Very Reasonable Fine Dining 4 Star Rating - Very good

This was the second time we gave it a try. The first time we could not even get in. This time we made sure we had a reservation. And it worked out well. The menu that is on the website was not the same that was actually served, it changes weekly, so don't be surprized if what you look up today isn't available a week later. Service was good, not the fastest (not very slow either), but attentative and friendly. The server had a very good knowledge about the dishes. The plates were nicely decorated. One of the Chefs came to the table and asked how we liked everything and explained how certain items on ones plate were made. The room has a very high ceiling which create almost a ballroom like atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable for what you get!

San Francisco Culinary Academy Resturant & Professional Chef Training Establishment = VERY NICE EXPERIENCE. 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

For a very interesting and enjoyable dining experience, I highly recommend at least one visit to the San Francisco Culinary Academy.

The 18 month, $45,000 program graduates professionally trained chef's every three weeks and as part of their program and as part of graduation, they provide a dining experience to the public. The food and pastry specialties are great and presented as you find on a cruise ship with as much as you ask for. I believe reservations are required if memory serves me correctly and there are only two seatings per evening. The experience is similar to a cruise ship dining experience but with heavy emphasis on the food & deserts.

Their classes are held at several downtown S.F. locations and the students are clearly visable running here and there in their white 'chef' outfits.... The area isn't all that attractive at all during the night and especially after 10 pm or so, but prior to that when the public is out running around, its perfectly safe. The students really put on a good show. And they obviously work very hard to earn their training. Some look tired and one of them told me the program was very demanding as well as expensive.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. PRICES TOTALLY REASONABLE. GREAT FOR THAT 'SOMETHING DIFFERENT' NIGHT OUT.

Beware of below average cooks and servers!!! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Do not support this "cooking" school which is more corporate than anything. They are not in the business of making well trained cooks for the culinary industry; rather, they are only in the business of making money. Classes sizes are 30 students to 1 mentor and the price of tuition is skyrocketing from a couple of years ago. Students that go into the field after attending the CCA are laughed at because of their lack of any culinary knowledge or skill. The teachers and this school just don't care. So, do not go here to eat because the food is below standard and don't ever apply to attend this hack school.
