Completely void of cramped space and poor sightlines, Comix boasts 300 amphitheatre-style seats in a modernly designed 5,000 square foot showroom. Pure sound, a 15 foot expandable stage, delicious cuisine, and superior cocktails from the hand-rubbed copper bar set an uptown theatre tone with a downtown comedy club feel. The very best of cutting edge improv, sketch, national Headliners and local comedians grace the stage at Comix. Comix offers Happy Hour specials from 5:30-7:30pm, Mon-Sat and provides space and customized planning for private parties, corporate meetings, and more. Step back from the days of dirty, crowded comedy clubs, and enter the redefined, spacious, and ever-evolving Comix- Manhattan's premier comedy nightclub. Life's tough. Laugh more. Comix.

Editorial by Citysearch

This gigantic comedy club--14,000 square feet of total space--attracts both a younger, alternative clientele and staunch stand-up fans. Both crowds appreciate its clean, modern aesthetic and regular weekday happy hour. After relaxing at one of four minimalist bars, patrons swarm inside the main showroom space, which is set up in a typical tiered table-seating style. From there, entertainers like Darrell Hammond and Janeane Garofalo give the crowd the laughs they came for.

Key Points

  • Zagot's #1 Rated Comedy Club
  • Expansive Main Stage, Intimate lounge
  • Modern Decor, award-winning menu

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - Ticket prices vary from show to show, but there is always a two-item minimum (food or drink) once inside the showroom. Seating is general admission, so arrive early if you want to snag a table up front, where the view is better but you run the risk of getting picked on by the talent.
  2. Happy Hour - If you want cheap drinks, show up between 5:30pm and 7:30pm Monday through Friday, when beer, wine and well drinks are half-off.
  3. Food Served - Hungry? Comix offers a full menu of tasty fare like pikilia, cedar plank baked salmon, and a warm chocolate cake with fresh strawberries.
  4. The Extras - Downstairs, an additional performance space called Ochi's Lounge offers a cheaper alternative to Comix proper, with no cover charge and a one-item minimum purchase from an already-discounted menu. Ochi's is open Mon-Sat.

Mediocre overpriced food - good comedy

by patricia p. | insider Insider | Rank: 30,454

The food was mediocre and overpriced. The ranch salad dressing was so watered down you could barely taste any flavor! Also, the mixed drinks were pricey and weak. And, they add in a mandatory 18% gratuity, so your server doesn't have to work hard, and KNOWS it. Avoid eating here at all costs!

The comedy, on the other hand, was enjoyable, and warrants increasing the rating from 2 to 3 stars/5.

Used to be good :(

by CSMobileUser2

I come to Comix each time I fly in to NYC. There are a ton of comedy clubs in this country, but there are none that are nearly as nice as Comix USED TO BE! The food was so good only 8 months ago, but now it suffers. I actually got some chicken raw last time. The crowds are small - and god knows it's not fun to laugh by yourself at a comedy show.

I will say the comics are always good considering what they are working with. There used to be a sweet, and cute audio booth boy that had the sweetest attitude, he even at one point actually refilled my ice water when my waitress was nowhere to be found before a show! The staff (mostly) really cared and went out of their way to make you happy. There needs to be more workers like that long blond haired booth boy.

I have a feeling that as much as I enjoyed staying in Chelsea for a long days work and to come down a few blocks to see a good show while getting waited on hand and foot is in the past and the staff will keep getting worse and all the good workers will continue to disappear.

I think it's worth your time to go elsewhere at this point if you want to get your laugh on. Sigh.....

A Fantastic Time!

by Mikelllita

Went to Comix with a few friends to see Jenaeane Garofalo and we had a blast. The three openers were absolutely hilarious, which you normally don't find at comedy clubs and Jeneane is always great. Fun atmosphere and tasty menu. This is a great way to spend an evening. Highly recommend.

Pros: Great Openers, Headliners, Food

Not the best comedy club

by mish123

I went to this place b/c i got free admission for being a student... well that excluded the 2 item minimum which were ranged from 8-20 bucks! (no wonder its free admission) ... it wasnt even comedians, it was just a bunch of videos that i could have you tubed myself - i laughed maybe 2x in the whole 2 hrs i was there.. not funny... i would not recommend this place to go for a laugh.

Pros: unnecessarily expensive food

Cons: not funny at all, expensive

GREAT Night Out!

by Sallyyy5

I went on a first date here and it was a great choice. We saw some really funny comedians and enjoyed some good food. My date had a great time and I'd have to say it was one of the best first dates I've ever had. Yes, we went out again(but had more fun at Comix).

Pros: Comedy, Food, Service

Great Time! Got a FREE ticket during the week when I bought another!

by cloie77

I live in NYC but have never been to a comedy club. A friend of mine was in town so we decided to go to Comix after spotting it on Citysearch. Also spotted the buy one get one offer on these pages which was goood for weekday shows. I don't remember the comedian names that night but they looked familiar. The routines were very funny and I liked the atmosphere. Also, great Village location in the Meatpacking District so we could wander abut after the show.

Pros: Comics, Location, Citysearch Offer

i feel cheated

by 123mab123

I got tickets to see Arj Barker last Saturday night. They were like $25 plus a 2 drink minimum. On the website, I was told in bold letters to show up an hour in advance. That's crazy I thought but I did. Don't because there was no reason to as it didn't affect seating or anything else except that it stuck me at their very lame bar drinking $12 cocktails. I had a couple and my wife had one.

Then we were seated and the waitress came by to take our drink order. I told her we'd already bought three and she said (of course i knew this would happen), "sorry, those don't count." The way she said it with terror in her eyes told me this was a regular occurrence. Confusing then that the bartender didn't share. That's when I first started feeling crummy - not a great way to start a comedy show. Anyway, I ordered two waters ($5 a piece).

The show started and the lineup was fine but they were totally having to fight through this black cloud of bad moods that filled the room. The table in front of us, tourists from Ireland, ordered a bottle of Veuve Clicquot (I don't want to know how much that cost) and even after that the waitress insisted they order another round! She came with 6 Bud Lights (nice after champagne I guess) but one of the party wouldn't stand for this and sent them back. All of this uplifting scene occurred _during_ the headliner's act which did not make him any funnier, that's for sure.

Next came the checks. There was mine with the 2 waters, another $10 to complete the 2-drink minimum and an automatic 18% tip. Oh and there are two green tickets. They won't let you out of the room unless you give them these green tickets proving you had the 2-drink minimum!!! Great, you cheat me and you make _me_ feel like a criminal.

So, a decent group of comedians brought down by a miserable venue. We were out $120 or so and left feeling used and abused. If you go, be aware that having a good time is your burden as Comix isn't going to help you out on that front.

Pros: decent lineup

Cons: rip off

Horrible

Overpriced, tasteless food. It took too long to get our food. Then we were automatically charged 18 percent gratuity. The worst part is that the management was rude. I wouldn't go back there if my favorite comedian was performing.

Pros: ?

Cons: bad expensive food, bad management

Classy Comedy Club

by nicros71

I haven't been down on 14th Street in a long time but when I saw Craig Ferguson at Comix. I couldn't believe that the health food store was converted into this amazing comedy club. Tickets were expensive but the warm up routine and show was great. They will try to get you to buy drinks at the bar prior to seating but once inside the seating and service was terrrific. Plus its nice to see that area finally get a nightlife! Does anyone remember 'The Village Idiot' bar next door well now its a lounge.

Pros: Cool Comedy Club

Cons: Pricey drinks - waiting to be seated at bar

Great Comedy Club

by gretf157

I live in the West Village so Comix' location in the nearby Meatpacking District is perfect, plus it's a really nice part of the city for restaurants, bars and clubs. I've also been to Comix during Happy Hour and they have good drink specials. As far as the club, they get top notch comedians and I've head great service on the 3 occasions I've been there. The food's pretty good too. All in all, a very good comedy club.

Pros: Talent, Service, Food & Drinks

Rude, overpriced, cheesy

by acr321

The one nice thing I can say about them is they have a good lineup, so sadly, I keep coming back. But that's in spite of the club, not because of it. The hosts are rude, the service is indifferent, the food is overpriced and bad. The drinks are meatpacking district priced, so that makes sense at least. The decor makes me feel like I'm in long island in the mid-80s. Blech.

Pros: Signs funny people

Cons: Overpriced, rude

The Best Comedy Club in the City. Period.

by williambillyons

As a comedian who has been to several NYC comedy clubs, I can't say enough good things about how great Comix is compared to the other options in the city. I've been to several performances here and the staff is always courteous and the food is always tasty. Try finding another comedy club in the city that pays as much attention to detail as Comix does. This club is in the perfect location and is a great option for those tired of bumping into Tony Sausages and waiting thirty minutes in a crowded bar while watching sad old men way past their prime trying to work their game.

Pros: Amazing Venue. Clean Facility. Great Food. Top Comics

Cons: Not many, a little pricey perhaps

by billybobbys

We just went to check out a show there that was comprised of many unfunny comics, had exhorbitant prices and presented shakey service. Not sure why anyone would go to this club? What a waste of our (and everyone in the audience's) evening.

SOOO FUNNNY

by nycguy200

Went to Comix last night. Hadn't heard of the comic before -she was one of the creaters of the daily shwo. She was real funny and so were the two openers - very pro with lots of material. The place was packed which made the show even better. Drinks came out fast and the food was great - A little more expensive then we expected but better than the greasy food you get at most comedy clubs. you can tell this place has a real kitchen, not just a microwave.

Pros: restaurant food, fast service, awesome comedy

Cons: line to get in showroom

great night out!! friendly & funny

by jc102

Went to Comix last night with my boyfriend. It was a great night out. We didn't realize they had a full menu so we had already eaten but the waitress convinced us to share the banana cake - so yummy. The cocktails were a bit pricy but i guess that's what you expect in the meatpacking districk. The first comedian seemed a little green but the rest were soooooooo funny. overall a great time - friendly service, yummy food.

Pros: funny comedians & friendly service

Cons: a bit pricy

Do It

Comix is the place to be. Old, young, infant, whatever, you'll laugh. The shows are great. They have great headliners as well as terrific amateur "New Jack" showcases. All audiences are welcome. Whether you are comic, lover of laughs, alcohol, picking up women or dudes(or both, hey it happens)look no further. This is the place to be any day of the week. Come, laugh, make some friends, chill at the bar, do a cartwheel. Make it happen.

Pros: Fun times

Cons: Converse, Conway Twitty, Con Air

New Jacks: Great for Comics, Great shows

by mcupernall

The New Jacks shows at Comix, run by Becky Donohue and Amanda Beals, are a must see. As a part-time comic and full time audience member, I can say both the saturday and friday shows were so much fun. The audiences couldn't have been more attentive and energetic and the other comics were sweet and supportive. It makes a difference participating in shows with quality comics and positive vibes. Becky and Amanda take a genuine interest in the comics and the audiences they perform for, which makes for a great show. It's a cut above and I highly recommend it!

Defintion of Arrogance

by gotham07

Amen, to the last review, this place is the biggest scam in the Meat Packing District. IT does suit the neighborhood though, the lot of obnoxious pretensious places that rip off unsuspecting visitors. First off, rude!! and I mean rude manager, apparently this girl has never heard of the customer being right, because she was busy talking down to us. Then top it off, we made reservations- only to find out they dont have it ready for us, so we wait and wait and wait- what is the point of a reservation if we get seated with the rest of the people- we felt scammed into eating here, when we could have gotten a bite before hand. And scam it is, the prices are outrageous and with a 2 order minimum each, it added up pretty quick for us. The food was okay, but not worth the prices. And the server was more like a hustler than a waitress- we got bummed rush, she actually said, "what do you want?"... Someone should let her know she works in the HOSPITALITY industry. Im a waitress too, so I know, even on my lousiest day, I gotta be nice, or else I dont get paid ,and then I figured out why, Mandatory instant gratuity 18%. Auto gratuity on lousy service, poor table management and teeny tiny portions.
Came out of the night, in a big hole, pretty much ended our evening plans and felt like we got turned upside down and shooked for our last pennies. We tried to complain and again, no sympathy from the manager- would put to shame the most obnoxious bouncers in the Meat Packing District.

Hate to leave on a bad note- so here is a good one, The Comic was funny but in the end even He could not put a smile on our face as we walked out of this money pit. I wont say skip this place, because it does have its perks.. just be prepared to pay for it. Thats all.

Pros: Comic was funny

Cons: Service Horrible, Apathetic managers and EXPENSIVE

All that Glitters is Not Always Gold

by jenbelvin

Well, I read the last two reviews, and I thought it was just me that got treated rudely- let me get the good out of the way, The Comic was hilarious and the Food was surprisingly good. For that Ill give Comix Two Stars, but after that everything pretty much goes down hill. Start with the backwards service, I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff over there. First our server, who came at us like we just woke her up from a nap- could not answer any questions and when she did, it felt like she was just rushing it to get to her next table, then we gave our orders, she took it, without listening, asked for a salad dressing on the side- I knew she blew by that request, sure enough got the salad slathered in dressing (which arrived before our drinks by the way, even though we ordered those first)
I tried waving at our server for more water, she literally - looked me in the eye and walked away-ignored us, tried getting one of the other staff. They ignored us, finally the bus boy acknowledge our presence. I figured I'd get back at her, later when the bill comes- never happened because the check added on her tip- apparently she gave us stellar service because it was a whopping 18%.
We went to a manager at the end, but we got the brush off, mumbled that it is all in the menu printed for all to see (in small print- in a Dark Room) gee wonder why we didn't see it!! In the end, the tab was high, but we didn't have a problem with that- but that hustle we got treated by our server was a bitter pill to swallow. I would not have given that girl a dime of my money!

Pros: Funny Show, Yummy Chocolate cake!

Cons: Service was pathetic and incompetent

Cool Comedy Club

by andrenyc23

Well..lets start with saying, its mad pricey!! You will spend some very "uncomedy club" like dineros to play here... but if you are still reading this after I've said that then you are probably the type of person that will appreciate the difference between a dive and a good night out.

Starters, the show was funny, packed (and I mean PACKED) ... like sardines but at least the laughter was a group effort.. no pity snickers..but full out guffaws. The place was tight, had more of a Club club feel rather than a comedy place. Then the food was not half bad either... my boy had an excellent burger (so he said) and I had a fried chicken that was hands down one of the best I've had, so - it was pretty decent night... good job to our server too... cute and perky... overall worth the dollars it cost to get in here.

But seriously... mandatory tipping.!!

Pros: Good Food, Cool Place

Cons: Bring Money!! You will need it

Awesome Burger!

by jzahari

Had the best burger here at Comix, was not expecting it, in fact I was expecting some generic slab of meat on a bread, as reputations of Comedy Clubs go. But here I got a nice piece of burger, fixed up with melted cheese and nice thick bacon. The server asked me how I liked it, which again was a surprise for a Comedy Joint. My girlfriend had the Pasta, which she could not stop talking about all night... So yes! I highly recommend this place for a good burger, up there with the rest of the City's finest.

Pros: Best burger in Town, Nice clean place

Cons: A bit Pricey

Yummy Evening

by comedyjunkie99

Went to see Roseanne Barr tonight, had a pleasant surprise as Rose O'Donell was there too. The show was great, too bad it was just for one night, I would have loved to see it again, just to see which celebs would stop by , but I am coming back, if not for the Comedians, the food was really good- restaurant quality- had the steak, it was nice and juicy, but the mash potato that came with it was so rich and creamy- I had to order a side of the stuff. Highly recommend you get a side, b/c one will not be enough if you love mash potato.

Save room for desserts, because again. The selection was mind boggling. Had the chocolate cake with strawberries, my friend had the dessert sampler- what a way to end an evening. Excellent evening, the only downer was the check- it was a bit pricey- but I have to say it was a good ebough that it didnt really bother me that much.

Pros: Great Comedy, Good Food

Cons: Tight spaces, spacey service

This place Needs to Learn Manners

by miranda56

I had to get on Citysearch, I have never ever reviewed a place but I really needed to get this out there to people. This Club, and that is what it is- sticks it to you when ever they can- the prices are ridiculous- I read the reviews and it seems like maybe I am just the unlucky schmuck. My gripe which frankly ruined the evening for me was the service, never have I seen such a mess- we ordered their Prix fixe menu, it was a good deal and we figured in such a crazy night, it would be easiest- instead, we wait for our food forever- Its a salad!! how long does it take to make a salad, then, our friend did not get the salad they ordered- eventually our salads came, the chop salad shows up 30 minutes later... then our second course shows up, with out our friends pasta, which came 20 minutes later. So here we were eating dinner, staggered - when we all wanted our food at the same time. Then, an hour later, after all our plates were cleared the desserts come out. So basically we did not eat together, and as our prix fixe goes- our desserts were so far behind that we practically forgot we had it coming. Get it together Comix!! It is a shame, since the food we got was pretty tasty, just wished me and my friends could have eaten together, since the pasta looked really really good. I am not writing this place off yet, since the show was stellar and the food was good- but the night was pretty crappy- Bad Service can ruin almost anything and tonight was no exception.

Pros: If I have to give a Pro Ill say the food was tasty...

Cons: Service Sucked!!!

A Great Night Out

by reddevil07

Went this past Saturday to watch Tony Woods, did not know who he was... But I kinda got bait and switched since I thought I was there to see Eddie Griffin, instead I got this guy Woods. Well, he ended up being hilarious which was a good thing since his opener was a little weak and made me question my choice for entertainment on a Saturday.
While miffed at No Eddie...I did enjoy my visit. The Comic was funny, the Beer selection was pretty good and the food was great. Had their Hot Wings: nice and crispy, yet spicy enough to order more good beer. Then got a Chicken Sausage Pizza with ricotta- which was yummy. Ended with a pineapple cake, great dinner and show combo- a little pricey at the end of the day but I guess that is the Price of hanging out in the Meat Packing District.

Pros: Good Beers and Good food

Cons: Pricey

Great Night Out!!

by westie54

Went to see Alex Bornstein, from Mad TV, she was funny and very endearing. Her show ended with a Family Guy segment... The whole night was great , a few suggestions and raves: Not much to complain about, maybe a less crowded table would have been nice and a nicer bigger portion of the delicious Artichoke dish was my friends only gripes. But overall the food was good, Buffalo wings nice and spicy and the Scallops was a pleasant surprise for a Comedy Club, but the biggest winner of the night was the tempura zuchinni, crispy and light and the sauce was delicious. Great experience all around, our server was very nice and she made great suggestions. Will be back again.

Pros: Nice and Clean club, Good food

Cons: A little to "cozy" for comfort

Fingerlicking Good!!

by acasey23

So,went to Comix to catch Sherrod Small Saturday night. Awesome show.. it was little bare but I love Small, so it was cool that it wasnt so crowded. The club is pretty slick, very chic and a step above any of the other comedy dives in the City. The show was the bomb. BUT, the Chicken I had was just as good. Crispy crust, slightly spicy, nice piece of biscuit and mac and cheese, and collared greens..never had collared greens before, and I must say, Im now a FAN of the stuff. My buds had the steak, and he loved his food too. A Definate recommend for those looking for something different to do on the weekends... on;y thing that wasnt cool, I asked for butter...and never got it. Aside from that I will be back for more chicken!

Pros: Good Food, Nice drinks

Great Time Finally in the Meat Packing District

by jconroy23

Surprisingly great time!! We went to Comix Saturday Night, had a blast, yes it was a little pricey..Drinks were too expensive, but the show was hilarious and the food was very good. Had the Fried chicken, and I being from the South, must say it was great home cooking, away from home. Mac and Cheese, with collared greens and a biscuit made for a very cool dinner, but my friend had the scallops with wild mushrooms and it was more upscale and she loved it as well. Cool beers on tap, and great food, plus laughing my butt off.. Its a great way t0 spend a Sat night. The Neighborhood is hopping so, afterwards it was easy to go find other things to do...

Cons: Pricey Drinks

Good Laughs, Food

by ajohnson543

Its odd to write about food after visiting a Comedy Club, but being a fan of the NYC Comedy Circuit, I am an amateur expert on all the comedy spots. And while the show was funny, you could get it at other cheaper places, I was surprise to find that the food was actually very good. My group had a Sampler of Calamari, and Wings and also a very yummy Artichoke Dip. It was so good we decided to get more food and ..it didnt disappoint. The shrimp quesadilla was perfect, and the mini pizzas were perfect shares for us- Try the Truffle Cheese pizza!! Truffles in a comedy club (who would have ever thought that was gonna happen- only in NYC)- So long seedy sketchy laugh joints. Say Hello to Comix- bring some friends and actually enjoy both the show and the food at the same time.

Pros: Amazing Food, Cute Waitress

Cons: Expensive Cocktails

Okay comedy club, food sucked!

by rhapsodyblue

My boyfriend and I went to see Maria Bamford and although we enjoyed watching MB perform, we were disappointed with the food! If you should decide to go to Comix, eat before or after but don't eat during the performance. We ordered the fish and chips. The only time we had anything as mediocre was at Pizzeria Uno (dont' order their F-n-C, too). They only served two pieces. The fried breaded exterior was soggy. The fish inside was tasteless and almost warm. The shoestring fries that it comes with were not of shoestring consistency. They were slightly thinner the McD's fries and straight, not shoestringy.

Comix is located near many restaurants so definitely eat before or after you laugh!

Pros: okay club

Cons: fish and chips sucked!

Sophisticated atmosphere

by mishma

My boyfriend and I went there last night for the Wednesday night comedy experience with Wendy Williams. The comedians and the drinks were top notch. The place has a modern decor from the lightening to the silverware. I was a bit disappointed with the food. I had the crab cakes with the macaroni and cheese which was not to desirable, however my boyfriend had the fried chicken and onion rings which was actually not to bad, but not the greatess. After the show, they had a mingle and greet session which consisted of drinking and chatting. We left with a feeling of a satisfying evening.

Top of the line club

by rascator

So I am a huge fan of Richard Lewis on Curb Your Enthusiasm, and I couldn't wait to see him live when I found out he was performing at this new club. While it was a fun experince seeing him on stage his stand up humor is...a little odd to say the least. I was however impressed by the club. The place was packed with a very nice crowd, the embience was elegant and dare I say upscale...the food was OK, but I don't go to comedy clubs expecting 5 star cusine. I really enjoyed the layout of the showroom, it seems like there is not a bad seat in the house. As for Richard Lewis, I'd rather stick to watching him on TV.

Pros: Layout of the showroom, embience of the club, fun crowd

Cons: Richard Lewis...not so funny live

I feel tricked

by jennicurry

The show I saw was actually quite excellent, but the evening was far more expensive than I expected. When I booked the tickets on-line, I thought I was getting a great deal. They only cost $10! Sure, there was a two drink minimum, but I didn't think the bar would be that pricey, because judgind from their corny, half-assed Web site, I thought it was some crappy little club. Once an appetizer and drinks were factored in, my boyfriend and I dropped $120 bucks on the evening. I know that concert and theater tickets are going for increasingly outrageous prices, and $120 might not seem like a huge bill for two people, but there are plenty of other venues in town--like the Slipper Room and UCB--where it only costs $5 to $10 to get in the door, and the drinks are more reasonable.

Pros: Top tier talent

Cons: Booze and food are unimpressive and overpriced

Great Club - Annoying Neighborhood

by joffrey_de_peyrac

I am not a fan of anything trendy and pretentious, therefore I trendy to stay away from the Meatpacking District. I am however a huge fan of stand up comedy, and that is what convinced me to venture into enemy territory to check out this new venue. My journey into chic-land provided well worth it. The show was great ,(John Oliver, whom I have never seen live before) the club - although pretty fancy was not stuffy nor pretentious, I found the staff welcoming and warm (not like the wait staff at some of this other places in the neighborhood, that seem as if they are doing YOU a favor by approaching you). The food was surprisingly very edible if not very cheap. This club is worth a second visit to the most annoying neighborhood in town.

Pros: Comedy, well planned out showroom, great (friendly!) staff

Cons: Having to venture out to the pretentious meatpaking district

The least funny shows in the city! Hands down.

by nytimesguy

I go to all the clubs in the city on a regular basis and Comix has the least funny shows/comedians as a whole, out there. I went a month ago and hated it but wanted to allow for an off night and just went to see John Oliver. Both times, it was a waste of A LOT of money and was NOT funny at all. The drink prices were so high; we were floored. I mean strip club high! Also, the staff was curt, bordering on rude - like they hated the place themselves. I wonder why they started such a fancy club but then don't seem to know how to run it???

Pros: Can't think of any

Cons: shows, prices, service

A Great Time!

by europa_europa

Went to see Janeane Garofalo with some friends who've been to this place before. The show was hysterical, I was never a big fan of hers but she was pretty good! The club itself is nice, doesn't look like a regular hole in the wall comedy club I'm used to - it's got a fancy nightclubish feel to it. Fits in the trendy neighborhood. I only had dessert (fried donuts!) but my friends seemed to like the food. Overall, cool place, I'll be back.

Pros: cool comedians, trendy atmosphere, fried donuts!

Cons: not cheap

Who's writing these good reviews???

by johnnylarue

Certainly not the TINY audience as they fell asleep for most of the show. Many of the comedians seemed like they didn't care if we laughed or not. One guy, Michael S. (can't remember his last name) told two jokes that are internet jokes that are floating around and one was an old Carlin joke! (my friend told us the punchline word-for-word before he did!)

I should have suspected the place wasn't good when I bought the tickets for $5 from one of those guys that sells comedy tickets on the streets in Times Square.

Pros: nice looking place

Cons: quality of comedians ! size of audience

Rockin New Years Spot

by jlippo

My fiance took me here for new years and it was a great time! We arrived early to have the prepaid menu and the food was sooo good. It took a little time between courses but when I tasted my duck it was well worth the wait. My date had the tuna which was also delicious and dessert (apple crisp) was better than my grandma's. The show started at 10 and all the comics were top rate (i liked christian finegan the best). Then at New Years the screen came down on stage and we watched the ball drop and had a champagne toast. It was a great experience. We hugn otu at the bar for a little bit afterwards. It was the perfect way to start the new year (if only getting a cab home hadn't taken so logn).

We'll be back.

Pros: great food & entertainment, beautiful room

Great comedy? Of course. Great food and beautiful surroundings, that was the surprise.

by eldayo

Saw a great show, had a really good meal. No pub food here! Attractive and attentive wait staff. What a pretty place! Much more than a comedy club. I'm going to do my corporate holiday party here. What a gem!

Pros: Side splitting comedy, fabulous food and sophisticated surroundings.

Cons: That it took so long to combine comedy, fine food and beautiful atmosphere.

hilarious headliners and pretty club, but pricey

by awlrain

I tend not to be a fan of the Meatpacking District bc it's too full of itself and too chichi for my laidback tastes. But I got free tickets to see Josh Blue awhile ago, so who was I to complain? The 3 openers + the host were pretty amazing and Josh was great too. I was really psyched about the place - it's a BEAUTIFUL club very tastefully designed. I also liked that there was no food minimum since i'd already arrived on a full stomach etc, no pressure to order whatsoever, which was great. I managed to see Kathleen Madigan and Cheech (the other half of Chong) also complimentary, and again - same vibe. The latter two didn't live up to the caliber of performances I saw the first time, but overall I had a very similar experience from the club. Their waitstaff was pretty on their toes and it seemed like people were having a good time. The food wasn't ridiculously expensive, but it wasn't a bargain either. Foe ex, desserts were over $10 I think. The club does draw big comedy stars and i like the table seating arrangement better than theater seating, but it is a hefty price per ticket for a budget conscious person like me. So if you don't mind the chomp on your wallet, def go and check it out.

Pros: beautiful club, great headliners

Cons: price
