The Last Hurrah, Omni Parker House?s fabled bar, has been the gathering place for Boston's colorful political pantheon for close to 150 years. Rogues, visionaries and villains sipped late-afternoon drinks at the Last Hurrah and hatched their plans to save the world, bilk it or escape it. James Michael Curley, a larger-than-life politician who embodied all three characteristics, was a regular patron. In fact, the bar takes its name from Edwin O'Connor's 1956 Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel "The Last Hurrah," based on Curley's picturesque career. During the first half of the 20th century, Curley, was at one time or another, mayor of Boston, governor of Massachusetts, U.S. Congressman and inmate at a federal penitentiary. Recent patrons have included George McGovern, Edward Kennedy and Rudolph Giuliani.

Last Hurrah  4 Star Rating - Very good

I had a great time and really enjoyed myself I went with several other couples and we were taken care of as a group, in a very efficient manner. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place

Awesome  5 Star Rating - World class

If you are looking for a place to go with some friends and have good foods and drinks this is your place. The drinks are pricey but the good food makes up for it.

Snow Storm Dec 6 - you bought me a drink - who are you? 5 Star Rating - World class

I was sitting at the bar the night of the Boston snow storm. Someone bought me a drink, I think he then sat beside me - but we did not speak. How I wish I had initiated conversation. You will know what I am taling about. If you read this - sign in and write back. The hotel was exceptional the food, service and accommodations were first class. I can still see his face - sitting next to me - I hope I find him again some day.

Turned away at the bar! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

On a recent Saturday night a goup of 5 of us strolled into the Last Hurrah. We had always walked by and figured we would stop in for a pint. The seating are was moderately crowded and it was around 11:30pm. As soon as we walked in the older gentleman at the bar looked at us and told us they had just had "last call". Funny, since the bar is open until 1am every night. This was confirmed with a phone call later. I will never step foot in here again and will tell this story to anyone who cares. Thanks for ruining our evening!

Cons: Rude Staff, Bartender Lies
