My eyebrows are perfect! Even my friend who doesn't notice much at all commented on my brows the other day. She managed to transform them with out taking much off at all (I like a strong looking brow). I'm very impressed and have found a new spot for brow tweezing. Customer for life.

I recently went to Robin Evans for the first time, and I wish I had discovered her sooner! The space is lovely, open and bright and very clean. The assistant had me fill out a form with my basic info, allergies, etc. and Robin came and picked me up shortly after. The bed was sooo comfortable, the music perfect, and Robin was very nice and shared her holistic approach. The facial was thoroughly cleansing but also pampering, and Robin uses a great selection of natural skincare. My skin feels great! During my 10 years in NY, I have tried endless spas and salons, and this is by far at the top! Thanks so much!

Since I was 14, I have been having my eyebrows done.(I'm now 22) I never really stuck with the same place, or person, and over time they became thinner and thinner, uneven, and a mess. I had tried to do them myself but that was a failure as well. I had reached my breaking point and decided not to touch my eyebrows, or let anyone else touch them, until I found the perfect place to go. After much deliberation, asking around, failed attempts at waxing appointments, I finally went to Google for help. I typed in "best eyebrow shaping in New York" and one of the tops hits? Robin Evans Skincare. I'm not one to jump at a nice wrapping, so i searched around for reviews about this place, and there was nothing negative to be found! I finally made my appointment, went in today, and my eyebrows look AMAZING. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am to find this place. It's perfectly priced, the place is clean, the receptionist was sweet, great atmosphere, very low key. Jimena, the artist who sculpted my eyebrows, obviously know what she is doing, hands down. On top of that, shes personable and full of life. I'm in love with this place, and I want the world to know! haha...

in all seriousness, there's no need to look any further! go to Robin Evans Skincare!!!!!!

I just had my second facial in 2 months with Robin and my skin has never looked better. I suffer from terribly sensitive skin and hormonal breakouts along my jawline and facials from Robin are the only thing that has helped clear my skin in years. The extractions are as painless as they can get and leave no scarring or irritation. Without pushing products on me, Robin recommended an acne medicine and face cream to me that has worked better than any other product that I've used since my teenage years. I'll never go to another facialist except Robin.

I've also been to Robin several time for my eyebrows and she's just as talented at eyebrows as she is at facials. I'm super cautious about my eyebrows (after a PMS incident in highschool where I overplucked) and she cleans them up perfectly while still managing to have them look natural.

I've been going here for a couple of years now for 1 good reason, EXCELLENT eyebrows. I always walk out with PERFECTLY done eyebrows, everytime and on top of that they always shape them so they grow in well. I recently started going to Gina for facials and I must say the results are amazing. My skin is perfect and the staff and service is phenomenal. This is one of the few gems where the price is right (it's $95 for the facial instead of the $100+ every where else in this city charges) the service is everything you would expect (thorough and non-painful extractions and everyone is super friendly and accomodating) and they really know their skincare. There is nothing bad to say about this place. Please go here if you haven't just to try their eyebrow waxing, I promise you you'll get hooked.

It's all true. I followed Gina to Robin Evans, leaving behind a prepaid wax package because she's just that good. Totally painless and I mean that. Robin Evans is low-key, no attitude and I always feel relaxed after my monthly wax (brazilian, eyebrow, lip). I would (and have) recommend Gina as she is truly a gem -- super sweet and truly cares about her clients and their experience. I always look and feel great and no irritating red bumps after a visit.

I have said it before and I'll say it again -- I'll follow Gina anywhere. As the prior poster said, she truly is the queen!

SERIOUSLY..... I never write reviews but I totally couldn't help it this time. Gina at Robin Evans is the queen of bikini waxing and facials. I'm not kidding. She's fierce. I had been going to another girl at another location who moved to Romania and I was crushed. I thought, no way would I ever find anyone else. BUT, GINA is AWESOME... The waxing was hardly hurtful (or about as painless as a brazilian could get) and her facials are amazing. I felt as though I had escaped to another world. She cares for her clients and puts herself in your shoes which makes the experience that much better... YEAH GINA.... You're the girl from now on.....

Jimena is fabulous! She is quite a scupltress, as I feel like my eyebrows are a work of art. Robin Evans Skincare was my last stop before heading home to Montreal , allowing me to leave the city in style. My eyebrows are out of this world awesome-yes, she really is that good. To top it off, she is an absolute sweetheart and a beautiful soul. I feel so fortunate that I got my eyebrows done here and that I met her.

I found Robin Evans skincare on cityscapes two years ago. I am fanatical about my eyebrows as they really frame your face. I was tired of the over priced, stuffy salon I went to on 5th ave which did mediocre brows (even though it was written up in every magazine). I was able to get an appointment with Jimena, the eyebrow Goddess, and have never looked back. She is spectacular at what she does! I like to keep my brows a little on the thick side so I let her know (as I am aware that pencil thin eyebrows are very popular) and she creates two little masterpieces on my face...my gorgeous well shaped eyebrows. Plus, I wind up feeling like I have a new best friend every time I walk out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE JImena. I would like to put here in a bottle so I can take her home with me. And spray her all around to make the world a better a place. I know..its a bit excessive but she's really that great!

Robin is the ultimate brow artist and I always leave feeling prettier! When Robin isn't around I have Jimena do my brows and she is exceptional as well. The services are done in a relaxing private loft in SoHo. By NYC standards, Robin Evans Skincare is quite a deal actually. There are other places that charge 3x for this kind of service. The skincare studio is quite elegant and is done in simple whites while the staff wear black. It's always a chic experience and the brows are always done to perfection.

If you need a great brow shaping, brazilian or any body waxing this is the place to go!! Everyone in Robin Evans is so friendly and accomodating- the customer service is amazing and my brows have never looked better! I've been going for a few months now and have tried both Robin and Jimena and have gotten soo many compliments on my brows and I love the way Jimena does my brazilian! she is so great to talk to and has a great personality! Prices are so reasonable for NYC and the atmosphere is so relaxing, welcoming and unpretentious. Reccomend it 150% You have to try it!

I've been to many of NYC's brow guru's, but nothing compares to Jimena's expertise at Robin Evan's Skincare. Before meeting Jimena, I recently was using a very well known brow place (which i won't name but was touted for best brows in the "2006 Best of NY Magazine"), but they decided to increase their brow shaping price from $35 to $70! That's an insane 100% increase! (I think they let the magazine article go to their head). Plus, on my third or fourth visit, they started pushing other services on me and even "charged some extras" when I didn't ask for them. I did a google search online and found Robin Evans Skincare. Jimena is talented brow artist and a beautiful person. She truly cares about each of her customers and respects what they are trying to achieve. I've been working with her for a couple of months and she has transformed how I look, how I feel and how others perceive me. I am grateful for her and her talents and will follow her wherever she goes.

I went to Jimena two weeks ago (had brow and upper lip done) and I am not sure what she did but my eyes and lips were swollen for a week. I have been there once before and all went fine and I get my brow and lip waxed monthly so my skin is used to it, so I am not sure what happened. It looked so bad that I called out of work the first day after I had it done. I called them and left a message explaining what happened (maybe the wax was to hot- not sure) but they didn't even bother to call me make. So for $45. plus tip I got a face that looked distorted for a week and no customer service at all, a call back would have made me feel much better about the place and maybe would have passed up as a fluke and tried it again but now I will never go back.

Jimena did my brows, and she is sick. Didn't hurt at all, my eyes didn't even water, yet I emerged looking 48959763 times better. That's all I have to say about that.
plus, I like the way it doesn't have a real uptight girlygirlygirly "spa" feel...it's really unpretentious and low key and simple. The amazing service & results are worth wayyyy more than anything some over-decorated over-hyped beauty salon could dole out. And if you're like me, you'll appreciate the stacks of avant-garde magazines, the crisp whiteness, the pleasantly loud conversations, and the secret feel to the place (it's on the 5th floor of a rather mysterious unmarked building on broadway). I could see dudes coming here too. But yeah, basically I am converted and will return as needed. Worth the $30 any day.

Hands down, Jimena works wonders with eyebrows. I am absolutely crazy about my eyebrows and was not pleased with the results I was getting from anyone until I met Jimena. She shapes eyebrows perfectly and sincerely cares about making sure that her customers are satisfied. In addition to her talent as an eyebrow artist, she is a divine person to talk to. When you leave, you truly feel better than you did when walking in the door. I found out about this studio on Citysearch and felt it was my duty to pass the good news along. I have had my eyebrows done bad too many times and have spent a lot of money trying to find someone good that I can trust with my eyebrows. I began to lose hope until Jemina did my eyebrows at Robin Evans. She does a great job every time and she is so nice and cool that you feel really good when you leave. It is also in expensive so you can go often for upkeep.

I have been going to Robin Evans ever since I moved to New York. I went off a recommendation from the Village Voice naming the place the best brows in the city. For years I have resisted getting my brows done because I have naturally thick eyebrows and was afraid they would be plucked away. However, Robin likes eyebrows thick and gives me a wonderful natural look. It is true that with Jemina you need to specify that you want your eyebrows thick, but she is very talented with brows and a very delightful person. I won't go anywhere else in the city for eyebrows. Also, the wax they use is painless! These women are truly artists with tweezers!! They also have a great atmosphere with very clean white rooms and calming classical music. I can't recommend this place enough!!

I went to Robin about a year ago after years of over plucked brows. I was worried she would not be able to do a thing with them. She reshaped them completely. I could NOT believe what she could create! I thought I was a lost cause. They have grown in more and she continues to shape them beautifully each time. I even get compliments! I would urge anyone to try it. She is so friendly and makes you feel right at home. I won't go anywhere else.

Robin really is a brow master - she is a perfectionist and won't let you leave with a single hair out of place. She's very personable and friendly too. Her prices for brows are about half to one third of other NYC brow masters and she's just as good (or better) and efficient. Highly recommended.

I have a problem where my brows are naturally asymmetrical and I am very sensitive about it. I first phoned Robin after reading a review of her studio in New York Magazine. BEST PHONE CALL I EVER MADE!! Robin is a gorgeous young lady with a bubbly yet professional personality that just makes you feel like you're in good hands. She asked me questions about what I was looking for. I'm a guy, so while I want a clean brow, I don't want to look too arched or too feminine. I just look for the symmetry that God didn't give me. She concentrates hard when working. You can tell this is as much an art as for her as it is a source of bread and butter. The result -- the perfect brow!! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been a faithfull client of Robin's for over 2 years now and I would never go anywhere else. I went to her with over done terrible brows and she re-shaped them within a few appointments to the amazing brows they are today! I have sent several of my friends there and they all love her! I always get several compliments on them and I would never let anyone else EVER touch them again...she is awesome, sweet and always accomodating.

I have been a faithful client of Robin's for years now and I was compelled to write a review in response to a review chastising her for her customer service. I have been to numerous aestheticians and spas over the years and I can tell you that her customer service is second to none. While she does not have someone answering phones every minute of the day, calls are always promptly returned. I think it is the fact that Robin does not have staff members answering phones that makes her able to provide the personalized service she does - from squeezing you in for an "emergency" appointment, calling to follow-up personally to ensure everything is ok, or meeting you outside the office when she is off to return something that you left at her office. In my humble opinion, that is much better than calling a "factory" where your call is always answered but the underlying services are shoddy and you are just another body. That being said, Robin's brow and facial services are first-rate and my face has never looked better!

I drove over an hour to have Robin shape my brows. Due to traffic I was almost thirty minutes late for my appointment. Robin saw me anyways which I appreciated, and did a fantastic job on my eyebrows! I will be a client for life. Robin is friendly and professional, and took her time to do a great job. While Robin herself is very friendly and does a good (but not great) job on shaping eyebrows, the customer service aspect is completely lacking. Most of the time when I called to make an appointment (during business hours mind you) the phone went unanswered and messages unreturned. I'm surprised that Robin would let her business be run this way and I came to the conclusion that if they didn't care about my business, then I didn't care to return.

I had been carefully growing my brows back after years of over-plucking, and had reached the point where I felt they just needed shaping, and went to Jimena at Robin Evans based on the recommendations on this site. What a mistake. She really stripped them, and I am now left with uneven, thin, poorly shaped brows. I'm back to square one, worse than square one, and have now got to go through all that regrowth again. She paid no attention to the natural shape of my brows, and has given them and awful (and unfashionable) 'tadpole' shape. She was chewing gum throughout the whole session, and seemed to have a very uninterested attitude. Needless to say I won't be going back.

I started going to Robin a few months ago and she has made my thin, sparce eyebrows look great and much thicker! Not only did she reshape them to fit my face, she also taught me how to fill them in to look fuller...which I had no clue how to do! There is another girl there that is very good too, I can't remember her name, but I believe she is the only other wax/facial person there other than Robin. (I couldn't get in w Robin so I gave her a try and was very happy too.) What I'm trying to say is that you can feel safe with anyone that works at Robin Evans!

I went to Robin Evans after reading all the great reviews on citysearch since my eyebrow specialist was on a two month vacation and was very excited to try her out. I decided to let my eyebrows grow in a bit and have them shaped. I requested that Robin use tweezers rather than wax because I have full brows and never want the pencil thin look. The end result was not impressive. I walked out with a minor trim and barely shaped brows, something I could have done myself. For the price and all the rave I read, I was definitely disappointed and will not return.

Simply put, Robin is incredibly friendly, professional and an expert at shaping brows. Although I typically go to a manicure place around the corner for maintenance to save money, I go see Robin at least every few months and before special events for the perfect look. She's the best!

Okay, I've read some of the reviews here and would like to add my 2 cents. I've been going to Jimena for a good while now and I have to say she is excellent. Not only is she an absolute joy to talk to you and chat with, but she knows eyebrows. I've sent people her way and they have been equally as pleased. NEVER a complaint! Maybe these women miscommunicated with her or something...I've been all over this city for everything from bikini waxes to facials and can say that this salon will give you personal, friendly service, very good advice and GREAT eyebrows. Also, as a side note, my sister has extremely bad acne (very, very bad) and I had Robin chat with her for awhile about food and vitamins, etc. that could help her. My sister followed every last bit of advice and a month later we walked into the salon and show Robin the results. The majority of my sister's acne cleared up and we know if was because of Robin's advice. If you're tired of the pretentious, over priced places in the city then go to the Robin Evans Salon. you will not be disappointed.

I just had my eyebrows done with Robin and I think she is an eyebrow genius!! I was always told my eyebrows were uneven by other places but somehow, Robin was able to create magic and evened them out. She made a perfect shape--I can't stop looking in the mirror. Her salon is neat, clean and relaxing. She is also a sweet person who takes her time to make sure your eyebrows perfect. I came from Long Island for my appointment and will definately return.

I can't agree with the previous review. I've known Jimena for a while, she is the type of person that would not
go against anyone's wishes. If that woman's eyebrows were so bushy, she would have had to feel Jimena overdoing and then she could have stopped her. It's unfair to blame Jimena for her mistake and I am almost this lady is exaggerating!!!

I have been a going to Robin for more than 2 years now and while I love , love her and she always did a great job with my brows, I have been seeing Jimena for the last 3 month or so, bc Robin was not available once. In the beginning she was great and I told her I am trying to grow in my brows and make them thick and than suddenly on my last appointment, when I literally walked in with bushy eyebrows, thinking she would get them into shape, she made them soooooooooooo thin, it is gross. They do not exist anymore and I am so upset. While I did not specify exactly that I wanted them thick (BIGGGEST MISTAKE!) I am also shocked that she would just make such a drastic change, without asking me first.

I've only been to Robin Evans twice for an eyebrow wax from Jimena. The first time I felt like I was in a miracle as Jimena was able to correct my eyebrow short-comings. After the appointment she told me to grow out my eyebrows so she can see what kind of shape she can mold them into. I grew them out for 2 months in preparation for my next visit and she totally made them too thin - nonexistent! I was shocked to think that anyone would consider pencil thin eyebrows as attractive. And all that hard work for nothing. She's an amazing lady with a great personality, but if you plan to visit please be specific. You'll never know what you're gonna come out with!

I went to Robin to have my eyebrows waxed after reading all the reviews on Citysearch, and to my surprise I felt her rating was understated. She is so sweet, personable, and instantly knew what to do when she saw my eyebrows. She has hands of magic! Skills are impeccable! I then started going for facial treatments due to adult acne and needless to say, I have not had outbreaks for sometime. I continue to see her (whenever personally available) and would pay double the price (which is very reasonable compared to other places I have been). I found her spa to be very simple, relaxing and with excellent ambiance. I was so relaxed llistening to her music, I actually fell asleep a few times. I have told all my friends about her and her impeccable skills. I will never visit another salon, as I have in the past, paid too much, felt forced to purchase products, etc.. Robin is the absolute best and cannot be compared to any other in the business. I have never felt more beautiful since starting treatment with Robin. Thanks so much Robin, you really have changed my outlook on myselft, helped my self esteem enormously and I just absolutely love you and your staff! from, just another New York beauty!

I travel to NY just to have my skin and eyebrows handled by the "BEST", Robin Evans! She is so personable, makes you feel very relaxed. In addition, you feel like you are the only client when visiting. She has made remarkable changes in my appearance of skin and it shines outwardly now. So traveling from CT to NY is worth it 100%+.

I love Robin Evans Skincare and will continue and have recommended her services to 100's of friends and associates.

Ive been going to Robin since day one and she is absolutely amazing. I cant even imagine going to a snooty salon again and getting subpar treatment. I go to her for facials, braz wax and eyebrow wax. I agree with all the reviews that she is an amzing eyebrow artist, but her facials are a way of life. My skin has been amazing for years since Ive been going to her. Its harder and harder to get in to see her, but its worth the wait. Promise!!

I recently had my bridal makeup done by Jimina at Robin Evans. She did an absolutely spectacular job. I couldn't believe how incredible it looked -- and I got SO MANY compliments at my wedding. I have been going to Jimina for eyebrow waxing for some time (she's great with eyebrows, too!), and when she mentioned that she specialized in bridal makeup, I was really excited. I wanted something dramatic for a night wedding, and she did a great job - the makeup managed to actually look natural for our daytime photos and dramatic at night -- I have no idea how she did it! She is a true professional, uses high quality makeup, and had a lot of suggestions that ended up looking perfect for the lighting and the space. I seriously couldn't be happier with the way that I look in the photos, and I have Jimina and Robin Evans to thank.

Having moved recently to NYC, I was looking forward to having my eyebrows done. I was really happy with the results, but then upon closer examination, I saw that my eyebrows were uneven. I know I have difficult eyebrows (curly and bushy) however, I have never walked out of a salon with uneven brows. Needless to say, I will not be returning here.

I consider myself brow obesessed, since I am of mediterranean decent (a girl needs to keep the brows in check!) I have been to the best of the best - Eliza, SueEllen, Anastasia, you name it - I love them all. One day, when I couldn't get an appointment - a friend from work suggested the Robin Evans Studio, so I went.
I have to say - Jimena is terrific - she really knows how to handle unruly brows. Not only does she have good technique - she tailors the shape and arch to your structure - no stencils ladies.

Jimena - that is all you need to know. Her personality rocks as well...You'll have a new best friend before you walk out.

I went there for the first time yesterday and everyone who worked there was extremely nice (including Robin herself). My hairy caterpillars turned into two butterflies!! I loved my eyebrows - they look beautiful! She also gives good advice on grooming and recommends excellent products. Serene and meticulously clean atmosphere - I wish I found this place sooner.

Not only is Robin incredibly talented (I go for brows and hair removal), she is also kind, patient, punctual and absolutely loves what she does. I have been going to Robin for the past two months and she's never disappointed me - she doesn't settle for anything less than perfection, she's always on time, she's gentle and speedy and provides very helpful beauty tips. I can't say enough about her and the services she provides. Plus she's got this great Soho studio that is so relaxing and happy - always great music playing.

i had my brows done by robin. the color is great and the shape is fabulous. however, i didn't know if i should leave any tip since she is the owner of the shop. does anyone leave tip???

Pros: good brow shaping, good color
