Wonderful Ribs. Meat was tender. Good cornbread. Yummy coleslaw. Big portions, reasonable prices. Interior is nothing fancy to look at; but really who cares.

A decent place to get barbecue, but nothing to write home about. The cornbread was dry -- a cardinal sin in my book. However, the meat was tender, and the sauce tangy. The macaroni and cheese? It was runny and strange-looking. Prices are reasonable. Overall, it was OK. Just keep in mind that there are better barbecue places out there.

Almost as good as Corky's but not quite. The ribs are very tasty and will definitely make you like your fingers. The coleslaw is excellent. I recommend this rib joint. Plus it's in Pasadena and there are lots of things to see.

yum...Greens...Ribs..these place will make you cry. So good and friendly atmosphere. Peach cobbler is the best. you will love just about everything on this menu

Big Mama give you a good portion of food. You should be well satisfied with the portions. The food is tasty, t he price was reasonable, but the customer service was fair. A good place to take your family.

Real Southern food is pretty rare around here, and I (Georgia) was pleasantly surprised. The food here is very authentic. This is a mixed blessing, because in addition to the soulful taste, the portions are big (I had the fried catfish, which was good, but I don't need 4 or 5 of them!) and taste is heavy. My friend had a Cajun something and gave it thumbs-up. Unfortunately, the place was nearly empty, and the only people working were Latinos, which was strange in a "family-owned and operated" "down home" restaurant. Anyway, it's good for anyone who needs a fix of real Southern food!

Big Mama's is very good and like the other reviewer said, they
give free corn bread!!! The barbecue is good
and their sides are also very good.Better to hit up Mama's and avoid Barn Burner on Fair Oaks. After all is said and done,
try to get down to south L.A. for some real barbecue or maybe someone on Lincoln Ave. in Pasadena is cookin'

Would recommend this place to anyone who likes ribs. Very nice place where service is quick. Price was responable and worth every bit. Would highly recommend them.

My husband and I went to the bridge party in Pasadena over the summer and this rib shack was cooking food for the party. It was out of site! It's GREAT for all the BBQ meets and other things. It's east to park and the service is really nice too!
Please try, you won't be disapointed.

You have to drive a bit up north to find this place, but the food is heavenly. Be prepared for huge portions (the plates are oval just to fit everything). I recommend getting the BBQ Combo Plate -- it's more than enough to feed 2 normal-appetite people. When I went, my leftovers lasted me for 2 more meals!

There is also very fast service. While you wait for your food, there is free cornbread (served with butter and honey). My friends and I all agreed it was the BEST we'd ever had.

I can't stress enough how great of a food experience I had there -- If you want good BBQ, this is the place to go.
