affordable floors and furntiure

We purchased and had installed $4,000 worth of laminate flooring from Affordable Floors several months ago. We had seen the commercial they had depicting the owner and his family and thought we could trust them as they seemed like good people. Warning! The owner sub-contracts his installs out to 3rd party installers and in our case, did NOT back them. These installers totally ruined our fireplace by actually CUTTING into the brick along the bottom, to fit the flooring underneath. We called the owner out and he agreed it was horrendous and damaged, but refused to accept responsibility for the mistake, instead, referring us back to the subcontractor who was not even listed in any directory or anything- we could never find him. The owner of Affordable Floors simply refused to help us resolve the matter just saying over and over that it wasn't his problem, and he could do nothing for us. We took the matter to the Better Business Bureau but I ended up having medical problems that abruptly took my attention away from the issue as I was hospitalized. Regrettably, there wasn't anything we could do at that point. We would just like to warn other families of this unprofessional and discourteous business owner, who, in our case, when something went wrong with his service, quickly turned from the seemingly nice and family oriented business man to uncaring and unprofessional. Please, before buying product from this place or expecially having them install it, please please shop around and make sure they have a satisfaction guarenteed policy.
