While there are plenty of excellent supplies and the prices are quite reasonable, it is the staff that are the best. They are artists themselves and know their products. They will be able to help a beginner find what they need for a specific project. There are also community boards for artists, a great giveaway bin (I got a bag of a drawing pencils and gum erasers just for stopping by), and the building is easy to find, clearly marked and parking is available and easy.
