All the Employees have been VERY helpful and extremely nice. I originally went to Transmission World and was lied to and treated horribly. When I called Speedy, they were nothing but wonderful and helpful! Treated Women Great!!!!

Bad Day Got Worse After Speedy
by B F.
took my car there for transmission work. the car had the same problem when i went to pick it up. they just wanted more money to fix it and so i took it somewhere else. several other things messed up on the car where this place was working on the transmission, and they didn't even fix the problem. called to complain but they take no responsibility. thanks for taking my money and @%$^*ing up my car, speedy!
p.s. very interesting that the reviews on this site are either terrible or pristine--would not surprise me at all if the owner writes some of them

Speedy Transmission is Fast and Honest!!
by Justin H.
I went through 4 Transmission shops in a week and Speedy Transmission towered above them all.. They were honest and help me solve my simple problem and turned out they would make no money off of it. But they were still very honest and explained what is causing my problems and fast with everything.

Speedy Transmission is Honest and Repuatable!!
by Carla E.
I had a very pleasant and honest visit at Speedy Transmission centers. Mr. Calvin is a Very HONEST CHRISTIAN MAN who made my visit go well. I had visited another Transmission Shop which feed me a lot of unhonest Garbage about my transmission which was going to be a lot of money to take care of my problem. I prayed and the Lord lead me to Speedy Transmission Center and it was not at all the biggest problem with my transmission. When it went from a HUGE fund to NO fund, just because of his HONESTY and UP STANDING man in the Business World. So I RECOMMEND looking for honesty In A Business. COME VISIT SPEEDY TRANSMISSION CENTER IN KNOXVILLE. You will find what you need.

I believe Speedy scammed me!!!!
by Meredith O.
First taken in for minor work--quote ($450). Next day they said a different part was now broken and it would take $800 max. The day after that the transmission all of a sudden needed to be totally rebuilt ($2500 now) and it would take at least 3 more days to fix. Never called back and LOTS of discrepancy between what they say at different times esp. compared to written info they send. They would not give me my car back for less that $700 and that is with the whole thing taken apart. Talked to a reputable mechanic (which I should have done in the 1st place), he said that it probably had no problem to begin with. We agreed to pay the money to get it back and they held my car still for 4 more days b/c they sold my transmission to the junkyard!!!!!!!! Then when we finally got it back the car was COMPLETELY undrivable.

tried to rip me off...
by bob b.
I'm a DIY mechanic all my life and had rebuilt transmissions before but when i went to do business with speedy here in Knoxville TN i was looking for somebody honest and they sounded like they would be. the guy there told me it would be 250 plus parts for a rebuild. I was on a short time table and had a lot of other things to do before i left town. he told me that it would be 3 days total. it took 4 just to tell me that it was going to cost 1000! said all this stuff had to be replaced that i was pretty sure didn't have to be replaced and when i picked up my Transmission in pieces i saw right there that i was right and all of what he said was wrong (gears and syncros) were perfectly fine. after i laughed at him for telling me 1000 for the rebuild i told him that i had a line on a re-manufactured tranny for 700 and he called me a liar! Now not only did he lie to me about when he was going to get the estimate to me, three times, wasting my time, he then tried to pull the wool over my eyes about the problems. very dishonest and crooked looking for an extra buck in my opinion.

The only place I will go!
by Lynn F.
Several years ago I had a problem with the transmission in one of my cars. After going to several places to get an estimate and being told that I needed a new transmission and it would cost $1500 to $2000 I went to Speedy. Calvin looked at my car and told me it would cost about $350 to fix it. I couldn't believe it. Several of the other places in Knoxville had tried to rip me off. I have since taken a couple of other cars to Calvin at Speedy to have them fixed. They give you a loaner car and great customer service. The last time I had to take a car in (my GMC Jimmy), it was a small plastic part and they did not charge me one cent to fix it. I have and will continue to recommend them to my friends. A couple of my friends have used them and also have nothing, but good things to say about them. I don't know if they are the cheapest place in town, but they are reliable, know what they are doing, friendly, and most importantly honest. I will never take a vehicle of mine that needs transmission work anywhere else. A+++

speedy to take your money transmission
by john b.
This place is a joke! They wanted over two thousand dollars to fix my car. Thank God I was smart enough to get my father involved, who happens to be a former mechanic. When I explained what my car was doing , jerking hard and shifting erratically, my dad told me to take it to a tranny specialist, not just one, but two or three different places. So that is what I did. I took it to Speedy 1st and they gave me an outrageous estimate. I did as my dad said and took it two other places. I took it to the second shop and they said they would do a complete rebuilt tranny for $1800. So off I go to the 3rd place. Finally I was comfortable leaving my car with someone. the 3rd shop gave me a free computer scan and found all I needed was a pressure solenoid which would cost about one hundred dollars. That is a savings of almost 2 grand. I agreed to let the 3rd shop replace my solenoid and guess what.....no more tranny problems. The car is performing exceptionally well now and I didn't have to spend 2thousand dollars to get it back on the road!!! A warning to anyone who needs tranny work...........do not go to Speedy Transmission unless you are willing to throw your money down the drain for repairs you don't need.

Don't be tricked by others
by Sherri W.
I took my 1996 Dodge Stratus to Calvin, who I was referred to by a friend, to find out why my "Service Engine" light was on and sometimes the car would not shift. Before I took it there, two other shops checked it, but not very closely, and said the transmission had to be either rebuilt or replaced and would cost between $1500-$1800 to fix. Speedy Transmission checked it and said that all I needed was a speed sensor, so that the computer could tell how fast I was going. They replaced it and it works perfect again...for a total cost of $64.80!! I am so happy that I did NOT fall for the tricks at the other two shops. A 3rd opinion paid off. I would trust Calvin and Speedy for any future repairs. They are very professional and I would recommend to anyone.
