We went to the Highlander last year and I had the best steak I've ever had, so we went back for our anniversary this year. What a disappointment! The food arrived lukewarm, the potatoes tasted like they had been sitting out all day and when we told our server this, she just shrugged her shoulders. It was definitely not the service or the food I remembered.

Went for first time after reading good reviews. Food was good but service was slow. A wedding reception seemed to absorb the wait staff. Charlie's Exceptional Steak entree and chili were excellent. Salads were tasty also. However, entrees arrived 3 minutes after salads / soups; hadn't finished the salads yet. Tap beers were not available due to broken CO2 system. Ran out of Newcastle bottled beer. Second brandy and soda took 25 minutes. Took a long time to get the check. Server apologized frequently for poor service. Poor lighting on patio after sunset. We were told light bulbs were burnt out; had to request candles. Our impression was that, with the exception of the kitchen, the restaurant was poorly managed. It is a great setting but improvements are badly needed in the area of service if they expect to gain and retain customers.

The Highlander patio is the best-kept secret of Maple Grove dining. Forget the overcrowded "restaurant row" and sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset and GREAT FOOD. I've had several entrees, and you can't go wrong with the steaks, walleye, or great burgers!

My husband has been a cardholder at Rush Creek for a number of years, at least once a week he plays the course and my son and I meet him for dinner. My usual fare is the Charlie's Exceptional Steak....the name says it all! Who needs Manny's or Murray's when you can get a great steak dinner for such a resonable price. I suggest the sweet potato souffle for your potato choice...fantastic as well!

The service is top notch. The waitstaff are friendly and many great us by name (in fact most of them remember my order down to how I like my steak prepared).
We were so impressed by the food and service my husband and I were married and hosted our reception there.

TOP NOTCH!

A great getaway with romantic views and a wonderful fireplace. The prices are reasonable and the food (especially the Prime Rib) is as good as anything you will find NW of the cities.

We are there at least once a month

The view from the resturants is very impressive. We eat there a number of times during the year and the food has always been great, prompt service and the personnel are very warm and friendly. There is no better place to go for a Sunday Brunch. Even with the high volume of people served, food quality and service is not affected. Oustanding.

In winter sitting in front of the fireplace at our favorite table for Valentine's or our Anniversay, or on the terrace overlooking the beautiful golf course in the summer, you would be hard-pressed to find a more romatic spot in the twin cities. Many of our favorite memories are enjoying the sites, friendly waitstaff and great food.

Sunday morning, my husband and I took our entire extended family to the "family brunch", which included 13 individuals with 5 grandkids (8, 5, 2.5, 9 months, and 3 months). We requested to be sat outside overlooking the pristine golfcourse. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. My father-in-law stated, "This is the most impressive scenery and dining experience I have ever had with the family."

The ambiance at the Highlander is second to none. The views of the golf course are exquisite and the dinner is delightful. My favorite entree is the RC Porterhouse. The Highlander advertises this steak as the "King of Kings" and they are not kidding. This steak is HUGE and bursting with flavor.

Summer on the patio is beautiful! Dine on scrumptious food (the walleye is awesome) overlooking the golf course, ponds, and even sit by a gas fireplace ; no road noise like other outdoor patios in the area. You'll feel like you are on vacation! But wait, there's more... even winter is wonderful, either in the quiet relaxed restaurant with a fire in the fireplace or watching a game in the pub. It's the perfect romatic dinner spot - no matter what the season!

Had dinner there last weekend and three of us ordered the steak and we all agreed it tasted wonderful! The sweet potato souffle is a must order, it is delicious. One order of the huge yummy chocolate cake is all that is needed for four.

With a relaxed atmosphere and great food why go anywhere else. Your experience starts as you enter the driveway. When you walk in through doorway you are greeted by the attentive and couteous staff. Enough about the atmosphere, the food is second to none. Like I stated in the heading "golf or no golf, go for the food." If you are looking for a great steak this is the place. From the Twin Medallions to the T-Bone you won't be dissattisfied. Truely an enjoyable experience.

Dinner at Rush Creek is a wonderful experience. The food is always presented with such a flair of elegence. And the steaks are so tender and so flavorful. We have never waited for our table...they are always ready for you and seat you immediately. All of the people meet you with smiles and kindness. You always feel "special" when dinning there. Valentines Day is really a treat...the room is filled with rose pedals and beautifully decorated chairs...everyone at Rush goes the extra mile to make sure the customer is treated with dignity and respect. It's the BEST place to have dinner.

The Highlander has the look and feel of an upscale private country club ....without the attitude. My wife and I can bring our 3 kids with us for dinner and know that we will be welcome along with enjoying great food and service. The patio is wonderful in the summer and the main dining room is cozy in the winter. I recommend this place for all occations.

Rush Creek is perfect for my family and friends because it has superb food, a beautiful view (especially at sunset), top-notch service, and a convenient location. Even if you are not in the western suburbs it is still easy to get to and just minutes from 94. It's our first choice for a great evening out as a couple or with a group of friends, plus it is in our backyard! We have been there many times for family events (Mothers Day and birthdays) and we can't say enough about it. It is also a great place to bring the kids and they love being on the patio enjoying the view along with the rest of us.

This is my first review. The Highlander has numerous atmospheres, each of which has a terrific view and is appropriate to your dinner plans. Their main dining room features features a rich ambiance for the intimate or formal dinner. Adjacent to the main dining room is a pub with a great menu of modern and traditional beverages. For those out for a casual dinner the outdoor patio is perfect for the summer locale. The Highlanders burgers are outstanding with variations on classic combinations. The entres are well exectued variations on general menu items and range from bar fare to fabulous steaks. This barely hidden treasure is much closer to everything than you would imagine while you are enjoying the view. From the time you enter the parking lot you realize it's definitely worth the very little out of your way you have to drive to get there. All this and service which is on a par with the most luxurius private courses. Take the extra 5 minutes and find the Highlander. You will be back more than once!

When I want an evening with great food, a fabulous setting, incredible view, attentive service and a sunset to boot, Rush Creek has it all. It's our first choice for a great, relaxing evening that is actually renewing from the workday. We can't seem to stay away longer than a week. You don't need to play a round of golf to enjoy the view and the great food at Rush Creek! The outdoor terrace is very relaxing and the view is amazing. The portions are generous but not obnoxious like other Pub style restaurants. You also cannot beat the prices on the menu. This is the best place to end a hectic week of work and a better way to start your weekend!

I went to the Highlander Pub to check out the food before booking Rush Creek for my wedding reception. The food was fantastic. I went on a weekday before 6 and got a three-course steak dinner for $15. I will definitely be going back for more, and have been recommending the restaurant to everyone I know. I understand how it got it's rating as best-kept secret, too: I've lived within 10 minutes of the restaurant for years and had never heard about it until this summer.

A great relaxing setting in western Maple Grove. The service is top notch and the food even better. I have been dining at Rush Creek for over 6 years and have never had a bad experience.

The highlight of the menu just may been the fine steaks at reasonable prices compared to traveling downtown Minneapolis to dine. I recommend to everyone and it I think others do too. It is a very busy spot all year round.

Keeo up the great work and we will keep coming back.

You don?t have to love golf in order to have a great time at the Highlander Pub. While the golf course is one of the best in the Twin Cities, the food is a near match. While I hate to recommend it (for fear of not being able to get reservations) the brunches for Father?s Day and other special days are nothing less than spectacular.

You are seated in one and one-half hour increments, so you feel no need to hurry. They start by bringing you some of their famous cinnamon rolls, and a frizzy drink. But after that, you are on your own with a buffet of regal proportions. Smoked salmon with capers and a tantalizing cucumber tarragon sauce, wild mushrooms, artichoke salads, raw oysters and clams on the half-shell (not every year), plus pasta salads and fresh, fresh fruits.

Then there is the traditional omelet bar, sauteed walleye, new potatoes, brussell sprouts, and countless additional vegetables in tantalizing sauces and throws. But the topper, the reason to go is the Prime Rib! It does melt in your mouth. It cuts softer than butter and has such flavor you would be happy if one slice of it was all you got to eat for a week.

You can end your meal with dozens of desserts or go straight to the ?chocolate fountain.? Yes, a fountain of high quality chocolate you can cover strawberries, melons, raspberries, marshmallows, pineapple, cherries, or just about anything your heart desires. All of this for $25 plus tip and tax. Once you try it, you will come back every year. See you there.

My friends and I always look forward to having dinner on the terrace after playing golf. The view is spectacular and the service is always cheerful, attentive and accommodating to special requests. Because the food is sooooo good, we generally like to try something new each time. We have never been disappointed in our selections and look forward to the next time we golf at Rush Creek. Their menu has "something for everyone" and the staff has been gracious to split a meal at the kitchen before it's served. If you're looking for a beaufiul view that is peaceful and quiet - this is the place to go.

I eat at the Highlander every Sunday after golfing. The steaks are excellent and they have a very good chicken fetuccini. Opt for the Caesar salad too. And their Long Islands are great - you'll only need one and drink it SLOWLY.

Whether you order your steak rare or medium well, the chef nails it almost every time. You have your choice of ambience for pub/sports bar feel in the main bar room to white linen/romantic dinner in the dining room (many high school students pick the Highlander as their dinner destination on Prom Night) or casual on the patio (weather and season permitting, obviously).

The Highlander Restaurant fits your year round needs for romance. Spring and Summer you can sit outside the Highlander and enjoy the spectacular view of the golf course on their comfortable and spacious deck. (You might even be privy to an outdoor wedding that is taking place! )In the Fall (year round as well) they have the out door fire pits going which will take off the Fall chill, still allowing you to enjoy the deck and view. Right now however, they are broken. In the winter you can enjoy the Highlander restaurant inside by the roaring fireplace. It's the best secret in town at a very reasonable price.

Highlander is always great. The food and service are first rate followed by the ambiance of arguably the best clubhouse in the twin cities, and the golf course views are spectacular.

This is a great place to eat. It has wonderful steaks and a brilliant atmosphere that can't be beaten. I really enjoy relaxing here after a long day. The patio view is something you won't forget anytime soon as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all the people who like quality cuts of meat and a great place to eat.

The steaks at the Highlander are fantastic. The restaurant itself is beautiful, has a fantastic view, amazing patio and great service. All of the food is great, however my husband and I are partial to their fantastic steaks. The patio is the perfect place to have a cocktail and great food, watch nature at its finest and relax the day away.

The Highlander Pub and Restaurant in Maple Grove has all the amenities. The food is spectacular. The steaks are always done to perfection and taste great. I also highly recommend the Blackened Shrimp Salad. It is loaded with 3/4 lb. of delicious, juicy shrimp. The service is excellent ,and the servers are always courteous and attend to customers' wishes. During the winter the inside is cozy with a fireplace and pub atmosphere. The real secret, though, is the outdoor terrace in the summer. The view is one of the best in the Twin Cities area, and the food quality and service remain the same. This restaurant is the best kept secret in Maple Grove dining.

The prime rib is absolutely tantilizing. The walleye is also something that has not been duplicated anywhere. The location has beautiful views and a very welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I find it very relaxing and elegant at the same time.

We went to the Highlander Grill for the first time earlier this week. The steak was great, as well as the walleye and pasta. Service was helpful and friendly, with a casual, relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!
