This place is my secret weapon in creating an awesome NYC apartment for cheap!!!! Tons cheaper than IKEA (which everyone in the world has... which means BORING to me!). They come to your house and put it all together for you! Where else does that happen? Whenever I used to get Ikea furniture, it would hang around for months before I even got around to putting the stuff together!!! What a chore! This place is Chinese owned so I think there is sometimes a small language barrier which some say is poor customer service but I just chalk it up to the cultural difference. The bottom line is you walk away with a the best DEAL!!!!! I've done my homework and I know how much other places are charging for their boring furniture.

Never pay full amount upfront in cash. The couch I bought was lovely and reasonably priced, but a damaged mirror was delivered to my apt, although I was promised a brand new one! When I called and politely asked for an exchange, the owner started yelling at me. She claimed that she told me that I would recieve a sample, which was a total lie. She never even mentioned anything about sample, and promised that I would recieve a brand new one- I asked her like 5 times!!! The worst part of all is that she started yelling at me like there is no tomorrow. I finally gave up since I didn't want her to ruin my whole day but well, this is probably how she's been making money. Too bad this is what you get for a deal in Chinatown... after all, my mirror was $200!!!

I ordered a couch last week and the delivery date was set for today. I took off from work and never received a call. I finally called at 3pm and they said it would be there by 5:00pm. The couch never came, so they said I would have to "reschedule" the delivery. I asked to have it deliverred first thing tomorrow and the lady started yelling at me and hung up on me. I called back, spoke to a guy, and he said it would be delivered tomorrow but he could not provide me with a time.

The furniture quality is pretty good, and price is reasonable, plus free delivery and assembly service, fast response.

Our first experience buying from Downtown Furniture was very positive. Bo handled our special order efficiently and was very accommodating. We have no hesitation recommending Downtown Furniture and will definitely shop there again.

found these guys online and went to the showroom very skeptical because prices were so low. compared same models elsewhere at much higher cost and that was not even counting that the delivery was free.
Won was my sales representative and she was very patient with me as I went there every day at lunch until I got exactly what I want.
Delivery was set for next week - set up professionally and free - great black leather couch - thank you
Pros: Big Selection for NYC store; Can not beat the prices
Cons: downtown but worth the trip

I recently relocated to NYC for a new job. Because I had to start work soon after I got here, I needed to furnish my new apartment quickly. I was happy to have found this place because they had a good selection and the prices were quite reasonable, but the best part was that they were able to deliver my entire order, which included a bed + mattress, dresser, couch set, coffee table, dinette set and a lamp, within three days. They sent 2 guys to deliver and put together everything, and even helped me position each piece the way i liked, at no extra cost. I was really pleased with the quality of my furniture, and everything was as advertised. I've sent 2 coworkers there already.
Pros: fast delivery, do all the work at NO extra costs

Pros: Reasonably priced couch. You can haggle.
Cons: Poor service. Contrary to what they tell you before you pay the, brand new product is NOT GUARANTEED!!!

This place has great DIVON furniture (the couches that comes apart) but not much else of a selection. The bad part of this place is the service. Forget about trying to actually find out when your furniture is getting delivered! I called every day for the last 10 days trying to gen an answer out of someone (with no avail) - to have them just show up in the middle of the day with a truckload of furntiture, with no notice whatsoever. The couch & table I bought are great, and I paid a great price - but they are unbelievably difficult to deal with.
Pros: Nice Divon furniture
Cons: staff is difficult to deal with
