This is the best thin crust pizza you can get in NYC and I really mean it when I say that it beats Brooklyn's Grimaldi's.
The pizza is amazing and the atmosphere is very cool and chic. And you do not even need to put up with the huge line

Pros: awesome pizza

Cons: very loud, crowded and wait staff isn't too friendly BUT

Had a great time there on a recent Friday night. I wasn't expecting a rectangular pizza but apparently that's how they make 'em here. I was very pleasantly surprised. They weren't skimpy with the toppings, the sauce and cheese were very good and the pizza just tasted very fresh. Have to admit that we had leftovers and the pizza tasted even better the next day. Not cheap, but worth it for what you get.

Great location on Stone St, this is consistently amazing pizza. Closest thing I can find to Lombardi's, which is my fav. Nice setting, friendly servers, cool vibe make this place a no brainer for anyone living in the neighborhood.

My wife and I stayed Downtown for the night and were informed that Adrienne's Pizza Bar was the place to go for great Italian. We walked in and were very excited to try the Pizza. We ordered the Antipasto to share and were very disappointed. The plate was ice cold and asked if the food were newly prepared we were told yes. Low and behold the plate was taken from the cooler and served to us. Disappointment has set in. The waiter was a YES man. Every question we asked the answer was yes, not an honest answer. The Pizza was OK, not as great as our recommendations.

We will stick to some of the other traditional pizza haunts in NYC.

Live nearby and absolutely love Adrienne's. We've gone there several dozen times at this point, and have taken many of our visitors there. Everyone is always thoroughly impressed. A Long Island native pizza connoisseur dubbed it the best pepperoni pizza he'd ever had. You may have to wait awhile for delivery, but they're usually up-front about delays. We've never experienced any problems with the service there, and even if we had, I don't think it'd matter. It's that good. Old Fashioned Pepperoni.

i just moved to the Financial District and have been checking out places in the neighborhood. Stone Street is HOPPING. The happy hours there are a little too meat-markety for me, but it's pretty much worth it for the pizza at Adrienne's. My boyfriend and I had one of the old fashioned pies that had sausage on, and it was a-mah-zing. I'll probably stick to delivery from here on in since the interior's a little sterile for my taste, but the pizza really is some of the best I've ever had.

My husband works in the Financial Districy and he has been telling me about the best pizza he's ever had--Adrienne's Pizza. Well, i finally made it out toeat with him last week, and he was not exaggerating one bit! The pizza at Adrienne's was honestly the best pizza I've ever put in my mouth!!! We ordered two pizzas: the margherita pizza and the four cheese pizza. Both were beyond delicious and lived up to everything my husband had described!! We are thrilled to have friends coming in town soon and we are going to shpow them exactly why NYC is known for its pizza--we are taking them to eat the best pizza in nyc at Adrienne's!!

I ordered from this place and loved the pizza, so when I heard it was on the happening Stone Street a couple of friends and I decided to check it out. Stone Street is a great hangout and Adrienne's is great pizza and friendly service! The anitpasta plates looked amazing too, and there was a decent selection of wines by the glass for about $8 average, not too bad in a place that seems like it could jack its prices up b/c of all the yuppies around! Definitely recommend. The old-fashioned pizza is square and a little thicker (good for 3 people) and the 10-inches are SUPER thin, so good for 1 hungry person or 2 people.

I think the pizza is really good but I have to say we stopped ordering because the staff can care less... On many occasions they have been rude , have been put on hold and after waiting 5 mins called back and got helped , for delivery you can call at 7 am and they still give you an outrageous windown between 1-4 pm ...( i'm exaggerating but just a bit) and all this on like a wed. ...forget Fri ....I think the creator had a great idea but it's a shame that he is allowing his staff to run it into the ground.....eventually everyone will get fed up and this issue will have to be addressed.....Customer Service Nightmare!!!!!!!!

Though the food is delicious (when they get the order straight) the service is a great disappointment.
The last 6 times we have ordered a vegetarian pizza, it has had sausage on it.
The staff does not seem to care at all about this at all.
When we have eaten in the restaurant, the service is also quite brisk and terse.
Though we have loved the food, we will not return again.
If you want good service, forget about Adrienne's.
If you don't mind being treated rudely or having sausage on your vegetarian pizza, enjoy!

I called to order one pie and was forced to order a minimum of 2 for delivery. I was ok with that, even though it cost me $35 per pie. Then i called back not 2 min later to change one of my pies from toppings to plain and was told I could not. I was told that even if the pies are not made yet they were "stacked" and could not be changed, but they said it was not a problem for me to order an additional pie. 3 pies of pizza should not cost almost a $100. Especially when I could name 10 pizza places in NY that are far better. AVOID THIS PLACE!

This place has great pizza, but unfortunately the manager and the host have no experience in customer service and it seems as though they don't care about any of their customers...or at least the ones that come in parties of 3. Recently, I went to this pizza place and the host assured us that after 20 minutes she would have a table ready for us. However, we were waiting for 40 minutes and she let 5 other parties cut us even though we had been there first---just because they were parties of 2, 4 or 5 and the restaurant has tables set up that way. I will never go to this place again. When my party tried to reason with the manager, he refused to listen to us and was even starting to become loud and unnecessarily rude. I am sad to say that this was the worst experience I have had in New York City dinning after three years of living in the City. My party left the restaurant with a disgust for how the place is run and hopefully you will not have this experience if you go there. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I would not write a review but Adrienne's is by far my favorite pizza anywhere. The square pie is great, I reccomend it to everyone I know and they all have loved it. As far as the serive, they get very busy sometimes (due to the great pizza!) but the manager is very nice and accomodating and the pizza is worth the wait.

Adrienne's was highly recommended and I wasn't disappointed. The pizza, served unconventionally square, was delicious. The quality and texture of the crust, sauce and cheese made the pizza one of the best I've tasted in a long time. Wait staff went out of their way to serve us, bringing lots of ice water since we were thirsty from the hot day. Seating outside when weather allows, this is a true find in the financial district.

The only experience I've had with Adrienne's is on the ordering side, as I work at a downtown business. They are not very nice on the phone, but then this is New York, and cannot give you a time when your pizza will arrive.
I suggest calling at least 3 hours before you want your pizza.

And though it isn't my personal favorite pizza in the world, I know a lot of people who think it's a treat.

If you have never been and can't understand the extremes in how this place is rated:

1) if you think authentic Italian "family style" pizza made with exceptionally fresh ingredients is delicious, you are going to be glad you came here. Staff is extremely courteous and professional, unless you are a total a"hole (see below) and should try Pizza Hut instead anyway.

2) if you are fresh off the U-haul from Ohio or Michigan, probably working at a local Wall St firm doing a job you think might get you a decent job there one day in the future, then try Ulysees instead cos then you will receive the fast food you want, freshly microwaved from its Made In China vacuum pack, and you can still get to hang out on Stone St and feel important. Plus, don't confuse your obnoxious behavior for rudeness from the staff.

My boyfriend and I have been regulars at Adrienne?s pizza bar for the past year and we never had any kind of problems with their pizza or the rest of their dishes. We love the Portobello Salad and the Romana pizza is out of this world, our favorite cocktail is the Nutella Tini. We admit that the service is not always consistent, however every time either Irene or Mimosa served us our dining experience was delightful. They are very sweet and charming. We also appreciated the knowledge in wines of their ex-bartender Mike from Australia.
We definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Even though the pizza and the salads that I have tasted were pretty good, Adrienne's will defenitely not get my business because of their crappy service. They are rude and don't care about the costumer, they could care less if your not satisfied, and thats not how a business should run. I dont recommend coming here to anyone whos considering it!

I went here as part of a group lunch, dreading every moment because #1 - the lunch was going to be in the financial district and #2 - it was going to be pizza. To my delight, I found the outdoor cafe ambience to be probably the best in the city. NY, unlike Europe, does not have many narrow cobblestone streets left, much less streets that are blocked to traffic. It makes for the ideal outdoor eating situation, far better than the table set on a sidewalk that is wafted with car fumes. I could have been in Cinque Terre. The tableware is elegant, if you care about such visual and tactile pleasures. An earlier poster mentioned they didn't think it possible to be addicted to an arugula salad. They are right. This light salad leaves an astonishing impression. The pizza is on par with Patsy's, if not better. As for the service complaints, I understand both sides. The place is popular and they want to keep people moving yet the atmosphere is so viscerally pleasant you really want to linger.

There is no denying the pizza is above par. That said, the staff is horrible. The first time we ordered from this place, they took an hour to deliver to us (we are less than a mile away) and the delivery man looked at his tip of 4.00 and said, "Yeah, that's OK). It's a 10 minute walk to our house, if that.

The next time we ordered was last night. We asked for a half and half, they said no. We asked for a large white, they said no. We finally ordered their Bufalina pizza (10 inches at 15.00). They deliver us a pizza (over an hour later) with a bill of 32.00 and tried to tell us that was the price because the Bufalina Mozzerella was "extra" and because it was slightly bigger than tjheir average pie. When we told him this was ridiculous, he told us he could not "cancel" our credit card and we had to take it. We didn't but what a hassle.

There are enough quality establishments in this city to not have to deal with rude managers and delivery men. Don't bother.

The pizza and salads are good. The waitstaff is horrible; Cold, and rude. They must hate serving the Wall Street traders who work nearby but why take it out on everyone else? I also ordered take-out from them twice and the first time was fine but they botched it up completely the second time and the manager wasn't cool about it.

Don't get me wrong: the pizza at Adrienne's is pretty good and the ambiance within the place is nice too, but the service in there is nothing short of despicable. While I understand having to stand in line for a good restaurant, I do not understand being rushed from your table after eating. I have dined in Adrienne's during the lunch and dinner hour multiple times and the same thing happens all the time - the waiter/waitress comes over barking at my party to pay the check and leave because other customers are waiting. Now I, like every other New Yorker, has had to wait in line for seating in a good restaurant. However, I have never had to endure being asked to leave when there is still wine in my glass, after I stood line line for 20 minutes to get my table. The food is good, but its not good enough to put up with distasteful service. I won't be a customer there going forward nor would I ever take clients or do a company function there.

I'm not sure where the complaints have come from regarding the staff, but they're always nice and seem genuinly pleased to see us whenever we show up. The manager in particular is probably the friendliest restauranteur I have yet encountered in Manhattan - he always comes over to offer a handshake and a smile. The food is awesome, but the crowds are sometimes offputting. All in all, I'll surely keep going back.

This place has great pizza, but the environment leaves a little to be desired. VERY tight quarters, and clearly an after work hang out for the financial types. Since I live in the area, I wish it was a little less after-worky, but the pizza is very tasty!!

My boyfriend and I have been faithful customers for the past two years, ever since we moved to the neighborhood. The pizza is consistently great, the service is warm and friendly, and Jason the manager couldn't be a greater guy--he always gives us a personal "hello," stops to talk to us, and seems genuinely happy to see us. I cannot understand the negative reviews about management--to me, it is one of the things that makes this restaurant stand out.

Pros: delicious pizza, excellent service, great management

Cons: none!

I went here with some pals for dinner, and we allreally enjoyed it. We decided to go to Ulysses afterward, and since it's right next door, it was quite convenient.
We three split a pepporoni pizza and a four cheese, both of which were really delicious! The pizza is more gourmet, less Domino's, and we split a bottle of wine as well.
It's always been crowded when I've tried to go, so get there early or you will probably wait.

I went here for the first time the other night. I had heard great things from people who hang out around there for happy hour or who lived in that area. The pizza is truly great pan pizza. I still prefer a slice of NY style for the quick bite, but Adriannes toppings, cheese, and sauces are put together nicely.

I took a friend to Adrienne's for his birthday. The food was great and service was great UP until the end. Only a few minutes after we paid the bill, the "Manager" came up and asked us to leave, repeatedly saying "sorry, i waited ten minutes, i've got such a line". I was horrified!!! I have never, ever experienced anything like it. No decent restaurant would EVER dream of asking a paying customer to leave in order to take in more business. These people are making a HUGE mistake. The best restaurants understand that the trick to being a successful restaurant and increasing the ability to up the fee for dining is QUALITY not quantity. I'm calling the manager today and will probably write a letter.

Went there last night with a small group. The food was very good, but the manager hustled us out the door because he had another party who was "eyeing our table" (the manager's words). We ordered dessert and we'd been eating our ice cream "for 15 minutes" We were shocked at being treated so rudely and refused to pay the bill. On the way out, our waiter muttered "thanks for the tip, guys." Don't thank us, thank your manager. Overall: RUDEST manager I've ever encountered in 10 years of dining at NYC restaurants. NOT recommended under any circumstances.

It's really incredible that this is any New Yorker's idea of great pizza.
Don't get me wrong - Adrienne's uses good ingredients, and the pizza is tasty (if greasy), but this is nothing you couldn't find at nicer pizza joints around the country.
And in a town with classic joints like DiFara, Patsy Grimaldi's and Lombardi's (not to mention passable and occasionally fantastic slices on every other corner), there's just no reason to settle.
On the other hand, although the service is dicey, for takeout in the Wall St. area, it's a solid upscale choice that will probably impress the financial analysts on your floor.

Pros: Decent fancy pizza, convenient take out for Wall St.

Cons: greasy, poor service

Adrienne's has absolutely amazing pizza (the square pies - I've never had the personal, round ones). Yes, at lunch time it can be extremely crowded and the waiters and waitresses are expected to move people along as quickly as possible. I have been reading some of the other reviews and people are so angry over the service there at lunch time, but I can't quite feel sympathetic towards them as it really should not be a surprise. Anyone who has ever walked in or by there at that time should understand why diners are expected to eat and leave - this is not a time for leisurely dining. For that, go at night.

I've never had any of their food other than the pizza, so I cannot comment on that, but I will say that for the year and a half that I have been going there, I have only had 1 bad experience (as in, my order hadn't been placed and I had to wait for more than an hour) but many, many delicious pizzas. I love this place.

.

I love this place but I would never dine here during lunchtime. It's just too small and too crowded. It's great at night though especially in good weather when you can dine outside on Stone Street. The quattro formaggio pizza is the best. I wouldn't recommend the regular cheese ravioli but the baked dishes are good.

is how willing people are to accept miserable service. The pizza is good, the rest of the food is just average. I haven't been treated this rudely anywhere else downtown during the lunch rush. The waitress literally threw the check and it landed on the floor. When we refused to climb under the table and get it for her she printed another one. They don't have bread to serve with their pasta dishes, so be sure to bring your own loaf. I work across the street and I will NEVER go there again. We used to order pies for meetings, but not anymore. We'll give our money to people who treat their customers like human beings. Their pizza is not worth putting up with the attitude of the entire staff.

I am a frequent customer and I am amazed how some people just cant understand how busy this place
is day-to-day and how they impressively are able to satisfy customers (even when so packed).. I read the previously 2 reviews, and found it interesting how they said they were seated immediately and order taken....then from the time they were finished felt rushed and rudely treated.
I have had the exact same situation happen to me (check being dropped and after a couple minutes manager came over and asked for the table)..I dont know the manager, but by looking at the waiting line i can understand why... If i was on that line and I would want the same courtesy to know they (host and manager) are working diligently to get us seated....
And to talk about the pizza being poor< come on, before adriennes had opened, I had no choice to eat the pizza in the area and you know as well as i do that ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ADRIENNES....
I will go back, and back and back...

If you're looking to leave your office for a relaxing lunch break, look elsewhere! While we were quickly seated and served promptly, the waitress was rude and inattentive. The check came before we even had a chance to ask for a refill on our empty glasses. The pizza was ok, but excessively greasy, and two members of the restaurant staff tried to grab our check before we had even had a chance to put money in it. The manager rudely asked us to leave because he "had more people to feed." He said he didn't care if we left a tip or not because we "aren't the only people taking a lunch break."

I will never go back and don't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to get away from the office for a break.

Today my colleagues and I went for lunch at Adrienne's. We were treated rudely by all levels there.

We received the bill in the middle of our meal, even though the waitress never bothered to ask if we needed anything else. After she brought the bill, a number of their staff tried taking the folder with the bill to hurry us along. We could not even relax during our meal.

Then a rude and abrasive manager came over and told us to hurry up because he had people waiting in line to eat. (I guess we did not count!)

If I had known that Adrienne's was supposed to be "fast" food--I would have gone to the corner "pizza by the slice" place and would have paid a more reasonable price and would have been treated more politely.

Absolutely terrible service. Hostess was rude, waitress was rude, manager was rude-pizza was cold and undercooked when it came. If this is an atmosphere that they are trying to cultivate they should reconsider. Listen the pizza is okay(just) but this is NY city-its not that good. They got a lot of positive buzz because they were a new "thing" in the restaurant starved Financial District. That is not enough. Would never ever return. Will tell everyone I know not to waste their time and money.

This is one of the restaurants that makes Stone St. a destination. The pizza is great, with thin-crusted rectangular slices and original recipes. The price is a bit on the high side, but really, you're in New York (and probably work on Wall St. if you're going here). Everything is expensive. The one pitfall is that this place is almost always crowded, especially if you're trying to get outdoor seating in the summer. On days like that or during the happy hours, you're better off getting delivery.

If you are looking for a quick, cheap slice you are at the wrong place. If you want some of the best gourmet pizza, imported italian wine, and a chill, loungey atmosphere then come here. This has to be the nicest pizza place in the city, and their food is definitely a step above the rest. I would definitely recommend this place.

The service is polite, but fast. Certainly quick enough as to allow you to enjoy the TERRIFIC pizza before heading back to work.

A pie with toppings will feed 3 people just fine and at a low price. Expect to get away with food and drink for around ten bucks.

Pretty good deal for a top notch lunch

At least, the "old fashioned" square pie is great. I haven't tried the other varieties yet, because this one is too good. Excellent pepperoni, the thick kind. Delicious chewy-crispy crust. The pasta entrees I have tried are average, so I keep going back to that pizza. This is a slick, modern little spot that gets loud on Friday nights. In warm weather, you can eat outside on at tables set up on the cobblestones of charming, historic Stone Street. Excellent for Financial District takeout. My only complaint - no delivery to Battery Park City!

Some people complain about service, but in all honesty, that depends on your waiter/waitress... always.

Our waiter was attentive, offered to set up an umbrella on our table when he noticed the sun was getting overwhelming, and consistently checked on our drink levels to make sure we never needed to ask for a refill.

As for the pizza, it was excellent. Not the usual NYC style brick oven, the pizza was big enough to satisfy, had an airy, crispy crust, and is served as a rectangular pie. The toppings were great, and i left stuffed and satisfied.

Sitting outside with a cold beer, great pizza, and on a pedestrian street gives this place an atmosphere that can't be contended with most NYC spots.

Definitely a good sunday spot, and great for families.

If you are looking for good pizza, this is the place. If you are looking for any kind of customer service - forget it. Rude manager and staff, long waits for orders, and no slices (on and off, used to have them, now they don't). I guess when you do a lot of business - as these guys do since it's always packed - you can afford to skimp on small things like customer service.

If the pizza wasn't so good I would give it a 0 rating.
