I purchased tickets in advance to attend the New Years Eve party 2012. I paid approximately $240 for three tickets. Upon arrival to Impala, we waited patiently in line for 30 minutes on an incline verses the flat sidewalk on Broadway.

I've only been here a few times, and I had an awesome time there! The music was great and the crowd was good too. Everyone is friendly and not all over you. I'll go there again for sure!

This place has to be one of the best Happy Hour spots in SF. you get a good mix of people here from the financial district crowd to bridge and tunnel people, and even some tourists. The atmosphere is lively, the drinks are strong, and the people are beautiful.

I have been to Impala before and it's generally a good time but they really take care of you for VIP services. The event coordinator is very helpful and will make sure you have a great time. I have ordered bottle service a dozen times

they have cheap tapas and drinks on tuesdays i think.. $2 tuesdays or something like that. perfect for those who work in the financial district - you can hit it up after work with your co-workers. OR, if you wanted.. they have speed dating on wednesday nights. it is a cool place with a relaxed vibe.

They charged a $10 Cover charge, and then the downstairs was closed off for a private party, and thats the only area for dancing! I basically paid money to sit in a restaurant. When we left (quickly) I tried to warn the people in line

If your on broadway and just want an overpriced small pour cocktail then the decor here is cool. The VIP Hostess is AWESOME! However, that was not enough to save this venue for me. Food is standard quality but way too overpriced! $23 for 6 grilled shrimp on skewars! Do not eat dinner here! And if you try to have dinner late, the manager will come kick you out of your table as soon as you finish to make room for the VIP tables for the night.

I went to Impala expecting typical, sloppy, mexican food...that's not what we got. We got amazing food that I would expect to only get at restaurants like Michael Mina and Gary Danko. We ordered a NY strip special and my husband ordered the Salmon and both were amazing!!!! We were suprised to see so many raw dishes on the appetizers as well as a choice of a couple ceviches. The drinks were okay and the wine list was average. Don't expect four star service, but our server was very nice.

Being from Las Vegas, I havn't been able to find a good place to dine that also offers a excellent lounge. This place was perfect. All the beautiful people in San Franciso must of been there.
The food was very tasty, the presentation was great, and the service was timely and courteous.
After dinner we stayed and purchased a bottle downstairs in their VIP lounge. This has got to be the hottest lounge in San Francisco. Red lights and candles surrounded the room. The sound system was perfect.
Their were two DJs, spinning both upstairs and downstairs they offered a variety of music.
For all you San Franciscans looking for the Vegas experience I higly recomend Impala

WOW!!! My dinner at impala started with the best chips, salsa, and guacamole in the city. I had the tuna tartare with plantains, and my friend had the gordita... the tuna was impeccably fresh, and came with a pomegranate sauce, I wanted to try the gordita; but my friend devowerd it before I could get my hands on it. I ordered local halibut off the chefs "special menu" that is hand written daily, it came with mango and peanut salsa and coffee oil. My friend ordered the sloppy jose (a cute little play on a sloppy joe). Both entrees were absolutely perfect. The chef came out and talked to our table for a little bit which made the meal (the young chefs good looks were reason enough to go back)
Impala is one, if not the, best restaurant in the city!!!

Every time I go to Impala, people are debating with bouncers about why a friend cant be let in. Group parties are forced to break up because one or two friends wanted to wear sandals out on one of the view warm evenings in SF. Impala has a dress code that does not waiver and could give a damn about the overall good time of a group party that would have otherwise stayed all night and dropped serious cash (maybe even fell for bottle service - $275 to get a table and bottle, then an additional 1 bottle minimum per 4 people in your party. 5 of us are supposed to pound two bottles of vodka. I suppose they would have kicked us out by the end of the evening for being too drunk from all the alcohol we were required to consume).

The chips they brought us were to salty everyone was wiping the chips off before eating them, our mojitos were just disgusting they tasted like we were chewing on mint leaves; I tried another drink that had patron in it & this drink was gross too, I gave up on their drink & started drinking Coronas.
The empanadas were really good, the beef enchilada was ground beef that came looking like a tostadas this was ok. The chicken tacos were really really dry. The Mexican rice was still hard where you could tell they didn't cook it long enough & it lacked flavor. The steak was ok... I wish the server came around enough so we could order more items & drinks, the busers were move helpful. I wish the experience was better I really like the atmosphere on the people & restaurant.

My wife and I just visited Impala to try their new menu. I was, to say the least, ecstatic about the new options. The menus look incredible to begin with; and with its added depth I had trouble choosing from all the choices. We shared all our apps and entrees and after devouring the flan I was finally satisfied. Everything was excellent, the service was phenomenal; we can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

We were visitng from NYC and someone recommended this new restaurant to us. we called on two separate occasions and were unable to speak directly with someone to make a reservation for later that evening. A recorded message instructs you to leave your cellphone number, how many in your party and when you would like to make a resrevation for. The message states that someone will call you right bak. We didn't receive a return phone call until the following day after we had were picking up luggage in the NYC airport. Who wants to eat a place that won't even answer the phone?!?!?!

All of my girlfriends and I frequent this place almost every weekend!! The new menu is great, and there is always a hip, trendy crowd. I would definitely make online reservations through the website though.

Impala Restaurant is the quintessential bridge & tunnel spot. The concept is good, restaurant upstairs, lounge downstairs but it didn't work for me. There were a number of bouncers at the door which I still can't explain. In fact when our group was leaving the restaurant we were told we needed to exit through the back door. As far as dinner itself, the food looked like it should taste great but it was bland and disappointing. At least the chips and salsa were good. Impala does have an extensive tequila selection and my margarita was good but pretty expensive. I will not be returning. There are far too many better restaurants and night spots in SF.

This place is great if you want to have a great meal and not have to leave to find a hot & sexy scene. The food was tasty, I especially like the tacos! The scene was hot with an attractive and eclectic group of people at the bar. The underground VIP lounge was also amazing. The room looked straight out of a music video with the whole crowd jamming to the DJ.

WE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME AT IMPALA ON FRIDAY NIGHT THAT WE WENT BACK SATURDAY TOO. FRIDAY NIGHT WE CAME IN EARLY FOR AN INCREDIBLE DINNER (QUESADILLAS AND THE AL PASTOR!) AND SOME REALLY GOOD MARGARITAS. THEN WE WENT DOWNSTAIRS TO THE LOUNGE FOR BOTTLE SERVICE AND DANCING. SATURDAY NIGHT WE GOT IN A LITTLE LATE SO WE HAD TO PAY COVER, BUT THE BOUNCER COLLECTING OUR MONEY WAS NOT ONLY GORGEOUS, BUT THE MOST POLITE BOUNCER IVE ENCOUNTERED IN 10 YEARS OF CLUBBING. ASIDE FROM BEING PACKED SATURDAY NIGHT, IT WAS THE SAME QUALITY SERVICE, DRINKS, AND ACCOMADATIONS AS THE NIGHT BEFORE.

I would not recommend eating at Impala. This is a great place to have drinks and lounge but not for dinner. Portions were small and not very flavorful. Skip the meal and have a drink. Or maybe just skip all together.

I applaud the dream.... good food, great vibe, sexy people. Unfortunately, the servers behave like used car salesman. They dont tell you upfront but those margaritas are $80 a pitcher (weak too). The food has potential. Mine was cold, but I figure they will remedy this over time. On the positive side, local strippers frequent the lounge downstairs from 9-11PM. J
