Soci (which means partners in Italian) has been in the greenlake area since 1999. The owners Gloria Prinz and Deb Bethea, have created a comfortable upbeat atmosphere where men and women can expect the very latest cuts, colors and special occasion styles. Soci also offers manicures and pedicures, as well as permanent makeup. Soci is also excited to have Absolute Beauty by Rebecca Wendfelt. Rebecca specializes in facials, waxing, and was voted "number one" in Lucky magazine for her eyebrow artistry.
Soci Hair Studio have the very best stylists in the city of Seattle and beyond that area.
I moved out of Seattle this year but I wanted to let potential customers know about this salon's knowledgeable, excellent service, and to recommend any of the stylists working there. Also I would like to let the staff at Soci know the appreciation felt to all regarding their helpful advice and services over the years.
Stylists at Soci are artists and work with you to be sure you are happy with whatever you want, whether it is a certain style, product, or consultation. Customers leaving the salon always have a smile on their faces. Also noticably are the regulars, showing they know where to go for the best service. The products offerd are top notch. The staff are friendly, considerate, listen to what you have to say, and aim to please. I would recommend this salon to anyone needing hair consulatiion, cutting, styling, or coloring, and also any tweezing, (there are always rave reviews from Gloria's customers on her eyebrow styling). And there are also excellent skin care serrvices.

I moved to the Seattle area for a year and had to find a good hair stylist. Because I was here temporarily, I didn't want to make many mistakes; I wanted to find someone right off the bat. I originally heard about Soci via a Seattle Magazine article that listed them as best for reasonably-priced highlights. I went there for highlights in my blonde hair and have been going back for cuts and highlights for a year. Gloria, one of the owners, cuts my hair and does the highlights. She has done an excellent job every single time. She has made some subtle changes here and there when I wanted them. She's friendly, intelligent, talkative without being inane, and, most of all, very, very competent and talented.

This is a great salon. I followed my stylist, Zan to this location a while back. There isn't a receptionist to great you at the door, but generally your stylist gives you a nod or a wave to let you know she will be with you in a second. The salon is clean, the staff professional, the service is good. I've been going to Zan for over four years now and, I'd recommend her to anyone. She's really nice, and she listens to what you want. See someone at Soci and you will probably have good results.

I have been seeing Shannon since I moved to Seattle in 2002. I have followed her from salon to salon and am pleased she found her home at Soci. I have worked in salons as a receptionist and have tried all kinds of cuts, styles and colors and she, more than anyone else has ever done, is able to make what I have in mind a reality. I would recommend her to anyone.

Soci Hair Studio is a cute little neighborhood salon -- a nice change from the larger, more corporate feeling places. Shannon Cotton is truly a gem when it comes to haircuts and color. She is a bordering-on-obsessive perfectionist who wants to make sure that each and every one of her clients looks great and leaves happy. She has been coaching me through growing my hair out (I've had short hair for 15 years), and is keeping me sane with the occasional expert trim and fabulous partial foils to keep me focused and my hair healthy. Also, I really appreciate that she offers organic color. I would highly recommend Shannon and Soci.

I have seen Diana for quite some time now and I adore her. The facials and waxing I recieve are wonderful. My skin always looks so great after seeing her and she takes time to get to know what my skin needs for that visit. She waxes my brows and does an exceptional job. My brow shape is perfect everytime. I have visited other people who leave wax on my face but I never have to worry about that when I see Diana. She is a wonderful, professional, exceptional facialist and you will love her services!!!

SHANNON COTTON is SIMPLY THE BEST STYLIST I'VE EVER FOUND! - Before relocating here in 2006, I?d lived and worked in the NYC-Princeton-Philadelphia areas. I?ve been to many upscale salon stylists over the years, and I usually will watch the stylists at work before choosing to book an appointment. Shannon is much better than any former stylists I?ve frequented. Since finding this stylist I can finally style my CURLY HAIR in a flash and the style holds throughout the entire day and evening. I requested a style that would be easy but professional and that is what Shannon achieved. I suggested to my husband, who has poker-straight fine hair, that he visit Shannon for a haircut. Interestingly, she also worked magic on his hair type!
Because Shannon offers ORGANIC DYE, I travel from Puyallup for a cut and color. I wanted an organic color and Mode was the only choice I found back then--I chose Shannon because I heard she was known for her ability with curly hair. I respected her work enough to follow her when she moved her workplace. The organic color that Shannon uses works so well on my resistant grays, and the auburn color doesn?t turn brassy like the dye most salons use! But, if common chemical color is what you want, she has that available.
Beyond her ability to style hair she knows how to listen, communicate, make you feel welcome and appreciated. She is a positive person who uses her natural gift to its fullest while maintaining an understated personality in favor of her clients. I highly recommend her for any type of hair.
Pros: Shannon equals excellence in ability, personality, and in value. Relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Street parking, though it is in a semi-residential area.

I was new to Seattle and needed a cut and color! I came across Soci on City Search and the reviews were so great I made an appointment! I have now been in Seattle for a couple years and Kim is still my hair stylist! Soci is comfortable and everyone is friendly! My hair always looks fabulous! I always have people asking me where i had it done! Kim always does exactly what I want, even if I don't know what that is when I walk in:) I highly recommend Kim and Soci Hair Studio!

I was referred by a friend to have my hair fixed by Kim. i had the color done elsewhere and was unhappy with it and was sure i'd have to live with it. My friend told me to see Kim who had been doing her hair for 7 years and had fixed her color before. I did and have healthy, happy hair again. The process was more simple than I expected and my color is great. i would recommend Kim to anyone.

I followed Shannon Cotton to Soci from Mode and I would follow her anywhere. I originally got her name from a website for people with naturally curly hair that said she was the best in Seattle and I totally agree! I seriously had never in my life had a good haircut until I found Shannon and now I get compliments on my naturally curly hair all the time.

I read the reviews on this site and decided to have my color and cut fixed by Kim. I had it done elsewhere and felt like it may be a helpless situation. She was able to fit me in the next day and gave me many options to a solution. My hair not only looked better than i expected but it felt healthier than before . I am more than pleased and scheduled my next appointment to maintain this beautiful color and cut. The salon was very relaxing and easy to find coming from Bellevue.

I wore my hair the same style for years until Nasrin suggested I try something different. I'm so pleased with my new style and look. It's hip ,current and fits my age,personality and face.

I saw Rachel for a facial and had a great experience. She made me feel right at home and has a very gentle touch. Her room is truly a minature oasis. Nice colors, decor, and fantastic music. Very relaxing..I'm feeling sleepy just thinking about it! Have also had her do my brows and was very pleased with the results. Will definitely see her again.

Cons: Easy to miss the building when driving down the street. Better signage would help.

I checked out this salon solely based on reviews I read online, which obviously, seemed positive. And I never thought I'd post something, but really felt compelled to after my very negative experience here.
All I can say is, I must have found myself somewhere different to the salon described above. Although I was early for my appointment, the stylist was apologising to her next client that she was "running a bit late" as I was returning from having my hair washed. This doesn't bode well for a good haircut - knowing she feels rushed, and you're not even combed out yet somehow on borrowed time - especially as you've warned her in advance of your long hair that needs a good cut - which you've discussed. After about five minutes - literally - of her time, and barely a quarter of an inch off, I left looking far worse than I'd arrived. On top of that she was short, bordering on rude - I wondered if it's just the regular clients that deserve the good treatment I read about?
I'm fairly new to Seattle and I know this isn't indicative of everyone - but here's a warning: don't believe all you read. Friends in their postings can boost someone's ratings very high, when in reality, service - and standards - can be pretty poor.

I have seen Kim and Zan for my services. They are so professional and always make time to fit me in. They have over 10 years experience and it shows! I am always pleased with my color and haircut and they are always sharing new ideas with me. I recommend either Kim or Zan to anyone who wants to find a stylist who is consistent, professional and experienced.

O.K., after months of being hounded by my wife and her girlfriends friends to get my hair styled at Soci again (I went to other salons for a few months) I went back to Gloria. Wow! Let me say it again: WOW!! From Gloria (bella Siciliana!) I am getting absolutely the best hair cut/styling I have ever had - (she gets better and better).......but Gloria isn't the only great stylist: I've seen Deb, Ari & Danny make their clients look drop dead gorgeous. They do amazing work. Try this place --- my bet is that you'll never go anywhere else. Great for both men and women of all ages.

Nasrin was just great. Excellent hair cut/styling. Great atmosphere at this location. Pleasant environment combined with the outcome of being a happy customer will lead to my returning. Could add so much more, but you have to try it to arrive at the same conclusion. Nasrin is well trained and seeks customer's input on what is required. I am one happy customer.
Pros: Great staff - Nasrin is one great stylist.
Cons: Parking, but you will find it in 5 minutes not to worry.

I was referred to Kim by a friend and was so happy with my experience. I was able to get in quickly and in the evening ! She had many suggestions for me and was very professional. The salon is in a convenient location and is very comfortable. I would recommend Kim to anyone and will to many of my friends! I love my color and cut!

I started seeing Shanan for brow waxing, and had such good experiences with her, I decided to try a facial. I am so glad that I did! I swear it was the only time all month that I was able to relax. And my skin glowed afterwards! Shanan has a way of putting you at ease while giving you the knowledge you need to better care for your skin. I highly recommend her. Zan is also great with cuts and highlights!

I recently moved to Seattle and was having a hard time finding a good stylist. A friend recommened that I go to Soci and my stylist was Zan. She was so relaxed and professional. She knew exactly what to do with my hair.

Customer service please!!! My husband and I came from out of town and we were in need of hair services. It was at the last minute but we thought it might worth a try since they have some positive reviews. At the salon there was no one care to ask if they could help us. Everyone seemed to be doing their own thing and no receptionist. After standing in the middle of the dark uninviting salon for at least 10 minutes, we decided it was enough so we left to the Green Lake Salon located near by. We just hope the rest of Seattle businesses aren't like this. We have had better service in New York City!!!

I had been searching for awhile for a good hair cut, and a friend swore by Soci. I don't even live near Greenlake but will make the drive any day, to have my hair cut and colored by Michelle. She is an amazing stylist, listens exactly to what you want and executes it better than you imagined! Everyone that comes in seems to love the place!

Hi I am Jason, I am 33 years old and I live by greenlake in seattle. I have tried so many salons in seattle and in the greenlake area. I had ok hair cuts and ok service until I happend upon Soci hair studio. I walked in one evening to be greeted by a beautiful brunette named Gloria. Gloria owns the salon, Gloria really knew what she was doing my hair looked great finally a style cut. Gloria was also smart, funny, and very charming. Guys you gotta check it out.

A gem of a neighborhood salon! I thought it was a secret until I saw the "Best in Greenlake/Seattle" designation. My friends and I have followed our stylists around from salon to salon for years--it's nice for them to have found a relaxed, comfortable, and convenient home.
