Absolutly the worst!! After being quoted three different prices in the store because the sales girl didn't seem to know what she was doing they give me a discount to reflect the middle price. They told me it would be delivered in 4-6 weeks, at week 7 after i called them, they said it is ready, so week 8 it is deliverd only they can't get it in so i have to reschedule. They told me i need a 3 hour block of time so they can take it apart and put it back together. The following week they come and after 4 hours they can't put it together. Had they told me it was so difficult to take apart and put together i would never have bought it. I just want my money back and now they are telling me that it is impossible to return the sofa and get my money back. I've moved many times and the movers always take apart my furniture and put it back together again, easily. Why is this so hard, had someone told me that when i bought it i would never have bought it. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!!!!!! I'm so upset about this whole ordeal, i just want my money back!! I hope the owners know what's going on!!

I've never had this easy of a time buying any piece of furniture. Period. You walk in, all the models are out on display, you look and sit and test, and then you customize. The service couldn't have been better. Distant when I obviously wanted space and attentive when I obviously needed help. They helped me customize every last detail down to the nail head -- literally. I ended up with an extra deep, velvet tufted sofa. It's the center piece of my home. I'd recommend this place to anyone. I just wish they made beds and tables too.

I walk by this place like twice a week, but never bother going in. Yesterday I finally did and I fell in love with there couches. The fact that you can customize them is the greatest idea ever. I was in a rush so I didnt have time to sit on them, but they look even better in person then online.The only bad thing is that theres not price list online or in store, or even an estimate. So can anyone give me a little info about the prices. I know it varies, but I would just like to know how much some of you spent on yours.Thanks!

i had such a great experience picking out my new sofa here the other day. there are tons of styles to choose from and countless fabric choices. i walked in knowing what style i wanted but was a little less than clear on the type of fabric i wanted on it. i simply mentioned what i was thinking of and in minutes the salesperson, Evana, had exactly the right swatch for me... she brought alternatives and gave me time to look at the swatches in different light. she even helped me decide on a paint color for the room that's going to look just right with the sofa (i had a number of paint chips with me). i loved the fact that i could pick what type of wood i wanted for the legs, the style of legs, and i was able to extend the length of the couch so that it worked best in my home. the prices are very reasonable too.

i'm really happy with my decision to buy from here and can't wait to get my sofa so i can enjoy it soon.

My husband and I have been looking for a specific style sofa and could not find it anywhere. Just a few minutes in their showroom we knew our searching was over. After customizing our sofa to both our liking we ended up with 2 custom chairs also. Our salesperson Alex was knowledgeable and very helpful and made our experience perfect. I highly recommend The Sofa Company to anyone planning on purchasing a sofa or chairs. Thanks once again Alex for being so patient with us while deciding on the hundreds of choices we had.

We loved shopping for our sofa here. They had plenty of options, Cherie, our salesperson, was fantastic (extremely helpful without any pressure), and the price was right. We left the store extremely happy and excited about our sofa.

However, you would think constructing our sofa was tantamount to building the international space station. We paid for the sofa on July 26, and they told us 4 to 6 weeks. It is now October 8.There were two delays on the fabric, and then when we called to see if our sofa was ready, they said it was, leaving us to wonder when they were going to bother to give us the news.

Granted, this is probably specific to the fabric we chose. I don't think the Sofa Co. is really responsible for the delay (and they even agreed to remove our old sofa for free because of the hassle), but it would be nice if they knew which of their fabric offerings were available and which were not before one ordered the sofa.

Don't hesitate to go there - particularly if Cherie is there to help you. But ask a lot of questions about when exactly you are going to get your sofa, and hold them to it.

I had a great experience researching and building the sofa. The sales people were friendly and knowledgeable and I feel I got exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately the fabric I wanted was on back order, so the sofa has taken over 2 months to build. I'm sure a fabric which is in stock would take considerably less time.

We had been looking for a new sofa and chair for a looooong time and could not find something to suit our taste. My husband saw an ad for The Sofa Company on the LA Times and we say ... let's check it out. We liked it that they were niche ... focused on what we were looking for so we knew they would have a lot to choose from. OMG, did they? Kara, our consultant was great at explaining how everything work .. how you can mix and match something you like from one sofa or another and turn it into your creation. Thanks for being so patient with us Kara...so many choices we had to take our time. The show room is great and this location was such easy access... We really loved our whole experience. Our new sofa is being delivered tomorrow ... we can hardly wait. I'll post some pictures of our new beauties when they arrived at their new home.

Been literally shopping for a new sofa for years, but, one day while passing by the Sofa Company en route to dinner, "The Sofa" caught my eye. It was beautiful and drew me into the store. Once inside, the great staff at Sofa Company really helped ensure that I make my purchase as they informed me about the product quality and associated guarantees. Not only courteous, not only great product knowledge, they gave me confidence in the product, and I new I was making a good decision.

So here I am today, quite happy with a beautiful addition to the home. Wish I had had the Sofa Company's help in picking my last boyfriend.

I just purchased my SECOND sofa from The Sofa Company. I bought one about 3 years ago and it was absolutely the best sofa I have ever owned. Sold it 2 years later as I was leaving the country and wasnt sure when I would return. (BTW, I got a great price for it even two years later due to the great, lasting quality) Just settled back into LA and without hesitation, returned to The Sofa Company to get a second amazing sofa. You can literally design your own piece...exactly how you want it...color, fabric, stuffing, size, everything is high quality and you are guaranteed to love it. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Great staff as well!!! Helpful, knowledgeable...kudos to Cherie for such great service!

This place was just what we were looking for. We got a great new sofa for a great price and we could custom design it to make sure it fit into our space. Our salesperson, Diana was terrific and highly knowledgeable. She easily answered all our questions and knew the products inside and out. Overall a great experience.

We first looked online, then came to the store. they had everything we needed to see and feel; from the texture of fabrics, to the feel of the cushions ( 2 firmness types), to the actual sofa type themselves. A few we would have wanted to try were not available to see and feel, but we found a one of our first choices anyway. The ability to change dimensions was a real plus.
And last but not least was Hannah. She was very helpful in guiding us through the selection process, was very patient, though very busy and continues to assist us through this purchase process. Bravo Hannah!!

Just bought my second sofa from The Sofa Company, this time a sleeper sofa for my guest room. Love that I can basicaly get whatever i want for a lot cheaper than other places. Get compliments on my down sofa all the time, though am a bit bugged by leaking feathers here and there.

highly recommend this place and it's staff for being extra helpful. Delivery men are helpful and professional.

The Sofa Co. made picking out our new sofa incredibly easy. They have a huge showroom in Santa Monica where you can pick out all kinds of different fabrics and styles. We got the Charles and we love it. They told us 3-5 weeks for delivery and it did take the full 5 weeks but it was worth it! Can't recommend enough.

We were able to completely customize our furniture with the guidance of Hannah Schoof, a design consultant in the Santa Monica store. She was knowledgeable, present, and helpful without ever being intrusive. With her assistance we ordered new furniture and reupholstered some of our existing pieces to match. We especially appreciated The Sofa Company's enormous range of style, fill, construction, and fabric options; and would recommend them to anyone with specific design requirements.

We had to find a sofa that would fit through several hallways and doorways. The sofa company allowed us to custom tailor one of their sofas to suit our problems. The sales people pointed out all of the options and suggested several possibilities. I think we will have a great sofa at a reasonable price

My husband and I ordered a sectional from Cherrie, one of their sales representatives. She was extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. The company allows you customize everything from the height and fill of your cushions, to the length and depth of the couch frame. We were very impressed by the service and the ease of ordering--it's a true custom experience.

Finding a sofa that feels right to both my husband and me has been a challenge... he is particular, but just can't describe what wants in a couch and I am on the short side and like my feet to reach the floor when seated with my back against the cushions. We were able to test 20 or so couches for feel and fit and were quickly able to narrow the search to one sofa that was PERFECT for both of us. Then the choices had to be made.... fabric, legs, return on which side, protective finish, arm covers, etc. etc. Cara explained our options and guided us through the options and in short order we left knowing we could have a couch we both really like. When you are going to live with a piece of furniture for a good number of years it's important to not have to settle for what happens to be out there.

My wife and I are shorter people so it is nice to be able to customize our couch to a shorter depth than standard. We also made it a foot longer to accommodate an ottoman/sectional in the future. This was all easily done and for a good price.

After spending several weekends and countless gallons of gasoline scouring the LA area from the South Bay to the Simi Valley in search of the right sofa for our great new place, my wife and I happened upon the Sofa Company. At the time we were completely burned out on furniture shopping and just wanted to settle on something and move on with our lives. I wish we would have started our search here instead of wasting all that time!
We dealt with a lovely saleswoman named Cherie, who after giving us a quick orientation on how the customization and pricing worked left us to browse but was always available to answer all the questions we could think of. Super patient, pleasant, friendly, and totally no pressure. Instead of giving up the search and getting something we didn't necessarily adore we now have a sofa we love.
The delivery guys were very professional and prompt, and took great care lifting our 95 inch sectional up a cramped stairway when the elevator in our building turned out to be too small.
We simply couldn't be happier with the customer service, quality, and affordability offered by the Sofa Company.

my husband & I THOUGHT we weren't too hard to please... figured we'd certainly find a Sofa we loved no problem! & for not to much cash... we searched Craig's List, Department Stores, the standard PotteryBarn, Crate & Barrel, Ikea... only to learn we should have started at the Sofa Factory and skipped the rest.

All base models are priced the same. Choose the style you like + a few options & preferences and poof! Your perfect new couch is yours.

We found the sales people very easy to work with.

...and the delivery folks when they learned we'd been w/o furniture for weeks made an extra effort to get our new sofa to us as soon as possible - this was certainly appreciated!!

Let's hope this one lasts a lifetime - but if we ever need another, we'd go back in a heartbeat.

When we walked into the warehouse it was a bit overwhelming, but we quickly were greeted by Hannah and felt at ease that we could take as much time as we needed. This was our first "adulthood" purchase as a couple. We liked that we didn't feel pressured or rushed and were able to test out many different modern styles and not be afraid of the cost. Very affordable.

Hannah was in and out and very helpful with her suggestions and willingness to let us figure out what we wanted. I think if you have experienced limits at other furniture stores TSC is definitely on the opposite spectrum, various modern styles without the hefty price tag and open to interpretation. Creating our sofa was at times difficult because we found ourselves stuck on one fabric over another, but we fortunately found a fabric that merged our two styles. We look forward to many years with our new sofa!

Honestly, we had gone to about 10 furniture stores looking for a sofa. Looking for a sofa is like looking for a needle in a haystack. You hope it's the right size, right color and right price. And it NEVER is. When we went into the Sofa Company, it was all about sofas. It was calm and the showroom is clean and attractive. Our salesperson was very knowledgeable using terminology that we had never even heard. She knew her stuff. We combined the base of one, the cushions of another etc. and made it EXACTLY the dimensions we needed. There were so many fabrics to choose from it was amazing. The sofa should be ready in 2-3 weeks and the price was more than competitive. We were very happy. Now we get to sit back, and wait for our new couch!

Wow. What an experience!
After shopping around on the internet and locally on the west side, I came back here to spend my money on a Sunday.
The important thing with this place is the staff. The products 'Do' speak for themselves.
Angela Stoner, the showroom manger and Hanna Schoof, a design consultant, helped me with my purchase from start to finish.
These women care about you and your purchase. They are so much fun to work with and are honest with you about your selections during the design phase.
While I finalized my purchase, the store was busy with other clients doing the same as I had done.
Its probably better that there is no coffee/pastries to buy in this place. I would hang out for hours.
I wish they had a 'turbo' button to push for the delivery of the final product. But quality takes time.
This place place is all about quality people and products.

We were so tired of searching for the right sleeper-sofa design, fabric, etc...and we were so happy we found this spot. The many floor samples gave us clear ideas, the many fabrics to choose from let us customize our sofa, and the staff was uniformly polite, helpful, and cheerful. We'll be going back for a chair pretty soon....

Go buy a couch from Kara. She is awesome. It's a step-by-step process that's easy and fun - you pick the couch arms, then the style, the the cushions, then the fabric. It turned an overwhelming process (at all the other stores) into something that was very easy and quick.

We were looking for a sofa bed and saw the Sofa Company ads in th LA Times. I checked everything out on their very helpful website and when I got to the store the sales person was great. She showed us the styles we had preselected, explained options, answered questions and pulled fabric samples. She was very lowkey and allowed us time to discuss things, checking back with us so we did not have to hunt her down. I had checked on delivery prices on the web before I left and saw a discrepancy on the store invoice price and the web price, I emailed the Store Manager and she responded promptly with a credit. No problems...excellent service! The only problem is the store was a drive for us from Long Beach, but well worth it. In addition, the options of sofas, options on additions (piping, buttons, legs, even arm size), plus options on fabrics are so plentiful, it takes some time customize everything!

I bought an alder, leather L-shaped couch from The Sofa Company back in May 2008. I settled on the Chloe sectional with the Portifino Chocolate leather. I worked with Angela Stoner at the showroom in Santa Monica and Karin Cousino at the main office off the 5 Freeway. It was great to get exactly what I wanted.

During the design process, Angela had some great recommendations. She suggested we make a matching ottoman instead of a coffee table. This has worked out great. We got some trays to put food on so that we can still use it as a coffee table but then we also have the option to rest our feet.

Given the cost of the couch I wanted it to look great. I was very aware that because I chose leather that there would be natural imperfections in the covering. However, upon receipt of the couch some of the scars from the cows could have been better concealed. Also the ottoman was a little to high to use comfortably. I explained this to Karin. Going into my conversation with her, I was concerned that they wouldn't make these repairs. After all they already had their check and I had already signed receipt of the couch. To my surprise and at no cost to me, Karin replaced 6 of the cushions and had a new, lower base placed on the ottoman.

My biggest compliment that I can make about the company is that they were accessible and I never felt like I was getting brushed away. I wrote them a sizable check and they lived up to it. Many businesses over-promise and under-deliver. I thought they were a bit too good to be true, but they did not disappoint. A year later and the couch doesn't squeak, stays put on a tile floor, and is holding up to a lot of use. It makes the house.

My wife and I had been thinking about a new sofa bed for quite some time, visiting a number of stores before finally making up our mind at Sofa Company. Among other things, we were struck by the genuine cheerfulness and enthusiasm with which we were greeted and personally served each time we came in the store. What clinched the deal, however, was their flexibility in style, color, size and features. We were able to work out with them exactly what we wanted, at a price that we consider fair and competitive.

Angela Stoner and her team at the Santa Monica store are nothing less than world-class. During the design process everyone displayed incredible knowledge, patience, enthusiasm, and creativity. OMG! What an awesome experience!
I love when people lies down in every coach that's at the store, it's funny and relaxing! And it's the best way to try your new furniture.
We'd been shopping for a new couch for 3 months and couldn't find anything. Until TODAY.....
We were looking for a sofa we could build with the options exactly as we wanted and needed. We found that at The Sofa Company.
Once we chose a sofa style we liked (Summer), my husband and I spent a lot of time choosing the perfect fabric. Our salesperson (Kara) was very helpful in showing us all the styles that suited our tastes.
She take the time to make sure we felt that we were getting exactly what we needed.

This was the best experience I've had purchasing furniture. Once we chose a couch style we liked (Zuma), my wife and I spent a lot of time choosing the perfect fabric. Our salesperson was very helpful in showing us all the styles that suited our tastes. The pricing options are very simply labeled and color coded so you can easily price out any couch you look at. Having so many choices in designing your couch makes you confident that you will be very happy with your purchase. Highly recommended.
