Great Brunch  5 Star Rating - World class

When you walk into this little E. Houston restaurant you walk into an old classroom. The decor is all old class pictures that are hysterical. They have authentic blue grass music for Brunch & the food is too die for. The French Toast was the best I've had. Staff is friendly & attentive. It's worth the short wait (usually less than an hour but there is good shopping in the neighborhood) go & try it for yourself.

Better than most 5 Star Rating - World class

I finally got a chance to get back to Nolita House!!
My freinds always call the shots. We enjoyed the food and and the bartender was cool. I missed the manager and his personal touch. I was not able to locate him and they said he hadn't worked there since forever.
The menu has changed some but they still had my personal favorite, Mac and Cheese.
They use like 6 different cheeses in it and bake. I first visited during the world cup and will continue to as long as they make macaroni and cheese.
It looks as though I need to go for bluegrass brunch after hearing all about it. Chow for now.

Pros: Macaroni and cheese
Cons: change in workers that I knew

Best Brunch 4 Star Rating - Very good

Greatest brunch that my kids took me to. There were eight of us. Food came out perfect & tasty. Everyone had a great time. Love the free mimosas & sangria! Wait staff, very friendly & band was fun. Different than your typical jazz. Highly recommend to families.

Never Bring Large Groups Here! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I had a terrible experience here with a large group on a Saturday night. The restaurant charged us a "room fee" of $10 a head for dinner and didn't even give us a room. We were thrown into a corner by the window which had large cracks and caused the temperature to be unbearable. The service was painfully slow. The whole 3 course meal took 3.5 hours. The kitchen couldn't handle our request and as a result, our food came out cold. Additionally, the restaurant tried to charge us the room fee and prefix fee for 2 people that didn't show up even though the manager had specifically told us that we would only pay for the people who came. It took a lot of arguing for them to remove the 2 no show charges from our bill. The whole experience left me with a very nasty taste in my mouth.

Cons: Very bad for large groups, poor service, overpriced weekend prefix, very cold by the window

Decent Food for a Long Wait 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

The wait time was ridiculously long for brunch. Over an hour. The hostess was honest about the wait time though. The waitstaff are very nice here. The place had decent food with a band playing in the background. The place is a bit cramped but I think that's the draw of the place. Overall, a decent place to try.

Pros: Decent Food
Cons: Long wait

great brunch and comfort food 4 Star Rating - Very good

Great place to have brunch. No frills casual dining experience for those mornings when you just wanna eat. The mac and cheese w bacon is out of this world. For brunch the brick oven eggs were great, a nice little spin on a frittata.Brick oven french toast was more like bread pudding but still tasty.could not ask for a better bargain in the city. will definitely be back for more.

Pros: great food and service
Cons: none
