So we chose Duet 35 for a girls night out, and we were quite underwhelmed. The place is kind of bland, no atmosphere at all. We walked in and had to have our IDs checked (women 28-35) which I thought was a little goofy and unnecessary.

I reserved this place recently for my 23rd bday, I wanted to do something different and fun for everyone. So I booked this location before booking i had gone to several other karaoke spots i tell you honest truth they were all crappy and limited and expensive acting as if they were a comdey club with 2 drink minimum. Duet 35 was great we had a huge room it was very well equipped everything worked. We had a huge book to choose songs from which was a great selection they even had spanish in particularly reggeaton, Which was a huge plus for me. The staff was great never bothered us for one thing they just let us know that we had 10 mins left. They also have a great cool feature a phone in the room and you order anything you want from there. I reccomend this place highly we had a blast and will for sure return. Only downfall were that the drinks were watered down and you cant bring any from outside. Every else gets an A+.

I went last minute with a few of my friends. when we told them it was a friends birthday we were treated with some extras and even when we broke a glass, they handled everything with a smile. the privacy was excellent and cozy, the price was just right, and I can't wait to go back

I booked a room for 10 people for my best friend's bachelorette party. When we got there, there was still another group there and we had to wait 10 minutes past our reservation time. But they gave us the extra 10 minutes at the end so there were no problems. We had a huge room with lots of room to dance and move around. We ordered chinese food from outside and they delivered straight to our room. The room was very clean. The song list was amazing...they had everything we wanted. We all agreed that we will all come back to Duet 35 for all of our birthday parties! What a great place and great experience!

Pros: HUGE rooms, great service, can bring in outside food

.

I had a birthday party here. We had our own private room and you can bring food/snacks, so thats pretty awesome. And there a telephone in the room that puts you thru directly to the bar... how awesome is that!? It gets a little stuffy in the room sometimes if you have a crazy crowd. So ask them to keep the air on.

Pros: Private Rooms

Cons: 8 bucks per hour per person... YIKES!

An awesome place - the room was the perfect size for the 15 of us, the song selection is amazing, and drinks are reasonably priced. I will definitely come here again!

Pros: Accommodated our late reservation; great song selection; reasonably priced

.

Duet 35 is great. After another establishment screwed up my reservation just days before the event (my sister's bachelorette party) Duet 35 was able to accomodate us easily. The room was great, song selection was great, nice staff, etc. We were having such a great time they were able to extend our room after moving some things around! I would definitely go here again.

Pros: Nice, comfortable rooms, nice staff

Cons: they let my friend carry a tray of drinks into the room and she dropped it:( Make them carry the drinks so if something spills, it's their fault.

I had my doubts when I received the party invitation to this place for karaoke - but I have to say - it was so much fun! Our party was in a private room with the mikes, disco ball, lots of songs. I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I did that night!

Rule #1: Always make a reservation or you'll never get a room - even during daytime hours. In my experience, the daytime hours are especially busy because of the marathon price. Duet also has an amazing song selection and are quick to update their Japanese and English songs, particularly the Japanese. So if you're a J-music fan like myself, you won't be disappointed with Duet. Avoid ordering the food, however. Most of them are straight out-of-the-package junk food. If you want Pocky, buy it yourself before coming. Duet DOES allow outside food to be brought in. We've had picnics thanks to this policy! =D I do recommend the takoyaki, though - it's the only thing on the menu we'd order. Don't have too high expectations for the equipment, though. They're not the best you can find in the city.

We had a group of about 15 family members in town over the holidays & ended up going here after our Christmas Day lunch. First off, as far a group activities in NYC on Christmas Day go, this was the most reasonably priced & attractive activity we could find (bowling & skating were soo $$$!). We had a room reservation at Karaoke Duet & they called us earlier in the day to let us know there would be a half hour delay & that they'd give us our first round of drinks free for any inconvenience - I thought that was very courteous. Once we were there, we were thrilled w/ our room - it had 2 mikes, tambourines, a disco ball & was comfortable. But mostly, they had such an impressively wide selection of songs, it was wonderful! The drinks were reasonably priced, the staff was nice, & it was a hoot to walk the halls & hear/see everyone else in their private rooms having an outstanding time. Everyone in our group had a BLAST, the smiles lasted for days!

I went here for my last birthday and had a blast!!!! They have all the best song selections, the rooms were clean and new. They had a bar available so that all of my guests could get drinks at their leisure. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Even when we went over our room reservation time, they let us stay an extra hour!

I had about 15 people come and everyone was able to enjoy themselves and sing their song choices. The drink prices and hourly rate were very good.

I highly recommend this for parties and/or just a fun night out any day of the week.

I've been coming here a long time and have always been impressed. The key is the song selection; it has the largest, broadest selection of English-language music of any place I have ever been in and songs are updated every month. What other karaoke place has Death Cab for Cutie? I don't sing other-language songs but often go with friends who sing in Japanese and Korean, and the selection seems quite vast as well. As people have said, the bar food is nothing special. You definitely need to make reservations EARLY if you want to sing before midnight on Friday or Saturday nights.

I went to Karaoke Duet with a few of my friends the other night and I was impressed. First of all, the prices were one of the cheapest I've ever seen. The service was good as well, as me and my friends were accomodated quickly to the first available room. Everything in this karaoke bar seemed new. I noticed how clean the environment was when I first entered Duet. The furniture seemed fresh and clean which made everything more comfortable. Aside from everything I just mentioned, the one thing that separates Karaoke Duet from the rest of the karoake bars is their song selection. They have the most up to date songs a karaoke bar will ever have. Not only is it up to date, but the song selection is vast. The equipment also seems new enough to support all your singing needs. One of the other perks about Duet is their selection of alcohol. I've tried some Japanese beer and liqour there for the first time and I loved it. They have all the usual selections you'd find in a bar plus a few other international drinks you might have a hard time finding anywhere else.Their alcohol is modestly priced for city prices. All in all I recommend this place for any Karaoke lover who's looking for a fun time.

i have been here 3 times, and without a reservation. Twice w/one friend and another it was 4 of us. I think for price you're not going to get any better then Duet. I was never rushed out of a room but the times that I go (after 12am) it's just a small room so it doesn't seem like they are in a hurry to get you to leave. the drinks are great and about 6 dollars a pop what's not to like. However, I would never go here for food. snack by all means but just don't come hungry and expect a grand meal. they have food like greesy chicken nuggets etc. This place is strictly karaoke and drinks. Make a reservation for 3 or more people if you want the space to dance around and kick a speaker.

Pros: Cheap rates, drinks, and good song selection. and open till 6am!

Cons: bar food needs improvement but not a deal breaker.

This place is nice and clean. The music selection is good. The prices are fair. I wouldn't recommend ordering food there however. We witnessed food being handled with bare hands quite frequently. My friends and I went on a Friday night. We had a reservation. We arrived early. Our room was in use. The group which had the room before us did not vacate the room on time. The attendant called them from the front desk to let them know their time was up. We did not get into our room until 15 minutes after our reservation time. We were thanked for waiting and escorted to our room. At the exact time that our reservation was over the attendant barged into our room and told us our time was up. This was a bit rude but we were actually preparing to exit the room anyway so we didn't dwell on it. Shockingly we were charged for the entire time of our reservation even though we didn't get into our room until 15 minutes after our reservation time. When we raised this point with the attendant she simply stated that they do their best to make sure patrons exit the room on time but there is nothing they can do if they don't. This is extremely bad customer service and an unfair business practice. Why should anyone be expected to pay for time they didn't receive? Shame on you Karaoke Duet.

This was our first time to a karaoke lounge/bar. I celebrated my birthday and it was great. The place was trendy and the service was friendly and very accomodating. We had a group of 14 and the room was spacious, with a disco ball, and plenty of seating. They have many rooms to choose. I was able to bring a cake and soda. The drinks were averagely priced. The song selection was good and you could always request more songs ahead of time. Using the equipment was simple but as the night went on songs were not being played or taking long to load. Be cautious about loading too many songs at once. We will definitely go back again.

Having gone to Duet numerous numerous times, you never get used to the songs because they constantly update their lists and there are already so many songs to choose from. Aside from English songs, there are also Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc. types of songs also (if the lists aren't in the room already, just ask the person outside). The rooms are spacious and clean and there are no hidden service charges when it comes time to pay the bill. The Karaoke Marathon is truly a great deal!! Its great for friends and family, for relaxing or a parties. Definitely check this place out! The only con is the food (snacks) are pricey so eat before you go.

I celebrated my friend's birthday at Duet 35. The song list was big and the service was exceptional as well. This place is good for family/friend gatherings and parties as they have party rooms to fit about 25 people. Me and my friends had a blast!
