Fun, Tasty and Great Atmosphere!

by smithy11

A group of us were hungry and wanted some Mexican food. The place was packed so we stumbled upon Bursa Kabab Mediterranean and we were so happy we did! The staff is warm and friendly and the food is delicious. We had the combo appetizer and a couple of entrees and all of it was really, really good. I will be a regular here because the service was excellent and the owner is super nice and knows the value of a customer! A++ for Bursa Kebab!

Pros: Very Good Food

Great Turkish Food

by kegin

I had high expectations and I was not disappointed. I am Turkish and am impressed with the food! I had the meze combination platter - ezme was great, ahydari exceptional, and the rest was very good too. Cigarette Borek was excellent as well. My friend was very impressed as well. The owner was very friendly.

For entree, I had a Iskender Kebab - it is not on the menu. Iskender kebab is usually with doner kebab meat, but they do it with adana kebab meat with the iskender sauce, and the pita underneath it was crisp, like they do it in Turkey. The Bursa mix kebab was great too.

Well done!

Pros: great food, good service

Cons: parking

Fine Turkish food

by rkishore

My favorite Turkish restaurant... It's run by a Jordanian. The staff are wonderful. The recently redone largely-blue interior looks great. A lot of people who aren't very familiar with Turkish food try the chicken sautee. They have the usual list of kababs, and the appetizer platter is a good way to sample Turkish food (highly recommended). Their rice is fibrous and done superbly. Some menu items that are hard to find elsewhere: mercimek kofte, a lentil mash; a spinach salad with falafels stuffed with goat cheese; kuneifi (a cheesy dessert wrapped in roasted/shredded phyllo, with just the right amount of sweetness); grilled vegetables served in a tomato sauce; a rich haydari or yoghurt dish can help douse, although Bursa's food isn't too spicy at all. Recent changes in their menu have meant that vegetable kababs/skewers are out :-( Good wine list and a longish dessert menu too. Lately, they have started doing lunch too. It's amazing how the weekend belly dance can be performed in the spaces between tables. They bring the dancer on for just a few minutes.

Pros: Great ambience and service, and good Turkish food

Cons: Could have a wait on some nights

At last, Hummus done right!

by bebemoy

I highly recommend the hummus and appetitzer platter which is large enough as an entree. The chicken kebab is very tender and tasty. One of my favorite places

Pros: The Hummus

Cons: Parking is tricky

Yummy food and bellydancing (hips don't lie)

by kokodarling

I LOVE this place! Have been coming here since it opened a 2-3 years ago...the food is always amazing...the haydari (yogurt/mint dip appetizer) and tabouleh ALWAYS taste like they were just made seconds before you ordered it (as it should be, but rarely ever is!) The chicken kebabs are tender and cooked just right...the accompanying side portions of rice and salad are mammoth! AND the desserts are to die for! Highly recommended: kunefe or rice pudding! The wine list is balanced and very well priced, try the Menage a Trois red wine. AND the staff is absolutely darling! Going there now, I am greeted like family! However, the staff is very warm and courteous to everyone, whether it's your first visit or your 100th visit! The owner is very attentive and engaging...and wants to know how you enjoyed your meal/service...it's obvious he really cares! AND he is gorgeous too! Finally the bellydancing on the weekends is fantastic! The lights dim and the sounds of Arabic bellydance music fill the air...and the bellydancer puts on a great show for about 20 or 25 minutes! The only challenging part of dining here is the **sometimes"" challenging parking situation...there are many bars, restaurants, coffee shops and a movie theatre within steps of Bursa Kebab...so sometimes if a movie has just let out, you can snap up a parking place pretty easily...other times, you will circle the block 1/2 a dozen times or elect to park 3 blocks away...
This place has a nice ambience...for friends or lovers, groups of any size..even my 6 year old niece loved this place and the bellydancing...and she is very finnicky! I can't recommend this place enough! Bon appetit!

Special spot

by luckysiu

I live near West Protal and have walked by this restaurant numerous times always thinking about trying something else. Finally after being forced to laugh at their new ad campaign, I tried it with a friend. The food was absolutely fabulous. The hummus was awesome, the breads were fresh and warm. The kebabs were heavenly, nicely marinated and the rice was delicious! I was definitely pleased with my meal. It's now my new "special spot".

Pros: food

Cons: bathroom

A gem of a restaraunt

by mkondr

We have tried this place on the recommendation of our friends, and boy were we in for a treat. We have gone back numerous times - it is still one of our favorites. Great food, reasonable prices and nice service. Try vegetarian sampler plate - appetizers are simply too good not to try them all. For entrees we tried kebab sampler plate - again everything was awesome. Desert - Kunefe is unbelievable. Definitely a good place to try.

Great meat & veggie dishes, desserts too

by skylander

Bursa became one of my favorite restaurants in the city whenever I wanted to go out for some good lamb dishes, or take out a friend on Atkins, or one who is a vegeterian. The owner pays close attention to his staff and his guests. Bursa Iskender Kebab and Beyti Kebab has been our favorites and for desert I would highly recommend Kunefe, a shredded wheat desert in flavorful but not too heavy syrup and hot, melted cheese in the middle. Even if you think it sounds odd, try it.

Pros: Taste of dishes, Variety of food, Full & Half Bottles

Cons: Busy on weekends, Call ahead for groups, Some inconsistency
