My husband and I had dinner at Bourbon on a Thursday. The food was great -- we started with the Jim Bean BBQ shrimp and the goat cheese/tomato sauce. Both very delicious! And huge enough to be a meal in and of themselves For entrees, we had the BBQ pork sandwich (excellent) and the roasted pork loin (disappointing -- tiny pieces of pork smothered in an overly creamy sauce and not much spinach). We were looking forward to trying the filet listed on the online menu but the menu we got at the restaurant was quite a bit smaller than the online menu (and was missing the filet). The restaurant was quite dark, but the huge open windows were nice. The lives music was also nice but a little loud for the small space. The vibe was a little strange -- hard to tell if it wants to be a restaurant or a bar, and hard to tell if it's supposed to be a cute local joint or a place where you need to know the password to get in. The food would be enough to bring us back but the atmosphere was a little odd.

Bourbon does it right. The menu is made up primarily with Southern style comfort foods, but done in an eloquent way that fits the decor of a upscale bar. Although the look of Bourbon might come off as trendy, the food is better than what grandma used to make - and she grew up in Hazzard County. With over 30 high end whiskeys on the menu, you can't miss a great opportunity to pair the right drink with the right entree. The pulled pork sandwich is absolutely amazing (try it with the andouille stuffed fried jalapenos!!).

Pros: Decor, Amazing Food, 30+ Bourbons.

Cons: Not enough people know about it.

Aligator Bites !!!! Bourbon (and an arsenal of other whiskys from arround the world.) The inviting atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable staff add to the experience of great fresh food. Weather you are looking for a sandwich at lunch, or an entre any time this place exceeds the expectations of this chef. With a large full menu available from lunch through late night this is the perfect place for an appetite to be satisfied regardless the time. The padded leather walls are inviting for a night on the town yet comfortable for a break from daily errands. The spacious back room is perfect for parties and the owners are willing to accomodate your needs, while the kitchen is more than happy to get you fed to your liking. Bourbon on Lincoln is definately worth the trip with ample parking it is hard not to stop by and try it out. (there is a lot arround the corner on Melrose which only costs a dollar.)
