It is all smoke and mirrors. They do not serve any bread, the salad ( and I use this term loosely) was just a trough of lettuce. My wife was even more disgusted than me. She took one look at the buffet and said, No. She decided to order

Try the Curry Goat & Cajun Crab Claws with a side of one of their #CayaRum cocktails!!!! One of the best Caribbean spots I've EVER eaten at in my life - Chef Rob definitely knows what he's doing.

Me and some co workers went to Chef Rob on lunch in February..... the waitress was not knowledgeable about the menu and appeared tired.....the food was awful....I have never tasted Jamaician food this bad before. I ordered the white meat jerk chicken which tasted like sugar......the color was weak and they included a piece of a chicken back......the rice and peas, didnt have any peas....the food didnt have any season. or spices. .oh course the meal didnt include plantains....I was so disgusted with the food and the price. the portion size was ridiculous.....I dont see how this place stays in business....Chef Rob's get an F in my book......I forgot we ordered the peppered shrimp and they was mushy....Please dont waste your money at this place, go to All Island Cafe on Memorial Dr, you will not be disappointed.........

Service was prompt and friendy, it was our first time and the waitress took time to go over specials and house specialties. Me and my fiancee eat out a LOT and this was the best meal that we had in a while. We argued the whole way home about who's food was better. I had the strip steak and she had the cuban lime chicken. both had mashed potatoes, I had collard greens, and she had the plaintains. Jerk Grilled wings for appetizers set it off right. Can't wait to return. Shout out to Mecca!

I tried the combination jerk chicken and curry chicken, at $13. By effectively ordering ""2"" chicken dishes, I expected to find a little bit of chicken somewhere! There was one small leg, and several tiny, boney, ""knuckles"". There was less than 2 bites of chicken in the entire meal. For the restaurant, this clearly was NOT a culinary choice; it was a budgetary choice. My dessert was key lime pie which was served frozen solid.\r
\r
The positives: The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. The rice and stir-fry were tasty, as was the curry sauce (the sauce was the only thing I could get from the curry chicken).\r
\r
I won't be going back, and I'll advise my friends to steer clear of this place. Apparently, Chef Rob was absent during most of Restaurant Management 101.

Best lemon-pepper wings anywhere on the planet. And the basic j erk (weird censor) chicken plate with the ""slaw"" is fantastic as well. They serve a big appetizer sampler plate which is easily enough to feed two big men and has all kinds of good stuff. And you can get it half-price before 5pm (I think).

Worth the search, this little GEM had it all. Friendly greeters, smiling waitress, good service and fantastically delicious, beautifully presented starters and entrees. Hot items served and remained hot until the last bite while cold plate items were chilled to perfection. \r
The live, carribean background one man band was a pleasure to listen to and added a touch of the islands which enhanced our dinning pleasure. \r
Pricing was in line with the proportions however the presentation was beyond expectation. ""Grilled Shrimp Skewers"" looked almost too good to eat, so we took a picture, before we devoured them. \r
Truly, our only regret was not having room for dessert. I was dying to try the ""White Chocolate Bread Pudding Drizzled with Bailey Irish Cream Sauce"". Next time we'll bring friends, what a great way to start or finish an evening out. Thank you,

I am new to Atlanta from New York & was a bit hesitant in visiting this restaurant given the venues I've already patronized since moving here to Atlanta. The places I've visited before coming to Chef Rob's Restaurant have to be quite honest left a lot to be desired. The past venues I've visited were actually embarrasing to West Indian cuisine & had terrible customer service. However, a co-worker/friend raved about this place after knowing my West Indian background and mentioned that she wouldn't have mentioned this spot to me if she had ANY reservations about the food & quality of service. So I decided to give it a try. Well needless to say my first visit was with her back in August along with another fellow co-worker who was in Atlanta on business from California. I must say since that day, I have been hooked ever since!! The staff's knowledgeable/nice personalities, wonderful decor, good ambiance and the owner understands the meaning of customer service and lest I not forget the FOOD is to die for. My goodness, this place receives high marks in every category from me. Every other week, I've been back to CRCC because it has served as the perfect spot on a Friday evening to unwind, after a long week. Chef Rob's Caribbean Cuisine would definitely be a stand-out success in an area like Buckhead, w/ out a doubt. The drinks are a plus also, especially $3 Martini nights - Wednesday's. I've indulged in the braised Oxtails, Conch Fritters, Grilled Wings, Fettucine, Collard Greens (there must be a secret ingredient in these greens as they are addictive) and Curry Chicken and have never had a disappointing meal here yet. My husband is now raving about this place! All that I can say is Big Up to CRCC!!

I visited this cafe yesterday and the food was outstanding. I ordered the Braised Beef Ox Tails and they were superb. My guest ordered the chicken which I tasted and they were very good. I can't wait to visit again. The atmosphere and the Caribbean music were perfect and not to mention the service. I really enjoyed being at Rob's. It is now on my list of favorite restaurants. I have been to many Caribbean restaurants and I rate this one tops.

This was an excellent dining experience, with warm, friendly and quick service, and wonderful food. The flavors are subtle yet spicey, with careful attention to nuances. I had the jerke chicken, which was roasted to juicey perfection, and served with a sauce to die for. I'm still wondering what gave the red beans and rice such great flavor. This is very different, very homey cooking with a deft chef's touch.

Stopped in at Caribbean Cafe after a movie. A beautiful place with bright decorations. I'm big on clean and the cafe is spotless. Welcomed by Chef Rob, stepped in to hear light Jamaican music. Now for the food. Outstanding. I like a little heat so the jerked chicken was fine. My wife likes low heat. She ordered the Cuban lime chicken and loved it! It was perfect, spicy but not overwhelming. I ordered a ceasar jerked chicken salad. The salad dressing was the best I've had for years. Even though the food was wonderful, it was such a large portion, we took home leftovers for lunch the next day. You could not do better than to have lunch or dinner here midweek. On weekends I understand it is very popular. We will definitely return and recommend it to our friends. The service matched the food.

No, I have never written a review before. I am more the word of mouth type as I have done countless times when it comes to Caribbean food from Chef Rob's. I have told countless friends about their tender, plump curry chicken; the oxtails to die for and that ding dang bread pudding with the white chocolate sauce. If you have tried other Caribbean cuisine and felt it lacking, then trust me when I tell you that Rob's is THE place to visit. \r
\r
He adds delicious food with a warm, friendly, COMPETENT and fun staff. I came across Kevin Williams who I am assuming is new to the fray, since I have never met him before, and he was as delightful as the food I ordered. He was charming, chatty and charismatic. He also informed me of an (OH MY GOODNESS) new dish called Bahamian Steamed Mussels steeped in butter herb, saffron and coconut broth. It was DELICIOUS!!! I had that bread pudding and white chocolate sauce too. Oh and I order the curry goat this time...scrumptious!!!\r
\r
I make it a point to visit Sandy Springs, GA from Marietta, GA just to get my fix of Chef Rob's. You should too.

Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe' came highly recommended by my brother and his wife to be, and I would like to pay it forward. My husband and I went last night and was highly impressed with the ambiance. The live music of steel drums, colorful decor and friendliest of the staff made me feel as if I was on one of the Islands. Each person greeted us with a smile. Chef Rob came and spoke to us and all his guests. The food was wonderful, the Calamari was the best my husband said he ever had. We also enjoyed the Chicken Egg Rolls. I had the Red Snapper and my husband had the 1/2 Roasted Chicken, he already has plans for the Oxtails on our visit. The Mango Lemonade was very good, what can I say about the Sweet Mango Pie mmmmmm....Chef Rob, you have been truly blessed with a gift and we thank you for sharing that gift. You will have us as patrons for life.

My sister and I dined at Chef Rob's this evening after seeing a movie. We were good and hungry and already knew what we wanted to order. She and I had previously done our own research on Chef Rob's place and were impressed with the menu and decor we saw on the cafe's web site. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated promptly. The cafe only had a couple of empty tables remaining after we were seated. The decor was warm and inviting. Two flat screen televisions were turned to sports channels, and reggae music played in the background. I liked the art on the walls. My sister ordered the Chef's Sampler and I ordered the J*rk Chicken and Shrimp Fettucine Pasta, and Coco Bread. We received the bread first. It was warm, delicious, and served with butter. I tore up that Coco Bread, and before I finished it, our meals were served. The presentation on lovely square plates was great. My pasta dish was fabulous--loaded with great flavor and plentiful chunks of chicken and four plump shrimp. My sister and I shared our dishes, and her j*rk eggrolls and j*rk chicken wings were out of this world. The portions were generous. She and I took a cruise to the Bahamas last October and had some conch fritters prepared by the locals. The conch fritters at Chef Rob's were distinctly different in apperance and texture, but still good. The dipping sauces that came with my sister's sampler were marvelous. We each ordered the white chocolate bread pudding to go. We haven't eaten it yet, so I can't rate it. When we finished and walked to my car, Chef Rob was outside and thanked us for dining there. He asked how we liked the food and service, and we told him that the entire experience was lovely--from the atmosphere to the food to the service. We told him how we found out about his place and were encouraged by the several great reviews. I'll definitely return with more family members and friends and get the word out about this wonderful cafe. Good on you, Chef Rob!

Recently dined here and I have to say the food was just out right DELICIOUS! I've been to several so called Caribbean restaurants here and they can't even compare on the same level as Chef Rob's. While dining Chef Rob himself came to several of the tables and introduced himself and wanted to know how the service was going. He's not just some cook he graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in New Hyde Park NY for those with any Culinary history knows that isn't just some learn how to be a Chef in 6 weeks school. My overall experience was awesome and would recommend this place over and over again. I read several of the other reviews before posting mine and have to say some people you just can please because they are miserable and not happy with themselves. The food is to die for go for the oxtails and top it off with the bread pudding I promise you won't go wrong.

GREAT atmosphere, awesome customer service and the food ""mek yu lick yu finga"". I am a Jamaican who can throw down (can cook) and loves to cook . I can truly say, this is one the BEST Jamaican restaurant in ATL. My favorite dish is the curry goat and secondly the oxtails - I bring along the possie from work at least once a week and no one ever complains - they love, love, love it! Just sitting there (by the way, the decor is to die for) having your meal, watching the flat screen TVs and listening to the Jamaican music in the background makes you feel as if you are actually in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. After a long morning at work - this is the place to come and unwind for lunch! Chef Rob, I am proud of your accomplishment - Nuh watch nuttin! May your cup continuously runneth over with customers to increase your revenue each and every year.\r

I read reviews on city search, urban spoon, and of course my trusted yelp and I was so excited that I drove 30 min. from Forsyth County just to get some of these oxtails some of my fellow food critics had spoken so highly of. I can't believe how disappointed I was. First of all, my to-go bill was $43.53, which included 2 oxtail plates, a side of plantain, and strawberry lemonade. When I opened my bag at home I opened up a plate of food swimming in orange grease! The oxtails were not seasoned like they were made by a Jamaican at all. My family cooks real Jamaican food and you can taste the Jamaican flavors (scotch bonnet peppers, thyme); this was a nasty Worcestershire sauce and sour vinegar mix at best. Not to mention it was all fat and bones and hardly any meat could be found. AND Braised my foot! Those oxtails have been sitting in a bucket since this morning. My rice and peas were swimming in the orange grease as well so I didn?t even get to eat much of it, but it didn?t really have that hint of coconut milk flavor I was looking for. At least the side of steamed cabbage was decent. Oh and how do you screw up fried plantain?!? You would think they would have the timing down so I wouldn?t be eating half cooked plantains. And maybe let the oil drain once they are taken out of the fryer, Come on guys! Oh and the strawberry lemonade isn?t fresh so don?t be fooled, when I stuck my straw in the bottom of my cup I drew back syrupy cans strawberries. . . can we say YUCK! If you value Jamaican food and know what good Jam food tastes like then you'll listen and save your money. I am so PO'ed, I just had to drop my fork and tell you poor food critics what I thought about you beloved JaFAKIN restaurant!!! If it weren't so darn far from my house I'd take it back and use that greasy orange oil from my food to write my disgust on the store front windows!!! Lucky I have Bible Study tomorrow! And Chef Ron, if you see me in the streets I want my $43.53 back!

If it weren't so darn far from my house I'd take it back and use that greasy orange oil from my food to write my disgust on the store front windows!!! Lucky I have Bible Study tomorrow! And Chef Ron, if you see me in the streets I want my $43.53 back!

Pros: side order of steamed cabbage was ok,

Cons: PRICE, NOT REALLY JAMAICAN FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!

.

Great Caribbean atmosphere...at the door customer service. Excellent food as we as a great balance between restaurant and sports bar. My friends and I dine at Chef Rob's while watching the ball game or pay per view boxing.

I have been there so many times, although the food is Ok. The princing is ridiculous. There are a few more Cariebean Resturaunts in the area (Buckhead) that charge considerably less. $18 for a spoon full of food. They should be ashamed of there selves. I have told a few people I know not to go there anymore and to go to another Cariebean Place with SAME great food Less $$. I think we should protest the pricing of this restuaunrt.

Pros: food is OK, service is OK

Cons: Price, food is only average for the price you pay

.

food average, not as flavorful as jamaican food can be; service full of attitude, seen owner/chef twice and he hasn't greeted anyone-his establishment you would think he would at least say welcome or hello/good day; prompt food service; decor very nice; very over-priced; i won't go back (i have given them second and third chances)

I was recommended to Chef Rob's so I decided to give this place a try. What a great choice. I was impressed from the moment that I walked in. The smell of the food was terrific and the the decor was nice and welcoming. As I arrived my husband and I were greeted by a very upbeat young lady who had the most beautiful smile. After we were sat down the same young lady came over and introduced herself as our server and bartender. She was extremely professional and warm which, along with the smell and the decor, gave me the feeling of going a resort in the Caribbean islands. So my husband and I went with her recommendation of the tilapia stir fry. It was mouth watering. We also tried the flavored mojitos. They were great! The place is great. OK, to make a long story short, what really hooked us was the fact that we were at the restaurant for one hour and forty five minutes and our bartender/waitress never stopped smiling once. I thought it was just a smile to greet us at the door but, she was pleasant with everyone and everything that she did even cleaning up a spill and working with a busy lunch rush. When we left out of the restaurant our spirits were 100 times better. Not to mention the food seems like an aphrodisiac.

I have to say this is the best Caribbean restaurant in Georgia. I have lived in Georgia for almost 15 years and I have been to about every single restaurant. I dine at least three times per week. I started eating at Chef Rob's about a month ago and I have been back 5 times. Every time that I come I am greeted with a beautiful smile and introduction by the bartender or servers. When ever the bartender seats me she pulls out my seat and treats me as if I were royalty. The last time that I was there she let me taste some of the Carrot juice that she was making from scratch, it was wonderful!\r
I get the feeling as if I am dinning in a five star restaurant with a down home very loving environment. The food is absolutely the best. I have had the ox-tails, Cuban lime chicken, tilapia stir fry, and the j-rk wings. The food has been so great every visit that I end up cleaning my plate. Don't forget the deserts, OH the bread pudding is delicious.\r
\r
Usually, when you go to a Caribbean restaurant that has good food you get allot of attitude and the place is never really upscale or too clean. \r
\r
This restaurant is upscale, clean and loving. They have went out of there way to make me happy every time I have been there. I will recommend this restaurant to my parents, my loved ones and everyone that I know. \r
\r
Keep up the good work and I will remain a frequent customer.

Pros: Outstanding service and food. Lots of parking. Great neighborhood.

Cons: To many tasty things on the menu to make a choice

I've dined there several times and hosted 2 fairly large dinner parties there as well. The food has always been excellent and the ambiance is warm and inviting. This 2nd (and last dinner party) was like no other. \r
\r
The service was once again very pleasant and attentive. We were seated at our reservation time table ready and waiting. I had a total group of about 16 girls and our orders were taken for drinks and food in a quick but warm manner. The food did take a bit to come out and 1 order was incorrect, but was presented rather quickly after the error was discovered. \r
\r
Drink refills were prompt and frequent, water brought quickly after being offered by our waitress. The food was delayed, but that was quickly forgotten once we starting eating. Our night was almost perfect. Save 1 MAJOR issue. The 'management' wanted 1 payment for the entire table. One payment as in 1 credit card or all cash. I guess I should preface by saying one of the first questions asked and answered by our hostess was ""Though we cannot split checks by individual, would we be allowed to pay individually towards the total tab? As in different cards being charged different amounts to the total bill"" Our waitress answered yes. This question was asked before everyone was even seated. So imagine our shock and irritation when 16 girls are told to pay with 1 card or all cash. \r
\r
After about 40 minutes of going back and forth with the manager, even after our waitress admitted that she told us that was ok they finally came to a 'resolution' albeit, it was not any better than the first suggestion. Our new option was to pay with a maximum of 4 credit cards and the remaining in cash. The tally still came out wrong and in the end after the 5-10 minute flash of P0RN on the large screen tv behind us and the payment debacle Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe will NOT be seeing my business or that of any of the other 15 girls. \r
Word of mouth is good business only if the words coming out are of praise. Take note.

I will not go to this restaurant again. I ordered the appetizer platter which included chicken wings, when I took the first bite, I could tell the chicken was not fully cooked; the texture and color of the chicken said it all. I politely told the waiter what I discovered and he responded in an offensive tone. He insisted the wings was cooked and did not offer to re-cook or reorder another batch of wings, I did not make a big deal at the moment because it was my sisters Birthday and I didn't want to spoil the day for her. I also ordered a plate to go and when he brought it over I said I just wanted to taste a piece and he pulled the to-go plate away from me a said I was not allowed to eat off the to-go box. I was appalled. News Flash...your not a 5 star restaurant and from my experience, I?m going to tell everyone I know about the service and the uncooked chicken Chef Robs cooks

This restaurant is amazing. I have eaten there several times and it seems each time is better than the last. My favorite dish is the oxtails, very meaty and large portions. There is also this other special that I like, the chicken marsala with the smashed red potatoes that are to die for. For dessert you have to try to white chocolate bread pudding! Eating it feels like a sin, it's so good! And the drinks are definately potent. The servers are excellent and very well versed in the menu. They laugh and talk with you and make you feel really welcomed. The live music on Saturday nights is an added experience. The sound of the steel drum playing while you sit in a dining room garnished with Bob Marley paintings, authentic conch shells, and straw place mats just makes you feel like you've stepped into Jamaica. You should definately try it!

My girlfriend Sash recommended this spot the other day so I gave it a shot today for lunch on my way from Wholefoods on Roswell Rd. I had the oxtails with rice and peas and literally sucked the bones. I'd of never known that Rob's was there, but now I won't forget. I shop Wholefoods at least twice a week and will manage to fit the Caribbean Cafe into my commute. The staff was very attentive although a little busy during the lunch rush. The clientele was diverse and every mouth was in full motion. Hats off to the chef. Great find!

I found Chef Rob's on Citysearch (love this site), with the reviews and distance from the city I stopped in to check it out. First the location is GREAT literally only 10 mins away from Buckhead, Midtown and Downtown. The food is always fresh, tasty and fullfilling, they have a variety of drink specials daily and 1/2 of appetizers after work; the J-rk wings are the best. The best part of the restaurant is the Chef's personable personality, sometimes he'll bring the food to your table and check on your service. I go here now almost everyday for lunch. Thanks Rob!!

I stumbled upon Chef Rob's Carribbean Cafe two weeks ago on my way to have my son's hair cut at a new location on Roswell Rd. To say the least, I've dined there 5 times already including today, introducing friends and family each time. The Chef/Owner is very personable and accomodating, as is his staff. The food and rum cake is the absolute best Jamaican food I've had in Atlanta. The drinks even better. The atmosphere is casual and pleasant, while upholding a polished and cultured standard. On Saturday evening they have Live Music with mellow sounds of classic Jamaica vibrating through the restaurant. With a barber and a great Jamaican cafe, this shopping plaza in Sandy Springs hasn't seen the last of me!

Chef Rob's Carribean Cruise is fantastic. The food taste very authentic and comes in large portions; plenty of leftovers whether you order from the lunch or dinner menu. What's great is, he really makes an effort to come out and greet his guests. That's something you would never get from a larger spot. Not to mention, he has egg rolls to die for. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who just likes to relax and eat a nice meal served by probably the best chef in town.

My boyfriend and I finally made it over to Chef Rob's spot last Saturday evening and as I expected, we were super satisfied. The decor and feel of the place made us feel like we were on vacation. A server opened the door and greeted us with a huge smile, and we were able to choose our seats. \r
\r
Everything we ordered was superb (it's Chef Rob--what do you expect?!). I highly recommend the coconut shrimp appetizer and shrimp fettucine entree (AWESOME!) with a Rum Pnch to wash it down. My boyfriend ordered the Jrk Chicken Eggrolls and Oxtail entree and he didn't say two words to me while he ate. It was that good!!!! :0) \r
\r
To top it all off, the music had me lifted and the live performer brought the niceness!! This is definitely our weekend getaway and I'll be telling everyone I know about our experience. Great prices, awesome service (hey Joanna!!), and FABULOUS FOOD. This place is a winner and you'd be crazy to not, at least, give it a try.

We went here after reading a good review in Atlanta magazine. My husband & I love to try new places, and this was nearby (I think there used to be an Indian place there?). J-rk chicken was awesome - best I've had in US - and the chicken curry was good too, if slightly less flavorful. Sweet potatoe fries were a nice compliment to the whole thing, but needed salt. The whole atmosphere really made me jones for a caribbean vacation! Yes, service was slow, but the place was empty on a Friday night so it wasn't hard to flag down the only waiter when we needed him. One word of warning - this is true j-rk chicken, not the boneless-skinless breast meat variety you find in Americanized restaurants. Don't go with someone who is picky about white meat only, and cringes at eating meat off the bone. But definately order a beer and enjoy some good food.\r
(someone tell citysearch that j-rk is not a bad word!)

I have been a frequent flier to Chef Rob's since its grand opening. For someone of Jamaican decent and orignally from NY where carribean food is easy to get, Chef Rob's can hang with the best. Everyone who I have taken there for lunch has loved it and has gone back on their own. I usually get the j--K chicken which is moist., flavorful and spicy -but not so that you cannot enjoy it. The vegetables are good, not overcooked. My co-workers have loved the wings, curry goat, and oxtails. The calamari appetizer is also very good, as are the coco bread and the egg rolls. The desserts are delicious, I recommend the rum cake and bread pudding-to die for. The prices are cheap-$7 for a j--k chicken lunch. I like the decor, it reminds me of a tropical island and not a strip mall, the background music is soothing but not obtrusive. Ok, the service can be a little slow, but hey mon, this is a place to relax and unwind. Also, Chef Rob himself usually makes the rounds and greets his customers which is a nice touch. So far no wait times for a table, but I am sure this will change as the word gets out. All in all, if you are looking for something different, and are tired of chain restaurants, Chef Rob's is a welome alternative.

This is fairly new spot. The carribean chicken is moist, juicy and delicious. MmMm Good!!!!\r
\r
What I don't like is they do not give you alot for your money. I was expecting to get much more even the appetizers were skimpy. The coconut prawns were good but they only give you 4 large shrimps. The carribean egg rolls were decent but you only get 2 egg rolls that are cut in half.\r
The carribean chicken is a 1/2 chicken dinner but when you get it ...it's cut up chunks of chicken and not your traditional pieces....They don't give you enough rice and peas....it was more like rice and a FEW peas...but the portion was small....I'm use to going to a carribean restaurant and you meal includes a few plaintains with your meal along with jamaican bread...bread isn't included neither is plaintains.....Other then that the food is delicious.

On time delivery. Hot, fresh. A little too much clove and salt in the stewed chicken. Oxtail slightly tough but tasty. Mini patties were on point. Thanks for the extra!
