M Salon is a great place to go if you're looking for a new salon or hair stylist and not sure of the look you want. From the minute you walk in the door you're greated by friendly, professional staff and are made to feel right at home. The salon itself has a very chic and modern feel and adds to the great experience. I've used Caitlyn for a few months now and she's the best! The first time I saw her she took plenty of time to get to know my hair and how I liked to style it. She made suggestions and didn't do anything with it until I agreed and felt comfortable with the cut she was going to give me. I get the best cuts with her that I've ever had and I always look forward to going back!

She gave me a sleek, sophisticated graduated bob that took 5 years off my face. The cut was flawlessly executed and grew out beautifully. I can't wait to go back.

Right when I walked into M Salon I was unsure of what to expect but the environment had a soothing feel to it which made me feel at ease. I really enjoyed the structure and artistic presentation of the salon. I had a feeling once I stepped foot into M Salon that this was the place for me. Not only did the place fascinate me but most of all I could not have asked for a better hairstylist. Veronica is the person I recommend everyone go to. She is everything I desire in a hairstylist and more. From her friendly, encouraging, and positive attitude to her skills and talent in hair. She made me feel comfortable and I felt I could trust her with my hair. Overall she helped me pull off a unique look that I absolutely LOVE! I love getting my hair cut and colored and I've gotten both done at many salons in Houston. It's been a long time since I've found a stylist that I can say I absolutely love. Veronica is outstanding. My consultation with her was very comforting. I knew right away I could trust her with my hair. My initial instincts were so correct. My hair turned out FABULOUS...the cut and color are perfect! I am ultra picky about hair stylists. I?ve been to loads around Houston & my friends are in the profession. M Salon seems to have a good pick of the litter.

Receptionist was friendly, atmosphere trendy, people surprisingly unpretentious for an upscale salon. Had a cut by Veronica who seems young but is confident with her styling. Doesn?t try to smooth talk you into an eccentric or boring cut. Solid consolation before reaching for the scissors. Wasn?t offended when I made tedious suggestions about ?this strand? or ?that strand?. Music is hip ? not any of the elevator or electronic catwalk sounds.

Nice vibe, laid-back employees. Standard upscale prices. Funny saddle chairs the stylists have to straddle to cut your hair. Recommend for people who are picky about what they want

For the first time in my life, I walked out of a salon smiling :) So what if it's a little pricey? If you want the best of the best, it dosn't get much better then this. M Salon is worth every penny. They are experts at providing great service and great quality. Everywhere else I've been has dissapointed me with my cut but at M Salon, the stylists actualy listen to you and give you exactly what you want. If you don't know what that is, they're full of ideas and will work with you to achieve that unique style. Veronica Le worked with my hair today and I loved everything she did from beginning to end. She was very friendly and approachable. She told me everything she was doing so there were no surprised except how gooooood it turned out! After she even gave me tips and pointers on how to keep it looking amazing evey day :) I don't trust anyone else with my hair. THANKS VERONICA!!

I came in for a trim and some much needed toning...my hair was like this copper-ish color - so not cute. My stylist, Veronica, was as hip, fresh, and charming as M Salon is. I let her know that I don't like my hair too short and not a big fan of long layers. I also have very flat hair which makes it hard to style sometimes. Veronica made sure it wasn't cut too short, but got rid of my dead-ends while adding volume by using some great techniques. Veronica was also able to tone my color and gave me a gorgeous fall look. She explained to me what she was doing and what I can do to get the same look at home. Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to! Will definitely come back!

They're all highly trained in giving you a great and edgy haircut!

I just got my hair cut from VERONICA and i am loving it!
My hair just feels so much lighter, easier to tend to, and the cut itself is just amazing!
i LOVE it!

I told her what kind of haircut i wanted, and she gave me exactly what i wanted and more! She added volume to my hair and told me how to style it to make it look great everyday!

If you don't know what you want, go there anyways.
They can help you figure out what will make you a happy client!

If you care about your hair and want it done right the first time you need to go visit Veronica. I am pretty picky when it comes to the people who cut my hair and Veronica is someone who i can trust. She uses only the best of tools and products, very friendly, and willing to work with you to come up with YOU'RE own personal style. Ok, I'll start off by saying that I read the bad reviews and getting my haircut at Msalon I've come to this conclusion: All the clients who said they did a horrible job are probably people who just wanted something "plain jane". Well let me tell you, this place has too much talent and pizazz for plain jane hair styling. If you want somthing exciting or just want to try something new and edgy this is the place for you! I am african american with extremely thick and wavy hair. When I was waiting for my haircut I asked the receptionist if they had many black clients..she told me no but I didn't worry. This was my first time getting my hair cut short so I was excited to try anything. My stylist was Chris (wonderful guy) and when I met him he asked me questions and I felt really comfortable with him. I told him I wanted a bob haircut and he immidiately said that he wanted to do something edgy and fun. I was all for it because I was tired of looking ordinary, I wanted a haircut that people would look twice at. Chris was great!!!! He allowed me to "help" him deal with my hair lol. I think I taught him a few things about "black" hair and I was very pleased with my hair cut. I came in with medium length layered hair and I left with an edgy angled bob!!! I LOVE MY HAIRCUT and I have gotten so many compliments! Even though I drive all the way from 1960 the drive is well worth the experience. Once again if you want to try something new and aren't afraid to go out of you comfort zone Msalon is for you. You'll leave feeling like a superstar, I know I did!!!!

I have always had long hair and have toyed with the idea of getting my hair cut really short for several years but have always chickend out. I finally decided to go for it and Veronica was recommended to me by a friend, who has gotten her hair cut by her. Let's just say I was definitely nervous but I shouldn't have been because my hair turned out great! I love my hair and all my friends have complimented me on how good I look with the short hair. She also showed me great tips on how to style my hair. I've never had a hairstylist do that for me. Definitely go to her!

I was referred by a friend of a friend and was told I would love my experience at M Salon...I was skeptical...but I did love it...I will refer anyone I know to this place from here on out.
I had a cut today done by Michael...I am so incredibly happy with it, he's just excellent. I won't go anywhere else if I can help it. This guy really knows his stuff and took the time to discuss what he could do (with the bad haircut I had gotten the day before), and what results I could expect. I'm super happy.

I had came in a few times to get a haircut and i found that the salon was very inviting. The receptionist was so friendly and offered me something to drink right away. The decor of the place was very modern and edgy with a touch of sophistication. I absolutely love how the place is set up. The stylist JULIE did an awesome job. She was very attentive on my needs and wants. She spent alot of time to make sure its exactly what i wanted so that way i can leave happy and coming back. Which i am definitely coming back to see her again! She does great shampooing before my cut which left me so relaxed and eased my stress away. I am thrilled to experienced such a comfortable and satisfying haircut. I have had numerous compliments about my hair and i just love it!! If you are looking for someone that will bloww your mind away with her professionalism, friendliness and knowledge of hair then make an appointment with Julie.

So, I tried to make an appointment for my birthday with Chris at the last minute; and by that I mean on the same day. Of course he was booked as I expected, but I was really lucky that Julie wasn't. :) It was my first time getting my hair cut by Julie and she was absolutely amazing. She was very friendly, fun, and attentive. She is a perfectionist and so am I. I was completely satisfied with the bob haircut she gave me and my fiance was extremely happy with it as well. I'm so glad that my hair grows so quickly, it just gives me an excuse to get my haircut by Julie or Chris again and again. :) This salon is my absolute favorite. I will never go to any other salon as long as I'm in Houston. This salon really has a talented staff. They are always learning new hair style trends which keeps the salon up to date. I read the reviews, it looked great. I called, but they had a deal running, $100 haircut for only $50. But they wouldn't make an appt for me, because none of their cuts cost $100, so I had to get something else done to raise the price so they could give me the discount. Since I color my hair myself I didn't want color or highlights and a non-hair service didn't count towards the final price. Upshot, the woman on the other hand said "sorry" and hung up.

Want a great haircut or some great funky highlights...Then run to M Salon and ask for JULIE!!! Not only is super sweet she is totally attentive your needs and wants. Anything you ask for she makes it look absolutely gorgeous. So if want to stand out or want an extra swing in your step head over to M Salon were Julie makes your hair look fabulous!!!! All I can say people is if you want to turn heads then head over NOW!!!
So needless to say CARLA LOVES HER HAIR AND SO DOES HER BOYFRIEND!!!!

Today was the second time I got my hair cut by Christopher Do and I am absolutely in LOVE with my hair cut as well as M Salon. Chris, was so friendly and listened to what I wanted my hair to look like and the end result is absolutely fabulous and just what I wanted! So, I'm originally from California and I have been looking for a great stylist that I could stick to for three years now. I went from one stylist to another every time. None of them had that WOW factor I was looking for. I have curly hair, so it's a bit difficult to find the right one. I bummed into Chris one night at a night club and quickly noticed his hair. I complimented him and come to find out that he was a stylist. He gave me a card to "M Salon". I googled them and found many great reviews, many about Chris. So I called and made an appointment. I arrived to the salon and as I was waiting in the lobby Chris was just finishing with another customer and the customer said out loud, "Chris! You're the best!" So, that alone made me feel like I was in good hands. I already had a short haircut done by Olga at Tony&Guy in the Galleria. She had cut the back a little choppy so that's why I didn't go back. I had never had my hair short. All 23 years I've had it waist or mid back long. So having it short was a big deal for me. Anyway, Chris worked wonders and gave me a great short (kinda like a bob but better) haircut. I can't wait for him to dye my hair. I have finally found the great hair stylist in Houston. I will never go to anyone else again. I'm so happy. Thank you Chris and staff for your great service.

They were able to give me an appointment with Julie on very short notice, and she did an amazing job. She was quick and efficient without rushing, and I got great results. There was no pressure to buy products, get color or other services, etc. like you get at many other places. The price was very reasonable for the work. They are open 7 days a week (which is VERY helpful when your one day off during the week is Sunday or Monday), something which is practically unheard of with other salons in Houston.

I just had my haircut this morning with Chris. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but from what I was able to tell him, he gave me the exact cut that fits my life and my face. He is very detail oriented and didn't leave a single imperfection in the cut. He went to a lot of trouble, and I appreciate it so much!!! It looks great!!!

Having spent several months trying to find a stylist in Houston who uses modern cutting techniques and understands modern style (as seen in NYC/London etc) .... I found M Salon and Micheal!

As soon as he started cutting my hair (or I should say salvaging it from a haircut I had the previous day with another Salon) I knew I was in the right place. The training and experience really shows.

Great salon, easy parking and its nice to feel that I can trust someone with my hair ... its been a while!

walked in at the last minute. It was my first time there and the receptionist was adorable and welcoming. She recommended Chris, who ironically I already knew of to be talented from a prior salon he used to work at.

I have thick hair for an Asian, and hate when stylist are always trying to pressure me to thin it out. I wanted a haircut with style that didn't require that. Well Chris delivered. Funny thing was that I didn't even have to tell him. He's also refreshingly attentive he was to detail. He'd blowdry my hair bit by bit as he snipped to make sure he didn't miss anythig. Did I mention they have complimentary champage? Yep, I was definitely happy. Will be back for sure.

After a horrible experience at another high end salon, I saw reviews for M Salon online while searching for a new one. I'm the type to stay loyal to one stylist AND salon, so long as they produce desirable results. With that said, I'M STICKING WITH M Salon. I read all the reviews on every artist there but was most captivated by Chris Do's style, so I gave it a shot. He's young but that definitely has no effect on his skills. He took his time to basically "examine" the mess that girl did that ruined my hair at the salon I went to for 5 years and explained what needed to be done in order for it flatter my face shape. He made sure that what he was recommending did NOT go against the look I was trying to achieve and most of all, he kept to his promise of keeping my length (since we know most stylists cut off almost 3-4 inches, if not more, than asked)!!! The cut he gave me provides volume around the crown of my head while cutting down my styling time in the morning by adding shorter layers underneath the top layers of hair. Who would have thought? He's definitely very innovative and has a style like no other. He makes you feel like you've been friends for years but still maintains a very professional demeanor!

I'll definitely be back for all my hair needs!

Her Angelic face complemented by long and lushish red hair makes Caitlyn exceptionally identifiable.

I finally found a hair stylist that can work with and cut my hair exactly as I want in a professional and very customer friendly environment. I visit the salon every 4-5 weeks and cannot wait to get back there. When my stylist was injured could not cut hair, Mark stepped in and did just an excellent of a job as my stylist did. They like to cut hair that fits the individual and while it may be "out of the ordinary" I cannot say how many compliments I have received no matter what length my hair is. They are up on the latest fashions and trends and are always educating themselves and their staff on "what's new" and what looks good. They are perfectionists when it comes to styling and cutting hair and that makes me feel very good about the service I am receiving.

I have not had one bad experience at my time at MSalon and am happy to say that although I am moving to Austin, the 2.5 hour drive is well worth it to continue getting my hair cut and styled by Michael and his staff.

What's great about M Salon is they make you feel welcome & comfortable the moment you walk in the door. Warm greeting, they know me by name, they offer a drink, & I have never waited longer than 5 minutes. I was nervous to try a new salon, but the trendy & modern atmosphere helped to reassure that I would walk out of this salon with a similarly trendy & not so out-dated hairstyle. What's also nice is they give me a call a couple of days after my appointment to see how I'm doing with my new haircut.

I have seen Chris Do at a hair show before & remember thinking 'i want THAT GUY to do my hair!' So I'm so glad I happened to find him at M Salon... I have no plans to return to my old hair stylist (who was quite awesome as well) now. He is a very meticulous & skillful & a pleasant guy. If you are unhappy with your haircut from someplace else, let Chris take on the challenge of fixing it up! He does not fail to please. Chris gave some careful suggestions on hairstyles that would allow me a full range of hairstyle options for my upcoming wedding. I can't wait until after the wedding so I can let him do whatever he wants to my hair! I just love that he approaches each client as an individual... he gives a proper consultation & will listen to what type of hairstyle you want... you want to be trendy yet still professional, BAM you got it. I also have a huge crush on Chris, so getting my hair done there is kind of a guilty pleasure! Can't wait for another excuse to get my hair done soon.

If you're the type of person who likes a very classic cookie-cutter hairstyle... they can do it here (just make that clear before they get started), however I strongly encourage you to take a step out of the box & try something adventurous & trendy because that's what they do best.

Chris is a very talented & skillful hairstylist with the desire to further his "art" by pursuing further education & embracing his clients and experiences. He spends his time talking to you to learn how you would like your hair, taking into consideration your personality, likes/dislikes, career, etc. If you want a trendier, funkier/punkier cut, I would recommend Chris...that's his interest and his forte. I went with a shorter hairstyle and the texturing he did was one of the best, if not the best, my hubbie has seen (hubbie's really into hair! haha). He doesn't rush and his cuts are very meticulous. (Btw, I drive all the way from Dallas to get my hair cut & color by Chris).

Caitlyn is truly an amazing stylist!! She has been doing my hair for about 4 years now and we have definitely played around with both cut and color. I cannot say at which she is more talented because she nails the cut AND color every time I see her. The complements are never-ending (thanks, Caitlyn!) and I have a good number of friends that are regular clients of hers because of the fabulous job she does on my hair. I could truly go on and on. Caitlyn is without a doubt the best at what she does!!

If you ever want to try a nice modern day salon, M Salon is your place to be. If you are trendy and not afraid of wilding out Chris Do "Rocksylist" will definitely hook you up.

Chris has been styling my hair for about a few months now. There has NEVER been a time I have NOT liked my hair. Being an african american sporting a rock hairstyle I get many compliments.

I have tried numerous salons around Houston and no hairstylist seemed to ever really give me what I wanted. After seeing great reviews on Citysearch, I decided to go to M Salon to get my highlights touched up and get a trim. Chris is AWESOME! =) He took the time to give me a proper consultation and FIXED my hair. I have never been more satisfied with my hair. I LOVE the color and the cut. It's a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for: QUALITY! I am not a vain person at all, but when I got home I couldn't stop looking in the mirror! =D My bf even noticed an extra bounce in my step.

I really would like to recommend this place. Its in a very convenient location if your centrally located in Houston. I always go to and from different hair stylists and sometimes i really didn't care who cut my hair because chances are my hair was going to displease me and I was going to feel as if I had made a mistake. After I gave birth to my baby... my hair was a mess and it took a really long time until I was able to concentrate on myself! A friend told me to go to M Salon and ask for Chris as a stylist. I told him what i was thinking about and how I wanted my hair and after listening he suggested we cut my hair a certain way.. Knowing no cut terminologies he simply took time to explain it quiet well.. With that said I trusted my hair with him and the turnout was wonderful! I was thrilled with how it turned out and the time to style or the level of difficulty was not hard at all.. especially when I'm on the go or busy with the baby. Chris was friendly and I found it was very easy to carry on a conversation with him. The salon is very nice and the atmosphere made me feel as i was V.I.P. The price for the haircut was very reasonable and I will definitely return to this place... It's so hard to find someone who can cut your hair and make it look great considering how majority of these salons nowadays are rushing through to get to their next client! Take my advice, try this salon & ask for Chris.

I've already had a few haircuts by Chris Do and each time i am surprised by the amazing work he does. I tend to get bored with certain hairstyles after a while and am always open to trying something new and intriguing. Chris always provides creative, interesting ideas that i could possibly do with my hair and if i cannot decide i simply let him choose what he thinks would look best. Chris works with a "I Never Lose" mentality and puts his utmost effort into trying to please customers. Well, i gotta say i am always pleased with M Salon's service. I recommend Chris Do as a hairstylist, he makes your hair want to grow back longer so you can go back to him and he can cut it again.

Pros: awesome haircut for good price and great service

Cons: get this outta here there are NO CONS

M Salon has been a terrific salon for the past year that i've gone. Chris in particular has been fantastic. he's cut my hair for over 4 or 5 years and each cut gets better an better. His passion, knowledge and dedication are his strongest points, he's definetly a guy to look for in the future. The staff is very welcoming as well.
terrific boss, stylists and assistants.

Pros: time management, social interaction, a great experience

Cons: there arent too many cons to think of.

If you only like your hair a certain way then this salon isn't for you. This salon is for the person who is in the Now. A trendy risk taker who wants to make a statement. And to answer the prior complaint to the girl who was getting married....If you are getting married then you should be trying hairstyles months and months in advance not several weeks. Wedding hair and style should be tested every month for at least a year prior to your big day.

I am from NYC and travel down to Houston every couple months for business. Whenever I am there I am sure to go and visit Chris Do and his magic fingers. I must say there is just some people you cannot please. No matter how much they have pictures sometimes their hair cannot be worked that way. Although Chris does come close to being a miracle worker. He really cares about pleasing the customer and giving you the optimum creative style for your budget. Chris isnt one of these stylist diva's either he really understands where the customer is coming from. He wants you to look your best and sometimes natural hair color isn't the best. Sincerely I wish Chris would come up here and moonlight for the summer we need more stylists like him here.

My hair is a curly mess... but when Im in houston its as smooth as silk.

My wife was recommended to M Salon through a friend of mine not too long ago; Specifically, a stylist named Christopher Do.(And let me tell you ladies he is VERY easy on the eyes she said!!) She wasn't exactly sure what she wanted so he stepped in and gave his opinion about what would look good on her.! I was scared at first but he seemed to know what he was talking about so she let him loose!!! The environment was very friendly and welcoming and to top it all off...they had MIMOSAS!!!!! All kidding aside this was a very wonderful experience and she would highly recommend Christopher Do any day of the week!!!

Pros: Classy, Professional, Fun

I recently moved to Houston and was nervous about trying a new hair stylist as I am getting married in a few months. I was impressed by the comments on citysearch so I called up M Salon and spoke with the owner who recommended I try Chris. The owner was very nice, all the staff were courteous and impressive, Chris was sweet but...I was very unhappy with the haircut. I asked him to take off as little as possible because I wanted my hair long for my wedding, and he took 3 inches off and left my hair an awkward length. I wanted to cry. There was no style whatsoever to the cut, it just hung and brought my face and features down. The back was cut on an angle, and the old-fashioned cut at the front was sloppy. I guess he was trying to do a gradual cut down from my face but there were chunks of long, then short, then back to long again. It was a mess. thankfully my hair has grown back fast and I found a wonderful stylist who fixed everything.

also, Chris tried to convince me that my hair color needed a lot of fixing. I have naturally dark brown/black hair, no highlights and I cover a few gray hair roots every couple months. He told me my color was uneven and recommended I have him strip out the color (which was not going to be cheap), and have him recolor my hair all over (again, not cheap). did I mention my hair color is my natural color? you would know this is crazy if you saw my hair. of course, my new hairstylist disagreed and recommended I keep doing what I'm doing, and said doing what Chris suggested would fry my hair and cost me a lot of money for no reason.

Pros: very friendly staff

Cons: awful haircut
