Pros: lovely back garden

I have been to PT's twice and the reason it stands out is because of the care and service given by Sylvia and Eduardo. Their care and attention makes a reasonable restaurant into a must return. Good pasta is good pasta, but you need more than that to make a good restaurant.

This place was very good and better than what I had expected based on some of the reviews. The server did not appear too happy when we showed up at 9:30 for dinner on a Thursday so I got the impression they were closing soon, but when we left around 10:30 they were still seating people. It is nice to have a place close to home that will serve food at that hour on a weeknight. The Orecchiette Ceci and Sei Assaggini were delicious. I will definitely be going back to try more pastas!

Ate here when it first opened. Wonderful. Warm, rustic atmosphere, attentive service, flavorful food. Great addition to the neighborhood. This visit, not so much, which was a bummer. There was a prix fixe for "Eat out in Brooklyn" during March. Not sure what that was but I think I know what soup is. However, when I ordered the kale and cannelli soup off the prix fixe it was a stew. Actually it was less liquid than a stew, more like oatmeal. Nice flavor, but not a soup. I wished the (very nice)waiter had told me it might not be what I would expect, authentic Italian or not. It was filling, which was good because when I got my tiny portion of vegetable tagliatelle, I wasn't too hungry. The pasta was handmade and perfectly cooked but the small portion was RIDICULOUS for the price, even prix fixe. It was weird because my friend got the venison(also prix fixe) and this portion was larger than the pasta. Then we had to practically beg for our dessert and finally our check. Maybe it was an off night, but unfortunately I won't return. And since it is cash only they really should get an ATM, well hidden of course, like Aurora, so it's not an eyesore.

Pros: Beautiful romantic atmosphere, Italian waitstaff

Cons: Wine list is pricey

I'm much older than the majority of the young adults that eat here; but, I never felt uncomfortably or in any way out of place. I've been here 6 times (by myself, with my wife and with friends) since it opened and have not been disappointed with the food or the wine suggestions. The staff is great, the wine is great and the food is much better than the usual stuff offered at this type of neighbohood restaurant. This place is more than it seems to be and the owners definitely have it going for them. This old guy and his wife would eat there more often if it had a low table and chairs with backs. I tend to fall off the stools after a couple of bottles of wine; but, to date, I haven't let this stop me from enjoying a great little restaurant. (the stools not the falling).

Cons: If you use to LI's parking advantages you'll find it tough - if your a New Yorker, it's no problem.

On Friday evening a large group of friends and I decided to head over to PT in Williamsburg for some dinner. I had been there a few times during the week for a quick bite after work and adored the food and atmosphere. By the time we got there the place was super packed. Once we were seated in the adorable garden and had placed our orders. we did have some delay in getting our food. But the manager, Angelo, kindly came over and explained that the kitchen was short staffed that evening and apologized, offering us a bottle of wine as we waited!! The food was certainly worth the wait and we ended up enjoying the slowed down pace of our Friday dinner. This place is just superb - great, honest service and unbeatable food. What a needed addition to this neighborhood!

Lovely little place for dinner, wine and conversation. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the wine list. We took our time with the meal and never felt rushed - a VERY important quality :) Interesting that all seating is on tall stools, but it was completely comfortable and, if anything, added to the casual friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious and the portions were just right; we had room for appetizers, entrees, desserts and wine and we felt juuust right afterwards. It'd be a great place to go with a group of buddies or on a date... a good place for intimate conversation and great food!

This place is a true diamond in the rough.
I hope it will stay like this for a while.
Almost hidden, with the magic feel of a quite intimate secret spot.
Details are really important for this people and everywhere you look you'll find something surprisingly charming and beautiful.
Besides all this great atmosphere the food is absolutely terrific simple and well balanced.
We had a special white fish carpaccio which was so delicate and fresh I could have eaten 3 more also the tuna salad was great.
Then we followed with a super simple ravioli with porcini and a braised pork belly which I just loved.
A genuinely smiling yet attentive and helpful waiter (Angelo) comped us a chioccolate tart which was just like a ladder to heaven.....or to hell (considering my 20 lbs overweight)

Will go back really soon

Thank you

Went there with a couple of friends. We weren't sure about sharing a table with other two people but it ended up being a lot of fun. The food was very good, the lasagna was definitely the best I had in a long time (since my mom used to cook for me in Italy). My friends had the specials of the night and they were all excellent. Te dessert I had, a white chocolate tart, was impressive. The wine selection was good and the waiter was very helpful in choosing the right one for the food we ordered. Definitely a keeper.

We are long time fans of D.O.C. and finally made it to P.T. for a truly remarkable dining experience. This restaurant truly has it all. The design of the place is stunning without being austere. From the detail of the bathroom light switch, to the bread served in a brown paper lunch sack, to the silver ware placed on individual grey stones, it is a warm and delightful place to have dinner. The staff is remarkable. Don't expect French service, expect an authentic Italian dinning experience. This is the real deal. The servers are incredibly knowledgeable about the unique wine list and incredible food. If you are lucky, you might get a bear hug from the chef who comes out to see how people are enjoying their meal! My favorite items were the special appetizers of a single ravioli stuffed with venison and the shrimp salad with fennel which was refreshing and tasty. The en trees were also wonderful. The home made Tagliatelle pasta dish with a boar chocolate ragout was incredible. The lobster ravioli special was a subtle delight. We can't wait to go back and try more!

I couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. It's Italian -- with Italian staff
The homemade pasta was superb! We tried the pumpkin filled ravioli and that was delicious! The ribeye was very good - just enough sauce to complement the meat. Very good! Overall, a very nice experience. An a extra thumbs up for the scrumptious chocolate suffle?!

I live nearby and i stop by at PT for casual and for fancy dinners. it never disappoints. The dishes are unique and delicious without the high prices and the waitstaff is there to make sure you enjoy your night. They have daily specials and the homemade pastas are perfect....i think this place is for the intellectual palate only.
.............So...a response to the previous review.......Williamsburg is plenty of restaurants where "you can understand a word", but you don't understand the good food!!!

I went with a group for New Years? Eve and it was an overpriced fiasco. I hate going to a restaurant and feeling intimidated into ordering from the Prix Fixe menu so I didn?t. After asking the waiter about 4 times to repeat what our options were (we couldn?t understand a word he said) my significant other and I decided we wanted to share two entrees. Those entrees were full-priced and when they came, there was nothing on the plate. We walked out feeling taken advantage of and starving. We?re not into big portions either. Everything tasted like it was saturated in butter. We will never return. It kind of ruined our New Year's Eve. Overpriced, pretentious restaurants need to stay out of Williamsburg, especially if they can't deliver the goods to back it up.

After a few times there I decided to share some thoughts about this place. The atmopsphere at PT is great, casual, relaxed and cozy, it just feels right. Anyway the main reason I keep on going there is to enjoy some good wine and some good food. My favorite dish is the vincisgrassi, it's true that I love lasagna in general, but this one is just superior. The appetizers are all great, fresh, simple and very tasty....just the way they are supposed to be. The menu is quite concise, but I always found a good number of different specials to choose from. Great spot !

The not so easily found spot was definetely worth the search.
A very cozy atmosphere made me feel at home, The food made me want to take a trip to Italy even for a day.
The home made Pastas were great, I had the Tagliatelle with wild boar and I tried the Special Ravioli, a strange but really interesting combination of red beets, ricotta and poppy seed butter.
Higly recomended

Went on a Friday night with my husband. As we stepped in, we were gladly impressed with the appearance of the place: looks cozy and not trying too hard to be trendy. We sat at the bar. The two bartenders/waiters were more interested in watching the dust settle than to serve us. We felt unwelcomed from the get go. The few words dispensed by the waiters had more attitude than anybody who has ever worked at Lucky Chen'g. OK, maybe that's one way to highlight that they are Italian bartenders and that we should be thankful that we are eating (for the first and last time) there. The food, however, was as 'nostrano' as Applebee's Festa Italiana. The homemade tagliatelle were by no means homemade and had the consistency of any Barilla pasta that has been cooked overnight. My fish ('orata') was floating in a warm broth that was unbearably tasteless and was served with some vegetables that must have spent the night with the tagliatelle. My husband had an OK lasagna. The crowd? A lot of out-of-towners (think Milwaukee) and Long Islanders. "Si mangia molto meglio altrove".

As a true neighborhood person, this restaurant just became my absolute favorite.
This truly is like nothing else around.
I have seen the wait staff welcoming every guest with warmth and the ambiance is just outstanding and cozy. Like a little hideout. Simple touches make you feel right at home. Most importantly the food is marvelous and authentic.
I love dining and I can only say that for the quality this place offers the menu is priced really low.
You'll see me there at all the time.

At the insistence of a friend who has been raving about this place since it opened, I went here for dinner over the weekend. Though this friend has impeccable taste in food, I wondered how a brand new spot could be so good as to warrant her high level of enthusiasm. I quickly learned, however, that she was not exaggerating - this place is a gem. We split all of our dishes, and they were all marked by freshness and an innovative blending of flavors and textures. The pumpkin soup, for example, was saved from typical pumpkin-soup-blandness by just the right dash of chives and a dollop of cream. The seafood stew had the most perfectly sliced (paper-thin) potatoes in it, giving it a sort of delicate oomph. But the clincher, for me, was the perfect barley risotto with prawns. I was dreaming about this dish the next morning before breakfast, and I absolutely did not want to eat anything else. On top of all this, the atmosphere is casual but gracious, and the staff was friendly and genuinely excited about the food - who doesn't like that?

My husband and I recently made the trek from midtown Manhattan to dine here with a couple of friends and cannot tell you how worthwhile the trip was. Settled in my "high" chair, I proceeded to eat my fill of the savory squash soup starter that was topped with yummy salmon tartar, then onto a delightful mesclun salad sprinkled with goat cheese. And les pieces de la resistance that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside were the spicy asparagus-rolled-beef and seafood scalloped-potato stew! But I have not even mentioned dessert ... which included a tasting of a refreshing carrot mousse (I know it sounds "different" but it was oh so goood) and chocolate cake oozing with chocolate sauce. This last dish was so delish that it had my husband ready to go to battle with a girlfriend of ours for the last bite! I would definitely recommend this place to all my "foodie" friends!

I had to go to see an art show at a Williamsburg gallery and looked up on city search for some nice restaurant. The opening sucked but thank God I found this little pearl that just made my day.
This place remind me a little bit of Paesant but it's some how more enjoyable I guess because of the superb quality of the food and because a little less claustrophobic.
I just love the idea of sharing a table with other people and in fact my friend and I made a connection with this super cool guys and went out for a drink after dinner (at Rose an other brilliant Williamsburg spot).
Anyhow, we shared a salad with phillo pastry and cheese which was really simple but also really well balanced. As a main I had a roasted organic chicken breast which was absolutely amazing.... I know I am just talking about a freaking chicken breast but I swear it was really special. My friend had a pasta dish with muscles and bean after the suggestion of the waiter. That too was quite unique and delicious.

We spent about 35$ each including two glass of a very good Sicilian red but both felt like we had a meal that was worth not only the 35 bucks but also the price of the cab both ways (the L train did not work).

The gentlemen next to us shared the same impression abut this little place which is been open since one month only.
I think PT is going to be recognized as one of the best restaurant in New York pretty soon.
I will surly come back soon.
Thank's city search now you really got me!!

just love this spot. step down those steps and you'r welcome in a diffrent world.
i went there with my date and took us a minute to decide to sit because we had to share a big table with another couple. after that we where very sceptic about the menu as it only consists of 8 items (some of them available in small and large size).after that a friendly guy that i believe to be the owner told us about the special and presented the concept of this very short menu... simple as it is: quality and freshness vs. quantity but average.
he also suggested a really good bottle of wine for a budget.
started off with a tuna salad with shrimp and aioli and followed with a special bass and a venizon ravioli.
now i cannot say anything about the food but the fact that i'm still dreaming about it.

the decor is super warm and cool but could be the walls are slightly empty... i guess it will take some time for them to take care of those details.

price was right and i cannot wait to go back.....great job guys!!

i went there with my date and took us a minute to decide to sit because we had to share a big table with another couple. after that we where very sceptic about the menu as it only consists of 8 items (some of them available in small and large size).after that a friendly guy that i believe to be the owner told us about the special and presented the concept of this very short menu... simple as it is: quality and freshness vs. quantity but average.
he also suggested a really good bottle of wine for a budget.
started off with a tuna salad with shrimp and aioli and followed with a special bass and a venizon ravioli.
now i cannot say anything about the food but the fact that i'm still dreaming about it.

the decor is super warm and cool but could be the walls are slightly empty... i guess it will take some time for them to take care of those details.

price was right and i cannot wait to go back.....great job guys!!

Pros: class a food and wine at a good price and friendly service

I was heading to Bonita (across the street) last weekend when I spotted this place across the street. I figured I would try something new this time, and I was definitely not disappointed. The place is cozy, had great service, and great food. The wine selection was pretty affordable, and helped me win some brownie points with my date. There weren't alot of items on the menu, but who cares when you serve food this good.

I was in NYC last week and I decided to try this brand new italian restaurant, I was quite sceptic at first because I'm from Italy and I'm used to high standard when it comes to eating, but I immediately changed my mind, the ambience is terrific, the guys were very friendly and polite and the food was the best. This place is just perfect, I'll go there over and over again

Another gem on the Southside of Williamsburg!!!!! PT serves high-end quality cuisine, combined with a tasteful, non-pretentious ambience, service, and prices. I have dined at a lot of the top restaurants in New York, but I have to say PT takes the cake in Italian food. Realizing his recipes with only the freshest organic produce and herbs, homemade perfectly-cooked pasta, and savory sauces that top all of the assorted dishes offered, PT's Italian celebrity chef is clearly a driving, culinary genius in this sophisticated, laidback, candlelit niche. Not to be missed is the outdoor garden area, or Monday prix-fixe nights introducing alternating regional Italian fare.
