I know that it's a chain, but this pizza is good. I live right across the street, so I don't have to deal with parking, which, I can imagine, would be an issue. I haven't had anything besides pizza and soup, but everything else looks really good. My boyfriend makes it a point to go every time he comes in to town (long distance relationships suck) and get the pesto chicken pizza. The slices are HUGE, so all you'd need is one. The crust is crispy but yet doughy. Delicious!

I cancelled a delivery order because it took (way) too long and demanded a refund. I got the refund and figured it was time to warm up the leftovers in the fridge. Minutes later the manager Alex showed up at my front door with my order. I have had food delivered to me in this city for a long time, at many different places, and I thought I had seen it all. This was a first. Thank you Alex!

I just ate at the Midtown location with some of my coworkers. I've been eating here a while; the pizza is delicious and the service has ALWAYS been top notch!
I brought a bunch of my coworkers down for happy hour for the great drink specials they have ($3 beer and wine) until 7pm. Our server Steve was on top of everything we needed, and the deal we got (10 or more drinkers = 1/2 pizza) was great!
Overall, I had a great time, and the location is great too (right in the heart of Midtown). Will DEFINITELY be back for more!!! :-)

WORST PIZZA PLACE EVER!! I got aweful pizza and customer service 3 times by this place. And I have only ordered from there 3 times! First time, I ordered a 2 topping pizza, and it gets delivered to my house and it was plain cheese - NO TOPPINGS. I call back and all the will gIve me is a slight discount on my next order. Second time, I was ordering for delivery at work downtown Houston.(and I never got the discount they promised) I order a deep dish pizza and they bring it to me completely burnt BLACK! I call and am upset, and I ask to have another pizza delivered bc that one I got was not even edible. 2 hours later and still no pizza, I call, get put on hold for over 10 minutes, have to hang up and call back. Finally I talk to the manager and he completely brushes me off and says what do you want me to do about it. I went off. Third time, ordered at work again (at the request of my co-workers...not my choice) and my pizza is delivered (after 1.5 hours) but was obviously carried on its side and all the toppings - cheese - everything- had slid over and left me with a big slimy circle of bread. The delivery guy didn't care about it either and just took off. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM NY PIZZERIA IN MIDTOWN! THE MANAGEMENT MUST CONSIST OF NOTHING BUT MORONS! THEY DONT CARE AND GIVE YOU THE WORST PIZZA OF YOUR LIFE!

Bad Cheesesteak, really bad. I went here hoping for the best and just had a cold meal and a tough cheesesteak.

I'm very disappointed with this place. I placed an order for delivery, and after they brought me my food, I saw that they got my order wrong. When I called back, they refused to fix my order. They admitted that they got my order wrong but flat out refused to bring me the right food. The person I spoke to was also extremely rude. I'm never going back!

While in town for business we walked from our hotel to the Gray Street area to find somewhere for a relaxing dinner. The outside of New York Pizzeria is inviting. They have tables lining the sidewalks. It looked to be the perfect place for a glass of wine and dinner. Everything was fine until we actually placed our order.

We asked for a wine list. There is an entire wall taken up with wines. However, we were presented with a plastic card holder containing a limited choice. We ordered our wine. 15 minutes later the waitress returned with my friends glass but not mine. She advised they were out of that wine. She failed to return with the list so I could chose another. 10 minutes later she came back. with the list. This should have been a clue. But sitting outside in the evening breeze was enjoyable. We are easy going and thought it was no big deal.

The salads came quick. The cucumber salad was delicious. However it did not contain feta as advertised. Good none the less. This was the bright spot.

I ordered the greek calzone. My friend ordered tortellini. The calzone came out 15 minutes later. But there was nothing for my friend. No mention of his dinner at all. We assumed the waitress returned to the kitchen to get his dinner. 15 more minutes passed. The waitress came by and we pointed out that we were missing a dinner. No apology, no regret. Just a confirmation of what he had ordered. We waited another 15 minutes and nothing. We decided to give them 20 more minutes. No one ever returned. Note that they were not busy - this was a monday.

At 20 minutes we got up to leave. The waitress happened to be coming back outside. She asked if we needed anything? We again explained that we had never gotten our 2nd meal. She looked confused. Again no apology, no acknowledgement. We left just enough cash to cover the food that was delivered. We left.

The pizza was soggy. I complained that they pizza was flimsy and the only response was that they make pizza everyday and that is how it was. No apologies or understanding. I will never go to their Westheimer location or any other NY Pizzeria location again if this is there attitude.

This pizza place is close to home so I go here often but the service is horrible. Today I called for a slice and showed up 15 min to pick it up. It wasn't ready. There were two guys and they both told me that I never called in an order. When I told them what time I called it in and asked if it was ready, they said it was. They took an uncooked cheese pizza and threw some toppings on it without first baking it like they should. When they gave it to me, the guy almost drops the whole box on the floor so I check it to make sure that the cheese didn't fall off. Good thing I checked because I ordered the prosciutto pizza and all it had on there were tomatoes and three bits of prosciutto. when I asked where the basil was, the guy threw the basil on and said there you go (without washing his hands and after he was manning the cash register!). He then started arguing with me that there was no mistake and that the pizza was right to begin with. I then asked where the cheese was and the olive oil and he kept arguing saying there was no mistake and the pizza was right. He had a horrible attitude and acted like he was better than me and that I was an idiot for expecting basil and cheese on my pizza (look on t he menu, it says basil, mozzarella cheese, oilive oil, etc.) When I asked what his name was, he told me he wasn't giving me his name so I couldn't complain about him. Unbelievable. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They act like they are so great when the pizza is always undercooked and soggy or burned and dry. They only are in business because they are on West Gray but as soon as midtown develops more and businesses start cropping up, they are out of business. Stay away from this place!

Split a deep dish pizza with three meats that were very haphazardly placed on the bland dough with average sauce and cheese. Not nearly as good as Barry's where I have eaten deep -dish pizza on many occasions. Product is plentiful but I gave away the leftovers to my roommate which has been virtually unheard of in the recent past due to the doughy dough! Did have a decent chicken marsala on another occasion which was warm and edible. So much pizza, though, is so mediocre at so many restaurants. Ate these meals at the new Woodlands location on 242. Nice ambience.

I went to this location looking for my old friend Jorge,to bad he doesn't work there anymore. They have new managment, but this place still so good. They have great service, the food is excelent. I am a very picky eater, and almost important as the quality of finished product is the freshness/quality of ingredients, and the cleanliness of the facility. This neighborhood pizza/italian food has excellent fresh ingredients that are made by a friendly family. Hand tossed pizza that is thin crust is my favorite. Tomato sauce is spicy and full of flavor. Patio area to eat. Very Casual. I'm an Italian New Yorker and I'm telling you by far this is the "real deal"!

I previously ordered an Italian Pie. I was told 20 minutes and showed up at the appointed time. I arrived 20 minutes later just in time to see the staff place my pizza in the oven. I did not appreciate having to wait the 15 minutes for the pizza. I took the pizza home and found to my dissatisfaction that the Italian Pie had ice cream cone sized globs of ricotta cheese and no mozzarella. I called and complained. I was told my next order would be 50% off. I ordered the discounted pizza and was told I would have to purchase a cookie as well, otherwise the order would not exceed the $10 minimum allowed for delivery. I thought this was ridiculous but I consented. I had to wait over an hour for my pizza to arrive. I was concerned when the delivery driver would not look me in the eye. Shortly I understood why, the order was incorrect. I ordered the New York Village minus the vegetables. My pizza arrived with half vegetables and half without. When I called to complain the person answering the phone rudely interrupted me and claimed that I had ordered the pizza with half vegetables. No one in my household eats pizza with vegetables. He kept insisting that I was the person who was incorrect and refused to rectify the error. You cannot make up service this bad.

Cons: Limited parking, poor service, constant errors, rude staff

I'm not sure what is going on with this location but I have been twice in the last couple months and had horrible service. The owner/manager has no idea what he is doing apparently. The staff in the morning time is completely rude. The food took forever to come out and when it finally arrived at our table it was COLD. The food is less than blah and the service is incompetent. I used to come on a regular basis and get great service. Something is definetly up with this location. They need to fix it quick or they will lose more customers. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

It was the day after the New Year and I just celebrated my birthday and a bunch of co-workers deciced to take me to lunch. And what better place to go would be my favorite food! Italian...or so I thought. Off of a co-workers referral we decided to go to "New York Pizzeria" Kinda excited until I sat down to begin my special lunch. The service was horrible food took forever and it was 11:00 AM ! Thinking a head to beat the rush but we were wrong! I ordered the Fried Calamari as a appetizer it was very chewy and bland to say the least! Next we tried the Greek Salad with extra Feta...it was brought to the table with out extra Feta and when asked for more I was told I would be charged again! Ridiculous-how hard is it to grap a cup of cheese to sprinkle on a salad! Then...My main dish was the Pesto Chicken Pizza, I was told it was delicious and my co-worker gave rave reviews...but it was cold as well...IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH THE HELP? Get it together with your waitstaff?! Rude and abnoxious to say the least.

OK, the owner is an odd individual. I took a friend there and ordered pizza and salads. They messed up my order by not delivering the salads. No problem I thought, I let them know when the bill came that we did not get our salads (the charge was on the bill.) The owner looked at me like I was lieing and said that we never ordered salads. So, I asked him why he had charged us for salads, he said he didn't. (Actually kind of comical.) So, I simply showed him the bill and he actually got angry about having to remove it from our bill. I felt like I was on a candid camera show. Frankly, there are far better pizza places in Houston to put up with the non-service nonsense.

Pros: Location - but if you like pizza- try Farrago's next door.

Cons: The mangement, the service, the pizza

I don't know who owns this location but they are cheap when it comes to toppings and everything else. I ordered the New Yorker, which has a lot of toppings, when they brought it to me it looked like I ordered a cheese pizza. I let them slide the first time. However, I went back to give it another chance and this time the messed up my order. Usually restaurants throw away the entire pizza and start from scratch with a new pizza, but not this one. They actually wiped off the toppings and added the toppings I ordered. Let?s face it, if you?re that cheap, then maybe you should move to a cheaper location so customers don't have to suffer.

Go to the suburbs if you want to visit a New York Pizzeria! They give you a lot more for your money.

Good food in a casual, low-hassle atmosphere. The weekday lunch hour tends to attract a crowd. Enjoy pizza, pastas, salads, and ice-cold beer. I have spent more money here over the years than in any other restaurants combined. Always good food for a good price - what else can you ask for?

Delicious food, amazing dessert, and great wine selection. Good customer service. I dine out frequently and love trying new places. I found the food to be very fresh and authentic. You really need to try this place. They have a great wine list with lots of interesting wines. The atmosphere has a very cozy, neighborhood cafe feel to it. Will definitly be back soon.

I usually eat here about two to three times a week. The dishes are great!! The pasta and salads are great also, I highly recommend the Pesto Pasta Salad. Everytime I eat here I try a new dish and have never been disappointed. The servings are large and come to you sizzling hot. It's so much better than any pizza place around . Fresh quality ingredients always. Definitly would recommend to family and friends.

I just had dinner at Westheimer and Chimney rock location. The service was AWESOME!! I ordered a Greek pizza. The ingredients were fresh, the pizza was cooked just right Thin and Crispy -just like the pie in New York. We love this place because they serve so much more than just pizza. My favorite pasta dish is the pasta di mare. The sauce is spicy the seafood is fresh and the pasta is cooked al dente. Also make sure you try the Tiramisu, what a great treat at the end of a delicious meal!!

The people at our favorite Heights-area pizzeria know our take-out order, but last week after a drink or two, we decided to try something different. That day we'd received another pizza delivery coupon on our front door, so we ordered from the West Gray Location.

We ordered a "new" Italian pizza listed on the coupon sheet and were told it would be here in about 45 minutes. This pizza was advertised as having roasted peppers, pepperoni and Italian sausage. We were pleasantly surprised when it showed up much sooner, but that was followed mainly by disappointment. First of all, the "roasted" peppers were just raw green bell peppers. I like raw green bell peppers, but why call them anything else? I don't think the 10 minutes they're in the pizza oven counts as roasting. The Italian sausage was pretty good though.

One big issue with the pizza was how soggy it was. Too much sauce? I don't know. This may be why it's better to eat in the restaurant, but I don't expect that we'll try that any time soon. I picked it up and the entire thing flopped down. It was so flaccid that it was even hard to fold in half to eat! This leads me to my last criticism: the crust. It took me a little while to decide what it reminded me of, but I eventually figured it out...it tasted just like the Pillsbury pizza dough you buy in a can and roll out. I'm not saying it is; that's just what it tasted like.

My last comment is more of a question. Why is the word 'organic' in quotation marks? Maybe I'm a grammar critic in addition to a pizza critic, but I don't understand it. Is it not certified organic by the USDA, so they have to call it "Organic"?

Pros: Fast delivery

Cons: Soggy crust, toppings weren't as advertised

The first time we ordered delivery from this location, it was here in half-an-hour and unbelievably delicious. The next two times, delivery was over an hour late (taking 1 1/2 - 2 hours to arrive) and the pizza was cold and stale. Yuck!!

The counter help got the order wrong, and refused to make it right when brought to their attention. He just scowled and made denials, pointing fingers of blame, even when my dinner companion confirmed what I had ordered. No refund nor willingness to provide what was ordered. At the time of the order the counter help did not repeat order back when made nor issue any sort of receipt showing what was ordered, and thus assumed responsibility. I left and went to Pronto's on Montrose, which is much better pizza anyway. Glad I paid with credit card because I will dispute the charges.

I really like the food here, but every time I think about going here I am reluctant to go back beacuse while the food is really good and the prices are good, every time I have either dined in here or ordered delivery from here, they have been really mean! I guess this adds to the NY "atmosphere" but it is really kind of irritating. If you go, go expecting good food and not for the ambiance or service.

I went to this location for dinner on a Monday night with my brother. It was the worst service ever. We ordered the fried ravioli as an appetizer. My brother had the baked ziti and I had a meatball calzone. The friend ravioli came out still FROZEN! Yes thats right, it was on the plate, and it was still frozen. I could not believe this. So I took it back to the counter, and the guy at the cash register (some kid that didnt care about service or about his customers) just took it back to the kitchen to re-fry them. Didnt even apologize at all. It was like he was doing me a favor by re-frying the ravioli. My brother ordered a glass of wine with dinner. When he received the wine, he noticed that the wine glass had lipstick stains on it! We were absolutely disgusted. He returned the wine, and the kid at the counter simply poured the wine from the lipstick stained glass to a new glass. Thats it. Didnt even apologize, yet again. We got the food in a timely manner, but my calzone was bland and over all not tasty. I will never come back to this establishment again. This was actually the second time coming here, and the first time was no better than the second. I just wanted to give it another try, and now I know to never return.

I took my dinner club Eight Friends Out to NY Pizzeria for a little taste of how it's done back east, and our host Jorge made sure we were royally cared for. We had a mini-Progressive dinner starting at Farrago's for drinks and moving to NY Pizzeria, so I stopped in early to confirm arrangements with Jorge. He was extremely accomodating and made sure we received special seating, special service, and of course, the most delicious thin crust pizza in Houston! We had 5 different kinds, extremely flavorful and crispy, and then we ended with huge desserts fit for a true NY or Boston Italian...Italian cream cake, a dark chocolate cake, NY cheesecake, and my favorite--a connoli they filled fresh with ricotta & chips--yum yum! All this in a very picturesque new midtown neighborhood--we loved it! Hats off to Jorge!

I live at the post so this place is easy to walk to. They have 3 tables out front when the weather is nice. They are very nice people working there. I think they have wait staff but I never see them. Normally if you order from the register they bring the cook bring the food to you. If you eat there the pizza is always good. I have ordered out a few times from friends homes and the pizza always seems soggy. It really does fell like you are in New York. They have a great dessert selection. There chocolate truffle cake is amazing. They also have live music on Friday nights.

i usually order pizza at least 1 or 2 times a week (sometimes 3). about 3 months ago i discovered new york pizza. the best kept secret in my neighborhood. the cheese pizza is amazing- especially the huge 29" pizza for a great value. i have referred all of my friends to new york pizza and they too now consider it their favorite. However, i have only eaten at 2 locations. the location by the galleria on westheimer was no where as delicious as the one located on west gray. besides the taste, the service is fantastic. they recognise me when i call to order (maybe not a good thing :) ) i always pick up my order. delivery is handy, but it never tastes as good.
