I had an oil change and a diagnostic for an engine light that wouldn't turn off. They charged $35 for an oil change and $89 to tell me what was wrong with my cylinders causing the engine light. Then they told me over the phone that my car was all done, but when I arrived they hadn't even started the oil change.

I told the owner (Lisle Budden) his prices were high and I told him that even though I knew the mechanic deserved to be paid for his time to diagnose my engine, it was still a bit frustrating to pay $89 and still drive away with a broken car. He then told me that if I found a repair shop that didn't charge a diagnostic fee he would refund my $89 fee.

Well, I took my car to Honcura in Irving and they do not charge a diagnostic fee, even if I decide to get my car repaired elsewhere after the diagnostic was performed. I provided the Preston Kwik Kar owner proof along with the phone number for Honcura and he not only refused to give me my refund per our agreement, but then banned me from his shop for complaining.

Buyer beware. The owner is dishonest and lacks any semblance of customer service skills.

Scott simply wanted us to professionally diagnose the vehicles problems provide him with an accurate estimate and do all of this for no charge...so he could "shop" the repair price. I suggested he take it to the Honda dealer and see if they would perform all the diagnostics for FREE which of course they would not. Instead he takes our diagnosis and written estimate to another shop who gladly fixes exactly what our Technician found to the problem. Having the issue fixed by another small independent shop who agrees totally with our assessment and performs the repair of course is not going to charge an additional fee....he simply agreed with ours. I am bewildered how Scott can accuse of dishonesty by charging a fair price of $89 for a comprehensive diagnosis of his vehicle problems...and somehow we are described as dishonest? Wonder if Scott would perform his professional duties for free? LB the Owner

The owner and managers are very kind. Most places treat women differently when you walk in the door....we know when you're trying to rip us off. This place tells you what you need without trying to scam you. I would recommend to everyone! Wonderful service and does a great job!!!

This is the best place to get an oil change. The owners are so friendly and are eager to help you with your car. They know their customers. The service is great and they do a good job getting you in and out without much of a wait.

I have taken my 1998 Cadillac Seville SLS and my 2005 Honday Odyssey to this Kwik Kar and continue to be very happy with the work and the service. They have been very honest about the work that needs to be done and the work that really doesn't. Case in point, the Cadillac started having problems with the water pump as well as several other issues common to a car with 120k on it. Although they could have easily said that X, Y and Z needed to be done and charged for a bunch of repairs, I was told straight up, "if it was my car, I wouldn't put another dime into it." More important, the one time I did have a minor issue after a repair, they quickly addressed the problem -- at no charge. Nobody is perfect but these guys are at least honest which is sadly a rare commodity these days.

I have been dealing with this company for over 3 months now on a service engine soon light. I have taken my vehicle in 8 times now and they still can't fix the problem. They will take my vehicle for a day and give it back to me and within the next 2 or 3 days, the light will come on again. They know what the issue is (a cylinder #1 misfire), but can't fix it. They are so incompetent that they even took my vehicle to the dealer to find out what is going on. Where I was misinformed that they were going to have the dealer fix the issue, they only had the dealer run a diagnostic test to see the problem. IMPORTANT FACT!!!!! Your auto dealer can run a more specific test when you engine light comes on that these quick oil change shops can't. Your best bet is to go to the dealer. Might cost more, but saves you less heart ache and massive headaches/frustration in the end. TRUST ME I KNOW. So I have finally given up on Kwik Kar on Preston and going to take my vehicle to the dealer, who I know will be able to fix it; which is what Kwik Kar should have done a looooooong time ago.

We all know money is tight but good service and customer care is something that you pay for; "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"!! I've gone to countless other CHEAP PLACES, but found myself coming back to this kwik kar to fix the problems the others caused.

My whole family has come to this one for at least 4 years now and all have great service!! I come to this wonderful place and continue to have wonderful service with ALL of the workers there!!

After reading the rude gentleman's review of rude service, I felt compelled to refute. I have been going to this Kwik Kar since it opened and have had nothing but excellent and correct service. I have witness nothing but courteous service, especially to elderly women. They have given service as quick as possible given the demand (I sometimes come in Sat afternoon). Been friendly, honest and even offer a discount on car wash next door. Especially as a woman, I appreciate the good service received.

I have been using Kwik Kar for changing my oil since I bought my car last year. They were so nice and took the time to replace my light buld. Every time I do buisness at Kwik Kar they are all ways nice and do a great job.

I had been to kwik kar at Preston to get help regarding engine light being on in my car. I had the
computer scanner code and other details diagnosed(free) at other place.

The guy at kwik kar right away told that this code doesn't mean much and needs a computer diagnosis
which will cost $89 and that will tell what exactly the problem is. (Problem and suggested soln I
already had with my prior diagnosis) , but i was made to believe that the further diagnosis worth
$89 is required to get more details.

I agreed and they started diagnosis with same scanner and were able to get same engine codes but
they just kept my car for 40-45 min to show that it take that much time and eventually came up with
same codes and resolution which i had with no extra piece of information then what i had.
I called next day to talk to owner Lisle Budden and he started talking nicely for a minute and then

was just not listening to me but kept on talking in rude manner with Bad words and F***
words. And mentioned that he doesnt care and does not want to talk to me further justifying his
charges for $89 which I was just been fooled and given wrong impression of getting detailed
diagnosis information. He said he got his money and he is not going to talk to me anymore and even
told me not come to this shop anymore.

This was my first and last visit to kwik kar. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid them as they
are not to help customers but to make customer spend more money on things which may not be required.

On top of that they behave rude and insult with bad words on hearing customer concerns.
