Message from Knuckles At The Wharf

The former Knuckles has transformed into the chic Knuckles at the Wharf. A restaurant for all tastes, Knuckles at the Wharf is a sports-friendly environment, with plenty of Plasma TV's for sports watching, but the main focus is the convivial, interactive atmosphere as well as the cuisine and special beverage offerings. The three-meal-a-day restaurant is well-suited for those who want to dine in a chic, yet casual dining environment for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as cocktails and evening appetizers. Knuckles at the Wharf also features a new concept in hospitality, namely the new Enoteca Musto, a chic wine lounge in an adjacent, yet private, club-like setting. Enoteca Musto highlights wine from California?s wine country and small plates featuring artisanal cheeses, cured meats and local seasonal products.

The Scene
This sprawling bar-restaurant is much bigger and cleaner than an average sports bar--but it's still okay to throw peanut shells on the floor. Museum-quality, black-and-white sports photos hang on the 30-foot-high walls. A whopping 28 TVs--including five plasmas and a massive 122-inch screen over the bar--are mounted throughout the main room. Past the salad bar, a game room holds pool tables and video games.

The Draw
Due to its location, Knuckles is routinely filled with visitors and families. The main attraction is unmistakable: sports. Groups of locals will show up for the sheer variety of games and number of TVs. The bar houses a kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is friendly and prompt. There aren't many "regulars" here, but the atmosphere is lively.

Key Points

  • Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Plasma TV's for Sports Watching
  • Chic Wine Bar

The Inside Scoop

  1. The Extras - The game room has shuffleboard and foosball tables, in addition to pool and video games.
  2. What to Drink - The bar features one microbrew per month (usually hailing from Northern California) to augment its otherwise mainstream list.
  3. Know Before You Go - Krispy Kreme doughnuts are stocked every morning. A barrel of peanuts sits in the bar for the taking.

not my taste

by Jeannie D. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 127

The only reason I went to the Knuckles Sports Bar was at the insistance of some co-workers who thought it would be a fun place to meet for some drinks. I found it to be overpriced, overcrowded with a crowd that left a lot to be desired.

Sports bar that is part of a hotel chain

by wclast

Based on the lack of service this restaurant must rely on tourists. The service was truly terrible. After sitting at a table for 15 minutes without seeing a waiter I got up and complained to a waiter about the lack of service. He told me that if I didn't like it I could leave. I took his advice, rather than ordering food I had one beer and left to find a real sports bar!

Love the Angus Burger

by hhutcherson

If you are a fan of great burgers, check out the Angus Burger at Knuckles! It was Great! Order along with a draft beer, very satisfactory. With all the televisions in the place you are able to catch all of the playoff action. Checked out the Spurs game the other night! Love the atmosphere and the bartenders.

Warning: Not really a sports bar

by samrado

It hurts to even think of this family restaurant as a "historic sports bar." If you?re a dad looking to take the kids to an overpriced dinner and get away with watching some sports, then this place is for you. Don?t worry, you will fit right in. Also don?t worry about your wife catching you looking at the waitresses, unless of course you are into little Asian ladies in there mid fifties. If you?re looking to watch some sports, have some wings, and get boozed up while a hot little waitress with some double D's exploding out of her shirt serves you beer, then please take my advice and avoid this location.

Awesome Barbeque

by kok59

Have not been there since college football 2004. Went back for Saturday college ball again. They now have a great BBQ menu with smoked meats and fantastic beans.
A must try. My hangout again for the coming season.
Go UC Miami

Pros: BBQ, Service
