We are so lucky we were here!! Serendipty...we loved the privacy, your gardens, your gracious hospitality and the special suite. In fact, we were so happy here we hardly left, except to visit the Bellevue Botanical gardens after luncheon

Stayed using a package that included a night in the "Honeymoon Suite," a bottle of "Vin Rousseaux", and a massage. Added on the country breakfast (30 bucks a head).

The good: quiet grounds, large room, large bath with jacuzzi and large

We stayed with Nancy for a quick weekend and realized we should have made it longer! Her lovely home is so comfortable it almost seems like you're staying with a relative.

From the addictive pastries in the morning to the soft French music playing in our room at the turn down service, we found that we couldn't have asked for more. The beautiful grounds made for the most perfect and romantic setting.

We also took the cooking class and cannot remember having so much fun. We've already duplicated some of the recipes at home and feel so inspired to try out more!

Thank you Nancy! We hope to see you again soon!

What a delightful weekend we just spent at the Auberge! We were in Woodinville to taste wine during their Passport Weekend and to celebrate my husband's birthday. Nancy, the Auberge's owner upgraded us to the Chef's Apartment and provided beautiful desserts each evening as well as a basket of warm homemade pastries to go along with our self-catered breakfasts .
The grounds are beautiful and the location felt secluded yet we were within minutes of Woodinville's many wineries and restaurants. Just a mention of Nancy and the Auberge to our waitress at the Barking Frog prompted a visit by chef Joshua to our table. Such gracious hospitality all weekend-long!
We look forward to returning to participate in the cooking classes and to taste more wine.

Pros: felt like we were staying the weekend with a friend

Cons: only thing missing was a hot tub

On my visit to L`auberge, I was pleasently surprised to have been upgraded to the honeymoon suite without asking. Two shower head shower, jacuzzi tub, with gorgeous garden views. The owner Nancy greeted us with utmost charm and graciousness. This romantic property is one of a kind and absolutely charming. It truly is suitable for all occassions. The main house can easily accommodate events, such as; wine tastings, dinners, weddings, corporate think tank meetings and more. In the upscale hotel business, I am not easily impressed with upscale properties these days. L`auberge Edge Seattle did. I wish I could have stayed another night. My first call when back in Woodinville, will be Nancy at L`auberge.

The little woman and I truly enjoyed our romantic weekend at ?L'Auberge at The Edge of Seattle? in nearby Woodinville, Wa. Proprietress, Nancy Gates, greeted us at the expansive entryway. A charming woman who instantaneously set us at ease and welcomed us into her beautiful home. I was very impressed with the entryway and living room. Decorated with antique slot machines, original art and some of the most beautiful hand-woven Moroccan carpets I have seen. Nancy led us to the ?Honeymoon Suite? just down the heated tile hallway. The King-size bed looks out on the beautiful grounds and patio. The fireplace was ready for us with a supply of kindling and wood. A decanter of homemade wine was on the nightstand. The large spa bath was wonderful and appointed with candles, soaps, shampoo and cream rinses. The walk-in shower had two showerheads and all the hot water needed. We enjoyed magnificent homemade candy and cookies that were on the table in the sitting area before the bed.
Dinner was served in the elegant dining room and was the most formal dinner I have ever been served. Full service fine china, silverware, embroidered tablecloth and individual wine glasses for each wine. Each course from soup, salad, entree and desert was excellent. Nancy was faultless in her preparation and service. We were treated like royalty. Breakfast was served the next morning in our room in the same elegant manner. Fresh fruit, Belgian waffles, juice and coffee.
My wife and I will return to L'Auberge at The Edge of Seattle whenever we need a romantic getaway from the stress of our busy lives.

Since my wife and I had never stayed at a real bed and breakfast before we had no idea what to expect. Our hostess, Nancy Douglas, was very accommodating and helpful even though we had to arrive very late (11:00 pm) she said just to call when we were about an hour out and she would have the room ready for us with the door unlocked and to just check in in the morning. We did not know that the preparing of the room included warm homemade pastries, chilled sparkling wine and a beautifully appointed room. Since we are extremely early risers we did not avail ourselves of the breakfast available but I am sure it was amazing. We came for the French Crab Feast with Chef Adam Hoffman of Rovers Restaurant in Seattle. My wife uses a very apt word for our cooking/dining experience?awesome! The meal was spectacular in itself, but to have been a part of its creation was special indeed. Chef Hoffman allowed us to be as hands on as we wanted and guided us at every turn. We started with some of the most beautiful live locally caught crabs and ended with a meal to rival any restaurant anywhere at any price. Then there was the wine. Each person was asked to bring a bottle of his/her favorite wine (white in this case) to share with our small group, these were very special selections and were greatly enjoyed. All the while our hostess, Nancy, was there to make sure that we had the time of our lives. We plan to make this a favorite place to stay even if there is no class scheduled as the cost of the room is very comparable to that of a Marriott with so much more. If you plan to be in the Seattle area you can do no better than to stay at L?Auberge?.take the cooking class if it is available, you will not be disappointed. Pros: Unexpected amenities, gracious hostess

Cons: We live too far away to stay here every weekend

On Memorial Day Weekend I had the fortune to travel North of Seattle and stay at L'Auberge Edge of Seattle, located at 16400 216 Avenue N.E. Woodinville, Washington 98077, (425) 260-6213, hosted by Nancy Douglas. The property is breathtaking, quiet with mocking birds singing amongst the needled trees.

The rooms/suite was comfortable, relaxing with all the amenities one only hopes to experience. The bed was one of the mos t comfortable with down comforters and pillows. Plush robes for the bath kept one warm and comfortable after a shower with all the small amenities not usually found. Al l French and done in a true style. Ms. Douglas? roots in France is shown throughout the house.

The wine, the coffee, light dinner, fresh warmed baked sweet breads in the morning and the upbeat personality of Ms. Douglas makes one feel as if you are at a home of a friend who enjoys making one fill comfortable.

The experience at L'Auberge Edge of Seattle is not replicated in many inns/hotels that try to create what Ms. Douglas does naturally. It is worth the drive through beautiful country to experience this inn. Thank you Ms. Douglas for your service.

When my girlffriend told me she had booked us a weekend getaway to a B&B in Seattle I was very excited. Upon arrival at "l'auberge", we were greeted with such a warm welcome by the owner Nancy Douglas, She was very hospitable, and tended to our every need. We ate at the Herb Farm our first night, with both negative and positive reviews, the second night we enjoyed a lovely evening with about 5 other couples drinking wine, cooking and eating. The best way to a lot of peoples heart, including mine!! The accomodations were lovely, The scenery was picture perfect, very quiet and serene. The only question we found our selves asking was when are we going to return.

Nancy Douglas, the proprietress was charming, gracious, a giver of great goodies every evening, and gourmet treats for the morning. In addition a chilled bottle of champagne greeted me on arrival. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, well appointed and private. I could not have asked for more. Nancy was warm and friendly yet very respectful of my space. I would return there in a nano-second---in fact plan to return another time.

We a lovely time we had at the L?AUBERGE at The EDGE OF SEATTLE. My sweetheart and I took The Embrace the first morning and danced a ?welcoming? tango on the rear patio. So lovely. Each morning we looked forward to the scrumptious gourmet baked treats that awaited us. Such fun. And in the morning of our last day at L'AUBERGE at The EDGE OF SEATTLE can you imagine this; as we took The Embrace to quietly dance a tango on the rear patio to ?say goodbye? we were greeted by a doe and her yearling tip toeing through the grass... blissfully enjoying themselves.... Perhaps the ideal metaphor for the time we had at L'AUBERGE at The EDGE OF SEATTLE.

L'Auberge is a treasure. The hostess, Nancy, has created an environment that is very romantic and comfortable. Although it is not far from the city -- on the "edge" of Seattle -- the setting is very private and woodsy and has the feel of a French country inn. The decor is beautiful with much attention to detail, and Nancy is a marvelous hostess who makes you feel right at home and to top it off serves delicious homemade meals and goodies. It is a perfect getaway for anyone who wants relaxation, a taste of European hospitality, or some time away from it all with a special someone.

My girlfriend and I recently had the most amazing weekend here. Everything was perfect, from the ambiance of the Honeymoon Suite to the delicious gourmet breakfast served in the morning. We will never forget a single moment of the time we spent there and are looking forward to experiencing more romantic and relaxing weekends. I live in Philadelphia and my girlfriend lives in Seattle, so this was a very special way for us to spend our weekend together. We fell in love with each other all over again and will always remember L'Auberge.

My wife and I recently decided to escape the Arizona summer heat for a few days. We were looking for some place cool, in a natural setting where we could enjoy the outdoors. Of course we wanted to be pampered and on top of everything else, we wanted it all at a reasonable cost. Two days before we were scheduled to go, we still had not found the "ideal" spot, when I saw the website for L'Auberge. The first hint of the wonderful weekend to come was Nancy's cheery voice as she took our reservation. The second was her anouncement that she would have the bubbly on ice for our arrival.
When we arrived just before dusk, we were immediately delighted by the "in the woods" setting, tall pines, backberries and emerald green lawns surrounding a modern home whose dark green roof blended in with the surrounding forest. Nancy made us feel at home without being intrusive. The service was very professional, yet friendly and warm. She introduced us to some new tastes then let us enjoy the modern, well furnished accomodations and each other. There were lots of candles, flowers, books, curtains and mountains of pillows. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi in the large bathroom surrounded with windows curtained up to a discreet height so that we could see the forest during the daylight hours and the moon at night.
It really was a night that my wife and I will remember for a very long time.
If you enjoy nature without "roughing" it, you should experience L'Auberge at least once!

My partner, C, and I have celebrated my Leo birthday for the past several years in the Woodinville wine country, and opted on this occasion for L'Auberge.

We found the web site to be enticing (especially the photos of the Honeymoon Suite!), and, coupled with the fact that our hostess, Nancy, was the sponsor of a cooking school in her domicile, we simply couldn't pass it up. I was reasonably certain that we would be in for a rewarding experience. We arranged in advance to have a light supper, and C also booked a massage.

Everything about L' Auberge exceeded our expectations; upon our arrival (after having taught a 4-day seminar), we found the environs of the Honeymoon Suite, replete with highly individual and elegant touches, to be utterly delightful - it was if we had checked into an intimate French hotel or country inn. The sight of the enormous king-sized bed in a large, tastefully furnished room, flanked by a bathroom truly sybaritic in its appointments - a double-headed shower, 2-person Jacuzzi, complete with French bath products, a plethora of fluffy towels, candles to enkindle that romantic ambience, and a bidet! - was more than welcome, and awakened the inner sensualiste.

Emerging from her massage restored and invigorated, C joined me in our light supper - sorrel soup, tarte l'oignon and tarte flambee, and, for dessert, a wonderful pear tart and a mountain of strawberry shortcake! Magnifique, and accompanied by a chilled Sekt, which went down ever so smoothly as we basked in the late afternoon sunshine.

The rest of our 3-day sojourn was equally memorable (wonderful baked goods, and a complimentary sparkling vintage every evening), so much so, that we returned for another night prior to our return to the East Coast, enjoying a magnificent breakfast on the morning of our departure! ... I cannot recommend L'Auberge too highly. Nancy is a consummate hostess, with a blithe spirit that is infectious ... you will not be disappointed!

Pros: everything

Cons: A slight caveat: for the East Coast traveler, as is the case in most of the Pacific Northwest, no air conditioning; the Honeymoon Suite has a ceiling fan

The accommodations were amazing. The place was romantic and secluded! It was perfect for a much needed romantic weekend. We loved it and guess what? We just found out we are pregnant and we conceived at L'auberge! It was such a wonderful surprise to find chocolates, sweet bread and chilled champagne waiting for us. In the morning breakfast was served by Nancy and was exquisite- it included to die for Fluffy Belgium waffles, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sweet breads and tons more. Nancy went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and the view was perfectly beautiful.

we were looking for a hotel that we could could take a bath together and we found L'Auberge. It is very remote and on beautiful grounds. Also there is no tv or phone or anythng so we were able to concentrate totally on each other. It was just what we needed and we bonded and renewed our love for one another. The fireplace, food, champagne, and tub were phenomenal. We even came away with a wonderful souveneir that will arrive in October. I would go to L'Auberge over and over and Nancy was GREAT!! Thank you

What a pleasent surprise to find L'Auberge at The Edge of Seattle. Relaxation, ambiance, pampered, spoiled, 5 star treatment yet in a casual but sophisticated atmosphere are what I rember about L'Auberge. Gee this B&B Inn was more than I expected. The suite was exquisetly appointed with lovely Louis IV Drexel furniture...I loved and one of a kind antiques...lots of little delailed touches that you don't normally fine. The wood burning fireplace was on and so the champagne was waiting for us in a ice bucket with champagne glasses. Nancy the lady who runs the place is very delailed oriented and wanted everything just perfect for us...and I think it was! Can't wait to come back! So close to Seattle too...Wow, what a fine.

Recently, my love and I visited L'Auberge. Romance alone could have pulled our car up the gravel path. Wed been transported to a finely decorated cottage in the French countryside. The essence dripped with romance like honey from your lovers lips.

Just as Nancy had promised, chilled champagne waited, silhouetted by a glowing fire, specially prepared for us.

Soaking and sipping champagne in the jaccuzi allowed us to talk of more important things that get lost in our busy day. Outside, five deer paid us a visit.

Later, Nancy served us a tasty French dinner. Every bite complimented the next. Fresh whip cream made my loves eyes glitter; my heart could only flutter.

The hand-crafted quilt and fine pillows stared us down and led us into the king-sized bed. Only the winking fire knows what happened next. One thing for sure, like the deer, we will come to visit again.

Recently my wife and I stayed at The Edge of Seattle Getaway - and that's exactly what it was. We got away to a beautifully weekend filled with a combination of country charm, fine food and wine - complimented with our wonderfully private Honeymoon Suite, with all the luxuries expected for our special occassion: fireplace, beautiful view, champagne, king sized bed with fine linen, huge jacuzzi and walk in shower and much more. We're planning on returning soon.

We highly recommend Edge of Seattle Getaway for a romantic and private stay.

Pros: Hospitality, Food, Environment

Cons: None

After we sold our house in Black Diamond, WA we stayed at l'Auberge at the Edge of Seattle for 3 weeks before moving to Rome, Italy. It was quiet and peaceful. Birds enchant you with their songs, deer graze tranquilly in the front yard and flowers paint the garden with their pretty colors. Nancy, the proprietress, was friendly and attentive to our needs. Her gourmet chocolates and homemade wine are out of this world.

Nancy is very honest and a fun person to work with. The room we stayed in had everything we needed down to the chocolates! We stayed for the KWJZ Jazz Festival Weekend and the accomodations met our needs perfectly!
