I was referred to Dr. Allison by a friend of mine for hormone treatment. I did a little research online and saw some of the mixed reviews. Based on the great feedback from my friend I decided to give her a try. To my pleasant surprise the experience was great. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Dr. Allison was attentive and helpful with an abundance of knowledge. I was also please to find out she has a nurse practitioner who does primary care that was recently was added to the practice. After meeting her I decided to switch all of my care to southpoint medicine as a "one stop shop". I will definitely be referring people to their office. I think some of the mixed reviews have come from patients like myself who need hormone treatment and can be irritable and set off by the smallest things. After all there is no way she could be in practice 7 years without doing something right. See you later Dr. Allison and Ms. Tharrington and thanks again!

well, I have to admit that I just don't really have much time in my life to whine, complain or be bothered by impatient or highly opinionated or unyielding kinda folks, but when it comes to docs and medicine and women, I just had to raise

I saw Dr. Allison for the first time in 2005. I initially chose the practice because I wanted a female physician, but ended up returning because Dr. Allison is a very bright diagnostician. I had suffered from dysmenorrhea since puberty and had been constantly misdiagnosed or told that it would go away on its own. Dr. Allison knew that my symptoms didn't sound normal and immediately educated me on endometriosis (diagnosis was later confirmed through laparoscopy).

I love that Dr. Allison has a way of prodding you to be as honest as possible about how you feel so that she can help determine if a medical solution is appropriate. She is a great listener and I feel she treats each patient as an individual rather than a "case." My husband and I appreciated that she listens to our reproductive concerns and keeps that in the forefront of her mind when prescribing treatment.

The office staff is friendly and gregarious. I've never felt uncomfortable telling them why I'm there, and it makes me smile when they remember my name and face from one year to the next.

Dr. Allison only practices gynecology and general medicine so I do not see her for obstetrical care, however do return there when I am not pregnant for yearly check-ins.
