I am getting married next month. Has anyone gotten a dress off those websites such as 58weddingdress. that replicate the designer's dress? Has anyone had a good experience? Bad experience? I do not have the money to buy an expensive dress, but I have my eye on this beautiful gown but it's very pricey. What websites are trustworthy and which ones are not?

Anyone know any good sites to order wedding dress replicas from? I've looked at 58bridesmaid. , but can't figure out if there is a way to look for a specific designer replica on there. Looking for a Maggie Sottero - Jocelyn replica. Thanks!!

I am SO glad I came to Wedding Atelier. I had the best experience working with Jessica. She really listened to what I wanted and found me the most beautiful dress I've ever seen. I feel lucky to have gone through this experience with her I recommend this place to everyone.

This shop was the best of all the places I went to, including Kleinfelds and Mark Ingram. I would say the only other shop that even came close was Amsale.

Wedding Atelier is clean, small and carries a handful of excellent designers. They will work with you to add details or take away details from your dress. I recommend going early in the day- you'll have the whole place to yourself!

I bought my dress at Wedding Atelier from a lovely stylist named Jenna. From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and given slippers. After trying on a couple of dresses, I quickly fell in love with an Alvina Valenta dress. Jenna was very upfront with me about what could and couldn't be done to the dress as far as customizations. She let me and my sisters take some time to sit and think about it and I couldn't have made a better decision. I needed my dress in kind of a rush and they delivered! My dress arrived a few days ahead of time and my seamstress was very accomodating. Jenna was there to help me through the fittings and she was dead on with everything. My dress was perfect on my wedding day. I can't say enough about this place! Wonderful!

I don't know where to begin. Wedding Atelier saved me! I worked with manager Carrie and mai ( the best seamstress ever). I walked in there facing a total dress emergency less than 2 weeks before my wedding. The dress I had orginially ordered at another wedding salon was horrible and in my opinion nothing I could wear. I stumbled upon wedding altelier without an appointment and explained my dress emergency. The staff was beyond helpful and encouraging. I must have tried on 10-15 dresses and found the one! so beautiful. It was strapless but Mai made me the most beautful matching cap sleeve lace jacket that completed the dress. In basically 1 week and 1 day I walked out of there with my perfect dress thanks to the wonderful women who are at this salon. Carried promised me the quick turnaround and she delivered right on time and everything was just PERFECT. This store changed my whole emotional state leading up to my wedding. They are the best and I loved my dress and received soooo many complements on it at my wedding. Unbelievable customer service and Carrie has an unbelievable sense for style and what does/doesn't work for everyone. the best. words truly cannot describe how wonderful this place is and how much they helped me. THE BEST!!!! go here for your dress!!!!

I found it in the internet and I wish I had read some reviews before. I have the worst shopping experience ever, even if it was probably the most important dress of my life. Where do I start? By saying that on my first appointment a girl was crying in her wedding gown, and they didn??t seem to be able to calm her down. That should have been a BIG SIGN FOR ME TO RUN AWAY but unfortunately I bought my dress there to a very nice saleswoman called Andrea. Andrea was not there for my second appointment or ever after--she was fired. And I didnt find anyone nicer after that. My dress arrived in time, but since the sample was so old, the fabric on the new one had a different texture and color, and a HUGE SEAM from the underskirt was showing. It was a big problem, which I marked to May--a very smiley but completely clueless seamstress-- and disgusting Carrie/Julie...manager and sales woman respectively. They told me they could take care of it by ironing it (yeah sure) or adding a piece of fabric (literally a 30 cm under skirt, which made 3 seams to show instead of 1). All through my fittings it became evident that they couldn??t fix it, and then it was when they started saying that it wasn??t their fault, it was the designer's (Cymbeline) and that they couldn??t do anything about it. May was also inept in pulling up the train, so I ended having to cut my train, which I later regretted. To make a long story short: I almost bought a new dress, but in the end I took it to an expert seamstress who actually had to build a new skirt to solve the problem. I threw away the 500 dollars they charged for alterations and had to pay on top of that. Furthermore, I can not explain the level of anguish I went through because of this crappie place. Lesson learned: don??t go here, ever. And if you buy a dress it is better to deal with the designer directly than with intermediaries as this place is

After going into Pronovias and being completely dissatisfied with anything coupled with the" we don't do alterations, we don't do extra beading" line... i proceeded to WA with little faith...

As was ABSOLUTELY SURPRISED.. My wedding is in April 09 and was in the store in Sept. i was attended to by a FANTASTIC lady called JESSICA who makes every bride feel wonderful...

I completely explained my concept to her and the limitations that we were faced with being i was flying in from Nigeria, Africa and would only be making 1 more trip to NY for my fitting so i needed everything done as quickly as possible..

I found a gress that was OK... but by the time Jessica was done with it, it was my DREAM DRESS... She completely knows her stuff so she gets you very quickly and is quick to go and bring samples very similar to what you are talking about.. I ended up picking my dress on the first day of looking... That left me with plenty of time for my shoes and evrything else..

Jessica proceeded to email me every few weeks keeping me updated on the progress of my veil, headpiece, dress and evrything else..

Getting to NY in Feb and having literally 36hrs for my fitting, they were wonderful.. I got in bright and early and everything was out waiting for me.. All the alterations that could be done without me were done and all i had to do was fit my dress... They were very accomodating as i went in for a 10am appt, went back for a 6pm final fit and picked up the next day at 12pm...

Wedding Atelier are completely worth every extra cents u pay...

I would recomend tham to my friends and family...

This is a great place to start out your dress search. They have lots of styles and designers, and prices ranging from $450-$10,000! (the under $1000 are mainly samples and promos, fyi). Debra, my attendant, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all, I found my perfect dress here!

I had a great experience at Wedding Atelier. From the first time I entered the shop until I picked up my gown it was a most pleasurable event. Firstly, the shop is beautiful- neat, clean, organized, relaxed. They make you take off your shoes so the floor stays clean to help keep the dress samples in good condition. The owner, Carrie, and her staff are so helpful, knowledgable, and easy to work with. They were all accomodating as far as setting up appointments, looking at and trying on gowns and veils, and taking care with fittings to make sure the dress looked its best. The dress selection is top-notch and you will find gowns that you will not see anywhere else in the city! When we realized there was a slight problem with my dress Carrie was very quick to rectify the situation and went above and beyond to make it right. I can not say enough good things about Wedding Atelier and would recommend everyone to buy their wedding gown here.

I recently visited Wedding Atelier at the referral of a friend. My wedding is towards the end of 2009. I am really not ready to purchase but was highly encouraged to make an appointment to start my gown search. I had already visited Kleinfeld and Saks. Tyhe experiences there were neddless to say, lackluster. And I really felt that every appointment I would have thereafter would be the same. I didn't realize that this should actually be a fun experience.
From the moment I stepped through the door to leaving, I felt like I was the center of attention for once. I was greated by the manager who offered me slippers to myself and my mom. I was confused what this was for and then she explained that they care for their dresses so much that they keep them clean by asking people to remove their shoes. Being in spa slippers, already put me inn a relaxing mood! I was then introduced to my stylist who was Grace. I explained to her my style and concern that this was really still the early part of my plannig. I was never once told that I had to buy that day or I needed to hurry up and order. Kleinfeld makes it a point for you to know this! I selected some lovely gowns with my mom. I am planning on going back in Januaary. I have since then, visited 3 other salons. And no one absolutely no one has matched the lovely feeling and pampering I received at wedding atelier. I would highly reccommend this salon to anyone starting the ir wedding gown search that favors personal and intimate service in a calming salon free of pressure.

I had an appointment at Wedding Atelier on a Saturday and of course it's the day that brides bring their entourage with them! I had 5 people with me (My mom of course, 2 bridesmaids,my aunt, and a coworker). I expected that we would be asked to make room for other people that might have less people with them. But that never happened. We were shown a fitting room that had wall to wall mirrors. And a lovely chaise for my guests to sit on. I think I had the last appointment of the day , because the store was emptying out. But our consultant was full of energy and gave us the same service as if we were the first appointment! My family was offered water as a refreshment while they waited as I browsed the gowns with my sales assistant. When we came back to the room I had about 7 gowns to try on. All the gowns were lovely and my heart started to melt as I saw the gown I tried on that caught my eye when I first walked in and it was on a mannequin. My mom started to cry and my bridesmaids were speechless! I chose an Alvina Valenta gown with lace all on the satin gown, It was a 2009 style. Needless to say a sale had been made! My sales specialist then helped me pick out a matching veil and jewelery.By this time, it was already 30 minutes past their closing time. AND WE WERE NOT RUSHED LIKE AT KLEINFELD!
Before we left I my sales girl hugged me and thanked me for allowing her to partake in this experience. I should be thanking her!!! The sales people and managing staff really care about their brides! I would recommend this salon to every bride. From the moment I made my appointment to my dress decision, I felt pampered and listened to. THIS SALON MIGHT BE SMALLER THAN KLEINFELD, BUT THE SERVICE SPEAKS VOLUMES!!!THANK YOU WEDDING ATELIER FOR HELPING ME FIND MY DREAM DRESS!!!

I had a horrible time at Wedding Atelier. My consultant did NOT listen at all. I said that A line was my best fit (after trying on several gowns at other salong previously) - she suggested I look around. About 10 minutes later, I had a few dresses and she suggested a few that were not a-lne and looked horrible on me. The dressing rooms were uncomfortably hot. When I say a dress on another bride to be that I liked, I asked if I could try it. She said no because the other bride would be in the dress for awhile (total lie). I can't convey how HORRIBLE the service is here. Not a fun experience at all. Go to Mark Ingram or Kleinfelds for much better service (and selection for that matter).

Had a wonderful time choosing dresses at Wedding Atelier. Andrea could not have been more friendly or calming during my first dress appointment. She only showed me dresses in my price point to make sure I didn't fall in love with anything I couldn't afford and totally got the vision I was looking for. I HIGHLY recommend meeting with her if you make an appointment.

I recently visited Wedding Atelier in search of a bridal gown. My friends had reccommended this location because of it's no pressure attitude. I was not planning to buy my wedding dress on this trip, but I was blown away by the selection of beautiful gowns and impeccable service from my consultant Debra. She made the entire experience stress free and special. She was AMAZING!!!! Any bride would be lucky to work with her. My family and friends felt right at home shopping with me. I left with the most breathtaking dress and a huge smile on my face.

Does anyone know whats going on in this place?! My dress came in late and fitting it was a nightmare..The fitter didnt speak english and i was left alone without getting any guidance from any of the people there. I had to cancel my flights in order for the dress to be finished even after I made special arrangements with my salesperson to pick up my dress on specific dates. Finally the owner came to translate for the fitter, yet they still were having trouble and no one paid any attention to what it was i wanted done to the dress! The owner Carrie was insulting and rude to me and my friends when we showed our frustration that no one knew where my shoes were and that my veil hadnt come in yet after being promised that it would be there for my fitting. After we left I broke down because that was not the experience that I hoped to have for my wedding. And when I went to pick up my dress I was forced to pay for the alterations even after all I went through. I would never recommend them to anyone I know.

Wedding Atelier was by far my best experience in the seach for a wedding gown. It's a beautiful shop with a good gown selection and huge fitting rooms. Most importantly the staff was fantastic. Specifically, my consultant was Debra. She was sweet, knowledgable, helpful and not the least bit pushy. I've been to other shops where I felt like I was a burden on the employees. This time I felt like I was shopping with a friend. This is a very nice shop without being snobby. I highly recommend checking it out.

I went to Wedding Atelier with my co-worker that's getting a month after me. I unfortunately got my dress from Pronovias. For one Pronovias will tell you that the alterations are free and you think that you are getting a good deal. Then I found out that they already include a set fee within the ticket price of the gown! They outright lie to you to get your money! At Wedding Atelier, the price is signifigantly lower and not only that their alterations along with the gown still are cheaper than pronovias store. My friend is going back next week to purchase her dress. I wish I had gone here first. We were early for our appointment and were still allowed to look through the dresses. At pronovias you can't even touch the dresses! You stay locked in your fitting room! And we were asked to wipe our hands with wipes. This is obviously a couture place as they care for their merchandise so much to keep them clean for brides that might have to purchase off the samples. When our stylist was ready for us, we were shown to the most amazing fitting room. I couldn't belive that this entire room was for her. There were so many mirrors! We tried only a couple since my friend wants theat Cinderella look and they were all similar. When our appointment was over we were given a card and my friend said she'd come back next week to purchase. And I can honeslty say that she wasn't pushed, pressured or looked at for not purchasing on the frist appointment. The sales person was jst as nice as if she was gonna buy. So ladies, check out this lovely boutique and get personal service that makes you feel like the only bride in the store :)

Pros: Intimate Ambiance, warm staff, great prices, gorgeous gowns

Cons: none :)

I would not recommend this place to anybody!!! The service was terrible, and caused me enormous amounts of stress, because I thought the dress would never fit, and I had to make several unplanned trips from Washington DC to NY for the sole purpose of getting the dress altered.

Long story short, the seamstress Vivian was abrupt, and had no patience with customers. During my alterations process, my salesperson, Mona, and VIvian were fired, and I was never informed until I showed up for a fitting, where my dress wasn't even at the salon. I had traveled from DC to NY expressly for this appointment and was told that they didn't realize I was the one who was coming, and my dress had been sent to the cleaner. My final appointment was 3 days before my wedding (when I was supposed to be picking up the final finished dress) (also note: I purchased the dress 16 months in advance, and had made already made 5 separate visits to the salon), and instead I had to wait 2 - 2 1/2 hours for the seamstress to make additional alterations. For my last 2 visits, Carrie, the owner, who assured me that the dress would be fitted and done in time, was no where to be found.

Overall I was extremely disappointed with their lack of service and lack of responsibility for all the problems they caused. Instead of 2-3 fitting appointments, I made 5-6 trips from DC to NY for the express purpose of getting my dress altered. In the end, the dress did fit, but there were still minor wrinkles and puckering that we couldn't get rid of. For the amount of money we spent on the dress, alterations, and veil, we expected much better service.

I do all my searches on citysearch all the time for restaurants, events and everything else. In fact, I found Wedding Ateliers from citysearch!! I went to a few places in the city with my friends, Priscilla of Boston, Kleinfelds, and Bridal Reflections before we came to Wedding Atelier and the experience I had at Wedding Atelier was great!! I worked with Carrie, the owner of the store and Xiulian, the seamstress after I found out the sales lady I worked with previously has left when I went back to the store for my first fitting. I cannot tell you how great and helpful both Carrie and Xiulian were. The dress I bought requires a lot of work since it has six layers of laces?and Carrie really took her time to go through all the detailed alternation works with Xiulian to make sure the dress would fit me perfectly. When I told them that I would like to try the dress on again to make sure it really fits when I came in to pick up my dress, they had no problem of letting me try it on even though the dress was already wrapped and packed nicely in a garment bag. They even offered to take the dress back and do some finishing touch for the back of my dress after I pointed out to them that the back part of the laces were sticking out a bit too much. When I realized that the color of the veil I bought from somewhere else didn't match my dress during my final fitting, Carrie offered to make a brand new veil by using the same laces that my dress has for me and Xiulain was able to finish it in less a week (Normally it takes 3-4 weeks to order a customize veil). Overall, the experience I had at Wedding Atelier was amazing and the service was more than what I could ask for!!! I can't wait to wear the gown on my wedding day!! Thanks Carrie and Xiulian for making my gown shopping just a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend everyone go to Wedding Atelier for their gown shopping.

i am only giving this place 5 starts because of Debra who helped me. It was friday night that i made an appointment and wanted to come in Saturday the next morning because they were having a sample sale. The dress i've always wanted happened to be 40% off. I was going bananas trying to get in this place. well, it was definately a challenge because no one answered the phone, you would get a machine or someone was too busy to help you and you would get scolded because I didnt book a week in advance. Finally a wonderful woman named Debra, who has the most pleasant voice, called me and told me afternoon appointment canceled and wanted to know if I would like to come by. I rushed over there and she was AMAZING. I'm from California and i didnt have my mom or my friends to be there with me and she made me feel comfortable and told me she was her friend for the day. She's soooo super sweet. Unfortunately the dress i wanted, sold out but she listened to what kind of style I wanted and the first dress that she happened to pull out, was the first dress i tried on and walked out with. She's not pushy or horrible to get a sale, she's reallly sweet, understanding and SHE'S ALSO GETTING MARRIED HERSELF so she UNDERSTANDS what a bride has to go through. She was absolutely a dream to work with and i couldnt have asked for a better experience in getting my wedding gown. DEBRA ROCKS!!!!!

I am not sure what I fell in love with first, their chic modern interior design, friendly down to earth service or the fact that Wedding Atelier offered the latest style of gowns from international designers and also american designers. While I was on my rounds of visiting several of the "hot spot" bridal salons, on my list was "Wedding Atelier" on 5th Ave and 17th St. After visiting Kleinfeld's and Vera Wang, I was thrilled to be in a chic, mondern, and sleek environment that kept their gowns very clean. I also felt that it was a breath of fresh air to finaly be in a bridal salon where I was not overwhelmed and slighted by snobery. I felt that the experience was more then I could have imagined. It was a dream, to be honest. They ask you to take their shoes off and I thought that was brilliant. Part of their philosphy is to maintain a fresh look in their salon, and with the NYC grime naturally embedded in your shoes, the idea of taking your shoes off is just an example of how client centered Wedding Atelier is. They think of the client first. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. FIVE STARS!!!

The look of Wedding Atelier is serene, but after my visit there I felt anything but! Although I had an appointment, they were running so late we weren't helped for over 20 minutes. Once I had a saleswoman to speak to, I asked for something not over the top, not giant on the bottom, and not skin-tight. To say that these were the only things offered to me to try on is an understatement. Maybe this place is a good one for women who want flashy, poofy, designer gowns, but I'd skip it if that's not what you're in the market for.

HORRIBLE experience, and unfortunately my first to find a wedding gown. Made the appointment weeks in advance, arrived on time with my mom and were ignored for close to an hour while the sales associate who was supposed to help us was doing an invoice for another client. There was no explanation or apology for this unacceptable wait. Her clueless assistant told us to start browsing on our own, but we found the dress selection in view to be in poor condition, not impressive. Needless to say we left before trying anything on.

I don't usually review things, but the experience at this store inspired me to tell other brides to save their time and energy and shop here first... and last. Katy is great to work with if you can get an appointment with her, but the whole store is very friendly and professional, and genuinely seem to care about me. The selection was so great and refreshing, and the samples and whole store are keep immaculate. I highly recommend Wedding Atelier to get your wedding gown.

I started by making an appointment and told them I would have 5 of my ladies with me. Upon entering we were ignored. I was supposed to be working with Elizabeth, but was told I'd be working with Carrie. I was told that none of my party could come into the dressing room b/c it was too small. Yet, the other bride in the had her mother come in and sit in the area. The curtain was left open more than once when I was in my underwear and I had to keep shutting it. I told Carrie what type of dress I would like. When she brought them out, they were atrociously ugly and the antithesis of anything that I wanted. When I told her the dresses were too "cupcake" and frilly and I'm getting married on the beach, she suggested that I could "chop off" the whole back of the dress. (??) She shoved me into it (roughly) and dragged me out into the middle of the store. The material was so rough and uncomfortable I started to break out in a rash!! Finally, after countless dresses that were HORRIBLE, I asked her to please help my girls find bridesmaid dresses. We should have just left then. She completely ignored the girls and started attending to the bride in the next curtain (who was already being helped by someone else). We were pretty much ignored from that point on. As my gals were looking at dresses, I heard the other woman (Elizabeth) make a comment that those girls are "fooling around" and that the other bride should go to another area of the store to look in the mirror. That's when we decided to leave. When we told them why we were leaving, they were "shocked" and Elizabeth denied making any such comments because it was something that she "would never do" -- even though 3 of us heard her. It was the most horrible wedding experience I have ever had and I hope never to repeat. Honestly, if you want a dress that is around the same price as what they have and have it made specifically for you, go to Birnbaum & Bullock. The experiences don't even compare.

From the moment I walked in with my bridesmaids, we were unimpressed. First, they got the appointment wrong and told me I was late (I was perfectly on time, they need a better receptionist). When I asked if someone would be available to help us, they claimed that there was. But we were left on our own to look through about 20 bridesmaid gowns... no selection whatsoever. No one helped us in the dressing area. No one even acknowledged us as we left the shop. Terrible service. Don't go there.

This place was horribly rude to me. They screwed up my appointment time and then refused to let another salesperson help me, after I had traveled many hours for this appointment. They acted as if my time was not important and they were obviously incredibly inconsiderate.

I had a great time at the wedding atelier. The person I met with, Carrie Hung, was extremely sweet and had the patience of a saint! I didnt know what I was looking for and it was my first time shopping. Because I'm not a sample size, I felt discouraged to go try on wedding gowns, but Carrie made me feel at ease and they even had samples that were in my size. Carrie found me a dress I fell in love with and when it was time to leave the salon, I was really feeling great. I bought a sample gown since it fit me great, and the price was great, and it was also like brand new. I had a wonderful time there, everyone was really positive and really easy going. I would recommend them to everyone needing a dress in NY!

I dont know how else to describe the experience I had at the Wedding Atelier. From the moment we walked into the showroom, we were treated with great care and delight. The lady that welcomed my mother and I, asked us to take off our shoes and handed us spa-like slippers so that we can walk through the showroom freely. At first it seemed a bit odd but once she explained that the purpose was to keep any dirt from the outside from getting in so that the gowns stay clean and beautiful, we respected and loved the idea!! The showroom was immaculate and so were the gowns. When I went to Kleinfelds, their gowns were dirty and discolored and I was even disgusted to put them on my body. My mom and I were seated in a beautiful dressing room& was greeted by a woman named Mona who really knew her stuff! She asked me questions about the setting of my wedding, the number of guests & the formality so that she can visualize with me my wedding day inorder to find me THEGOWN. She listened carefully to what I thought I wanted and never tried to push her own opinion on me as other places I've went to had done. Every gown was below what I was ready to spend which made me feel comfortable with her. She picked out 5 gowns!!thats it!! I loved every one of them! but the first one i put on was the one! I fell in love with it and I knew that was going to be my wedding gown. The gown was from spain and was a thousand dollars less than our budget. Another woman named Sana showed me bridesmaids dresses and colors for almost another hour. She was a great help and I know that I'll be ordering my 6 bridesmaids dresses there too! We were having such a great time that my mom and I lost track of time and missed our dinner reservations! I would recommend wedding atelier to everyone that wants to experience the best gown shopping ever! GO THERE!

The Wedding Atelier was the last of the many bridal salons I went to and all I can say is that I wished I had come here from the start.

They are amazing! Wonderful costomer service and a wide, wide selection of gowns. I knew exactly what I was looking for and everyone of the dresses that was brought to me fit that description. The service was not pushy and I took a while in finding a dress which was no problem at all. The whole staff was fantastic in accomodating my needs.

If you are planning a wedding in under 6 months i would NOT recommend going to wedding atelier. My fiance and I decided to have a short engagement (3 months). Since I read on te website that Wedding Atelier can get dresses in rushed if need be I went by. The first time I went the servie was great, Mona was attentive, etc... I bought my dress and veil that day and paid the whole ting in full. Mona said she would put a "rush on the dress and it would be in by September 1st. I bought it on July 10th. This would give me just a month to do my fittings before leaving.

September 1st past... no call. The 10th past and still no call. I called them repeatedly myelf in wondering where my dress was and everytime I was told that I would be called back with the status. I have NEVER received a call back. I scheduled 2 different fittings that the day of they called me to cancel because the dress wasn't in!

Finally the dress arrived September 18th.. 12 days before I leave for my wedding! I went in for a fitting and Vivienne (the woman who dies the alterations) is fantactic! If you can work just with her I would recommend it. Anyway- I saw Mona during all my fittings and she never acknowledged let alone apologized for the fact that no one ever called me to let me know my dress hadn't arrived on time. They were not at all flexible with the fitting times and both Mona and Carrie (the owners) were hostile and dismissive.

During my last fitting I was looking at a veil that was lying on te counter which I realized was the veil I bought. The price tag on it read $850. Mona charged me $1050!! When I presented her with my reciept and their veil with the price of $850 on it, she sinple cut the price tag off and said that it was priced wrong. No apology. No reimbursement. Noting. They had my money- why bother being nice now??

We planned the entire wedding it Italy and the worst service we received was wedding atelier.

I woudln't recomend that kind of stress on any bride!

I have nothing but accolades for Wedding Atelier. After visiting several other New York bridal stores and boutiques, I determined what I wanted and didn't want from where I would buy my wedding dress. I wanted a place that had fantastic service, treated me like a valued customer and bride (definitely didn't feel this at Kleinfeld's), and had a lot of selection without seriously breaking the bank (unlike Sak's). Wedding Atelier had the perfect combination of all those things. I found that the selection was great but not overwhelming. They have beautiful accessories from veils to jewelry. The service is just outstanding. I went back 3 times for my dress fittings and they made sure I was completely happy with how the dress fit. The compliments I received on my wedding day was insane -- it was definitely much more than the obligatory "you're a beautiful bride" remarks. I am so happy with going to Wedding Atelier for my wedding dress!!

I had such a wonderful experience at Wedding Atelier. I had been to three other bridal shops in the city and felt very overwhelmed and that I was just another bride - a number, if you will. From the minute I walked into Wedding Atelier, I felt special. Mona helped me - she listened to me, found out what I liked and was extremely patient with me. I was the last appointment of the day and stayed well past the closing time. Mona never brought up the time; she made sure I didn't feel rushed. And after trying on over 50 dresses at four places, I found my dress!!! THANK YOU, MONA!! Thank you for being so wonderful and finding the perfect dress for me!

I read reviews on citysearch ALL the time (for food, shopping, bars..), but this is the first time I felt compelled to share my experience. I had heard friends talk about awful experiences wedding dress shopping. I was a little nervous to start the process since many had dealt with rude salespeople and many ended up spending way above budget. When my friends and I went to Wedding Atelier we were all very shocked. Mona was so helpful! Right from the start she talked to me about what I like, what my wedding would be like, and even about my budget. She was so helpful at finding exactly what was right for my body type and was also in my price range. WE LOVED HER! She was not pushy at all and even offered to come back on a Sunday night after the store was closed so I could show my mom the dress when they are in town! I highly recommend going and asking for Mona.

Wedding Atelier was the best place I have been in the city. Very personal attention, no rushing, and wonderful selection. Every dress the stylist chose was in my price range and perfect for me and I couldn't have been happier with the experience as a whole. I highly recommend this location for a relaxing, personal, and successful experience.

So I wanted to pass on my dress shopping experience. I made three appointments at different places in the city: Wedding Atelier, Adrienne's and Kleinfelds. A week before the Kleinfeld's appointment, I cancelled because I heard/read some negative things about the store and didn't want to work in such a big store where the service could be potentially miserable. However, I have heard a few success stories from Kleinfeld's (One girl in my office got her dress there and she loved it), but I just had a bad feeling about it. My first appt was at Wedding Atelier. Let me tell you what a wonderful experience I had. First off, the place is very clean (and I'm a clean freak). You have to take your shoes off right when you walk in. All of the staff were very professional and friendly. I worked with Carrie Hung, the owner. She was great!! We took our time. She listened to what I wanted and brought me the dresses I was looking for. I tried on three or four dresses and found the dress of my dreams. I believe it was the second dress I tried on and I just knew. They were having a trunk show that day and the representative from the designer was there, and he was extremely nice and helpful too! Overall, such a wonderful experience, and I feel confident that my dress will come in and the alterations will be professionally done. I would recommend going there if you are going to be shopping in NYC, and see if you can get an appt with Carrie.
We actually went to our second appt at Adrienne's and it was so bad. The floor samples were black on the bottom from dragging on the floor and the selection left you wanting. We were there for maybe 15 minutes before I went back to WA and put a deposit down on the dress. It was just gross.
Carrie must have hugged my mom and I ten times, even the guy from the designer gave me a hug. There were just so nice. Such an amazing experience!!! Can't wait to try my dress on again!

I am surprised the rating is only a 9.0 as the other raters seemed to really love the place, as do I. Places like Kleinfelds and David's Bridal are just these off-the-rack warehouses where you get okay quality and service as a trade off for affordable prices. (I'm not knocking them by the way as I went to all these places and ended up getting my bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal.) But why do that when a truly lovely place like Wedding Atelier offers couture wedding dresses starting at $1,000 (at least when I was there). The space is brand spankin' new and beautiful with a huge dressing room. They are by appointment only so you are not fighting crowds of other "bridezillas." Fabulous personal attention and service without being pushy. It is owned by a real person so you have someone who is accountable should you have any problems and not just some corporate headquarters. Finally their dresses are gorgeous. Great selection and not just generic stuff. (I fell in love with a Pronovias dress (European label) that no one else seemed to carry.) And their dresses don't look dirty and haven't been worn by thousands of other shoppers. If you think you can't afford a couture dress/boutique experience, you can always get great discounts with one of their sample sales or trunk shows.

Cons: Appointment only may intimidate some people

I'm a New Yorker who moved to LA for business. My husband and I decided to get married in NYC to make it easier on friends and family to attend our nuptials. My mom had seen the Wedding Atelier advertised in NY Magazine and we made an appointment during one of my many trips back for wedding planning. From the moment we stepped inside we were treated to the best service, the staff was ultra sweet, and I found the Alvina Valenta dress of my dreams. Vivian was my contact and took care of me every step of the way. I flew in for 3 dress fittings the summer before our September wedding and she was always there with a smile, hug and words of encouragement for my big day. On my last fitting, 3 days before my wedding, my dress was still too big (I had become a work-out fanatic). "No problem, we'll take it in overnight" was Vivian's answer. I came back the next day and it was still not perfect, there was a tiny bit more to take in. Again, they fixed it overnight, cleaned and pressed it. I picked it up the morning of my wedding and when I finally put it on, it was perfect. They were extremely understanding of my cross-country circumstances and made ever effort to be accommodating to my schedule. I was so satisfied that I have sent 2 friends to the Wedding Atelier who recently got engaged and they both bought dresses from Vivian on the spot. Needless to say, if you shop here, you will find the dress and service of your dreams.

Cons: None I can think of!

After a trip to Kleinfeld's and getting shuffled around like cattle, calling boutiques, changing in and out of dresses, I was soo happy to have found Wedding Atelier. I was getting disenchanted that $3000 could only buy a polyester dress and crappy service, but at Wedding Atelier, they were very nice and did not show obvious disdain at my preferred price. The store owner/manager (whose name I do not know) was very nice, and your appointment is very personal, intimate, and relaxed. I ended up buying a sample dress, and even though I am quite snobby about these things, I felt it was a great deal and a good dress because they keep the store immaculately clean. Alterations and cleaning are expensive, but done by professionals they keep on staff, and they let you know the price up front. All in all, I am very happy with Wedding Atelier. I highly recommend them since I found the wedding dress 'process' stressful, and they made it a much nicer experience! (I'm so glad it's done with!) P.S. - I also saw another girl trying on dresses at Kleinfeld's and saw her again at Wedding Atelier-- and she bought her dress there too!

I agree Lydia is amazing. I didn't buy my dress there and now I really regret it. The salon I bought my dress has done things that I can just not imagine ever happening here.

For a wonderful experience finding a perfect dress at a price that won't bring tears to your eyes, I highly recommend seeing Lidia at the Wedding Atelier. She's sweet and honest and not pushy.
