On Friday, Nov. 23, my wife loaned me her card and asked that I take care of some shopping since this was 'Black Friday". I went to my local branch in Flemington NJ to withdraw cash from the ATM so I can make the needed purchases. On three attempts, the ATM indicated that "It could not process my request at this time". As I was driving away, I noticed that the receipts had actually deducted money from my account but gave no cash. The machines were empty. I then went into the branch to advise them of this issue. I spoke with the teller and advised her of the situation. I also presented the receipts. She informed me that the deduction would be corrected at the end of the day. She then asked me for the card which I presented. At that time, she told me that since this was my wife's account and not mine, that she would no longer discuss this matter with me and would not return my card! I explained to her that my wife loaned me the card so I could do some shopping for her. She would still not return my card. I even went as far as getting my wife on the cell phone to give any information that would be necessary to clear this issue. This was not accepted by either the teller nor the assistant mgr. Both ignored my request for the card and would not even speak to my wife on the phone. I was made to feel like a thief, that I stole said card! My wife and I have been married for over 17 years and have several accounts at the bank. Both of your employees were arrogant and unprofessional and obviously very anti male and sexist.! Cathy obviously knew my wife's name was on the card after I presented the receipts. She was very devious in then asking for the card so she could confiscate it. If she really thought I stole the card, then she should of called the police. Not embarrass me and make me feel like some kind of creep and criminal! Looking back on this, I regret that I did not call the police and charge theft. If I had been an illegal immigrant with no drivers license, your bank would bend over backwards to issue me a credit card. Yet you treat an American Citizen and long term customer this way! Seems very racist and Anti-American to me.
