Recently I went to Green Tea Spa for the first time after reading so many good reviews I decided to visit this place and have a massage and facial, what I found was amazing and loved it! Masseuse was really trained to help me get rid of my aches and knots. I had nothing but a very good experience. This is a really cool and a fantastic place. I would not hesitate to recommend it to all my friends and family. I left very satisfied. I look forward to visiting this place over and over again whenever I get chance. Try it for yourself you won?t be disappointed. I must say I loved my experience at Green Tea Spa.

Beware of the bathroom

by Amy W

OK, i am not a massage snob, i don't need to be in a fancy place to enjoy a massage - but this place shocked me into writing a review.

I decided to give it a try because of all the stars it got on web reviews, and the prices aren't too bad. When i got there and saw the sign and entrance, i felt a little less relaxed, but hey, one should not judge a book by its cover, so i went through with it and went in. The place looks nothing like the pictures you see here, but to their credit, the sectioned off massage areas (divided by curtains) look tidy and clean enough - definitely no frill - but not scary either.

The massage itself was ok, not great, but definitely not bad. The gentleman who did my massage was professional and kept asking if it was ok (though i was a bit surprised that it was a "he" and not a "she" - i am so used to getting a "she" - but that's ok, i don't really have a problem with it). I chose a combo of 1 hr body and 30 min foot, but got about 10 mins of foot and i guess 80 mins or so of body (a bit disappointed if you are looking forward to a full 30 min of foot).

Anyway, here's the mood killer: afterward, i went to the bathroom to wash up. BIGGEST mistake ever. Bathrooms in McDonalds seems like a treat comparing to this one. It was tight - i can barely turn around and i am considered a relatively thin person (I wear a size 6). On top of that, the wooden door doesn't have a handle, you have to stick your fingers through a HOLE (which used to house a doorknob it looks like) in order to pull/slide it close. The counter where the sink resides is not "done" - you see tile cracks and rust stains, etc. The bathroom itself may not be dirty, but it certainly gives off a very dirty feeling - and any relaxation you might have gotten during the massage just gone POOF! once inside this bathroom. I am hoping the owner(s) read this review and fix this so future customers won't be so disappointed and grossed out after their massage. If i have seen the bathroom before getting the massage, i might have just walked out.

Pros: price

Cons: bathroom

A hole in the wall....but GREAT massages

by LPNY

I've been to Green Tea twice because of neck and back pain. I've gone directly after work, and never had to wait. While the place is extremely small, it's clean and their massages are fabulous. I get massages only when I'm in back pain, and both times after the massages, I am so relaxed and ready for a long nap. Very nice people, and how many places can you find an hour massage for $48 bucks!!!

Pros: Price, friendly atmosphere, clean,

Cons: very small, a little noisy

With the Help of City Search

by HIANIE

I always make my shopping and marketing decision with the help of net and most of the time I rely on City Search Guide where the user?s reviews are so help full.
Other day, I was not feeling alright, bit tired and my sinus(nasal congestion) were killing me especially my forehead, around my nose and around my eye circles constant pain was bothering me a lot. So I decided to have Massage and Facial to get some relief from this pain, with the City Search listing Guide and public reviews help I end up at Green Tea Spa for Facial and Massage. Another attraction was pretty reasonable Prices too.
When I got there I met with a certified Thai Yoga Massage specialist. I discussed with her my situation and I explained to her what I am looking for, I also told her I have off and on sinus problem and I practice yoga but many days I haven?t practice because of some personal issues . She suggested instead of regular massage and regular facial I should have Thai Yoga Massage and Hot Stone Facial. This gonna help you to relieve some sinus pressure as well.
As session begin I kept asking question about Thai Yoga Massage and Hot Stone and I realized my therapist was so knowledge full about her profession I was highly admired by this lady?s skill and techniques.
Her Job and professional know how was amazing and I learned a lot in this session. As we were done with the Hot stone facial I was amazed that my face had buttery touch and my forehead and eye circles which are always bit swollen because of sinus were pain free and I felt like a totally new person. This Ninety Minutes session flown by in a blink of an eye. I wish I could afford my time. I also found out only few places offer real Thai Yoga Massage and Green Tea is one of them, I believe the BEST ONE.

Pros: One of the Best Place for Thai Yoga Massage.

Cons: A bit hard to find parking.

I always recommend this place to all my family and friends.

Like light touches? Don't mind noise? Give this place a try

by floppylo

* Noise: HIGH, ranging from Green Tea workers, to people who walk pass the place on the street, to the people who live upstairs stomping the floor
* Clearness: Clean, but not clean or tidy enough.
* Massage: OK, I would not go back. I get massages on a regular basis. I like deep tissue massages and good reflexology. I don't think my masseuse knew reflexology at all. THE BEST PART IS... about 10 minutes before my session was over, my masseuse went on to work on an other customer because they are running short on staff. The casher finished it off with cold hands!!!!
* Rooms: Partitioned with painted ply-wood. Very little room for the masseuse to move around

Pros: Ok massage if you like yours gentle

Cons: You can't relax there with all the noise

Great Massage and Value

by dianajane

This was one of the best massages I have ever gotten... and the cheapest! Very nice and professional staff as well. The only down side is that the space is very small and not very "elegant." But it was very clean, and besides, the massage is so good you'll quickly forget where you are. I will definitely be back.

Pros: Massage quality, value

Cons: ambience

Good Value

by tygrlilee

This was my first time every getting a massage. My boyfriend and I went to get a couple's massage. We called ahead and made reservations. When we arrived the ladies were very nice and we only had to wait a few minutes and then we able to go right in. The place was very warm so we didnt feel cold when we got undressed. the place is small, there are about 4 rooms. There curtains for doors. The massage was good and relaxing. There was nice music playing in the background. We both really enjoyed them. Only thing was you could hear the people walking and talking in the hall and hear the people nxt door. But, overall it was a good experience. The prices cannot be beat.

Pros: Massage, Value, Service

Cons: Background noise

What a day at Green Tea Spa!!

by abe6211

Other day I saw a review which shows reviewer?s or Competitor?s bad intention or jealousy about Green Tea?s success and quality services, but these kind of comments can not eclipsed green tea?s good Knowingness.
Whenever I get chance, I go to Green Tea Spa for Massage therapy. I believe this is a wonderful treatment for me to get ready for next busy days and Green tea is a best place to be. This facility is very Neat and Clean also Environment is cozy and friendly, And above all very Polite, Well Mannered and Skilled Masseuses are the best in town.
I suggest green Tea should participate in up coming Spa Week from 15th Oct to 21st Oct 07 for its greater exposure and wellbeing of New Yorker.

Wonderful Massage, Best in the City!

by clubchic4

I found this place last week on Citysearch and made an app for the massage special. I am soo glad I did! They did such an amazing job, very theraputic. And I have serious back issues, usually when I get a massage it does nothing for me, but not this time, I still feel great! And its a cute spa, very clean and professional. And you obviously can't go wrong with the price, I would suggest calling now for an app while they are offering such an amazing price!!!

Pros: Professional, Clean, Amazing Massages!!

Great chinese body work, accupucture and spa service. Great environment

by gblumberg

I have been to Green Tea recently and they have renivated the entire interior of the spa. New carpeting, walls in between rooms for increased privacy, new relaxing music CD's (I was able to request the music I wanted). The walls are freshly painted, green, and there many plants all around the store. The staff is still the same attentive therapist with the addition of a male masuese. I think the nieghborhood is fine, if I wanted to go to a fancy spa and pay high prices to help them pay thier rent, I would get what I paid for, same quality for much more money. This time I got my back waxed while I was there getting my massage and facial. This was a nice surprise to get all those services under one roof. I have recommended this spa to all my family, friends and coworkers.

Alright Value

by t_reviewer

This place is alright. The biggest problem is the location. You can hear the tenants of the near-by housing project during your treatments (even though the location is on the backside). I have been to Green Tea a number of times. Some therapists are better than others. It is basically one room with curtains separating each space. It is not the best and not the worst. It is better than average, especially if you don't care about privacy or a tranquil experience...

Pros: One of the Cheaper places in the city...

Cons: You get what you pay for

An excellent way to relax and forgot about everything

by jblumbi

Within minutes of your massage at Green Tea you have forgotten all about your worries and concerns. Your stress melts away as your knots are worked out. After a facial your skin is soft and glowing, not irritated and blothcy the way some facials can leave your skin. This is an excellent way to spend a couple of hours on the weekend and the perfect gift to give to anyone that you love.

Ecellent therapists, excellent massage, excellent prices.

by bridgebridge

60 minutes is lways a great idea. 90 minutes is even better. If you need an overall "feel good" massage, Green Tea is the place. If you require specific work, i.e lower back from too much skiing, Green Tea is definitely the place to go. And for those "I've just walked all over this islandr" shopping days, the Foot Reflexology is something to look forward to.
This place is special.

It's like butta!!!

by lblumbi

This was by far the best massage I've ever had! When you walk in you are welcomed with warm greetings and smiles. There is relaxing music playing softly in the background to "set the mood." It is important to feel comfortable with your spa environment, and green tea spa is as warm and cozy as my own home. The massuse was very well trained and professional. As soon as she got to work on my shoulders I was putty in her hands. All of my worries and anxieties melted away and the massage felt like it lasted for hours and hours. That day nothing could bother me!

Pros: Wonderful staff, environment, and of course massage

Cons: That I'm to busy to go every day!

A Diamond in the rough

by jskinder

Green Tea is a fantastic find. While the atmosphere may leave those used to day spas wanting, the massages are second to none. The owner is an MD from China, and his knowledge of anatomy will get out any kink or cramp. For the price, you cannot fine a better massage in NYC.

Pros: Inexpensive, Easy to book
