Worse experience ever!!

by fairmont1

I readed some reviews before making an appointment and they are pretty good reviews but this was the worst experience ever. The doctor was rushed and seemed like he would of rather been golfing or something. The exam was horrible and I was in pain for a week afterwards. The only person that seemed like they cared was the nurse. I would'nt recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Pros: nurse

Cons: doctor

Perfectly Comfortable Experience.

by Edenn

Today I went for my 2nd trip to the gynecologist, EVER. I was a little nervous at first but the Pearl Women's Center made everything go perfectly smooth!
The location is superb! It's located right in the Pearl District, but not in too busy of an area! They have free off street parking; which is very convenient!
Their office is beautiful! It's very modern, chic & well kept/clean. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant, friendly & helpful! I only had to wait for a matter on minutes before I was taken to the back into the exam room. [You can even print all the paperwork on-line & fill it out before you come in]!
My doctor was amazing! I will go back to her over & over again! She was very sweet & easy to talk to! I feel like she listened to what I had to say and did/is doing her best to help me!
All in all it was a wonderful experience! It made going to the gynecologist pleasant; next time I wont dread going back!

Kudos to the Pearl Women's Clinic!

They're awesome!

Pros: Free Parking, Good Location, Modern Office, Great Doctors!

Cons: Absolutely None!

A Perfect Clinic in a Perfect Setting

by VaNevesGiacometti

I am new to the area and live in the Pearl. I am a former surgeon, from Brazil. This was the first place I found and I was very lucky and blessed.. Dr Rosenfield and his team, specially Nurse Kyle McAcvoy impressed me with their knowledge, kindness, precision, not only in a very serious and scientific, medical way but also in an holistic way, seeing the patient as a whole what made me feel home. As a foreigner I had a hard time to find someone I could trust. I strongly recommend the PEARL's Women Center as an outstanding place for you to take care of your health, be heard and get out of the office like you have spent a time in a zen and clean SPA. Thank you all from the Pearl Women Center for the great welcome and for this awesome team work in such a beautiful clinic. Vanessa Neves Giacometti, MD

Outstanding Health Care and Service

by juliahorn

I was referred to PWC by a friend who had received a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy there and who was extremely satisfied with her results. I had uterine fibroids the size of a small football, they were continuing to grow, and they were blocking my bladder, so unfortunately it became clear that a hysterectomy was the only option for me. The doctor in my town was only trained in abdominal hysterectomies, but I wanted something less invasive. It was at that time that my friend told me that Dr. Rosenfield was skilled at performing difficult hysterectomies laparoscopically. So I made an appointment. The staff at PWC was all so professional, helpful, and friendly. And Dr. Rosenfield is truly a master at his craft. He told me that my case was the most difficult of the 200+ surgeries he's done, due to size and location of fibroids, yet he was able to complete the surgery without having to go abdominal. I would recommend PWC in a heartbeat to anyone, and I am eternally grateful to Dr. Rosenfield!

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing

Excellent care

by CLynG

My experience with the Pearl Women's Center was exceptionally good and I am speaking from a health care professionals point of view- I've worked in the health care field (in a Hospital) for the last 16 yrs and the customer service provided by the office staff, nursing staff, anesthesiologist and Dr. Rosenfield was excellent. However, It was my granddaughter that was the patient and not I. I attended the pre-op appointment and stayed in the waiting area during surgery. Dr. Rosenfield was wonderful with my granddaughter- he was comforting and confident. He took the time to explain the whole surgical process from arrival to discharge. Dr. Rosenfield was thorough and answered all our questions. My granddaughter felt comfortable under Dr. Rosenfield's care, as we all did. During the surgery - the entire staff were attentive and available. We were updated often as the surgery progressed. After the surgery, Dr. Rosenfield came out to the waiting area and spoke to all of us- he was professional and caring. As I stated before- I have worked in a Hospital setting for the past 16 yrs and I know the difference between good and bad customer service. I've also spent years working with a variety of health care providers, office staff, nursing staff and physicians. The Pearl Women's Center provided our family with excellent care. A heart felt Thank-you to Dr. Rosenfield for his expertise and to all his staff for taking such good care of my granddaughter.

Pros: excellent care from all staff- very comfortable waiting area- warm, caring and professional atmosphere -

Cons: parking a bit tight

Dr. Rosenfield and his team are AMAZING!!

by BethMcShane

I came to Dr. Rosenfield one afternoon for a second opinion. I left with a new gynecologist....he took so much time to explain my fibroid tumors and all the methods to alleviate/obliterate them. I loved not having to check into a big box hospital for my laparoscopic hysterectomy....Dr. Rosenfield does everything in house. This means that he could schedule me about a week out, and keep himself on schedule. That NEVER happens at a hospital.

The follow up care was exemplary...the staff is understanding and caring, and Dr. Rosenfield prides himself on thorough follow through. I really don't know how anyone had anything but a positive experience there, unless they were somehow put off by the plush atmosphere....

Incidentally, I also consulted with Dr. Bensimon, Pearl Women's Center's newest addition. He is a world renowned plastic surgeon. He spent over an hour consulting with me, and I plan to see him in the future, before father time has his way with me!!

Before PWC, I was kept waiting for over an hour at St. Vincent's to see my OB/GYN...and she never even apologized for the wait. Now, I almost hope for a wait so I can take advantage of the complimentary coffee and snacks....now that's change I can believe in!!

Pros: Dr. Rosenfield is a stand alone expert in his field.

Cons: parking can be tricky, but worth the effort!!

I really felt heard

by zenwhen

I highly recommend Dr. Richard Rosenfield to any woman suffering with a difficult gynecology problem. I have been struggling with intense pelvic pain for about five months and have seen three different doctors. Dr. Rosenfield was the first one to help me. He spent over 45 minutes with me discussing my symptoms. When was the last time a doctor did that for you? Honestly, it was the first time I ever left a doctor's office feeling like I had answers. I am finally feeling better thanks to the best gynecologist in town. Go see him. The center is beautiful and the whole staff is just wonderful.

Pros: Compassionate, listens, skilled doctor, fast scheduling

Worst experience ever

by noway11

This was hands down one of the worst experiences ever. I am new to the area and live in the pearl. I guess this is what you get when you find a doctor through advertising and he is looking for new patients. The way he treated me i am thinking he will be looking for new patients for the rest of his career. I felt the quality of care was horrendous. The doctor was rushed and never bothered talk to me about anything. Seemed like his mind was on something else. He was unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this place to someones dog.

Pros: none

Differing communication styles. Great nurses!

by sadiec

Sadly, Dr. Jung is no longer with the practice, and at the time of my last visit they were unable to share information about her where abouts. Dr. Jung was caring, pleasant, professional and compassionate. I will truly miss having her as a doctor.

Dr. Rosenfield, whom I have seen twice now, has been hurried, did not bother to read my chart and familiarize himself with my history, never asked me how I was feeling (despite the fact that his nurses had prescribed narcotics to help manage the pain I was in), was not willing to openly discuss alternatives to western medicine (he advised I "not waste too much time or money with herbs and accupuncture - and to come back to western medicine when I was ready to take care of things."), did not take the time to discuss preventative measures that might keep my problem from recurring and even though I was scheduled for a surgery with him later that day (which was avoided) - did not fully explain the extent of the procedure or any follow up care that might be necessary.

If you are looking for a business like manner and an experienced surgeon, he is a great fit. If you are looking for someone that has time to listen, I would look elsewhere.

The nurses that work for this practice are fantastic, however, and are a joy to interact with.

I have had some very positive results since working with naturopath and may no longer require the surgery that Dr. Rosenfield was going to perform.

Pros: Great nurses, nice location

Cons: Crowded waiting room, hurried doctor, lack of compassion and poor beside manner.

Dr. Rosenfield is the Best

I've been a patient for about 2 years after being referred by a friend. Dr. Rosenfield is professional, customer-focused, compasionate, and I've had nothing but great experiences. I refer all my friends to the Pearl Women's Center.

Kudos for Dr. Jung

by Cascp

I too agree with the previous post about Dr. Jung. I recently met with her for a consult and found the whole expeirence to be exceptionally good. I had no problem scheduling an appointment and I was met by professional and caring staff. Dr. Jung was prompt and waiting time was minimal. She treated me with respect and listened to my concerns. Dr. Jung was very thorough and took the time to explain to me my condition and options for treatment. I appreciate the care given to me and will recommend her to my family and friends.

Pros: professional staff and caring staff, welcoming environment - not sterile but warm

Cons: parking a bit tight

I've Met The Best GYN Ever! Dr Jung

by jryanjill

I've been to several different GYN's and after all of these years I finally found the Best. I've suffered from pelvic pain for many years and after going to the Pearl Women's Center and having a consultation with Dr Jung I finally feel like I've got some answers. She listened to what I said and didn't make me feel that my problem was not all in my head.(I've been told that before) I loved that she didn't just recommend surgery right off the bat. She recommended conservative treatment first and best of all, she asked me if I was ok with the plan! The office was BEAUTIFUL too!! That was the icing on the cake. Anyone who has any kind of a Gyn problem, I definitely recommend Dr Jung!

Pros: Gorgeous Office, Got in right away

Cons: None

A Refreshing Change

by SolunaMomma

I have been a patient of Dr. Rosenfield's for about a year or so now. I would have to disagree with the previous poster on many points. First of all, Dr. Rosenfield is a very kind hearted and caring doctor, not once did I feel rushed so he could get to the next patient, unlike how other clinics sometimes make you feel. When I came to Dr. Rosenfield I had severe chronic pelvic pain. A friend suggested I go to him, as this is one of his specialties. For many years I had gone to ERs and other doctors, and was treated as if all I wanted was pain medication. I was humiliated and defeated. Dr. Rosenfield took the time to find out what was happening, he explained many things about my issue, that no one in almost 15 years had taken the time to explain. Not once did he mention that I needed a hysterectomy, he wanted to start off conservative and work on that. He offered me trigger point injection, which basically is an injection of a local medication and a steroid. I agreed and I walked out of his office WITHOUT pain. His staff is very kind and helpful. I feel fortunate that he was suggested to me. I can trust that he has my best interests in mind. He does not "sell" hysterectomies. What he does do, is show that there is a different more personal option. An option that does not involve an assembly line hospital. You are very well taken care of at PWC. At a hospital you would spend the night and be treated like a number. The commercials that are on during Oprah, are not to "SELL" a product, they are to put into your mind that there is a better, more personal way to be treated for women's health. It does not mean Dr. Rosenfield is looking to take out as many uterus as possible. He cares, genuinely, for his patient's. His concern is you, his focus is you. I ask you, what more would you want from your gynecologist?

Pros: A personal, kind, focused Women's health center

CLIENTS BEWARE

by NICEGIRLSSAYNO

I visted this doctor for an emergency and I although the office is posh & modern....(Buyer Beware).......and he did the job he was suppose to and not much more. I would have to say his deameanor was immature and unproffessional. He is known for his LHS........Laparscopic Hysterectomy's..........I've seen his commericials on televisions during Oprah as well. Well big whoppi..........any one can remove your uterus.......but that doesn't always solve the problem,,,,,,,,and it's totally uncalled for in many situations. I was lucky enough to do my own research and have an expert do the real operation needed. So ladies don't be taken in by the fact that someone has a posh office in the pearl district.......I wouldn't let anyone remove my uterus unless it was a life or death situation cuz of the other host of problems that can cause........get a second and third Opinion......Good Luck All!!

Unbelievable

by texblazer

My story is actually a very long one. I have been suffering from very painful pelvic pain and cramping for about a year and a half. All the drs in my area were just shrugging their shoulders at my pain and I would walk out without any answers and the pain still there. I gave up trying and have continued to get worse. I was a very active person who can now barely make it through the day without curling up in the fetal position a couple times a day. Ladies this is no way to live. This part may sound funny, but my sister was watching Opra Winfrey one day and saw the Pearl Womens Center on TV. She called me and told me to check it out. I waiting for a couple months, figuring they wouldn't be able to help me either, before calling (It is about an hour drive) and making an appointment. The nurse and dr both listened and talked with me about my symptoms and how it has effected me and a hysterectomy was recommended. I left the office that day a little scared at the outcome, but overwhelmed that another dr wasn't shrugging his shoulders at me.
The office staff was great (I didn't even feel the needle for the bloodwork) Dr. Rosenfield is amazing and caring. He talked me through the reasons for the pain and the possible fixes. I have surgery on 1/3/08. I'm still scared, but I'm really ready to get my life back without the constant pain.
If a doctor ever shrugs his shoulders at you, like it is all in your head, don't give up...... You owe it to yourself to find the answer and Dr. Rosenfield might just be able to help.

Cons: Parking is very limited and hard to get into

Dr Rosenfield is sooo nice

by silviat

I find the people in the pearl women's center to be soo nice and helpful. Before going there for the first time I was a little bit skeptical and thought I was going to have to deal with snubs (like many places on the pearl), but my experience was, in fact, very satisfactory.

Pros: location, they give you same day appointments, the staff is soo nice.

Cons: parking and price

Funny but true, The Pearl Women's Center is like a spa with a speculum. By far the nicest, warmest, most friendly doctor's office I have been to-

Gorgeous waiting room, great magazines, friendly staff, ontime appointment (yeah, really !) AND, REALLY GOOD CARE.

great bed-side manners

by miranda76

i moved to the Pearl about 2 years ago, and since then, i've had to drive to beaverton to see my women's doctor. Dr. Rosenfield came recommended from two of the ladies who live in my building, and so between the proximity, and the stellar reviews, i couldn't go wrong.

Dr. Rosenfield was extremely gentle, which was very important to me. But what impressed me the most was that he *listened*. Simple as that. I am glad his office is so close by, and i'm glad i made the change.

Pros: amazing office, caring staff

Cons: none

I am usually uncomfortable (actually VERY uncofortable) with male GYN's byt Dr. Rosenfield was very gentle, quick and professional. His nurse (female) stayed in the room the entire time. I did not feel anxious or nervous.

He was also very knowlegable and down to earth about different oral contraceptives.

The atmosphere was wonderfully clean, and very pretty. I definitely recommend this doctor and his entire staff. I'll be coming back.

(Thanks for the good needle work on my bloodwork - not even a bruise or tenderness!)

Pros: good parking, great atmosphere, very clean
