The place to get any type of trimmings-buttons-notions! You name it they have it. They are certainly not the least expensive option but they are patient with non fashion types and do sneer when you just need a yard or two.

This is the type of store where I go in for one thing and get sidetracked by so many other beautiful items. This store not only carries buttons and ribbons, but you can also find beautiful silk flower pins and beading supplies. The store is divided into two stores, one with buttons and similar items, the other has trimming. This store is very popular, so you might find yourself waiting a bit to get service. The stores are small, but filled to the ceiling.

I came in here searching for birthday supplies and found everything that I needed here for cheap. They have a great selection, and carry a lot of it, so it's always in stock. The store is a bit disorganized, but the staff here knows where everything is, so it wasn't hard to find at all. I'd recommend.

This store is on of the biggest in sewing & crafts accessories in NY. They have notions, ribbons galore, piping cords, feathers, bows, buttons, rhinestones (swarovskis), jacquards, tassels.. (I wonder what the don't have). I have been there many times and usually stay for hours purchasing stuff, the point is that this place is a little too expensive most of the time (specially if you compare it to the other trimming stores in the area), but they do have a huge selection of items.
The customer service is usually helpful, although in one or ocassion or two i haven't been able to gotten much help.
PROS: everything they have is fabulous
CONS: prices
