Cannot recommend anymore. After 3 boarding experiences that were sub-par, I can't recommend. Nice people but they don't get it. Sorry...\r

We are so happy with the staff and how much our dog enjoys coming there. She plays until she is exhausted, the paytime is monitored at all times by staff and she is one smiling puppy going in and coming home. I am a very picky dog mom and

We have been taking our dog to the Happy Mailman day care since January when she was just a little puppy. She immediately took to the staff and jumps out of the car and races through the office when we arrive. We like that our dog gets to actually run around and interact with the other dogs and comes home tired. You can tell the staff truly care about the dogs, and our puppy rushes up to greet them when we arrive. I'm always recommending Happy Mailman to friends and neighbors because we're so happy with it.

I've been taking my dog here for nearly a year now. He loves it and even starts freaking out as soon as we make the turn off mopac. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and very personable. I feel very relieved to know that my dog loves them and he loves them, too. I also recently heard that they now have staff on site 24 hours, which is a big plus for me knowing someone will be there. 4 paws up for Happy Mailman!

I was googling for their number and happened across the previous review and feel the need to step in here. I use Happy Mailman very frequently and have had no issues. I re-read the contract and have absolutely no qualms with it. If you actually read the contract, it's protecting them in the event of an accident during transportation (if needed) and holding the dog's owner responsible for its behavior in case it attacks another dog or, God forbid, a person. I'd certainly take responsibility for my dog's actions and I can't blame them for protecting themselves from those circumstances. I'm also fairly confident that they'd take responsibility for their own actions, as well.

Additionally, it's pretty lame to leave a review of a place whose services you haven't even used... My dog loves the place and I'll continue to recommend them.

Pros: friendly staff, clean, and fun for the dogs

Cons: a little bit of a drive, but worth it

We were lucky to get a spot for our 2 dogs at Happy Mailman over the holiday weekend. They worked to get our 2 dogs in for a last minute "evaluation" to make sure they liked the open play environment. Our older dog has arthritis and they even kept her with smaller and calmer dogs (and didn't forget her pain meds like the last place!) while our younger lab got to romp with the big dogs. They came home happy and tired. We scheduled baths and nail trims, too, and they were clean and trimmed nicely when we picked them up. We'll definitely be using them on our next vacation.

I (and my dogs) love, love, love Happy Mailman! As soon as we pull into the drive they start clamoring to get out and pull me through the office as fast as they can so they can get to their friends and start playing! They love getting to make friends and play all day long. They also love the staff. My dogs never leave without giving the staff goodbye hugs. I love that I can feel confident that they will be safe, loved, and taken care of while I am at work. I want my dogs to be socialized, but steer clear of dogparks because of all the potential risks involved. Happy Mailman provides them with the socialization they need in a controlled environment. I can breathe easy knowing that all of their playmates are vaccinated and friendly and will play in a safe way without getting out of control. Also, I was very satisfied the one time that my husband and I had to board them for a few days. I called to check on them while we were away and the staff was so accommodating and was more than happy to give me a report on how they were doing. When we came to pick them up they had been bathed and their nails had been trimmed (as we requested) and I could tell that they had had a really good time. They were happy, healthy, and tired!I will never take my dogs anywhere else! Happy Mailman is the best!

First, the good: Happy Mailman is very clean and new, and there seems to be a good deal of room for dogs to run and play. I have taken my active dog to Taurus and Happy Mailman, and Happy Mailman seems more spacious and clean. However, there's also bad. For one, the windows for dropping off and/or picking up your pooch can be a little bit limited. We had a specific problem with these windows, when we asked a Happy Mailman employee over the phone when we could drop off our dog. The answer was "after 9." We showed up to drop her off at around noon and were turned away and left in a serious bind. It really ruined an important wedding weekend and forced us to scramble and negatively alter our plans. The employee should have told us "from 9 to 10" if that's the window for dropping off a dog, not "after 9." Moreover, when we did show up late, the Happy Mailman people could have just made an exception or figured out some other way to accommodate us, especially because the tardiness was a consequence of their poor communication. Another thing that we were concerned about was that our dog's behavior with other dogs changed for the worse when she got back from a few days of boarding at Happy Mailman. She had a bite mark or two on her, and her behavior around other dogs suddenly and radically changed when we got her back after a long weekend. Whereas before, she was always incredibly sociable and gregarious around other dogs, almost to the point of being too friendly, she became much more defensive and on-edge after a stay at Happy Mailman. Because of the bite mark and the behavioral changes, we are assuming our dog was attacked while at Happy Mailman, but we're really not sure. I liked Happy Mailman, but the bite mark and strange behavior left a bad taste in our mouth about the place, but we figured it was an isolated incident. Then, when they refused to take our dog, leaving us in such a terrible bind for such an important event, we decided we would never go back there.

Pros: Seems clean and spacious.

Cons: Poor customer service, too expensive.

I have taken my dogs here many times for overnight boarding, sometimes for just one night and sometimes for several nights. They always leave happy and tired. More importantly, my dogs react with excitement when they get to the boarding facility -- they jump out of the car and strain at the leash to go in, wagging furiously. Inside, they greet the people who care for them in the boarding facility as they would any other friend. I stopped taking my dogs to a different boarding facility in a different city after they displayed just the opposite reaction (realized where we were and cowered in the back of the car, plainly unhappy to be there). I think my dog's reaction to the Happy Mailman is probably the best indicator, although from a people standpoint I can also say the facility does a good job. Staff have been pleasant and attentive, reported to me on my dog's behavior and condition, and worked with me when I needed a special arrangement. I would highly recommend this business for pet boarding and daycare.

Wow, my experience at Happy Mailman couldn't be any more different than the previous reviewer's! My dogs really get excited as soon as they see the place and absolutely love the staff. They always come home happy and tired. I, myself, have never had any customer service problems, and they have even gone so far as to work with me for special circumstances. The location is great for me since I live in Circle C, and it's right on 290 so it's easy to get to. I suppose it could be a problem if you don't live in the area, but a map can solve that. I will definitely be recommending Happy Mailman to all of my friends.

My experience with Happy Mailman could not have been worse! I would never take my dog there again, and I would never recommend the place to anyone. When I picked my dog up, he had puncture wounds from being bitten by another dog, and he was filthy and had burrs in his fur! The staff is not customer oriented, and the location is inconvenient. Happy Mailman charges a premium price for what is supposed to be a premium service, but in this case, you do not get what you pay for. If you love your pet, do not go here!

I used this service a few times and was very happy until my most recent visit. After entering through the front office you enter the facility where the dogs are kept. Today, there was an overwhelming urine smell which made me sad to leave my dog. I had never smelled this before. I noticed today, too, that the staff seems less interested in my pet and more interested in looking cool. Also, the staff did not stick to the website hours until I called them on it. The perfect dog boarding facility eludes me...

Going on vacation was a bittersweet experience until we found Happy Mailman. Flite, our retired Greyhound, hated being left behind and generally dropped a few pounds. Jeff and his staff at Happy Mailman have completely altered our previous boarding experiences. Flite plays well with the other dogs, eats plenty, and comes home clean and tired from a hard day's play. Now she loves our trips out of town as much as we do!

I've never seen Poncho, my 5 year old Jack Russell get so excited to go somewhere before. Go to Camp? is his new favorite question. He gets plenty of exercise in the day and comes home tired (usually falls asleep in the car). This place is great for me since I can drop him off for the day on the way to getting the kids to school. They get their own air conditioned kennel to sleep in at "nap time" too, so I know he gets some rest during the day. Four paws up for Happy Mailman!

Our dog LOVES Happy Mailman. I can't walk in fast enough for her; she is ready to go play with the other dogs. The staff is wonderful and truly put the dogs' interests first. They know about animals and really love them. I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in their care. We've also boarded our dog there too and the pick-up time was great. We love that it is a cage-free environment; our dog comes up and falls on the floor in a happy tired slumber. We have been to other places and this one, hands down, is the best.

Pros: Happy Mailman = Tired, Content Puppy! Great Employees, Excellent Facilities, Cage Free Daycare

Cons: Wish pick-up time was later (but they'll work with you some), No employee stays overnight for boarding (but a lot of places don't offer that anyway)

This has been a great find, Very convenient to SW Austin residents and a wonderful alternative to leaving your pet home alone all day. My dog comes home happy and tired and it gives me peace of mind at work to know that she is scampering about outside, playing with other dogs rather than stuck at home. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this daycare/boarding kennel.

Our dogs had a chance to enjoy Happy Mailman Dog Day care today and they are sitting at my feet, content, and sound asleep. They were happy when I picked them up. The care staff gave me a verbal report on their behavior and I could tell they paid close attention to compatibility with the other dog guests. I highly recommend their services.

This place is great! Our medium sized dog needs lots of play. Normally he comes back from the kennell charged and restless. Now, he comes back exhausted. He even knows when we drive up close. He gets excited and can't wait to find a new buddy.

The service is great and they are very accomodating. Brad, one the dog keepers, is great and they know our dog well....

This place is the best!

I always felt so guilty leaving my dog Greta at home all day in my tiny place while I went to work, but yes... no more guilt! Now she gets excited every time I mention the place and bolts to the door. She has even made friends with the other regular day boarding doggies. Plus, there are no more "accidents" waiting for me at home. The staff is awesome. Very professional, friendly, and easy going. I fully trust them and they love my dog! It's comforting to have a place to board her over night that she is already familiar with when I have to go out of town for the weekend too. Check the website out to see the environment, it is really a fun place for your pets to play! The thing I like best is that it makes it easier for me to manage my time. They sell great dog food there, and have a self grooming area. No more late night trips to buy food and washing the dog in my apartment bath tub. I love this place and highly recommend it to any dog owner. Greta gets the attention and exercise there I can't always provide. A happier pet = a happier owner. Happy Mailman rocks!

Happy Mailman is a top notch retreat for your pooch. My beagle mix, Jasmine (who can be seen in the pictures on the website) loves this place. She is always full of life and happy when I pick her up.
The people out there are true animal lovers and they treat the dogs like family.
I have left Jasmine at many places throughout her 12 year life and I would highly recommend Happy Mailman.

happy mailman is the coolest dog boarding in the ATX..the facilities here are top notch.. its a relaxing, chill environment..plenty of play space for the dogs both indoors and out... this is the only place I will board my dogs. why? because the employees are genuine animal lovers and they aim to make it a fun place.. not a doggy prison as some lesser facilities have appeared to me.
