Have been using Maids by Trade for about two years now and so far it has been a good company. Generally, they are very concerned about doing the job right every time. Overall, the scheduling process is easy. We recommended them to our neighbors and they seem to be please with the service too.
I called NW Housecleaning over a year ago to clean the studio I worked at. April couldn't have been more helpful and professional. The ladies we worked with us were friendly and hard working and got every single nook and spec of dust. They were never late and always finished the promised time frame. When I left my job for a different company I brought NW Housecleaning with me. They are truly great deal in Portland. I have scheduled my residence to be cleaned every other week too. I like that they are always reliable, friendly and reasonably priced. In short, they do a fantastic job, are consistently on time and I recommend them to everyone I know.
We decided to use NW Housecleaning after my husband met Tino the owner, when they were cleaning a new house built by our company. Overall, we are pleased using them. So far they have done a great job and aside from a scheduling error, their customer service has been excellent and their rates are reasonable. We have used them for over nine years. I am glad we are using a company that uses environmentally safe supplies. In addition, we like the fact that this is a local business run and owned by hard working decent people. We highly recommend them.
Following a major renovation of the master bedroom and bathroom on the second floor and entire house was covered in construction dust. The two gals worked all day and left my house spotless and clean. Their estimate was a little off but I was ok with it since de job was so big. I will use them again.
Like Marcy writes, we too used this company for years, over three in fact. The owner of the company appears to be a decent person in conversation, but his actions toward his customers of long standing have been outrageous and grievous. The company claims to be licensed, bonded and insured. If those platitudes lull you into dreamy comfort, beware.
They did a fantastic move in cleaning last June. We were so pleased that we decided to schedule regular bi-weekly service. I have no complaints. So far they have done a wonderful job. We really like our team. Thanks Monica.
They have cleaned my house a few times and I am always very pleased with their professionalism and the quality of work they provide. I don't mind paying a little extra for good service and quality cleaning products. I like the fact that they use products made locally.
We utilized this company for five years, their staff was competent and the price was fair. On Friday April 2, (they had closed their offices for a holiday), we were called to the hospital because our son was admitted after an accident and was in ICU. I couldn't reach our cleaning team as their offices were closed, but when their team phoned me I returned their call (within 20 minutes) to give them the code for admittance to our home. They had already left and asked me to call the office on Monday to reschedule our cleaning. I spoke with the office staff on Monday, and explained that our son had died on Friday and that I was unable to reach our team to reschedule. She then informed us that we would be charged a lock-out fee. I was stunned, I couldn't imagine that they would actually feel that after a five year business relationship (without a single complaint or missed appointment) that a $35 lock-out fee was warranted in this situation. I asked to speak with the owner, Fortino, and was told he wasn't in. I sent a letter to Fortino, directly, to explain our situation, along with the $35 lock-out fee and asked him to cash the check if he felt that it was fair, or destroy it, if he considered ours to be an exceptional case. Wow, was I stunned, when two days later, the check cleared my bank account! Feeling that perhaps, he hadn't, in fact, personally received and read my letter of explanation, I phoned again, asking to speak with Fortino. I was told to leave a message and he would call me back, after a week of no response, I emailed him and asked if he had lost the number. He called the next day, and explained that, yes, he had received and read my letter, and that he felt justified in cashing the check for $35 dollars. I told him that I felt that after a five year business relationship, the fact that my son had the audacity to not give me a 24 hour notice of his intention to die, (so that I could reschedule my cleaning service) was unfathomable to me. I, as a small business owner myself, know that the value of keeping good customers often means that you look for shades of gray in an otherwise black and white world. Basic human compassion should have been enough to see that this case warranted perhaps a card of condolences rather than a lock-out fee charge. I could not, in good conscience, continue to utilize the services of a company when it is obviously owned and operated by someone without the basic human compassion of an earthworm. The crew did adequate work, and the price was fair, but the lack of scruples far outweighed their ability to operate in any redeemable manner. I have since hired another cleaning company and am thrilled to be giving my business to a company that I feel is an asset to the Portland community. I firmly believe that you get what you give, and that all transactions should be win-win. In EVERY instance that I have conveyed this story, EVERYONE has been appalled at the lack of compassion shown here. BEWARE.
Pros: Acceptable (not stellar) performance
Cons: The Owner
NW Housecleaning did a deep-clean on my house after I had moved out of it, in preparation for our new renters. All I can say is "Wow". The house is the cleanest it has ever been. We had a bathtub with terrible hard-water build-up. I tried to clean it, and could never get it clean. The tub looks terrific now. They did a great job.
Pros: Very Clean house, great attention to detail
Cons: estimate was a little off, but house looks great.
I showed them what I wanted done and then went right to work. I have 5 bedroom 3 bath house. I am very impressed with the amount of detail. They worked since the minute they got here until it was done. Everybody was very friendly, they knew what there were doing, and ask me to check overeverything before they left. The next day a got a call from the office to make sure everything went well. I've never seen my house this clean. Now I get to enjoy my house. I am already on weekly schedule.
Pros: I get the same team every time. Trustworthy and that says it ALL !
