I like that they got the name Nectar from the fact that it used to be a diaper delivery business. :) Great bands in an intimate venue. Eat before you get here, but get here early if you want a seat. See, be seen, enjoy!

Pros: intimate venue for drinking and listening, indoor/outdoor

Cons: must pick the right night for the right band

Definitely the best happy hour in Seattle and a great party spot . Found a fantastic deal at this site called Urban Spoils . Check it out !

Nectar is a great place to see live music, with amazing viewpoints and top notch indie hip-hop, reggae, and roots options. I've seen The Grouch and Eek-a-Mouse and both times had a great experience with the sound, and crowd (which generally skews younger and more casual). The best feature is the sliding door that opens up to the patio which allows concert-goers to see the live acts from both inside and out. When the weather permits, there is no better place to enjoy the live music experience. The decor is minimalist and their is plentiful seating, but for the most part people are grooving to the music and wouldn't think of sitting down.

This Fremont bar is a great place to go on the weekends if you're into fun, lively music. They have an awesome patio and little dance floor inside, or you can go upstairs and lounge in one of the booths. There's usually a cover charge if there's a band and the drinks are a little pricey, but if you're into great music, you should definitely check it out.PROS: Great musicCONS: Pricey drinks

You won't find a better place in Seattle to see live music...every seat in the house is prime! They have a great mix of live bands and funky DJ's. Do yourself a favor and check out Nectar!

Server didn't give us our change and when we went back to ask for a box she had the nerve to give us attitude and talk back. What she didn't know was that we hadn't finished ordering and hadn't tipped her yet. Eat before entering and only order drinks from the bar. There is a good restuarant called Brauers across the street from Nectar; heading West.

As with all Fremont music venues, you are running the risk of surrounding yourselves with two specific kinds of pretension: 1) pseudo-hipster types and, 2) frat kids. Nectar has room for both types and also brings in a more Well-Groomed "We're from Queen Anne but came down to catch Reggae band" crowd. All in all, the space is good for small gatherings and has great artwork on display from local artists. The drinks are slow to come when the band is good. The drinks are easy to obtain when the band is no good but, then you're stuck listening to bad music and watching the friends of the band ham it up - much better odds of enjoyment in the summer when the outside can be utilized.

This is my favorite bar and I go here aprox once a week for happy hour and/or a show.

What just happened though with the plastic glasses? Come on!! Drinking Mac & Jacks in plastic isnt the same.

I might have to move my business elsewhere.

There was a great hip hop group playing. Must have been hundreds of people there. You couldn't get to the bar for a drink! What's the deal?

Nectar is awesome! I originally went in for Happy Hour and ended up staying till close. The food was great ($5 Pizza, score) and they had a VJ playing just about any video you'd ever want to see and hear (Violent Femmes anyone?). As a live music venue it rivals the Showbox as far as great views and good sound. The loft was cool though I could only check it out for a moment cause there was private party going on, seems to be a great view of the stage. Our server was sassy but sweet and very prompt which seems to be an anomoly these days. The whole experience start to finish was enjoyable and didn't hurt when I saw my tab. Go to Nectar before its so full you can't get in.

Pros: Food, Service, Music

Cons: Non Smoking

Don't expect service to be any thing but sub par. The staff is extremely disorganized and totally inept. It took over 1 1/2 hour to get our food after having to have to hunt down a waitperson and we were never able to get her to take a drink order. Had to open a tab at the bar and when closing out was blatently overcharged on my credit card slip. Staff was completely unhelpful and pretty much ignored me instead of dealing with this complaint. Total disappointment.

I'd actually met one of the owners while trying to find a home. He's also in Real Estate. Although we ended up parting ways prior to finding my house, I had the pleasure of bringing friends to this establishment. The care and expense they've placed into the decor and music is top shelf. The crowd is great and ambience even better. The patio opens up on warm evenings for the smokers (like myself). The music is not too loud and is excellent. The owner, one of them at least, that rhymes with 'ed' is a great guy and even better businessman bringing us a place like Nectar. Check it out.

I've never been when there's a cover charge. But, the happy hour is great. And, I'm glad they're smoke-free! On another visit, I attended a friend's birthday celebration. We had reserved the big booth/table and use of the pool table upstairs. A great spot!

The security guards and cashier were very friendly and funny! I was super impressed that the bar is SMOKE FREE! The music was good (different blend of alternative/electronic genres). I enjoyed the ambience and crowd, and drinks were reasonably priced. The cover charge was $6 the first time I went on a Friday night, and $7 the second time on a Saturday night; I think those prices are a little steep for a Seattle bar, but I think it's worth it since it's smoke-free. The venue itself is a bit small, and there is little seaing inside. The bar and restrooms are clean, outdoor patio is spacious. Overall I recommend this club, and I'm definitely drawn to it because it's SMOKE FREE! I hope other bars/clubs in Seattle pick up on this trend as many people like me are willing to pay a little extra for it.
