I am a fanatic when it comes to my animals. Nothing is too good for my two prize dogs. I had to leave on a 10 day business trip unexpectedly.. I did not do any homework and needed a place quickly so I went here. Never ever ever again will I take my animals even near here. This business is a sheep in wolfs clothing. When I got my animals back not only were they skinnier and had fleas galore, But I had to hospitalize one my loves because of a stomach disorder which cost me over $5000.00 and not to mention the stress and worry I had about my baby.. Don't go here period, and tell your friends.. Please ... If you love your animals.. do not go here.. Period..

Owner harasses customers and threatens because he has serious mental issues. We do not recommend this place as it is dirty and our dog came home sick. They cannot clean their artificial turf. Kennels in the back make it look like a public shelter. Staff untrained. We wish we would have known before we signed up. Went twice and had owner harass us as he did not like our honest opinion and request for refund. Last thing we hear on many reviews is that owner is also harassing new neighborhood day care centers as they are cleaner and better. Our suggestion: pooch hotel a half block away with super clean facility and professional staff.

I would not recommend this place! My little dog stayed for five days when I was called out of town on a family emergency, and I returned to find him underweight and with a staff infection! He required antibiotics, and the vet said it was caused by an unclean boarding facility. My cousin also had a bad experience having her dog groomed at LA Dogworks. The groomer got soap in his eye and failed to realize it which resulted in an eye irritation that cost several hundred dollars to heal. Aside from my own personal experience and that of my cousin, the word on the street is that this place isn't good for your pets.

I just went in there today to check it out. It was VERY clean. Also I was impressed that the grooming is in the window, in full view of staff and clients and public -- this means good treatment (although as I didn't get my dog groomed, I can't comment on that).

Front reception desk was pleasant and warm. Gave my dog a small treat after asking permission, as is proper. A lovely dog leaving the grooming area was very happy. I asked a groomer what breed a dog was that I could see through the glass and she very courteously went and checked for me.

The boutique had the nicest dog bowls I've ever see. The food selection was very small, but had top high-end brands (Innova, Ziwipeak).

Their "high-end" daycare ads and reputation (as well as over pricing) seems to be simply all talk. While their grooming department has been professional, kind and great with customer service/detail... the park & front desk staff has a rotating door therefore bringing in inexperienced staff with very little training before being put in charge of specific dog food and medications! Even the front desk manager and staff (while I understand have a very detail oriented job) have multiple times brought back the wrong food and belongings that I've left with my dog to have/need. I read what the owner, Andrew, had to say on here but I just want to recommend to other people considering going here, check out your other options in Los Angeles! And to Dogworks, please organize and maintain your staff so the dogs are safe and personally cared for while there! Mine certainly wasn't after several tries.

To all of you that are compelled to write your words of woe let me say this.Thank you to those of you who wrote legitimate complaints that could be addressed in a positive manor. As a result of the complaints about Natalie and her dogs, she was fired and her dogs went with her. As far as the odor issue. The problem has been identified as equipment failure and is being corrected. We will soon be odor free again! My customer service team has read all the postings pertaining to them and they are truly sorry for anything they did to upset you. New policies are in place and they welcome you all to visit and see the great new products in the boutique. To insure the health and safety of our guests, there is a zero tolerance policy for the staff. We aim to hire and maintain a well trained professional staff, unfortunately the standards are high and so is the turn over rate. I am doing everything I can to maintain the high standards and impressive record for health and safety intact. To the people that have nothing to do but write hateful and hurtful comments from behind a keyboard. Why do you not have the guts to come to me personally and say these things. How will I ever fix it if you don't tell me. Instead I read it on City Search. Are you trying to hurt my business or help it. I will say that of the hundreds of clients we have few have complained and those who have had an issue were satisfied with the results. If you write, pleaase be responsible and honest. There has never been a case of Giardia contracted at LA Dogworks,EVER! And our Canine Cough record is impeccable. We have had our share of nicks and cuts but for the most part our safety record is far above average. I do my best to make LA Dogworks a great place for your dogs to play and stay. To all of the members of the LA Dogworks family,THANK YOU for your understand and loyal support. I hope I have made myself clear, if you have a problem at LA Dogworks, please contact me and I will make sure you are satisfied.

This place is just dispicable. The workers there are picky and choosy to whom they will be nice to. There is one lady who works there that has long blonde hair with an accent and her two huge dogs are there with her. She just lets them wander around and if they try to attack another smaller defenseless dog she does nothing. She will just yell "Daisy Dixie stop it" in her accent. I do have to give them props for their retail shop. They have very unique collars and accessories, even thought they are high priced.

Although the place is pretty nice, the service I received was not professional in the least bit. As soon as I walked in I expected to be attended to, but the people were just talking to each other and barely looked at me. They finally asked me for the dog and took him and kept talking. They were also on "myspace" the whole time. One of the girls was just talking away to the other girl pretty angrily without taking the chance to give their clients the sufficient attention. With people like this, I'm not so sure if I want my baby staying with them. They need to pay more attention to the clients and not their personal lives!

Do not go here! They are not as nice as they put themselves out to be! I took my dog here and I saw the way they treat the dogs. They only act on favoritism and treat the ones they don't like as rags! One woman let her own 2 large dogs attack my dog upon entering and she did not try to stop them!

There are dog care places and then there is LA Dogworks! This place is clean, safe and built like no other I have seen. They gave me a tour and I saw everything, they did not hide anything from me. I have three dogs going there for day care and boarding. When I travel I do not worry because I know they are in great hands. They have every service I could want and a retail store all under one roof! The staff are trained and most are certified. This place never smells badly either. I can not say enough, thank them enough or give enough praise to the folks at LA Dogworks.

PROS: They have a retail store, grooming, boarding and daycare all under one roof
CONS:

I chose LA Dogworks because it was fairly close to my residence. Although I could've gone with other places for grooming I went with them because of reputation but boy was I wrong. The price I paid (above avg) was definitely not worth it. My dog came out worse looking than it went in. Very dissapointing.

PROS: None
CONS: Sloppy Job, Overpriced!

If you have a canine, any canine, and you love them as your children, then LA Dogworks is THE place to have the staff care for and love them. I two "children" attending LA Dogwaorks during the day and at times boarding...and I am at peace knowing they are there.

I have been a staff member at LA Dogworks for over a year and a half. My father is in the pet industry and met Andrew at an expo in San Diego. My father mentioned I love dogs and needed a job because I was graduating college in the spring. I was immediately offered a job and jumped at the chance. I thought I knew a lot about dogs because my mom is a groomer and Ive always had 2 or more dogs in my house growing up. Its amazing how much I have learned in the time working there. I am now a certified pet care technician, certified in canine CPR and first aid. I love working there. I love the dogs so much. When I take a vacation to head home, I find mysele thinking about the dogs and how they are doing. I have gotten to know the dogs and their owners so well and I enjoy seeing them everyday. The working environment is the best in the world. We have the best staff yet at LA Dogworks and I treat my fellow employees and managers as my family. I know If I ever need anything they will be there in a heart beat. I bring my dog everyday and she absolutely loves it. When I ask her if she wants to go to work she gets so excited and jumps and hops around. I just wanted to thank LA Dogworks for providing me with such a great experience. This is the most special place I have ever encountered. Thank you guys :)

Thank you L.A Dogworks for your compassion and professional service. Cosmo, my 13 year old Golden Retriever, was in need of Hydrotherapy exercise for his arthritis. The semi-floating in water while exercising would be very beneficial to my buddy. Through some research I found that L.A. Dogworks had the finest Hydrotherapy equipment on the market. I called for an appointment and evaluation meeting. Andrew, the owner, called me back for some additional information, as he conducts the hydrotherapy sessions. We spoke at first about the Hydrotherapy, and then about the challenges of helping our animals through difficult times as they get older, you all know what I mean, I knew that I had found the right place. Andrew, and his very helpful staff, made us feel welcome and cared for. While doing the therapy sessions, three times a week, Andrew adjusting the treadmill, water temperature, making sure Cosmo was alright, Andrew and I would talk . I found him very dedicated to the well being and comfort of his furry guests. I would highly recommend Hydrotherapy for any of you who want to keep our older friend moving without the stress. If you choose to use L.A. Dogworks for this therapy, I know you will be happy with the staff, equipment, and results, and the cost is nominal for the benefits received. Thank you again.

The staff at LA Dogworks have all read the review "Worst place in town" and only one person comes to everyones mind. He was fired for a bad attitude, not being a team player and was terrible with the dogs. He refused to clean and was a liability to LA Dogworks so we fired him. This spoiled Beverly Hills poor little rich boy would say anything to get even. First,No dog is kept in a kennel for 22 hours. The dogs that can not be in the indoor dog park are walked a minimum of three times a day for a half hour each. Dogs that stay home all day don't get that. In the morning and evening they get private park time to run around and play with a Certified Animal Care team member. This "photographer" spent a year and a half researching the dog care industry. I consulted with the best Veterinarian in Los Angeles for four months and hired the best engineer in the business to help build LA Dogworks. As for small dogs, three of them that come to LA Dogworks are mine and all the small dogs get loads of attention. Pack mentality over water bowls and toys? How did this guy get a job at LA Dogworks in the first place?!! We do not allow toys in the park area, ever! With the knowledge that dogs may fight over a toy or ball it would be negligent for me to allow them in the park, it is a chance I will not take. As for me being lazy and barking orders, don't make me laugh. I have a staff of 40 and 28 of them are certified Animal Care Technicians. With building a new LA Dogworks and running the day to day operations, that I do from my office, I trust that my management team and highly trained staff can handle their jobs. I am at LA Dogworks 7 days a week and I do several walk throughs a day just so I am on top of everything. I love LA dogworks and am proud of the fact we are recognized internationally as one of the best dog care centers in the world! My staff and I work hard to provide the best dog care and peace of mind for our clients. I guess you can't please everyone, but we sure do try.

First of all let me say that my dog has problems. He does not get along with other dogs and suffers from severe separation anxiety. LA Dogworks handles him very well. When I arrive the staff always works with me to ease his anxiety and get me out of the door so I can get to work. They are caring and I feel very comfortable leaving him in their hands. I was traveling and my dog became ill. They left a message on my voicemail asking for permission to take him to the vet. Unfortunately I did not receive the message as I was in an area with poor cell phone coverage. They made a judgment call and took him to the vet and I am so glad that they did! Recently I received a call reminding me that the Thanksgiving holiday was coming and I had not made a reservation. They were almost full and wanted to confirm if I needed to board him. Of course I did and I appreciated the efforts. I love the fact that I can pretty much drop off and pick up anytime I want to(Unheard of in this business). The location is not great for me and adds at least an hour of travel time each way. I would not even consider a different place. I originally thought I would mention names of some people who do an outstanding job but I then I thought that pretty much everyone there does an outstanding job so I will just say THANK YOU!!!!!!

I used to like this place until I went to pick up my dog late one night and he was soaked and shivering on his underside and ear tips. When I got him home I gave him a bath and when I was drying him off out of know where his nose started pouring. I thought maybe he has a cold no big deal. We went to bed and the next morning we got up went outside to go potty and he's blowing bubbles out of his mouth. He was eating some grass so sometimes it looks like that. But when I put his breakfast out he sat next to his bowl and looked at me. He didn't even attempt to eat it. I went to the bank and came back and he was lying in my floor and I said his name a few times and he didn't even raise his head. I immediately rushed him to the vet and my vet opened his mouth and his entire mouth was ulcerated. I couldn't believe it. I felt so horrible. My vet said find out what chemicals they use bc he must of licked them and it ate every bit of skin in his mouth. He couldn't eat at all which meant he hadn't eaten in days due to his mouth. I called LA dog and asked the front if I could find out what type of chemicals they used and mysteriously no one knew. They said that Jamie would but was in a meeting and they would have him call me ASAP. Lies Lies!!! I finally called about 5 hours later and spoke w the owner and he was nice but at that point you have to be bc La dog had no clue my dog was sick and wasn't eating bc he had no skin in his mouth. But anyway my pup is better now but it took him a little over a week to chew again. He ate stage 1 baby food(meaning mush) and drooled like know other.

Pros: 24 hours

Cons: to long in a cage/ raw mouth

.

I left my little dog here when I was called away on a family emergency and returned to find him underweight and with a staff infection! He needed antibiotics, and the vet said it was caused by an unclear boarding facility. My cousin also had a bad experience while getting her dog groomed. The groomer got soap in his eye without realizing it. Her dog required a trip to the vet which ended up costing several hundred dollars. Beware of LA Dogworks!

I took my dog for the first time today and overall, LA dogworks is a pretty great place. I can understand some of the negative reviews and spoke with ex employees also. They take care of tons of dogs on a daily basis, so of course not all dogs are going to get 100% attention. But try taking care of 30-40 dogs all in one place, and not have them all barking and trying to have them all stay calm. The staff are super accomodating and try their best to please every dog owners request. My dog is a "no park" dog, and I just make sure that they mark down each time he is taken on a walk. And they even put dogs on the treadmill to give them even more exercise. (Especially when it's scorching hot outside) Yes, it can be a bit pricey, but in LA where dog walkers cost up to $20 an hour, LA Dogworks is worth it. And even now, my dog came home and he's tired! Which is great because he's a very high energy dog.

I am very neurotic about my dog, and was nervous about bringing him anywhere to board. However, LA DOGWORKS makes sure their staff, facilities and daycare is top-notch. The indoor dogpark where they get to play all day while they board is fantastic, the doggy den rocks (where else can your dog watch Animal Planet on a flat screen TV while they nap), the kennels are quite spacious, and the place is CLEAN!!! How they do that is amazing! It seems they pay attention to every dog, and make sure any individual needs are met (feedings, meds, etc). Their groomers are wonderful (although that one guy in charge in that department, who I dont think is a groomer, does have a bit of an attitude), Overall though, I feel the staff is really great - the front desk folks are pleasant and helpful. It is obvious they love dogs as much as I do, and they try to go out of their way to make me and my little guy feel special, welcome and safe. One guy even called me the first time I boarded my dog there a few weeks ago, just to let me know that my dog was doing great, and not to worry......What more can I say!! I love this place, and so does my special little guy......

I assume a lot of things have changed at this center. I was a bit wary at first due to some of the feedback. But this place is fantastic. I went in for an evaluation for my 6 month old puppy and immediately everyone from the receptionist to the "interviewer" to the owner (even) were so attentive and friendly and professional. My dog took to the indoor (lovely!) park right away and there was a wonderful doggie guy supervising IN the park. The great thing is it's open 24 hrs! For someone with odd hours and events to attend in the evenings, this was exactly what I was looking for.
For the price of what I would pay just a dogwalker to come a couple hours, this allows my pup a social life as well!

ex employee that couldn't stand being there for more than a month! The cleaning chemicals made the dogs smell and made their paws red and swollen from that terrible grass in the play area. Dogs that weren't social enough for the play yard were kept in their kennels for 22 hours of the day, with minimal walks. Owner only gives A+ customer service to celebs, was a photographer, what does he know about running a doggie daycare? Small dogs are deprived of attention, since the big dogs need to be watched for "pack" mentality and aggression over water bowls or toys. I can go on and on about the negatives of this place. Owner is lazy and stays in his office the entire time, barking orders from a mic like a warden. Blah! If you love your dog, keep them away from LA dogworks

Great place. VERY Clean & dogs are Happy!!! NOT noisy & dogs play. I was there several times before leaving my two sensitive & severely spoiled bulldogs. Our one English bulldog takes a lot of medication for seizures, allergies & thyroid problems & they never messed up with the meds. I would know this because he would have had an episode and been very withdrawn & tired when we picked him up. The first time our boys went they didn't want to leave us. Now we take them there and they run right into the back without even saying "goodbye". Only negative is that the front desk is overwhelmed with phones, people and dogs. They easily get distracted and confused. Confirm your reservation & pickups/dropoffs. Type out all schedules of medications and treats or special routines. I don't care what they write down in a chart. If you provide them with two schedules.. one that goes with the meds and one that can be posted in front of their kennel, then you can feel reassured that you took the necessary care to prepare them. Don't leave your dog's care to a kid whose's writing down what he/she thinks they heard you say.

I knew what I wanted in a kennel for my dog and I found it and more at LA Dogworks. I was skeptical at first after reading the negative reviews on City Search but I kept on hearing friends and other people at the dog parks I go to rave about it. I called and made an appointment for my "evaluation" I was put off a bit because after all I was evaluating LA Dogworks. When I got there I was amazed by the grooming going on right in the open for everyone to see, one point for LA Dogworks. I walked in with my dog who immediately wanted to run to the dogs in the play area, he was excited, not a normal reaction for him. A big hello from the front desk and suddenly a very quirky high energy girl was kissing my dog and she asked if she could give him a treat. I am glad she asked as my dog has a funny stomach and most treats upset his belly. She told me they are Nutro for sensitive stomachs, I bought a box, one more point for LA Dogworks. I will say after reading about the urine smell on City Search I failed to see or smell what people were talking about. There was a slight something but nothing to write about. I introduced myself and informed the girl that I was here for my evaluation. She grabbed a walkie talkie and announced my arrival. Moments later I was met by a pretty girl with a big smile. Next thing we were in a room being asked all sorts of questions about my dog. Then she took him to the play area to see how he would be with the other dogs, and I go a tour. We both passed the evaluation. As I was paying for the items I purchased in the store a man came up to me and asked how we did, I said we passed and his next words were just the thing I wanted to here, he said," that's great, welcome to the family" with that he bent down and literally kissed my dog on the muzzle. That was about three months ago. My dogs goes almost every other day for daycare and boards when I travel. He has never gotten sick, he loves going there and I do too. 1000 points for LA Dogworks!!

We got our dog six months ago and visited a few doggy day cares in the area... from the screening process it was clear to us that this is a place we can trust. they did a very good check up and made sure our dog was well behaved and not aggressive which made us feel good. he has been going there now for 4 months every day for almost 8 hours, and he seems to love it. the place is very well managed, always clean, the staff is fantastic, and there are always 3-4 people inside the dog run engaged with the dogs and make sure that they stay out of trouble. they are really good with special requests, and they seem to always notice how the day passed for our dog... when we pick him up they often give us an update on what he has been up to... and most importantly, he is very tired at night!

Pros: Best doggy daycare in hollywwod area

I recently had a wonderful shopping experience at LA Dogworks on the day that I came in it was very busy, but the young lady at the front with tattoos and dark hair was very friendly and helpful she showed me lots of lovely collars and even found me a matching leash. When I went to pay for my merchandise there was another tall young lady with beautiful hair who was helping customers, who like wise was very friendly and helpful. It is very apparent to me that customer service is important here. I will be back in the future for the great customer service and the unique merchandise.

Cons: staff isnt properly trained/front desk on the computer on myspace

This place is horrible. Not so much the facility but the staff. They are not trained nor qualified to take care of dogs. The manager Natalie obviously knows nothing about dogs. Her dogs, Daisy and Dixie are jerks who pick on and attach the shy dogs. They don't get disciplined, Natalie just laughs and lets it happen. I would never allow my dog to stay there. Its just not a safe environment for your dog and mine.

So I was in there last week and I got to tell you that the staff there was horrible. There was a particular woman who just made me cringe with her high pitched voice and she seemed to be yelling at what I can only assume was her own dog. I heard her curse a few times, I don't believe she knew I was in the building because I was not greeted by her at all. The other 2 woman at the front, 1 with curly black hair and 1 with wavy reddish brown hair, definitely made an effort to greet me and make sure I was being helped. But they then had to tend to other people in the back area, and left the front after making sure I was doing well. But this woman made me feel uncomfortable and I did not want her o help me at all.

i have two big dogs who love to hang out with other dogs. i used to take them to dogworks when i travel for biz, until my last visit (6/07). most other reviews are accurate -- their yard handlers are GREAT, but their desk management staff is TERRIBLE. they are rude, lazy, and unknowledgeable. for instance, they called me the day before i was bringing my dogs in for 5 days to tell me that one of my dogs needed bordatella update. which was incorrect -- so after 3 calls back and forth, they realized it was my second dog, and it wasnt bordatella it was a titer for rabies. i was put on hold for 5-10 mins each, and once they hung up on me. i got it all sorted out (a lot of patience from me), dropped them off, and a few days later came to pick them up. FYI -- the groomers are GREAT there, and the all-hours drop off/pick up is so helpful. When i picked them up, the bed i left for them was literally soaked with urine (and this is a massive bed). clearly -- these dogs were not let out of their cages for over 12 hours (they can go 12 without urinating). this is INSANE -- i pay $150 per night for this?? when i asked them about it, they said -- oh, it happens, dogs get stressed. Uh uh -- my dogs have been there MANY times, never happened before. and stress wouldnt be saturated urine. don't take your dogs there -- they are not worth the $$ any more.

Smells so bad, you can handle that its dogs, whatever. Whats more important is poor customer care. All look lost and as if they do not know the procedures, thats if there is any. Spent 5 mins paging their front desk manager, wish they hadnt bothered. Out comes this LOUD and obnoxious woman called dez, half ful of herself and half full of bad language, rude to her staff, rude and abrupt to clients. How did she get the job?!? very off putting. no professionalism at all.

There are a few nice people that care for the dogs at LA Dogworks. But for a facility that is supposed to be "high end" the service and attitude of some of the staff is more like low end. I am not trying to bash this facility, but just because you charge a lot for day care and sell expensive dog toys and clothes doesn't give you the right to be snotty at times. I would've have written this if I only had one bad experience. First of all there is always a red headed young woman at the front desk who seldom lifts her head up from the computer to greet anyone properly. It seems as though she is more fixated on whatever she is doing on the computer than greeting customers or even trying to smile. She seems like she doesn't want to be there at all. Also there is someone there named Bobby or Robby or something that seems like he thinks he is the owner. I don't know, maybe he is, but his "better than anyone else" attitude I have witnessed is something that shouldn't be displayed in front of customers. I also took up some of these concerns with their manager Natalie and nothing seemed to be done about it. I don't know what is the problem there. Maybe its a power struggle to find qualified young people to run a business, or maybe they don't pay their employees enough to care. Which I hope is not true based on how much they charge for everything there.

I consider myself a pretty layed back person so maybe thats why these few employees felt like they didn't have to act in a certain way, that they could just be myself. But I am sorry there are a few other "high end" doggie place right near by that will treat their customers right.

Pros: the few nice people that work in the back with the dogs are great along with a few of the people that do the haircuts and stuff

Cons: read my review. power struggling employees, lazy butts and no management.

As the owner of LA Dogworks and I would like to set the record straight. First the urine smell is something I am conscious about, anyone who knows me knows my credo,"We are only as good as we smell". I often ask people if there is an offensive odor when they walk in,99% of the time the answer is no! Depending on the time of day, at what point in the air exchange cycle and other factors is whether or not there will be an odor at all. As far as chicaml's dog being attacked, well that is just nonsense. I know Dixie and Daisy very well, and they have never attacked any dog, ever! They are two of the guardian dogs here, meaning that they keep other dogs in line. It is a natural behavior for them and I trust them to damper bad behavior in our indoor dog park. If chicaml's dog came in with an attitude, well they may have just been laying down the law. But by no means did they attack the dog. Natalie is our Director of Animal Care, not a park manager, she is a Certified Animal Care Technician, as are most of the Team Members at LA Dogworks, and is studying for her Vet Tech degree. She is far more qualified than most people in the dog care business. If a customers dog comes in and poops in our retail area, well, we clean it up. LA Dogworks again is by far one of the cleanest facilities you will find anywhere. If chicaml happened to walk in at a time when this happened well, oops, I am sure it was cleaned up immediately. OK, now I think chicaml is stretching it when she say our staff is unfriendly and poorly managed. My Team Members are great people with a crazy love for dogs. They are all trained to helpful, friendly and courteous. There is a reason why LA Dogworks is internationally recognized as one of the best dog care centers in the world, we do our best to provide excellent dog care and peace of mind in a safe healthy environment. I am sorry that chicaml had a bad experience, it is very unusual. I invite anyone to visit, take the tour and see for yourself.

I took my dog there to check it out. It looks nice but as soon as I walked in I could smell the urine. My dog was attacked upon entering the facility by two dogs. The owner of the dogs was a blond lady with a English accent. I was in disbelief when she told me she was the "Park Manager". Upon our conversation she showed little signs of knowing much about dogs and I hardly believed her when she claimed to be an animal behaviorist. I also notice dog feces in the retail store when I was checking it out. I don't know what kind of place keeps its store in such a state. The staff was very unfriendly and poorly managed. I watched the park for a bit and the dog interaction with the staff and other dogs. And I do not like how the manager let her dogs attack other dogs and she would laugh and think it was funny, instead of punishing them she would also blame the other dog. When it was clearly her dogs poor behavior, some animal behaviorist.

Pros: Looked nice

Cons: Poor staff with lack of knowledge.

My dog loves this place more than you can imagine. She doesn't go every day, but she's made lots of friends there, both 2 and 4 legged, and she can't wait to see them when we pull up. The play area is sparkling clean, and the friendly staff dotes on their furry clientele. The store carries the most comfortable beds you've ever seen (I have three), and such creative and appealing toys that you almost want to play with them yourself. And since they're open 24 hours a day, you have a great option if you're out for a long evening, or working later than expected. But it's the grooming that really sets this place apart. I've never had a dog that needed a specific haircut, but now I have a wire fox terrier, and they get a very complicated grooming that a lot of places won't do. I've also heard stories about animals being handled roughly and restrained during the process. But the groomers at LA Dogworks do everything, and they do it with gentleness and precision. I came in early once and observed the last few minutes of my dog's grooming (big windows take the worry out of what they might be doing), and she was being lovingly handled and reassured. She wagged her tail the whole time. Going to LA Dogworks assures me that my dog will always come home happy. And so will I.

Our dog died during his stay at this facility. He showed signs of bloat the day after we left for our trip. They took him to the Hospital for tests. The vet released him stating that the symptoms had disappeared and no further tests would be beneficial. He was returned to LA Dogworks. Two days later the symptoms reocurred. By the time he was returned to the vet, it was too late. We spent approx.$4,000.00 trying to save his life. Afterwards, I made an appointment to talk with the owners. They were cavalier and disinterested. They attempted to shift responsibility to us or the vet saying that there were more tests that should have been done (contrary to what the Vet had stated). We travel often and have used Paradise Ranch in the valley. Over a 5 year period, there was never a major medical issue. We decided to try LA Dogworks, since we were goinig on a short trip and they were closer to our home. Perhaps it was our dog's time to go or a freak accident. The whole incident left me feeling very uneasy about the care at LA Dogworks. They put on a great show; however, there was a strong vibe of TENSION among the workers. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

OK, now I have seen everything! I took my dog to LA Dogworks for what they call an evaluation to see if she was able go to their day care and board over the holidays. Well, forget get her, I want to stay there! First of all it's cleaner than some human hotels where I have stayed. Second, the staff or Team Members as they call themselves are nicer than most at human hotels. Third, the place is beautiful! Hydrotherapy?! Massage Therapy?! Indoor Dog Park ?!! This place has it all and it for my DOG!!! I actually feel good about leaving her there, and wish I could stay there with her. The only thing I can say is, when I die I hope I come back as a dog at LA Dogworks!

I come from Belgium to work in the USA, I am a photographer. I have known Andrew for years and when he told me he was leaving photography to open a dog care ficility I had to laugh. He has always loved dogs and I have told him to many times to photograph them. Well, I came to visit to see LA Dogworks and I must tell you I have never seen such a place anywhere in the world! Clean is an understatment, I was shocked! The staff gave me a tour and I do not think my mouth closed the whole time I was there, I was in awe. The dogs all played like little childern in the indoor park. Even the disign is not what I thought it would be, beautiful wood beems highlighted by the skylights. Stone walls against crisp white walls with glass and metal, the entire place is a photograph. I am so proud of Andrew and his wonderful staff at what they have created, I regret not bringing my dog with me, next time.

I walked in and noticed how spotless the open floor was and the employees were terrific! They run and play with the dogs throughout the day so my dog was exhausted and very happy! My dog stayed for 4 days and she was in the best of care. I wouldn't bring my girl anywhere else. I highly recommend LA Dogworks!
