Wow! Made a last minute appt. for a party of ten for their offered tea tasting service. We were positively blown away by the selection and education we got!

Our server, Mary, was so polite and helpful and the tea itself was as indulgent as the room it was served in! When the staff discovered we were all together for my daughters' Birthday, they even gave her a wonderful green tea-lemon bar, which she highly recommends.

Cons: I spend too much money on tea

I was out looking for teapots for Christmas gifts and I stumbled onto The Path of Tea. I was so surprised to find the teapots so reasonably priced. I saw some of the same sets in the Galleria for twice the price! They had pots from Japan, China, Korea and Germany. I saved so much money I could buy one for myself as well. I also did not know they were the only totally organic tea shop in town. That is great. I will do all my shopping there this year.

Cons: Isn't right in my neighborhood

We all are experiencing a tightening of the economy. I have to be careful about my finances. I go to The Path of Tea twice a week and feel it is the best money I spend each week. The prices for a pot of tea are very reasonable - $4 for a small pot or $6 for a large pot. All the teas cost the same amount no matter how expensive the tea is. Not only do I feel better drinking organic tea, but I also have an evening of playing scrabble or having a great conversation with the other customers. It is not just tea - it is an experience. Best money I spend all week.

I am from Boston and we have many places to go and hang out and have great tea. I stumbled into the Path of Tea after having lunch next door at Field of Greens. I felt like I was home in Boston! This place is wonderful. They have alot more organic teas than I have ever seen in one shop. As a matter of fact, they are all organic. Wow! The tea was brewed properly and tasted great. I have been drinking tea for 45 years and I never knew all the things they taught me about tea in ten minutes. The service was fantastic and the lemon bars were heavenly! I love this place and will tell everyone!

I tried the Path of Tea for the first time last week. My friend had been ranting and raving about it for far too long, so I had to try it for myself! Well...what an experience! I tried the ORGANIC Ginger Citrus Rooibos while my friend sipped on the ORGANIC Monk's Sacred Blend . It was a fabulous experience and I learned so much about tea from the friendly staff that was there to help me...it is a wonderful place to take a friend , catch up and soak in the relaxing energy.

I saw the lady who owns this shop on Great Day Houston with Deborah Duncan. I had no idea tea was so good for you. The owner of The Path of Tea was a guest on the show and she talked about alot of different types of tea and what they did for your health. It was amazing. I got in the car and drove to the shop. She repeated some of the same information on the spot so I knew she really was for real. I had some tea in the shop, and it was delicious. I am on a fixed income and want to do everything I can do for my health. I bought 3 of the teas she talked about. I have been drinking them faithfully for almost 2 weeks and I feel alot better. I am so glad I found out about this place. I have sent several of my friends there as well. You have to check this place out...and ask the owner about the health benefits. You will be glad you did.

Thia and Chris have created something very special - I have to go at least 2 times a week or I start feeling like I am missing something. I also love the origami classes on Thursdays.

The Path of tea is fabulous - the teas are organic, fair trade, always fresh. Tea is served with ceremony and ritual...so much more than just a cup of tea. The environment is welcoming, friendly, and healing. The Path of Tea isn't just a tea shop with wonderful treats to eat; it's a place where you feel at home. I assure you that your experience will be wonderful and keep you coming back again and again.

What an amazing place! I love organic tea. I eat only organic food so I was happy to find this place. The shop is beautiful, and the restroom is the cleanist I have found in town. It is so clean you could have your tea in there...but don't because you might miss some of the cool people who come in to The Path of Tea. I get organic food next door at The Field of Greens and I eat it at The Path. I have tried about 50 of the teas and keep track of them in the shop journal of ""my teas"". I have met some incredible people there. It is my entertainment in these tighter times. It is great value.

I spent 4 years in Japan in the Navy. I had a favorite tea shop near my base. I loved it and loved Japanese tea.\r
I never thought I would find another place like it outside Japan. Imagine my surprise to stumble into The Path of Tea. It looks like a shop you would find in Japan. Wow...what a great selection of Japanese teas. I love their organic Genmaicha. Last week I went to a sushi making class with a master chef from Osaka. You can't get more authentic than that! They have over 145 organic teas but I have not made it out of the Japanese green tea section yet, but I am sure I will someday. What a great place...and in Houston, Texas.

My friend took me to The Path of Tea for my birthday. It was my favorite gift. We had a private tea tasting with 5 different kinds of teas; white, green, oolong, black, and rooibos. I learned so much and had so much fun! After learning how healthy organic tea is I will never go back to coffee. They brought a beautiful selection of desserts in a lovely Japanese bento box. The owner, Thia, also made an origami rose. It was so thoughtful. \r
\r
I am going to bring one of my other friends for her birthday because this is such a unique place.\r
\r
I bought several of the teas we tasted and now I can have the Path of Tea at home every day!\r
\r
This place is a piece of heaven. You just have to go there!

The path of tea helps you to experience Tao of tea in Japanese culture. I like the the decoration of the place, very neat and fragrant. Growing up drinking tea almost every day, I can tell that the tea leaves have high quality in The Path of Tea. It is very cultural and makes me feel home.

I have studied Japanese tea ceremony for years. This shop is a living example of it! They truly know what tea is all about...and believe me it is about more than just what is in your cup. You go in, they help you select your tea if you want, or you can go to the sniffing bar and explore. You get to pick your own lovely tea cup or bowl from a wonderful selection. The tea comes in a beautiful glowing pot...and they pour it for you when they deliever it. There is even a kimono hanging on the wall. If you close your eyes and listen to the lovely music and fountain you are transported to a different time. It is an experience not to be missed!\r
They have teas no one else in town has...and they know how to make them...perfectly.

If you haven't been to The Path of Tea...you have to go! There are other tea shops in town but there is no place like my Path! I love to meet friends there. The owners know so much about tea...and they are so happy to help anytime. I never knew organic tea was so much better. I joined the origami class on Thursday afternoons. I have made such good friends and feel it is much better for me than therapy! Every time I go in they have new teas...in addition to my old favorites. I have been to two tea tastings. They are so informative. I have never learned so much about tea in my life. They will be starting some new classes on Black tea soon and I can't wait. And...don't forget the treats! The lemon bars are awsome and so are the cup cakes.

I can't gush enough about this wonderful little tea house across West Alabama from Little Woodrow's. Any question you could possibly imagine about any kind of tea the staff here can answer for you. Even if you don't ask, they go out of their way to provide you with the information you did not even know you would need. On my third visit, I finally bought a bag of loose tea, and they made sure to write how long we needed to steep the tea for the perfect flavor before we could even ask. The employees are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they are attentive, genuine, and interested. They treat you like you're a long time customer the first time you walk in, regardless of how much or how little you know about tea, and have provided unfalteringly pleasant service each time I've returned. I never feel rushed, and always feel welcome, even if I intend to sit and sip for hours, or grab a big cup to go. The restrooms, tables, and floors are always very clean, and the shop is well-lit and comfortable. I never feel crowded at a table, even if the place is full. The consistent variety of patronage always provides little surprises for me. I've seen everything from soccer moms, architects, hippies, beatniks, high school students, River Oaks ladies, med students, soccer moms, undergrad students, middle-aged suburban women, etc., and I don't ever feel the least out of place or out of my element. A few possible explanations for such a wide variety of tea drinkers are the reasonable prices ($3 for a small (3-4 cups full), $5 for a large (6-7 cups full), and the vast selection of teas, all of which you can buy loose for anywhere from $6-$13 per 2 oz. Looking over the menu, smelling your tea, placing your order, and picking out a unique cup from a shelf of about 50 is an exceptional and personalized experience. All of the teas can be served warm, iced, or as a sort of slushie/frappucino drink at whim. There is no better tea house in Houston.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The Path of Tea.... That's the experience you will have just as you pass through the door of this wonderful Organic Tea Shop. I didn't know just how special it was until I found out it was the ONLY Organic Tea Shop in Houston, also the entire State of Texas and actually from what I've been told there are only 3 Totally Organic Tea Shops in the whole USA! And just think we have this one right here in our backyards, literally! This organic tea shop is centrally located in the heart of all that is cool in Houston. Whole Foods, Borders Bookstore, Mission Burrito, Field of Greens and of course The Path of TEA located between Kirby and Greenbriar right off W. Alabama. Oh and a real treat is to have your friends schedule Thia for one of her private and educational TEA TASTING Sessions. I had no idea it wasn't a good idea to store your tea in the refrigerator! I frequent the shop probably 4 times a week. Sometimes I'm admitting to twice a day. Yikes! My latte factor (financial reference) has turn into an Oolong Factor! Plum Oolong seems to be my current drink of choice, Hot or Cool it's definitely a treat for me. You've got to stop in to meet Thia and Chris. I'd like to say, thank you Thia and Chris for making us feel at home when we are sipping our organic tea in your shop. For as much love as you give to us, I know you must be receiving tons of love back in return. I Love, Love, Love this sanctuary - It's got to be the BEST LIL' TEA SHOP IN TEXAS! Ya gotta bring your money, cuz they don't accept chickens for tea there. :)

Cons: Sometimes your favorit cup is being used by another patron, or your favorite seat is already taken. But that's it!

i LOVE the path of tea. it's such a neat place. the owner is always there and is so knowledgeable about tea. recently they've started to add even more fun tea-based items like desserts and body products with tea. the smell of the place is great and the ambience is nice as well. i always feel ""special"" when i'm in there. there are tons of beautiful cups and tea pots. it's a great store for gifts for your favorite tea drinker. my personal favorite is the organic genmaicha. after you go loose tea, you can't go back . oh i have to mention the cupcakes...totally tasty! it's right next door to the field of greens (another winner) and if you order from the field of greens you can have you meal and your tea while sitting in the path of tea. perfect little spot for meeting a friend and enjoying a conversation over tea. overall a winner in my book!
