Nice place

by Nicole B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,025

I thought the food was very authentic, I had a platter that had alittle of eveything. The salsa was good and fresh. I wish the portions had been bigger for the price. Server was ok the place felt really dark the lighting could of been better, but over all it was an ok experiece.

Ricardo's

this is a pretty good mexican restaurant. Service was good, there was nothing to brag about here. Your typical mexican menu. Inexpensive compared to the rest of the strip.

Great Family Style Mexican Restaurant!

by samsara112

Ricardo's Mexican Restaurant has always been my favorite Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas. From the first moment you walk in, it's obvious that Ricardo's has a unique atmosphere with the various decorations on the wall as well as the uniforms worn by the staff. The ambiance sets the mood for a nice, casual evening with family and friends. The food itself tastes great and is offered at an amazing price point. When you're first seated, you're immediately given chips and salsa (two different types of salsa) and if you're not careful, you could fill up on those alone. The menu itself is extensive and it offers all typical Mexican entree items. I usually order the same menu item (carne asada tacos) and they are consistently delicious. I've been with several friends and family members over the years and they have always enjoyed their entrees as well. the portion sizes are enough for the largest of appetites and the food itself is always tasty.

Ricardo's even offers a unique bar dining experience where the booths are custom fitted with individual flat screen tv's. In addition to the full restaurant menu, you can even order happy hour menu items during applicable times. Be sure to try one of their margaritas as I can personally attest to how amazing they are!

Three years ago, I had Ricardo's cater my birthday party and I also had them cater a corporate event last year. Both times, I was extremely pleased with not only the food and the service, but also the fact that Ricardo's was priced better than many competing restaurants. Everyone enjoyed the food and I was pleased with the personal attention that the catering department gave to me in both situations.

Given today's economy, Ricardo's is an amazing find in that it offers great food at a great price. I would highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return again shortly.

Pros: Great Food, Great Price, Great Service

Cons: Absolutely None

Great Mexican food, great staff, will definitely be returning!

by jepayneiv

My friend and I stopped in for lunch at Ricardo's last Friday and couldn't be more pleased with the food and service. Started with chips and salsa, obviously. They have two different salsas; one is standard and the other uses roasted tomatoes which was awesome. I think we went though 2 or 3 bowls or the roasted tomato salsa. For the main dish I had the chicken enchiladas smothered with cheese and half red, half green sauce, the way I always order them at other places. They were more than willing to accommodate what my friend likes to call "a high maintenance" request. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the beans and rice were done exceptionally well. I forget the name of what my friend ordered, but it was basically a big mexican cheese pizza. The thing was huge and while I didn't have any of it, he said it was great too. As for drinks, we both had Carta Blanca's, something a surprising amount of places in town don't have. I've heard Ricardo's has amazing margarita's but I didn't get to them on this visit, but as we loved the food so much I can say we will definitely be back...especially since they are open until 6 am! Overall, a great family-run restaurant with good food. Lived in Vegas for 7 years now and I don't know how I made it this long with out eating there.

Pros: Great atmosphere, service and food

Cons: None that I could come up with

BEST margaritas and fried ice cream!!!

by sellfromvegas

My family has been going to Ricardo's since the first one opened in 1979 in the Meadows Mall. Our family has had many birthday and graduation dinners there, and my sister also had her rehearsal dinner there. The food is great, the staff is warm and friendly, and they even remember that we like to sit in Debbie's section when we come! : ) Best margaritas and fried ice cream in town!!!!

Pros: Great food and atmosphere

Cons: Not enough restaurants in town! ; )

Great Food, Great Ambiance Great Service

by ginasmith08

Love the Authentic Mexican Food, very relaxing from the welcome to the table to the serving and desert. What I especially liked at Ricardo's was the portion size, just enough to fill you up and not too much to waste. My waiter even took our left overs and without asking, went and made go to boxes. He even added some extra tortillas to our boxes. The service was always with a smile.

Pros: Authentic Mexican Food, Great Service

Cons: Hard to pull into parking lot and find space on Friday Night.

mexican food awfull, avoid at all cost

by texasfilly

Decided to try Ricardos after reading current reviews, and my experience was AWFULL!!! Lousy food, flautas tasted like they were fried in old oil and soggy...couldn't even eat them.... Ordered Don Julio margaritas and received I'm still not quite sure what they served us, tasted like cheap tequila blend.

Best Mexican

by chabes

It's a bit of a walk from the strip so if you're not from around town or don?t have a car, the bus or a cab would be the way to go. The service is friendly and welcoming. The margaritas are delicious and after drinking the first half I swore not to have another one because there is no way I could fit another in since they're pretty big, but when the waiter came around again and offered me another I couldn't help myself, they just tasted that good. Needless to say after the meal I couldn't finish the second and had to share it with my partner. I had the lunch fajita?s and they were amazing, everything is so fresh and tasty. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

Great place for a party!

by penmouse

I came to Ricardo's a few weeks ago for my moms 50th birthday party. We all had such a good time. The food was wonderful, the decor was true Mexican and the drinks were delicious. Thankfully, my mom had a very memorable birthday here and so did our family. This is a place we will come back to for a low key dinner with friends, or to celebrate a special occassion. Nice job Ricardo's!!!

Pros: Food, Service

Cons: A little noisy

Not great mexican, didn't really care for the salsa. Not authentic mexican, and very poorly done. Won't go back. Decor nice and they spent a lot of money on that, but they need better cooks. Service good. Drinks fine, I just was so turned off by the food everything else just didn't really register. Not memorable, won't return.

Pros: Service, staff, atmosphere

Cons: The food
