This place is delicious!! You can get a pizza slice the size of your head!! You definitely walk away full and satisfied! I agree with some of the other reviews about the service, but I still love the pizza! Worth going just for that! Try this place out!!

Bland food and too much of it. Not to mention rude employees who don't seem to care what you think. Place is so dark you have to wonder what they are trying to hide. Unless this is the only place open in West Seattle don't waste your time.

I'm glad, in a way, to know I'm not the only one who has experienced terrible service here. The pizza is AMAZING--and that is the ONLY reason I will return a few times a year. Almost everytime my husband and I have been there, the service has been terrible. We always end up waiting an insanely long time for a slice of pizza and a sald (nearly 45 mins. last time), and our server was barely seen--I had to ask her twice for a refill on my drink. I would hope that management is aware--sounds like its a pretty big issue--step up your game! This place could be twice as successful as it is with a step up in service.

I'm seriously still overwhelmed by "Biggest slice in the world" so much so that it's all I can think to say right now. The pro was how can you complain about a huge ass slice of pizza for only $6? The con came in that I wanted so badly to fold it (I'm from NY, we must fold our slices) and I did, but it was so big the end fell under the weight & I had to start with a fork (this is pizza sacrilege for us NY'ers).

I actually really liked the vibe of the place, it was very comfy and easy to talk amongst our large group (until exactly 9pm when the music was turned up to nightclub volume). The bar is pretty cool, it takes up about 1/3 of the whole place. Definitely wear your contacts if you want to get a good look at the dudes (or gals) across the bar, it's seriously far all the way to the other side.

Good pizza, great service, cool vibe, I'd be happy to go back.

I've been going to Talarico's since it opened. The service has sometimes been inconsistent, but the last few months I've seen some BIG improvements. The food quality is up and the crew seems better trained. It's my new old favorite place to hang.

Pros: Great Pizza and good pours

If you like hanging out in a dark and dingy room eating really bad pizza, served by really bad people, surrounded by really horrendous drunks, then this is your place. Not a place I'd ever bring my kids. The gimmick with the pizza is that it is large, so that is what people talk about, not the quality. Management seems to be asleep at this place. There's so many quality places in West Seattle, that it's easy to pass this place up.

We were recomended to Talarico's by a friend and were not disappointed.
Just like the other reviewers we loved the dim lighting and open fireplaces at tables.
It was extremely nice that they made our kids feel welcome too, and being a lounge we didnt feel the need to keep them quiet; which can be difficult at times.
There salad and artichoke dip were both fresh, delicious and equally pleasing to the eye.
We also had one of their seasonal unfiltered beers. I was surprised as I do not often like lighter beers, but it had the perfect balance of hops hops and smoothness.
As per our servers recomendation we did not order a full pizza (measuring 28" across) but opted for getting a a slice a piece. As I am bias to Waterfront pizza in port townsend. Their pizza was amazingly good with just the right combination of toppings and crust the was crisp but not overcooked.
we ended with their skillet cookie dessert which was served in a cast iron pan still sizzling hot when brought to the table and topped with a heaping scoop of vanilla icecream. Despite not heeding the servers warning we all burned ourselves on the pan as we were fighting for the last bites of the dessert.
Not only does Talarico's not disappoint with their food, I couldnt have asked for a better wait staff.

I have heard nothing but good things about Talarico's . So I go there to get some awesome pizza with a couple of buddies and once we took a step in the door, everything went wrong. I just turned 21 only a few months ago, so everywhere I go I want to get a beer. I still have a vertical license, and I got harassed by the waitress about it. Then when we go to order food, we all get a slice of pizza each(which are ginormous) and it takes nearly 45 minutes for us to get it. I mean, how hard is it to make 3 slices of pizza; and the place was only half full. I mean, the place wasn't even busy. I am very disappointed in this place and don't recommend. Horrible service!

Pizza is great here and you can order by the slice. So if you are in the mood for pepperoni and Hawaiian you can get one of each! Its dark and only for 21 and over crowd but they have a little stage and one weeknights have occasional shows that are fun to watch.

...this used to be one of the best places to hang out in WS but the last six months have been nothing but one painful experience after another...every time I go in there there is a sea of new faces working there and the service just gets worse and worse...my guess it was either an owner or a management change...but whatever it was it's not working at all...and what's this I hear about kids? They can kiss my entertainment dollars goodbye...

I was there on a Saturday night, my girlfriend and i were having a great time at first. Then we could't find our waiter. He started off giving great service then we didn't see him for awhile. No big deal I had cash so i went to the bar to order us more drinks. While i was at the bar there was our waiter TAKING A SHOT!!! What BS I was waiting for a drink and he was having one.
I still recommend Talaricos, but you might want to order a double or plan on a wait.

Pros: great pizza we really enjoyed the south street

A firplace in the middle of the resturant this place is very warm with it's dark high wooden booths and dim lighting it really gives you a sense of privacy. If you don't what a whole pizza order then order a slice it's "hugh" you walk away feeling like you've had a whole one. The serves are really good in recommending a good pizza and for the price of the slice it's worth it.

The rumor mill is churning a most disturbing one folks. Kids aloud in the bar until 9 PM. The coolness factor will dispurse and myself and my partner shall start taking our friends down the street to West Five. They still only cateer to the adult crowd and greed has not set hold of them. Talaricos is always packed with a great crowd and even better great food, drinks and bartenders. I hope the kids rumor is just that... a rumor, or I will have to day that all good things must come to a end.

I've been to Talarico's dozens of times and always experienced good service. The pizza is delicious and they poor a solid drink. The crowd is mixed with different ages and races, which makes for a great atmosphere. Their sports coverage is awesome.

Really good pizza.
maybe some more menu options? Went to go dancing and was told by the DJ they don't play any 'urban' music. I wasn't asking for Too Short. Come on???

Wish this place was still the old Chinese restaurant.

As far as restraurants go, the menu is very limited and every time I've been there (which is more than 1/2 dozen times), they are sold out several items. Not an imaginitve or expansive drink list either. I'd opt for Paggliacci's any day over the Talaricos pizza.

This would all be forgiveable if the service wasn't terrible. Yikes. Worst experienced in all of West Seattle-- slow, not trained or educated on food or beverage, and with an attitidue. I'd rather spend my money somewhere with a smile.

Before I start gushing about how much I love this place, I'll outline the only two "cons" I can think of; the din of conversation gets really loud during dinner (bad acoustics?), and you can't order "take out." It's a bar, so no kids allowed - and I even enjoy that on my free nights....but sometimes I really crave a slice of the "Tarentino" and have no means to satisfy! The food is always good and the drinks well poured. On my last visit I decided to be adventurous and try a different drink - I can't remember what it was, but I didn't like it - too sweet. The drink was as it was supposed to be, just not to my taste - I figured "oh well, now I know" and had no intention of not paying for it. But our server noticed I didn't drink it, and took it off our bill. That was a very nice surprise!

The only time that I'm ever in West Seattle is for business. So I'm there during the week and I can't say that I stay out past 8:30 to 9:00 pm. But one place I love in this town is Talaricos. I'm no expert on New York pizza but as far as pizza joints in the Northwest go, this place is terrific. Great place to grab a beer and enjoy a slice. There are many reports of this place having bad service but that has not been the case for me. Each time I've been there the service has been excellent. However, the thing that I always look for in a new place is the atmosphere. And this place's atmosphere fits it's style very well. Keep it up Talaricos!

Ok. I don't know about these other ppl that have been giving bad reviews. but i've been going to Talarico's for almost a yr now. I go just about every weekend with my friends and we always have a great time. We always have great service no matter whos section we sit in...Although we have our prefered section we sometimes get a different server. Even if we sit at the bar our experience is awesome. I would recomend it to anyone. I've even had my birthday there....and they treated me awesome...our server even sang me a birthday song. The food is awesome, the drinks are great!

I was so happy this past weekend. I tried to call to share my joy with the management but nobody answered the phone. The hostess sat us at the bar friday night. The bartender informed us about the specials and we tried the polenta. It was fantastic. She had mentioned that you guys were going to have specials every weekend. I'm looking forward to see whats next.

I came in last night for triva with some friends and had a great time!! The pizza was fabulous, as usual. And I'm surprised to see some of the other bad reviews. Our server was delightful, and funny. We'll be back next week. Keep up the good work. Kudos to the kitchen staff as well. We know you're working hard back there.

This was not my first time at Talaricos, and it won't be my last, but my last experience left much to be desired. My wife and I had friends in from the east coast and we wanted to take them to our favorite pizza place. Unfortunately, we were just sat in the wrong section. First off, our waitress' cellphone went off while she was taking our order. And after someone else had brought us our food and brought us more water our waitress was no where to be found. While waiting for her to return so we could order more drinks and possibly desert, our empty plates sat infront of us for about 15 minutes. We ended up going to the bar for more drinks and still, she was nowhere in sight. She reappeared a few minutes later to clear our plates and then just dropped our check down infront of us.
The next waitress that walked by, I had asked her to send over the manager. Much to our surprise, a few moments later our waitress appeared infront of our table to ask if there was anything she could help with. I was so embarrassed for her that I just handed her the check and said, "no."
I will return to Talaricos, because the food is that good. But I will be careful NEVER to sit in her section again.

We frequent Talarico's and think that everything, down to their huge East-Coast style pizzas, to their nightly entertainment like trivia on Wednesdays, live music on Thursdays (Johnny Smokes was AWESOME!) to their wonderful and consistent service is worth raving-for! Where in Seattle can you get slices of that magnitude and flavor for $3?!! Happy Hour Rules! My husband and I like to visit Saturdays for lunch... much more of a relaxed environment, a different menu to choose from including huge sandwiches, and the bartender that's always there is oh-so-friendly; service always with a smile! Sad to see such bad reviews on service, we hope you'll give them a try!!

Keep up the good work!!

This is a great place to set up camp and watch a game. An enormous slice of delicious pizza, a few beers (everything from great, though limited, tap choices to PBR tall boys) and some heavenly dessert later (try the towering tiramisu--your hips may regret it, but your mouth won't!) and you've had a great evening before you know it. The seating is fun, the many big-screen TVs are great and the service is friendly and helpful without being smothering or obnoxious. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

This is my first review- I notice though in general people are so quick to point out what is wrong versus what's right every single time. For every bad review I'm sure any place, especially Talaricos gets 10 good ones that don't end up on a reviewing site. As far as my experience it was great, the pizza was enormous!! There were three of us and we thought, what the heck we'll get a whole pie. Our waitress after confirming that we knew what were getting into, (i can just imagine if someone had ordered it without knowing...) actually looked delighted to take our picture once it was at the table, she even got on a chair! ha. We went when it was pretty busy and in my day I use to be in the industry so I like to watch waitstaff work and the tables afford you a pretty good view of what everyone is doing. Man where they running, but every time I saw my server she had a smile on her face, she left us alone the perfect amount of time, she entertained us the perfect amount of time and she apologized when the food was taking a little bit longer than usual. The pizza was yumdidilyumptious we were able to get half and half on the enourmous pie which was nice because I'm a vegatarian unlike my carnivor company. The only con I would have to say is they don't have mac n jacks or mannys on tap which seem to be a seattle staple. Otherwise I say Talaricos was awesome. Great food and awesome service. As advice to anyone- it's not a sentence when you sit down in a chair, feel free to tell someone when you're unhappy and more than likely they'll do a tap dance for you anywhere to make it better. People can't read your mind so don't expect them to.
We'll be back!!

We are regular Talarico's customers who will probably never return. We love Talarico's for their mediocre (but LARGE) pizza slices and fun atmosphere. Although the service is never great, tonight it was terrible. We showed up with a group of 10 and they were not able to accommodate a group of our size. This was totally acceptable, especially considering that we hadn't called ahead. we were seated at two tables and were treated as two separate parties. We were quite surprised at the end of the night when the two separate table were brought two separate bills that had a 19% automatic gratuity for large groups added. This seemed rather unbelievable since we were treated as two independent groups throughout our meal. As an added insult, our waitress forced a "special birthday drink" on the birthday girl, giving the impression that it would be gratis. We were quite surprised to see it snuck onto our bill at the end. Until tonight, we had always had a fairly positive experience at Talarico's. Hopefully our server was just a bad egg in an otherwise great establishment.

Pros: Fun atmosphere.

Cons: Sometimes bad service.

I love the pizza renaissance that's going on right now, but sometimes the cracker-crust, upscale offerings of Tutta Bella and Via Tribunali arenn't what you're in the mood for. When you're really hungry and not in the mood for fancy, expensive pizza, head to Talarico's for a GIANT and very satisfying slice of pizza. Contrary to what one reviewer wrote, this IS New York style pizza--thick but not deep-dish, with a crunchy yet chewy crust and tons of perfectly cooked toppings. This is pizza you'll come to crave. The restaurant itself is pretty cool--love the giant bar, which serves up some fantastic cocktails, and the oversized, comfy booths that all afford a great view of the rather enormous space. The service has been good all four times we've been, and this is a very relaxed and comfortable neighborhood joint where you'll feel welcome when you arrive and satisfied when you leave.

This is the first time i ever wrote a review of a resteraunt, or tipped less than 15%.

My wife and I went there to get some pizza and a starter. It went down hill from there.

We had the waitress who did not want to be there, working our table, and was just bleech. very snooty, and obviously did not want to serve us.

As far as food, the pizza is so-so, the slices are huge, but not NY style, just standard pizza ( I lived in NY for a while, as well as NJ and PA so i know real NY pizza!) might as well goto any local pizza place and get a whole pie for the price of 2 slices.

We found that even the bread had red pepper inside it (not on the menu) which was over powering to the point of instant heartburn. I realize that some people enjoy it, but any over powering spice such as pepper, chile powder ect should be on the menu. But as we were told that was our fault they did not print the menu correctly.

But as the waitress informed us, she doesn't eat the food there (we wont either from now on!), and later when she confirmed that there was red pepper in the bread she let us know that it was OUR fault for not asking if they put red pepper flakes in the bread, in the soup on the ice cream. Hence the 10% tip though i should have tipped nothing since she charged us for the bread...

Over all it was a so-so place, not worth the time. even if the bread was fit for human consumption, the pizza and the really snotty service made it a craptastic night.

Pros: big slices and salads

Cons: horrable service and badly written menu

Been there a couple of times...really, honestly great pizza..but unfortunately -- no matter how good --- the attitude from the hostess blew it. Saturday night --- I can see lots of tables from the door. We're there in jeans, NICE sweatshirts and we get the once up and down (stink eye) then "you can sit at the community table in the bar"... but we'd like to sit at a regular table...then no---in the bar. Hmmmmm all I can say is when did West Seattle get the attitude? NOT GOOD.

I've been to Talarico's twice. The food is great. The service is poor at best. Both nights I went, it wasn't very busy. It did however take 45 minutes to get food, and my group of four couldn't get drink refills to save our lives. One of my group even went to the bar to try and get a drink refill, and simply got told that they'd send our waitress over. We didn't see her for another 15 minutes. Even when the food arrived, we had to remind the server that they'd forgotten our salads. It's kinda sad that they've got the best pizza I've had in Seattle when the service is so abysmal. I won't be going back.

I was just here on Sunday night for date night and found the spot to be quiet and almost deserted. But then again, it was 6pm on a Sunday night...Anyway. The Boy and I grabbed a booth across the bar, with a view of the big screen TV which was showing the Sonics game. It didn't really distract us from the awesome exposed beams and old school golden chandeliers dotted around the place. The booth we were seated at had dark wood benches--very pub-ish, but a swanky pub at that. After ordering a hefewiezen and an amber ale, we decided to start with the meatballs. We got three HUGE chunks of meat smothered with sauce--just the way I like 'em. It came with 2 FABULOUSLY crunch & buttery garlic bread...I just wish there was an extra one for the last lone meatball. Our server was really cool...he seemed a little surprised when we told him we wanted to get an entire WestSide pizza. He almost laughed and told us that it was quite large and 2 full sized adults (I'm about the size of a 15 year old boy) wouldn't really be able to down an entire pie. So we opted for two slices of the pepperoni and cheese 'WestSide'--it was PERFECT. The sauce wasn't too tangy, in fact there wasn't really much of it dripping down the slice, the crust was golden and chewy, and the toppings were just right. Quite possibly the best pizza pie I've ever had. No Pagliacci or Mad Pizza for me...it's all about Talarico's!

Talarico's left me wanting more. I have to be honest I've never tried the food, but I did however watch one of my friends scarf down a mega slice of there pizza and she happens to be one of the pickiest eaters I know. The atmosphere is amazing and service superb. I had one of the most Johnny on the Spot servers I have ever had in my life. He was attentive and accurate with all of our orders and genuinely friendly. Talarico's drinks are mixed to perfection not to strong not to weak. There's nothing worse than when you go out with your friends on one of those budget nights when you have enoguh for maybe a few drink and you get served a minimal sized plastic cup overfilled with ice that last all of about 30 seconds anywhere form $6.00 to $8.00 and the ambiance is horrafying. When it comes to Nightlife Talarico's is the full meal deal. I can't wait to go back.

Sincerly,

I must say that I'm a bit surprised at some of the bad reviews of this fine establishment. I frequent Talaricos several times a week, not only because of the pizza, but because of the staff and the atmosphere. I try to sit in Sarah's section everytime because she is always friendly, funny, and truly genuine. I've never had a bad experience here. The pizza is not only large, but truly delicious. I feel as I'm treated as a friend here, not just a customer.

I was At Talaricos on a Friday night and I couldn't believe how busy they were. I was asked to sit at the bar while we wait for our table. The wait was long, but we didn't mind, the bar staff was great at keeping our drinks full. Plus, could you blame them for being busy...the pizza is delcious. Anyone who says its not; is missing there taste buds. Go back to pizza hut and leave the tables for us. Sorry if thats harsh, its just most people only come on city search to talk about one bad experience and always forget the 5 great ones.
Keep up the good work Talaricos we willl be back!!!

Well...if this is the best pizza West Seattle has to offer that's sad. While the decor is is nice, the pizza (at least the one i had) was uninspiring. I had an individual slice of the house 'special' "Ovio D'Aglio". While i'll acknowledge it was certainly LARGE and the crust was reasonably thin and crisp, it failed to deliver with respect to taste. The sauce was bland, thin, and lacked the subtleties found in the best pizza sauces. If you go at Happy Hour, at least you can get it for $3.00, which makes the disappointment a little more 'appetizing'. Oh - if you do go, stay away from the bar. We sat across from loud, obnoxious drunks which certaily didn't help matters. Maybe if they allowed kidz in the place it they'd be a little more discriminating about who they allow to hang out at the bar. As an ex-New Yorker who has certainly had his share of the best (and some of the worst) that burg has to offer - Talarico's pales in comparision. Overall rating - C -.

I used to work for a pizzeria (which shall remain nameless) and my boyfriend is from New York - I really think I'm a pretty good pie judge. Talarico's has the best pizza in Seattle, maybe in the entire Northwest, if I can make so bold a claim. I've been here more than a dozen times - I've had poor service once (and had an entire meal comped, including drinks!). The wait/bar staff is friendly, the atmosphere intimate and inviting, and all the food I've had is fantastic with incredibly reasonable prices - what more do you want in a restaurant? Maybe a happy hour - oh yeah, they have that too. If you're a West Seattle-ite and haven't been, shame on you. If you aren't from West Seattle, it's definitely worth crossing the bridge for.

I went to check this place out because I saw all the reviews from other east-coasters, and figured I'd give it a try. I've been jonesing for a meatball sub worth eating since I moved from Boston 8 years ago, and I figured if they're a real EC pizza joint they have to have a meatball sub. A few places make good pizza, but no one makes a real meatball sub. Turns out they only serve a meatball sub during lunch on the weekends, so I had pizza the first time, and it was f-in delicious. Knocks piecoras and hot mama's outa the water. I went back to try the sub, and not only was it a real sub with the best meatballs I've had in years, they had the Pats game on with sound! And there're like three people who work there from Boston, so I get to bullsh*t about the Sox, eat great food, and watch some sweet TVs. Feels like I'm right back at home. I live in Fremont, but I go out there at least once a week. My new favorite place.

I've been to this place a few times for drinks. Whether or not it's busy, it's practically impossible to get a drink. The bartenders that I have encountered are oblivious, slow and rude. I haven't had the food but friends have told me it's no good. The cool interior is worthless when the customer service eats it.

My husband lived in New York for several years and agrees that this is the best pizza he has ever had outside of New York. The few times I've visited New York, I have not been impressed with the pizza I've had -- in my opinion, this is better than any pizza I've ever had in New York and is far better than any pizza I've ever had in Seattle

We needed a place like this in West Seattle. It's grown up and metropolitan, but friendly and inexpensive. The drinks are good and creative, the pizza is solid and cheap. Mosey up to the bar or feel like a sophisticate at the tables- it's your choice. It's a solid, fun night out.

I love this place, I've lived in West Seattle for years and I've always loved the junction. Talarico's just makes it that much better. The pizza was HUGE and for $5 and some change I was full. The drinks were great, I highly recommend the dirty girl lemonade. A silly name but a good drink. Everytime I've been there the restaurant is full and full of life. If you plan on going to dinner on the weekend, you should make a reservation or expect a wait. We usually try and sit at the bar. The bartenders are usually really busy, but they always find time.

Talarico's is awsome! They have huge pizza by the slice that is to die for, and it's super cheap durring happy hour, only 3 or 4 bucks. The atmospher is great, they have a really nice fireplace. To top it all off, the barstaff is super friendly. One beautiful brunette behind the bar, with her big smile, deffinitely makes it easy on the eyes. Highly recommended! I know I'll be back.

Wow, I love this place. I've been looking for real pizza ever since I moved out here, and I've finally found it. And I don't have to listen to someone's kid scream while I eat it! Seriously, though, I just stopped in to look around, and ended up staying all night. The bar might be the most comfortable one I've ever sat at - great seats, and your knees have plenty of room underneath. The drinks were stiff, the pizza was wicked, the TVs are huge, and the bartender was hot. My only problem with the place is that they don't deliver ;)
