Scam, terrible service, empty promises, its all about sales they are ripping people off and providing substandard treatments. Just google american laser and read the reviews... even former and CURRENT employees are posting negative comments/feedback.

??I have been with American Laser Centers inSan Jose for 2 years and I have had great results with the hair removal. The staff has also been friendly, accommodating, and very professional. I would and do highly recommend them to anyone interested in hair removal and the other services they provide.

I was taking my mother to her doctor's office appointment when I stumbled upon American Laser Center which was on the same floor. I went in to get more information on the Photofacial procedure. I approached the front desk to see if I can get some literature and possibly schedule a consultation. The front desk receptionist informed me that it was the last day of their 25% off promotion on a photofacial package which normally costs $3,000.00. I asked her several questions on what Photofacial is and if it can remove my sunspots and acne scars. She answered my questions very generically and gave me literature to read. At that time, I did have a lot of makeup on to cover up my face. She did not even look at me closely and quickly said that it will help me rid of my facial blemishes. I then asked if I can schedule a more detailed consultation with an M.D. or R.N. to answer my questions about the risks/rewards of the procedure and to have my face more closely examined without makeup. Se rudely replied that she did give me a consultation and that should sign up today to take advantage of their special discount. I quickly thanked her and left very disappointed.

Why would I pay $2,250 ( includes 25% discount) to do a procedure I knew very litttle about? I expect to talk to a real professional who will examine my face closely and answer all my question/concerns before shelling out $2,250.00. I expected more from them than a pressured sales tactic. Even when I did laser eye surgery, I first consulted with the optometrist who spent 30 minutes with me answering all my questions and gave me a free eye exam to see if I was a good candidate. I paid $2,200 for my eye surgey and it was well worth it. I expected the same professional treatment with American Laser Centers. I was disappointed with their philosophy and how they treat potential clients.

I am glad I decided to go to Vienna Skin Clinic to get my photofacial done by an M.D. who only charges $980 for a package of five treatments and was very thorough with my consultation and did an excellent job. For those of you looking to do photofacial, please do not bother with American Laser Center.

I also reviewed this business on Yelp as well and gave it a one star rating. I was shortly contacted by new management at American Laser Center to ensure me that their management has changed and that they are dedicated to customer service. I really admire that effort and am changing my one star to three stars.

I got talked into a series of 6 treatments for laser hair removal. They guarantee no hair for up to 2 years after the last treatment. They've used a different laser machine each time I've gone in. I'm attempting to go in for my 4th treatment and they've canceled the appt. thus far. My last appt. was canceled twice and I had to make 3 phone calls into the office before I finally got in. The staff is getting worse. The RN who did my last treatment wore her bluetooth in case she got any phone calls. The receptionist at the time is very "self-aware". Overall they are overpriced...even though they offer their current clients a 40% Off special from time to time, it still ends up being 60%+ what competitors are listing.

Cons: parking, constant re-scheduling due to having to train their nurses

I found this place to be the biggest con. Read other American Laser Center reviews.
You have won $300 dollars and a free consult $100 .
Once your in, the high pressure sales technique starts, the package is about $2500 after discounts.
No guarantee that you will have better skin, no physician onsite, no RN licenses.
You literally have to make a decision the same day if you wan the package or you pay regular retail.
I am appalled that this office an run a high pressure technique and no credible references.

Do you research ...

1) Ensure a physician is onsite
2) Ensure the consult includes a deep consult, i.e. they touch your skin, they understand your skin type
3) Ensure they have done this specific procedure many, many, many, did I say many times.
4) Have you done it on my skin type? -- show me some photos of real people not models
5) Have you see any complications? If you've seen a complication, how do you treat it? Bottom line, where's the follow-up if there is a complication?"
6) Do you offer refunds - show me a contract with that.

"I would go to those facilities first, get the names of every health care provider there and what license they have," and then check for the California Medical Board. "Ask: `Is that person a physician, a physician's assistant, a registered nurse, a licensed vocational nurse?' I'd call those licensing entities, give the names of those individuals and check on their background. Make sure they don't have a disciplinary history that could raise some red flags."

Wish you well ....

When I went to the American Laser Center in San Jose, July '07, I was so impressed with the professionalism of the manager, Bonnie Whetstine & her staff. Besides being the most beautiful young lady I'd ever met, Bonnie was knowledgeable & pleasant to talk to. She did not "hard sell", & I did sign up for a package of photo facial & microdermabrasion treatments. The RN's were GREAT, the treatments were painless & I love the way my skin looks!
I highly recommend American Laser Centers & will continue my skin care treatments regularly.
