Message from Asian Mint

Asian Mint offers an entire array of Asian cuisine, specializing in Thai dishes, sushi and dessert. Asian Mint is a unique concept of an Asian-fusion restaurant--a chic restaurant and dessert bar in one. The comfortable, modern ambience includes free Wi-Fi and hospitable service. Our Asian-fusion themed menus feature farm-fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. Entrees are moderately portioned and priced for a satisfying, delicious meal. The dessert menu offers Western-fused favorites such as our famous Green Tea Ice Cream Cake, Jasmine Creme Brule and Orange Mandarin Cake. Top off your dinner and dessert with one of our gourmet Italian Illy coffee drinks, specially brewed on a handmade Salvatore coffee machine.

The Scene
An unassuming facade masks a Bauhaus fantasy--white Eames-like chairs, clear cylindrical lamps, and modernist paintings of mint leaves. Leather banquettes stretch along the wall and divide dining space from sushi bar. The sophisticated look is by no means sterile; Mint hums with the bustle of busy waitresses and happy eaters.

The Food
While the menu updates Thai food with an American twist, purists will not be disappointed. All the favorites are on the menu: pad thai, flat noodles with spicy peanut sauce, and pad kee mow, wok-tossed noodles with fried egg, meat, bell pepper and chili-basil sauce. The Mint platter is a sampling of Vietnamese spring rolls, vegetable egg rolls and satay. The tom kha coconut soup is a bowl of savory Thai spices, chicken, green onion and mushroom. Save room for the green-tea cake, an attractive layering of green-tea ice cream, sponge cake and whipped topping.

Key Points

  • $1 Sushi Mon-Tue after 5:30pm
  • Full bar, great wine & dessert
  • Sunday 1/2 Price Bottled Wines

The Inside Scoop

  1. When to Go - Sushi hours are Monday through Saturday from 5pm to close.
  2. The Extras - Mint is wired for Wi-Fi, so bring your laptop and settle down with a cup of Illy coffee.
  3. What to Drink - Try a sakejito, Mint's version of the Cuban mojito with sake substituting for rum.
  4. Save Money - Monday and Tuesday are $1 sushi nights ($10 minimum) from 5:30pm to close. Dine-in only.

FORGOT OUR FOOD..HORRIBLE SERVICE

by kathy l.

My boyfriend and I went to Mint because of coworkers telling me that they had great food. We went and it was empty so we thought 'great, we'll get good service'. We got our drinks ordered and served right away and placed orders for our food. Waited bout 10 minutes, still nothing. The waitresses come out from behind the back and they have a serving of food that they all sit down to share. Our waitress disappeared after that point. We waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing. So we decided to leave and asked for the check. We got the check and the entree that we ordered was on the tab. I told the waitress to take it off because we didn't receive our food. She looked at us and said 'you never got it?'. Our table was empty with only our cups....was she blind? She runs behind to the back yelling something in a foreign language. They took off the entree and we left. Horrible location, horrible service, unreasonable price. Don't go to this location!! It will be a waste of your time and money. You'll end up leaving in a bad mood.

BAD Attitude

by Anonymous

I and my girlfriend just went to have lunch at Asian Mint yesterday because my American friend recommended me as it's Thai restaurant and I am Thai. When I walked in the restaurant, it's very small inside and there were all American customers. The host showed a little bit bad attitude against us and completely ignored us. We waited for almost 5 minutes, the host came back and told us to wait to be seated. I waited about 10 minutes more and saw that there were several tables available but the host didn't call us. The host was talking to the customers and didn't care if we were waiting. So, we waited about 15 minutes to get the table. After we were seated, the waitress quickly came to ask for drinks with no smile and we told her our drinks. She quickly came back with drinks and asked for orders. We told her our orders and I asked her if she is Thai. She looked at me and nodded with no smile and walked away with bad attitude. I asked my girlfriend what was eating her or if I said something wrong. My girlfriend said the waitress seemed mad to be asked like that. I never talked to this waitress again and she talked to my girlfriend only. The foods tasted so so, not bad but quite expensive compared to other Thai restaurants with better taste and a little bit cheaper. I have been eating out at several Thai restaurants and Asian Mint is the second one that got bad attitude like this in the past 7 years. The first one is also small restaurant and the taste is worst than Asian Mint. I ordered Pad Thai for $11 with chicken. If you want to eat shrimp, it's $3 more. So, if you are Thai or Asian, I would not recommend this restaurant. They got bad attitude. Asian Mint is for American customers. I will never ever go back there again, completely nightmare to me. I will tell all of my friend about this. I don't want them to waste money with unpleasant services.

Great

by Veronica L. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 842

I found this in my Passbook (or whatever it is they are calling it these days) and my boyfriend and I went there not expecting much, but it was really actually very good. They also have a full bar and the atmosphere is very cool for an oriental restaurant. Check it out.

Great Food!

by Molly W.

Asian Mint is fabulous! We live right around the corner and stumbled upon it. Now we have introduced it to numerous friends and co-workers. Everyone loves it! I love everything from the dumplings to the sushi or sea bass. Even my 1 year old loves the satay and edamame.

My favorite Thai and Sushi hangout

by EatDallas

I love coming here for Lunch and Dinner. Their price point is so affordable and the value is amazing. Best Pad Thai in town, Pineapple Cashew Shrimp Fried Rice, Ginger Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Spicy Kung Pao oh so yummy! $6.50 martinis of the day, all day. $1 nigiri every Monday and Tuesday Night from 5:30pm-10pm with $2off all Sakes. Half priced bottled wines over $39 every Sunday, All Day! Gotta finish with the green tea cake or the sticky rice with coconut ice cream.

Pros: Pad Thai, $1 sushi, mango martini, greentea cake, stickyrice

it was not the best

by nic01312345

One day i went to asian mint to get some dinner.it was crowded with a bunch of americans. So the waitress took us to a table, got some drinks, and went straight to ordering. The server was disrespectful and didnt come to the table that many times when i needed something. so when we were done we asked for the check. Just when we were leaving we said "Thank You" but the server just walked away with no manners. I thought that i was not treated with any manners. So i will of course not go backto asian mint again.

Pros: It was clean

Cons: not treated well

Cute place, Good food, weird location.

by raspberryt

IThe location is about as random as it gets, in a shopping strip right off the highway next to an Office Depot, but once inside it has a fun, very green and trendy feel, without coming across as snobby or tacky. (I wouldn't recommend going there if you want privacy though, the tables are tiny and squeezed into the small space)

I started with a cup of Tom Ka soup, my favorite appetizer on a cold night, and while it was rich and had good flavor, it was not at all spicy like I expected it to be (and good Tom Ka always is), and the texture was a little thin and watery. But lots of chicken chunks and mushrooms, which is a good thing in my book.

I'm a huge fan of thai noodle dishes, so my friend and i ordered the Pad See Yew and the Pad Kee Mao, both with beef. The dishes are huge servings (although still a little overpriced at $11 each) and came with broad, flat noodles (that were a little overcooked, but still okay). The Pad See Yew had excellent flavor, very sweet and light, and I liked that it came with lots of big juicy broccoli heads and spinach leaves. I got the Pad Kee Mao medium spicy (which looking back i would have gone spicier, because they dont seem to make things very spicy at all for thai food) and it was good but mild compared to the same dish at other places. Not the best of either dish i've had but not disapointing either, and there were enough leftovers to take home for an entire other meal.

We finished with the Green Tea Cake, which was AMAZING. Layer after layer of cake, whipped cream icing, and green tea ice cream...it was so light and refreshing for a cake i couldn't believe it! Definitely the best thing i had all night.

Overall, the food was really good but not quite good enough to justify the high prices, the atmosphere was trendy and casual, and the service was friendly and prompt. If not for the weird location, i'd probably go back there with friends--they also serve sushi and have an extensive drink menu i'd love to try.

Pros: buzzing atmosphere, big portions, extensive menu, great desserts

Cons: bad location, small space

delicious and FLAVORFUL dishes

by meemz85

I've been to a LOT of thai restaurants in LA and Dallas, but so far this one's my fave. Their dishes are so flavorful while other thai restaurants' pad see ew or pad thai are kind of bland. Their dishes are generally big portioned too. The only thing that irked me is that their spring roll did not have any meat or seafood in it. It was just lettuce and carrots or whatever else they put in it. Also Asian Mint is really pricey so its definitely worth it if you have a coupon.

Pros: tasty fresh food

Cons: pricey

Great find

by fireman77

I did not have reservations and was seated immediately. The ambience is very metro-sheek. We ordered the crab fried rice...it was awesome, not expecting a whole soft shell crab AND crab meat in the rice. Also had the Asian mint roll. At first doesn't look so good but it is deep fried, what's not to love about that? The flavor of the mango sauce and seaweed texture wrapped in the spicey tuna was to die for. All in all, it was a great experience. The lychee sake wasn't too shabby either...better served cold.

Pros: Mango Martini's, fried roll, fried crab, fried rice

Cons: Rent-A-Cop in parking lot packing a pistol just to show his brute force, but was forgotten when I tasted crab

Fab Thai!

by MaryAnnThompsonFrenk

My husband and I adore asian mint for its Thai food!

The Green Basil Fried Rice is to die for and the Tom Ka Gai is some of the best we have tasted anywhere in the world (and we've been blessed to try it in some of the best Thai spots around!) Not to mention the owner's own special fusion dessert recipees: Don't leave without the Green Tea cake or the Orange Mandarin Cake! No one else is offering fusion desserts, so its a truly unique direction that we hope the owner/pastry chef will continue to expand and expore! Also, they get the Thai iced tea RIGHT ...its creamy and refreshing, but not too strong, too weak, or too sweet.

Lastly, I'd like to address the comments made earlier about those who felt asian mint prefers white customers: I'm not white and I've always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity anyone could possibly offer to a customer. I have many friends of every race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and culture you could imagine, and everyone who has had the pleasure of eating at Asian Mint reports on the heavenly service and fantasitc food. Its a very popular place, so be prepared to wait as not too many places are open late at night, but I garauntee that it will be worth the wait every time!

Pros: Divine Thai, incredible fusion desserts, chic atmosphere

Cons: Not any, unless you mind waiting during late at night when its truly "happening"

Best Thai in north Texas

by JoshuaFrenk

I cannot reccomend this place enough. My wife and I try and eat here once or week or so and never seem to get tired of the amazing green basil fried rice which we so often order. Personally, I couldn't tell you if the sushi is good or not as there are so many sushi restaurants in town that we focus on the Thai when dining here. Furthermore, the service is always as friendly as it gets. I don't know where the heck other idiot reviewers are getting the idea that certain races get preferential treatment. The owner and much of the staff are Asian, I'm white, my wife is Hispanic, and we have friends who have eaten here of every race, creed, color, whatever who have never had anything but glowing remarks about the place. Go figure. On a side note, expect a little bit of a wait at peak hours on weekends. But, as they say, that's a pretty good indicator or a restaurant. Especially one that's still packing them in after three years.

by paul009

I feel exactly the same with your comment my friend .I went there one and going to be my first and last .I feel like they intent only to service white American peoples more than another race .I wait to be seat for nearly 20 minutes but then white American couple come after me the waitress seat them before me I am very upset and ask for explanation from that waitress and she said that couple came before me when I hear that I just walk out from that restaurant and never be back there again

Fresh sushi but not really a sushi bar. The service is terrible.

by grantmnelson_kc

Okay, I travel all over for my job and I always check Citysearch for sushi restaurants when I go to a particular city (I admit, I'm a sushi snob.). Generally, I've had good luck with most of the site's recommendations but I absolutely must disagree with this one.

On the upside, the dollar sushi night is pretty good but be aware there is a $10 minimum. The portions for the dollar sushi menu are incredibly small and the plate appeared way too quickly suggesting that the sushi was actually pre-prepared. I will say, however, that the fish was delicious - especially the yellowtail (which was as good as I've tasted anywhere).

Ah, but here is where my story takes an unfortunate turn...

When I travel, I usually end up eating dinner by myself and I typically eat at the SUSHI BAR. That way, I can converse with the chef, buy him a sake or two, and so on. Asian Mint does have seating at the bar but the sushi is prepared in the kitchen, out of sight of the patrons. That was the first bummer.

The second bummer was the really, REALLY bad service.

I was seated promptly - at the not-sushi bar - and ordered a Sapporo. I got my beer fairly quickly but then my waitress did a disappearing act. I had to wait and wait and wait for a different waitress to come by and ask if I had been helped. I ordered some edamame and some $1 sushi. When I didn't have enough sushi checked on my order to meet the $10 minimum requirement, the waitress rudely pointed at my order and said, "$10 minimum." Okaaaay... So, I added a couple more pieces of sushi to get it to $10.

Within about 3 minutes, the sushi was basically thrown on the counter in front of me. By this time, I had finished my first beer and my glass sat empty. Luckily, there was a woman behind the bar who had access to the Sapporo and I was able to wave her down for a fresh one. I never did get my edamame. Man, oh man.

Bottom line: decent fish but the service ruined the experience. I will never go back.

NO ONE in this town who does it better.

by boopshki

My husband and I have been coming to Asian Mint since Nikki opened the door. the food quality and service have NEVER let us down. The spring rolls with shrimp are always fresh and dare I express my total joy when I spy my soft shell crab appitizer coming towards my table being carried by an always smiling wait staff? My husband and son swear by the yellow curry. Also the salon entree is wonderful. The bottom line is Asian Mint deserves to ALWAYS be at the top of the list. Oh, did I mention the Sake-Hitos? Or the Asian Sun, two fantastic drinks sure to put a smile on the cocktail hour face.

Pros: fresh and tasty food

Cons: get there ahead of the eating prime time for lunch or dinner or be prepared to wait for a table, BUT the wait is well worth the time spent visiting with friends before your table is ready

What a terrific place!
This place has great staff and excellent food!
> We were a large crowed (and in some cases demanding) and
our waitress was able to handle everyone with grace and
> professionalism! In a town full of great restaurants
> the level of service goes a long way in keeping
> customers coming back and creating that memorable
> night out! A true differentiator. I have already shared this story with many
> of my friends that have never been to this restaurant
> and they are now planning to visit for the first time.
>And don't forget the deserts. The green tea ice cream cake is my favorite! But a close second is the unusually green sticky rice desert. It was sweet with just a hint of toasted sesame....
>A must try!

Best sushi, Thai food and dessert!! Friendly staff, prompt service

by juliehappyindallas

If you want to find a place for a good Thai or Thai fusion food, you shouldn?t miss this place - ASIAN Mint! I love Pad Thai. I try every place that has Pad Thai. There are 4 different Pad Thai offered in the menu. Luckily, we had a big group - big enough to order a lot of dishes to try. We ordered classic Pad Thai and Crispy Pad Thai (it?s crispy fried wonton pad thai!!). It?s very yummy! Pad See Ew is the other perfect dish ? yummy big flat noodle in brown sauce with broccoli and bok choi. The noodle is a little sweet which is just right for me.

Sushi is a must-have thing!!! Asian Mint Roll and Yellowtail in Heaven Roll are incredible. If you love sashimi, try this one. The Asian Mint Roll is like sashimi salad in a roll with a tangy, ponzu-like sauce. Yellowtail in Heaven Roll is a fried sushi. It?s spicy and yummy. Our wait staff is nice and friendly. She is knowledgeable about the menu. she will be recommending you which dish you should get if you like something spicy or healthy.

Don?t forget to save extra room for dessert. Try this ... Sticky Rice with Green Tea Ice cream. It?s fabulous.

Pros: Perfect place for Sushi, Thai food. Yummy Dessert

Cons: Long wait sometimes (during Fri and Sat)

Hip and cool and Tasty too!

by wolfevideo

If you like royal thai, Chow Thai, or bangkok city you have got to try the best? ASIAN MINT! They have amazing tasty dishes. The spring rolls were so pretty I just wanted to look at them for a moment before biting into the freshest most ingenious flavors in a spring roll. The atmosphere is unlike most Thai restaurants that are dark and muted. This place is live and hip, with cool colors and bright green accents. They specialize in crazy twisted drinks and have a fantastic happy hour. If you are hip and cool, this is a place for you. If you are not but LOVE GREAT THAI, maybe a little hip will rub off on you ( big smile) seriously, take a trip to this location. They haven?t franchised yet, but should! Move over Pei wei?try a fresh tasty alternative to Chinese or Japanese . There is a new hip kid in town!

Pros: great desserts too

Cons: tucked in on 75 and forest......

Wow WHAT AN AMAZING DESSERT!

by wendyyork

Amazing Pad Thai, fantastic summer rolls and hands down a ?I?m not worthy? dessert! !! I must say though that the dessert was out of this world! I had the Orange Mandarin Cake topped with pineapple whipped cream icing and it was euphoric! I am serious, I have never ever had a dessert like this. The owners background is a pastry chef so if you are looking for an amazing culinary experience in an unexpected place, this is it. Casual and clean lines this restaurant is perfect for a first date or casual date. The food is excellent and the service speedy and polite. I really can?t say enough about the desserts though. Even if you are full to the brim, order a dessert to go?.She needs to open up a patisserie!

Pros: GREAT PRICE, SERVICE AND DESSERT!

Cons: A little hard to find, it's on the SW side of forest/ and 75

Awesome Food and Environment!!!!

by angeltien

nikky,

i would like to tell you that the food that you guys serve is awesome! we've been there two times and you guys haven't fail us! we had your crabby cakes, which my sisters and i love, esp. that house cucumber sauce that goes with it. The Crispy Pad Thai was so much fun to eat with each crispy wonton strips munching in our mouths. Although, the Pad Kee Mow and the Pad See Lew are two different noodle dishes with distinct seasoning, they were both very satisfying! We also had your Thai Red Curry and your Yellow Curry. We absolutely love both of it. The spices and the flavors were just right to the tongue. Now the desserts, we had a slice of your Refreshing Orange Mandarin Cake topped w/ pineapple whipped cream icing. It was definitely refreshing, but your Jasmine Creme Brulee topped everything. We thought it'll be another creme brulee like any other creme brulee, but your Jasmine Creme Brulee definitely proved us wrong. The Jasmine flavor that top the creme brulee was so soothing that I still can taste the flavor on my palate.

Thank you for an awesome experience. I definitely would recommend your restaurant a place to go!

Pros: You don't want any food, definitely try the dessert!

Cons: Be expecting little close confort in the restaurant. just for the fact that restaurant is small; however, it does have a nice atmosphere.

Some of the finest cuisine in the USA - Awesome Sushi

by fine_dining_enthusiast

Dear Nikky ?
Your restaurant provides my family and friends with some of the finest dining available anywhere. I am always excited to expose new friends to your cuisine. One of our hobbies is fine dining and I can honestly say from Picasso at Bellagio to Sushi with Jimbo at Las Vegas? finest Sushi Bar ?Sushi House Manda?, to Dallas? finest restaurants, Asian Mint is currently my favorite overall. Your creative top end Sushi rolls are the finest that I know of. The Dallas Roll, Yellow tail in Heaven, and your new Spicy Tuna with Seaweed Salad are just fabulous! Any of your other sushi choices are noticeably superior to just about any other Sushi I know of anywhere. Then there is the Thai Beef Salad that originally brought us to your restaurant. I love it! I just can?t thank you enough for the wonderful experiences we have with every visit. Your restaurant is without hesitation deserving of a 5 star rating in food quality and service. I just hope that with your growing fan base that you don?t loose the magic. Congratulations for becoming one of Dallas? best kept secrets.

We wish you the best continuing success.

look nice , but not the best thai food are service

by pkham75

I was out there at Asian Mint for lunch with a friend around noon.
Long wait to be seated and long wait for our food. Service was slow and inattentive.
Hoping the food would be worth the way but no. It was more Americanize then authentic.
Slow to refill our ice tea drinks and bring our check. Use to live in L.A. were there are a lot of good authentic Thai restaurant but Asian Mint just isn?t one of them.

Best in the immediate area. We like the food better at Peiwei, but decor is nicer at Mint which is unique.

by neoncandle

The food was good, just read the menu carefully to see how they have made each dish unique. We haven't had desert yet, which is one of their specialties, so haven't seen the strength of the place yet. Seems rather average to me after a couple of visits. The dining area is small and feels cramped. Best asian place in the immediate area that we have found. We went there for lunch one time and the manager talked loudly on the phone the whole time in the dining room. It was rather unprofessional, and distracting, since we were nearby.

Pros: Food good.

Cons: Dining room cramped.

ladies choice

by 2ndthursdys

My girlfriends and I try a new restaurant for our monthly ladies night, today we tried Asian Mint; AMAZING. Each of us gave the restaurant 4 stars. The service was incredible with a wonderful, and happy staff and they didn't hover. The menu carries a large variety, which in my case proved to be not so great because i spent 1hr reviewing the menu and all i ended up with was red curry, boooooooooring!!! but it was yummy all the same. However, my girlfriends were adventurous and some ordered the pineapple, shrimp fried rice, AWESOME. Also if you want to try a delightful dessert try the green tea cake, it's very light and won't leave you on a sugar high. Also the price was pretty reasonable, some had a drink, appetizer, entree, dessert and the price was $30.

Pros: everything

Cons: none

I frequent this restaurant a lot because they have really good food and good service. I have tried several things off the menu (crab fried rice, pad thai, tom yum soup, salad, etc..) and have never been dissapointed! Can't go wrong when ordering~ the chocolate brownie with green tea icecream is the best!

Pros: friendly staff, delicious food

Okay sushi, I guess

by lindsaybee1

A group of us went here for the $1 sushi night. The pieces they serve for $1 night are pretty small, so we ended up spending as much or more than we would have otherwise. I just tell you this so that you can feel free to go ANY night; don't go for the specials. The sushi itself was pretty good, though; we liked it. My only complaint was that the "vegetable rolls" appetizer had chicken in it (not listed on the menu), which was kind of upsetting since I don't eat chicken.

Good for Dallas, but not great overall.

by 23fengshui

I have to agree with j_smile, hcflowers and the editors -- it's not authentic Thai at all. Very Americanized, i.e., sweetened up and lacking the spices. No different than PF Chang's for Chinese. That being said, it's still pretty good for what it is so I don't really mind that it's not authentic. Just please save the superlatives ("the BEST Thai in the world!!!") for informed opinions.

I doubt Dallasites can handle real Thai food, anyway, which is spicy enough to make your earwax melt. This is safe, predictable fare.

Pros: Tasty, safe choice; attentive service.

Cons: Thai-lite for the masses; just like La Madeleine (Ameri-French) and PF Chang's (Ameri-Chinese).

Tried this place twice. Both times have failed to meet my expectations. The 1st time, I ordered the radnah entree. It was way too soupy!! The 2nd time, I ordered sushi. It tasted like it had been prepared days ago, and wasnt fresh at all. Plus the sushi chef weren't even in sight; so we assumed they were in the kitchen. What does that say about that?! The food is Americanized, so being Asian myself, don't expect to get a taste of the traditional. It's a nice trendy place, but go elsewhere for the food.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Food too bland, service was unattentive

There is Nothing Better

by tbecs

I had a business dinner here a few weeks back. Everything was to die for. The sushi and sashimi were incredible, my mouth is still watering. The drinks are one of a kind and spectacular. If you get anything make sure it is the house specialty, trust me you wont go wrong. Finally the best dessert going anywhere in the world bar none. Green tea cake is scrumtrulesent. I do not think I can even go to another restaurant anymore and have Thai or Sushi, it just wont be the same. Futher more the atmosphere is clean and peaceful, the staff and host are truly wonderful. Asian Mint is THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

Pros: Absolutely Everything.

Cons: Asian Mint is not in every town in America

What does $1 get you?

by tiffywynne

I have been going to this restaurant on $1 sushi night since it opened about a year ago and always walked away pleased, but last night I was really disappointed. The place has gotten really tight-fisted with their fish! I couldn't believe the super-mini-sushi portions I got! What a jip! I won't be back.

Pros: small restaurant

Cons: most of the waitresses hardly speak english

Best thai in texas!

by westonmiller

This is by far one of the best restaurants I have visited since I left Singapore. If you do nothing else while you are in Dallas, make sure you visit the Asian Mint! The sushi is perfect, and the Pad Thai is to die for! My personal favorite here is the Krapao Salmon. The staff are also courteous and there is a very high appeal from any restaurant where the owners try to get to know all of their regulars. A+++

Pros: Food, Service, Ambience... The Mint lacks in none of these things.

Cons: None so far!

Mint condition cuisine!

by ice1234

Mint is not only a gem of a restuaunt, but also a haven for delicious asian inspired dishes. We have been dining there for over a year, and the service, food and ambience is more than we could have ever hoped for! All the friends we have shared this resturaunt with loved is as much as we did and came back for more. My favorite dish is the yummy Pad Kei Mow Woon Sen - a delicous and light rice noodle dish with tomatos, basil and green peppers (I get it with beef or tofu depending on my mood). Also, my husband will do backflips for thier Pad Thai or the Orange Chicken (crispy and delicous!) And don't forget the green tea ice cream cake. I think I'll swing by tonight and have a slice - now that I mention it!

Pros: Food

Cons: none that I can think

Great food, poor service

by tpv

Wait staff needs to learn 1) not to serve cold coffee and 2) not serve cold coffee a second time and 3) not serve cold coffee a third time. If the coffee was cold initially, heat it up before bringing the 2nd cup; Neither my date or I will not have developed a liking for cold coffee after the first serving. Felt somewhat rushed through the meal. I can not remember the last time I left a dollar for a tip but the service was truly that bad.

Great food, excellent food, can't say enough about the food. Ambience is great. Probably won't go back again due to the service. Pity as the food is exceptionally good

Great Food!

by karynn19

Amazing! Everything we had was perfect! We had to wait a little while to get a big enough table for our group, but by the end of the meal, no one cared. We each tried something different off the menu and a few of the desserts. I'm going back!

No Reservations on the weekend

by lockece

I was floored when I could not make reservations for a Friday night. I realize that the restaurant wants to have a line so they look super busy and therefore encourages others to come, but there is something to be said for a restaurant that will take your name early on a Friday. I don't want to spend all my Friday evening waiting for decent sushi.

NOT FOR THE WELL TRAVELED CONSUMER

by hcflowers

This restaurant has gotten good reviews, but obviously not from people who have traveled to countries where the foods originated. After living in Asia for years, we were very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. There are many other good Asian and Thai Restaurant in Dallas.

Save you time and money and don't go to this restaurant.

The Perfect Place To Eat Away From Home

by lee75230

All my senses come alive when I walk into the Mint. The Mint people are fabulous, the food is always satisfying, the atmosphere is uplifting, and the martinis are addictive. Maybe that explains why me and some of my friends dine there a minimum of three nights a week.

Pros: Martinis, Food, Hospitality

BEST THAI FOOD EVER!

by easdav0108

I love Asian Mint since it brings me back to the Thailand culture. The staff is Thai, the food is Thai and the ambiance is so soothing and relaxing as in Thailand. My favorite dish so far is the noodles with chicken. Too die for! Asian Mint offers the best martini ever! I would definitely take a first and second and third date there. I would take my family to celebrate a special event. Asian Mint is perfect for all types of situations and daily lunch and dinner all year round. I love Asian Mint. I plan to return each week.

Pros: sushi, martini, atmosphere

Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a

Very comfortable dinning experience

by rpickens

I like the look and feel of this small but energetic cafe. The sushi is great and so is the sakejito. The soft shell crab is a tasty appetizer too.

Sushi isn't Sushi unless its Asian Mint Sushi

by beckett74

Best california rolls I have ever tried. I like to think of my self as a sushi Connoisseur and I was blown away by how incredible my meal was there. Your missing out if you go to any other restaurant. Actually your missing out if you go to Thailand itself for sushi. This place has perfected it worldwide. I would pay any amount in the world to leanr how to cook the way they do. Its just plain not fair to be that unbelievable in making sushi.
