What drew me to Asian Mint? Yup, I was looking for a good and authentic Chinese place and low-and-behold this Thai/sushi? place came up. I was going to 'go back' when I got to the $1.00 sushi on Monday and Tuesday nights. $1.00 sushi?

I love Asian Mint. It is my favorite restaurant. I go there 2 or 3 times a week. Their Pad Thai is so good. They also have the best sushi. Especially, on Monday and Tueday, they have $1 sushi night. Restaurant is usually busy. You might have to wait for your table, but it worth it!

Asian mint and The mint are best Thai food I ever have. I love everything on the manu, start with the mint plater is a great combination of their appertizer along with Spicy Tom yum soup that have a great smell of lemon grass. Steam sea bass is the dish that everyone shouldn't miss. I also like their "green tea martini" smooth drink for my spicy dishes. End up with a fastastic mango sticky rice. Try them out, you won't dissappoint it!

This is my favorite restaurant! I've always had a good time at Asian Mint. My friends and I go there 2-3 times a week. The Pad thai is great, the Steamed sea bass is wonderful, the Soft shell crab with the spicy mayo rocks, and the Orange cake is awesome! The specials are always good. There is a nice bar to sit and have drinks. They are just right about everything! Definitely worth a visit!

You would think that $1 is not so good sushi, but at asian mint, you are missing out thinking that. $1 nigiri every monday and tuesday nights are the best deal in town and even $2 off all sakes. a group of us meet up and hang out and spend very little for great quality sushi. you gotta try it. the restaurant is kinda hard to see. it's across forest lane from medical city and behind schlotsky's deli. next to office depot with a green and white sign with circles. kumpai!

I am asian mint's biggest fan! what can i say. everything is so good. the quality, quantity, value, atmosphere, and service is a great combination. consistantcy is what i crave and they deliver. i do cut them some slack when they are busy, they are only human too. but they live up to their standards. been eating here for 5 years you should get to know the staff. pad thai is what i recommend for first timers or fried rice if you are new to thai. then you can move on to the seabass and pad kee mow. asian mint is not authentic thai and they don't claim to be. you can always ask for hot sauce if you need to heat or try their version of the kung pao chicken. soft shell crab appetizer is to die for. always finish with dessert...try them all. martinis are great and fruity like the mangotini. please go try them..;)

This has got to be the best Asian fusion restaurant in the Metroplex hands down. Been here many many times, and its always great! I dont know what that guy was talking about, how the appetizers always comes at the same time as the entree, because that has never happened to me at this restaurant. Cant believe people would dare write a bad review and really dont know what they are talking about. Its ASIAN FOOD not Italian first of all. lol Holy Moly people! Anyways, if you want good food, drinks, desserts, and sushi then try them out, you wont be dissapointed!

Been here many times. The food is really good. You will not be disappointed. Word to the wise...hold off ordering the entree until the appetizer arrives. Otherwise, they will both arrive at the same time (common theme with both restaurants).

That being said...really annoyed that The Mint and the Asian Mint are stacking the deck "The Best of Citysearch" vote. Seriously, The Mint Asian...is one of "The Best Italian Food" nominees. And have 17% of the vote.

I'm calling "Shenanigans".

My wife and I love the Asian Mint. It's easy to get to, easy to find parking, and we love the contemporary, somewhat retro green-and-white decor. It's a small place, often with a wait, but worth it. There's a small bar as soon as you walk in, a good place to have a drink while you wait. But what about the food? It's consistently excellent. I get something different each time, but usually stick to the noodle dishes. Very reasonably priced and a cut above most Thai and Asian restaurants around here. Don't miss the green-tea cake! I mean it!

Asian Mint definitely tops my list of favorite Thai places in Dallas. Huge portions (pad thai feeds 2-3), bold, authentic flavors (medium spicy is actually medium spicy!!) and reasonable prices ($8-12 for most family style portions) makes this spot one of our go-to's for Thai.

Although Thai restaurants are popping up all over the Metroplex...there is none uniquely wonderful as the Asian Mint!! Without question its sister location, "The Mint" are truly a wonderful experience. From the moment you enter the door, the staff is consistently warm and friendly.

Their menu items are flavorful and as well ALWAYS consistent. The menu is so appetizing that I the unadventurous seeks out to try new items from time to time. The portions are more than generous.

My favorite items are the crispy fried spring rolls, Pad Ke Maw...and the MOST AWESOME DESSERT IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD is the green tea cake!!! SUPER FANTASTIC!!

From my perspective the restaurant is moderately priced. Having visited since its opening, I note it is not uncommon and in fact a special touch to see the young owner (and her Mother) with a hands on impact to the location's success.

The environment is unassuming from the exterior but chic and cozy inside. Rushes can occur at lunch and in the 6-8 hour as the weekend approaches.

I recommend Asian Mint without hesitation!!

Great quality Thai food at reasonalbe prices! Don't let the shopping center location fool you. This place is so cool & comfortable --you relax the minute you open the door. They have the best Pad Thai in Dallas & if you are watching your carbs ---go for the Pad Thai no sen --no noodles --but you won't miss them in this great dish. My husband loves the Sliced beef thai salad.

A few years ago, we had on in the background the show of the immortal Glenn Mitchell on 90.1 KERA when he had his periodic restaurant reviewer special.

In additon to the Greenwood Grocery Store, one place that the reviewers were unanimous in raving about was this place called Asia Mint, across from Med City Hospital on Forest Lane at Central Expressway.

My wife and I went there that evening for dinner after the rave review and had one of the best meals we have every had.

Young Nikky ( many, many syllables ) was there, beaming at all the new customers who were coming for the first time to her immaculate, brighty docorated in greens and whites really great Thai restaurant.

Since then, we have been back over a hundred times, frequently with out of town guests, and have always had an outstanding meal.

One nice thing about the Asia Mint that we like: there is never a fight to get a parking place.

We have found that Nikky can ba counted upon to always deliver a really great meal.

Every time that we go there, I always think of the late and great Glenn Mitchell and how much he added to the qualaity of life in Dallas, especially when he and his restaurant reviewers brought us awareness of the Asia Mint.

One day i went to asian mint to get some dinner.it was crowded with a bunch of americans. So the waitress took us to a table, got some drinks, and went straight to ordering. The server was disrespectful and didnt come to the table that many times when i needed something. so when we were done we asked for the check. Just when we were leaving we said "Thank You" but the server just walked away with no manners. I thought that i was not treated with any manners. So i will of course not go backto asian mint again.

My boyfriend and I went to Mint because of coworkers telling me that they had great food. We went and it was empty so we thought 'great, we'll get good service'. We got our drinks ordered and served right away and placed orders for our food. Waited bout 10 minutes, still nothing. The waitresses come out from behind the back and they have a serving of food that they all sit down to share. Our waitress disappeared after that point. We waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing. So we decided to leave and asked for the check. We got the check and the entree that we ordered was on the tab. I told the waitress to take it off because we didn't receive our food. She looked at us and said 'you never got it?'. Our table was empty with only our cups....was she blind? She runs behind to the back yelling something in a foreign language. They took off the entree and we left. Horrible location, horrible service, unreasonable price. Don't go to this location!! It will be a waste of your time and money. You'll end up leaving in a bad mood.

IThe location is about as random as it gets, in a shopping strip right off the highway next to an Office Depot, but once inside it has a fun, very green and trendy feel, without coming across as snobby or tacky. (I wouldn't recommend going there if you want privacy though, the tables are tiny and squeezed into the small space)

I started with a cup of Tom Ka soup, my favorite appetizer on a cold night, and while it was rich and had good flavor, it was not at all spicy like I expected it to be (and good Tom Ka always is), and the texture was a little thin and watery. But lots of chicken chunks and mushrooms, which is a good thing in my book.

I'm a huge fan of thai noodle dishes, so my friend and i ordered the Pad See Yew and the Pad Kee Mao, both with beef. The dishes are huge servings (although still a little overpriced at $11 each) and came with broad, flat noodles (that were a little overcooked, but still okay). The Pad See Yew had excellent flavor, very sweet and light, and I liked that it came with lots of big juicy broccoli heads and spinach leaves. I got the Pad Kee Mao medium spicy (which looking back i would have gone spicier, because they dont seem to make things very spicy at all for thai food) and it was good but mild compared to the same dish at other places. Not the best of either dish i've had but not disapointing either, and there were enough leftovers to take home for an entire other meal.

We finished with the Green Tea Cake, which was AMAZING. Layer after layer of cake, whipped cream icing, and green tea ice cream...it was so light and refreshing for a cake i couldn't believe it! Definitely the best thing i had all night.

Overall, the food was really good but not quite good enough to justify the high prices, the atmosphere was trendy and casual, and the service was friendly and prompt. If not for the weird location, i'd probably go back there with friends--they also serve sushi and have an extensive drink menu i'd love to try.

Pros: buzzing atmosphere, big portions, extensive menu, great desserts

Cons: bad location, small space

I've been to a LOT of thai restaurants in LA and Dallas, but so far this one's my fave. Their dishes are so flavorful while other thai restaurants' pad see ew or pad thai are kind of bland. Their dishes are generally big portioned too. The only thing that irked me is that their spring roll did not have any meat or seafood in it. It was just lettuce and carrots or whatever else they put in it. Also Asian Mint is really pricey so its definitely worth it if you have a coupon.

I did not have reservations and was seated immediately. The ambience is very metro-sheek. We ordered the crab fried rice...it was awesome, not expecting a whole soft shell crab AND crab meat in the rice. Also had the Asian mint roll. At first doesn't look so good but it is deep fried, what's not to love about that? The flavor of the mango sauce and seaweed texture wrapped in the spicey tuna was to die for. All in all, it was a great experience. The lychee sake wasn't too shabby either...better served cold.

Pros: Mango Martini's, fried roll, fried crab, fried rice

Cons: Rent-A-Cop in parking lot packing a pistol just to show his brute force, but was forgotten when I tasted crab

I don't care much about foods for most time I been to this restaurant, but desert. They have variety of deserts up in the bar and the owner made her own. My fav is tiramisu and orange cake there

My husband and I adore asian mint for its Thai food!

The Green Basil Fried Rice is to die for and the Tom Ka Gai is some of the best we have tasted anywhere in the world (and we've been blessed to try it in some of the best Thai spots around!) Not to mention the owner's own special fusion dessert recipees: Don't leave without the Green Tea cake or the Orange Mandarin Cake! No one else is offering fusion desserts, so its a truly unique direction that we hope the owner/pastry chef will continue to expand and expore! Also, they get the Thai iced tea RIGHT ...its creamy and refreshing, but not too strong, too weak, or too sweet.

Lastly, I'd like to address the comments made earlier about those who felt asian mint prefers white customers: I'm not white and I've always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity anyone could possibly offer to a customer. I have many friends of every race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and culture you could imagine, and everyone who has had the pleasure of eating at Asian Mint reports on the heavenly service and fantasitc food. Its a very popular place, so be prepared to wait as not too many places are open late at night, but I garauntee that it will be worth the wait every time!

I cannot reccomend this place enough. My wife and I try and eat here once or week or so and never seem to get tired of the amazing green basil fried rice which we so often order. Personally, I couldn't tell you if the sushi is good or not as there are so many sushi restaurants in town that we focus on the Thai when dining here. Furthermore, the service is always as friendly as it gets. I don't know where the heck other idiot reviewers are getting the idea that certain races get preferential treatment. The owner and much of the staff are Asian, I'm white, my wife is Hispanic, and we have friends who have eaten here of every race, creed, color, whatever who have never had anything but glowing remarks about the place. Go figure. On a side note, expect a little bit of a wait at peak hours on weekends. But, as they say, that's a pretty good indicator or a restaurant. Especially one that's still packing them in after three years.

I and my girlfriend just went to have lunch at Asian Mint yesterday because my American friend recommended me as it's Thai restaurant and I am Thai. When I walked in the restaurant, it's very small inside and there were all American customers. The host showed a little bit bad attitude against us and completely ignored us. We waited for almost 5 minutes, the host came back and told us to wait to be seated. I waited about 10 minutes more and saw that there were several tables available but the host didn't call us. The host was talking to the customers and didn't care if we were waiting. So, we waited about 15 minutes to get the table. After we were seated, the waitress quickly came to ask for drinks with no smile and we told her our drinks. She quickly came back with drinks and asked for orders. We told her our orders and I asked her if she is Thai. She looked at me and nodded with no smile and walked away with bad attitude. I asked my girlfriend what was eating her or if I said something wrong. My girlfriend said the waitress seemed mad to be asked like that. I never talked to this waitress again and she talked to my girlfriend only. The foods tasted so so, not bad but quite expensive compared to other Thai restaurants with better taste and a little bit cheaper. I have been eating out at several Thai restaurants and Asian Mint is the second one that got bad attitude like this in the past 7 years. The first one is also small restaurant and the taste is worst than Asian Mint. I ordered Pad Thai for $11 with chicken. If you want to eat shrimp, it's $3 more. So, if you are Thai or Asian, I would not recommend this restaurant. They got bad attitude. Asian Mint is for American customers. I will never ever go back there again, completely nightmare to me. I will tell all of my friend about this. I don't want them to waste money with unpleasant services.

Okay, I travel all over for my job and I always check Citysearch for sushi restaurants when I go to a particular city (I admit, I'm a sushi snob.). Generally, I've had good luck with most of the site's recommendations but I absolutely must disagree with this one.

On the upside, the dollar sushi night is pretty good but be aware there is a $10 minimum. The portions for the dollar sushi menu are incredibly small and the plate appeared way too quickly suggesting that the sushi was actually pre-prepared. I will say, however, that the fish was delicious - especially the yellowtail (which was as good as I've tasted anywhere).

Ah, but here is where my story takes an unfortunate turn...

When I travel, I usually end up eating dinner by myself and I typically eat at the SUSHI BAR. That way, I can converse with the chef, buy him a sake or two, and so on. Asian Mint does have seating at the bar but the sushi is prepared in the kitchen, out of sight of the patrons. That was the first bummer.

The second bummer was the really, REALLY bad service.

I was seated promptly - at the not-sushi bar - and ordered a Sapporo. I got my beer fairly quickly but then my waitress did a disappearing act. I had to wait and wait and wait for a different waitress to come by and ask if I had been helped. I ordered some edamame and some $1 sushi. When I didn't have enough sushi checked on my order to meet the $10 minimum requirement, the waitress rudely pointed at my order and said, "$10 minimum." Okaaaay... So, I added a couple more pieces of sushi to get it to $10.

Within about 3 minutes, the sushi was basically thrown on the counter in front of me. By this time, I had finished my first beer and my glass sat empty. Luckily, there was a woman behind the bar who had access to the Sapporo and I was able to wave her down for a fresh one. I never did get my edamame. Man, oh man.

Bottom line: decent fish but the service ruined the experience. I will never go back.

My husband and I have been coming to Asian Mint since Nikki opened the door. the food quality and service have NEVER let us down. The spring rolls with shrimp are always fresh and dare I express my total joy when I spy my soft shell crab appitizer coming towards my table being carried by an always smiling wait staff? My husband and son swear by the yellow curry. Also the salon entree is wonderful. The bottom line is Asian Mint deserves to ALWAYS be at the top of the list. Oh, did I mention the Sake-Hitos? Or the Asian Sun, two fantastic drinks sure to put a smile on the cocktail hour face.

Pros: fresh and tasty food

Cons: get there ahead of the eating prime time for lunch or dinner or be prepared to wait for a table, BUT the wait is well worth the time spent visiting with friends before your table is ready

I found this in my Passbook (or whatever it is they are calling it these days) and my boyfriend and I went there not expecting much, but it was really actually very good. They also have a full bar and the atmosphere is very cool for an oriental restaurant. Check it out.
