Let me begin by saying I was lookin' and feelin' superfly-fine the evening I tried this Osteria. I had four lovely young women with me (I ain't braggin' -- just adding context) and they were in the mood to keep it real, as they say. So, we all ordered different entrees and shared each others' plates. I won't get so detailed here that you lose interest, so suffice it to say that the duck, the lamb, the fish, the veal, and, of course, the pasta were all excellent -- truly. I'm not a food expert, but I'm no bumpkin from east Texas either, so please trust me when I tell you that the food was righteous, people. Wine, on the other hand, I do know a fair bit about, and theirs was very, very nice. Their selection was not as deep as some restaurants that showcase their cellars, but the ones they did have were excellent. We had three bottles and all were truly exceptional (all under $70). Our perfect desserts were the White Passion and the Cappucino. By the way, the calamari and smoked salmon appetizers were excellent as well. But, believe it or not, the best part was the atmosphere. It's dark, romantic, quiet, serene, cozy, and casually chic. Luigi, our waiter, was very friendly, knowledgeable, smooth, and a real Italian -- from the old country. Misty, the manager was also the epitome of warm professionalism. They also have a separate bar area and an expansive patio for warmer evenings, both of which add the type of physical variety to a restaurant that accommodates whatever mood you might be in. On a scale of 1 - 10, Daniele Osteria is easily an 8.69. Try it. You'll see. As for me and the girls, yeah, we'll be back -- listening to Prince on the way over (loud), sprucin' up our dancin' shoes with a lick and a flick of the thumb, and wishin' we had come back to Daniele just a little sooner. Now you don't know me, but I am The FunkBlaster, and I do not lie. Peace out -
