Absolute worst experience i have ever had in Vegas.. I was so upset by the managers treatment to me. I am 20 and was in Vegas a little too late to feel safe driving home so i decided to call this hotel since it is where i have stayed with my family every time i went to Vegas. I will never come back or recommend this hotel after the kind of treatment i got. not relaxing at all; a complete utter disaster... :(

The story is that i made the reservation at 10 o clock (after Zumanity) because there was a drive back to Saint George i didn't feel safe driving in due to fatigue.

When i spoke with the representative she said there was a room available and that it would be 270.00 for the night i said that would be fine and she went ahead and asked my billing address and the name for the reservation.

After she took my information she asked for my card information and i gave all this to her.

next she told me when the pool etc closed and that i need to be 21 to check in and that is where i had the problem and told her i was 20. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and then i got with a manager who was a complete power struggle. He stated to me that due to the nature of their policy they cant refund any reservations made without a 48 hour notice and since it is well within that time period he is going to extend a special offer of refunding half the money if i cancel the reservation now or i need a 21 year old to check me in... this was completely disrespectful of my time and money.. he stripped me of any bit of happiness i could have felt.

I was trying to be responsible and stay off the roads at such a late hour and either way i was paying premium money to stay there.

** not to mention i have stayed here before and had no problem even at 19 when i walked in..

At this point in the story i was given the option to get half the money back and have no room or have a 21 year old check me in which both me and my girlfriend didnt have..

why this wasn't explained to me before i gave her my card is completely wrong and for them to offer half my money back for a reservation i was still on the phone for is completely ethically wrong..

Both me and my girlfriend rushed off to the hotel to try and figure something out regardless of the fact that we were supposed to have a nice dinner and relax. This took a while to get to the hotel since we had to walk and take the tram etc.

When we got there we went up to an agent and went through the check in process to see if they would just check us in. We got through just fine even though i handed him both my card and ID.

The manager seriously ruined our night and gave me anxiety I have never felt before.

We get to the ruin and are ready to go to sleep after a completely stressful night. ** we are still hungry but sick to the point where we cant eat..

the door bell rings and ** THE DOOR IS SET TO DO NOT DISTURB
its the maid and she has a note that says alcohol/food.

at this point i don't feel like i am ever going to be able to relax because now she is up here and disturbing peace that i payed a lot for!!!

she comes in our room when my girlfriend is in her underwear laying in bed so i am very bugged that we cant relax AT ALL!!

there is no wet bar in our room so there isn't any alcohol. unless somehow it is in the locked fridge looking thing under the sink..

the maid cant figure it out so in her rightful mind she decides to take all the snack bar type things IE: fiji water, m&m's, pretzels, etc. BASICALLY ANYTHING WE COULD HAVE HAD.

WOW THIS WAS HORRIBLE

***THE SERIOUSLY TOOK MY MONEY AND MY HAPPINES AND RUINED OUR PLANS FOR DINNER FOR NOTHING!!!!!!

I WILL NEVER SEND ANYONE YOUR WAY OR EVER COME BACK EVEN THOUGH I USED TO LOVE THIS HOTEL.

YOUR ETHICS HAVE WASHED AWAY!!!

My husband and I were in vegas over the weekend for my brother's wedding. While we were out, our room was burglarized. Although there was no sign of any forced entry, my wedding ring, macbook pro, gold hoop earrings, perfume, cologne, and a small travel bag was stolen from the room. The theief also took the laptop charger, but left everything else in the room including a wrapped wedding gift and credit cards.

We notified the front desk and security about the incident. After a long wait, security finally arrived and asked me to write down the value of all the items taken from the room and a detailed statement.

Security and front desk were not very helpful or supportive. They insisted that things like this happen all the time and that many times guests would leave their doors unlocked (intentionally or unintentionally) or that guests invite strangers into their rooms who end up stealing from them.

Security also informed us that there are no security cameras on the guest floors only in the lobby floor, casino, and elevators, but they walk through the guest floors every 1 to 2 hours and they push guest rooms doors to insure they are locked. If the door is unlocked, they enter the room to see if everything is alright.

Surprisingly, even before the investigation has started, RISK MANAGEMENT already told me that the hotel is not liable for any theft, loss, or damage of any property brought by a guest upon the hotel. They also failed to mention previous burglary that have occurred a few weeks prior to our check in.

I believe guests have a right to be informed of previous burglaries in order to take extra precaution for our belongings and safety. Mandalay Bay prides themselves with sophistication and service, but we were never-- not once offered anytype of accomodation for our misfortune or anytype of apology or sympathy from the front desk staff or security. All they can say is that bad things happen that are beyond their control.

Front desk did not even tell us that they have a in house safe or that they are not reliable for any theft that occurrs on the property nor did we see any visible sign that can be easily read and placed in a conspicuous area.

I have stayed at less luxurious hotels such as circus circus in las vegas and ohana west in honolulu, and I never felt safer. There are guards making sure you are a guest in the hotel, always asking questions, and you need your card key to access the elevator.

If you ever plan a trip to vegas, read all the reviews and remember that you cannot rely on hotel staff for anything. TheHotel does not care about your safety or your concerns. Insure your valuables, backup your files, precious photos, and videos, download a tracking app for your macbook, and try not to look rich at all costs! You never know who will be watching and following you around! TheHotel does not have anyway of knowing who entered your room other than reviewing the door logs.

The doors themselves do not signal security that it has been left open. Only Wynn, Tropicana, Mandalay Bay Resort have TimeLox AM with ZigBee that can report doors left open to security.

I came to vegas for a week, decided to stay at the paris las vegas hotel for the weekend and then transfer over to ""THE Hotel"" at Mandalay Bay. I was traveling for a conference.

At the end of the night I went back up to my room and ordered room service (Breakfast at 10pm or so). I went to sleep with the tv on, my cell phone plugged into my laptop juicing up on the bed next to me. I woke up in the middle of the night and looked over to find that my cell phone and the usb cable were laying on the bed next to me with the laptop power cord still plugged into the wall.

I got up, and started looking around on the floor, as to find that perhaps i knocked it off the bed. Odd considering how the cables were just sitting on the bed the same distances where the laptop would be.

As I tore my room upside down, I noticed that the backpack I received from the convention center was also missing. I immediately called security to file a report. Somebody showed up at my room shortly after and when i went to open the door, it opened with me pulling on the handle without pushing the handle downward (it's a heavy door). I explained everything to him, but he handed me a piece of paper and told me to start writing. I wrote everything I had remembered and the worth of my laptop.

He left, I looked around for my external USB thumb drives, SSDs, HDDs, and enclosures. Gone too.

I finally decided to call LVPD following the incident and security visit, after calling my boss and contacting somebody at my office to disable my work accounts.

The officer told me that there was already another report identical to mine, under the same circumstances, on another floor in the hotel (even the same laptop Brand!). Thats when I knew beyond a doubt that somebody had come into my room while I was asleep, took my laptop, my backpack and everything inside.

I was surprised that they didn't take any of the bubbly or white wines that i took out of the frige to fit the coffe in.

I talked to guest relations, several security and nobody was willing to offer an explanation or tell me WHY THEY DONT have security cameras in their HALLWAYS!!

I lost around $4500 worth of equipment from my hotel room, and somebody CAME INTO MY ROOM while I was ASLEEP. Very creepy. I am freaked out, I fell asleep in my bathrobe and basically naked on top of the covers.

do not stay here. I am going to start a website and let everybody know that they should look elsewhere in vegas if safety and valuables are of personal conern. I can't stop thinking about what would of happened to me if I woke up in the middle of it all. Absolutely terrifying experience at this hotel. ZERO STARS, ZERO CLASS from the STAFF.

We stayed at TheHotel and checked out on Nov 22/10 at 6 am due to an early flight. In my tiredness I left behind all my shopping in one big bag. I called the next day to have it shipped and it took a month, the bag arrived with most of the stuff missing. They said a report was filed but Risk Mgmt won't return my calls - even the managers don't return calls. The one time I got through I was basically told they didn't believe me and there was nothing they could/would do. Do not risk staying here. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.

My girlfriend and I just left The Hotel because our room got broken into last night and we were robbed. My girlfriend was tired so she decided to go to sleep early. I decided to go to the bar for a drink. Someone was able to enter our room while my girlfriend was sleeping and started going through her purse. She woke up during the robbery and thought it was me so she rolled over and started to go back to sleep. When robber heard her roll over in bed he or she dropped to the floor and crawled to the opposite end of the room. My girlfriend lied there paralyzed with fear as she now knew it was not me. All my girlfriends cash was stolen. We reported the situation to the front desk they acted like it was no big deal and then we were directed to risk management. What a joke!!!!! They offered no answers or solutions. You would think they have cameras being a 4 star hotel in Vegas. I am a meeting planner and travel all over the country during the year working with hotel staff at various locations. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had. I researched the issue on the internet and there are so many others out there who have been robbed at the Mandalay bay and The Hotel. DO NOT SAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

For those Las Vegas lovers, stay away from THEhotel. Regardless of the deals you might get there, being burglarized will definitely ruin your stay.\r
\r
I was there recently and had my $10, 000 ring stolen from my purse, which was inside my closed luggage. When I called the front desk, manager, risk management, I was blamed for not using the safe. I only went to the pool for a couple of hours. I was not anticipating to be violated - to have a stranger break into my room, go through my belongings and steal my wedding ring. \r
\r
They also implied that I misplaced my ring. The staff's attitude was indifferent and atrocious to say the list. \r
\r
They could have cared less that I had my ring stolen from their room. Did not even ask me to describe the ring, or to give them any other details (when it happened, etc). I know that customer service is non-existant these days - after all they don't pay the staff enough to care. Instead they hire any criminal that will work for minimum wage. There is not security in this place. \r
\r
The only security guard I was more interested in the food area than protecting the paying guests.\r
They consider themselves a luxury hotel. What good is a nice looking hotel if the employees are theives, unprofessional and uncaring? I want my ring back at the end of your so called ""investigation"". By the way, their investigation takes a week. What a joke!!! By now my ring has exchanged many hands. Some pawn owner is happy with the profit he made on his buy. \r
\r
By the way, I'm not the only person with this experience at THEhotel.

Pros: Nice suites

Cons: Staff theft, bad customer service, not enough pool chairs

.

The rooms here are actually priced fairly reasonable. The room I stayed in had a separate bedroom and living room with a very nice desk and a 50 inch HD tv. I really enjoyed the room, and if you're a night owl you'll love that when the curtains are closed absolutely no light will leak into the room as you sleep to noon ;)

The staff was very nice. I would definitely stay here again

THE Hotel has some of the nicest guest rooms in town and are competitively priced. I find a lower standard of customer service than expected. Not nearly as good as Four Seasons but not as expensive either

The Mandalay Bay Resort is really nice. The place is clean. The staff here are polite and efficient. You can walk to a lot of the strip from here if you even want to leave. As much as you end up gambling away and spending on food you would think the room would be free! In the older days the rooms were all real reasonable, even cheap, and the food was next to nothing. They would draw people in to stay and eat knowing full well you would leave a lot on the tables. It isn't that way anymore. But this is a real nice place to stay.

The hotel is beautiful and you definitely pay the price. We discovered while staying there that the staff caters to those who flash money. For the cost of the room, we could have stayed at almost any other hotel and got better service. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. I would say it ranks 2nd in beauty for Vegas hotels.

Mandalay Bay is one of the nicest on the strip. It has first class accommodations across the board. It also has a V.I.P. program for which you can sign up, that pays for itself.

7 of my friends and I this past weekend went to Las Vegas (it was my first time). We knew we wanted to stay at a hotel that was aimed toward our generation (early to mid 20s). The palms and hardrock were very expensive (it was labor day weekend FYI). For 3 nights, it came out to an average of 309 a night per room, which I think its quite inexpensive. We stayed in THEsuite with a living room and 2 bed bedroom. Very comfortable beds and bathrobe. Bathroom was VERY impressive with SUNKEN tub, stand up shower, separate toilet and huge sink area. The room was a 5/5 without a doubt. The only bad part is the hotel's entrance is underground which was alittle odd and THEHotel is so far from the pool, easily a 15 minute walk. Room service took on average about 40 minutes which was expected, but everything was still pipping hot when it came. \r
\r
The best restaurant I ate in was in the little mall between the Mandalay Bay and the luxor called Burger Bar. Probably the best burgers ever so thats a place to stop and eat.\r
\r
Next time I visit Vegas ill try to stay somewhere else not because I didnt like the Mandalay Bay but because I want to experience more of Las Vegas.

When my friends and I first got to THE HOTEL, we were really happy to see that the lobby wasn't overly busy but meanwhile the Mandalay Bay casino and several of the other resorts were in easy walking distance. The staff got us checked in right away and the room was great. The room was very hip and modern: TVs, beds, and bathrooms were awesome and there was plenty of space. When we got to the room we found that the TV remote wasn't working so I informed the front desk and they had a new remote for us in minutes. Overall, I'd recommend THE HOTEL to anyone visiting Vegas.

This was not my first neither my last trip to Las Vegas, but definitely the first and the last stay at THE Hotel. Having stayed in Mandalay, Bellagio and Wynn we thought to try THE hotel as it sounded really promising on paper. THE reality - it is a dark, mediocre hotel with a very weird entrance from the garage. There is no other entrance to this hotel, right from the parking lot! Greenish glass used to build this hotel makes you look like you were dead in your room in a daylight. Believe me, it was not b/c of the heavy drinking the night before. Customer service is bad. In order to get message from the receptionist, one have to stand the long line of people checking it, and when asked for room service your coffee ($17.00) arrives lukewarm 20 min later.\r
If you are thinking to use the spa, make sure you are OK with expensive mediocre services and an attitude from personnel. \r
There are definitely better hotels in Las Vegas!

Excellent experience. Staff was very helpful. Since we were there on our honeymoon our room was upgraded to a V suite for free. The view was top notch and there was nothing to complain about. I lost my debit card on the trip and the front desk was very helpful - they called all of the places I visited that day and put me in touch with their security departments. We loved that their was no casino in the hotel, but we did not have go outside to reach 2 casinos. Highly recommend!

I was apprehensive to try this hotel due to its location and some negative reviews about its service. However, those fears were unfounded because I had a wonderful four-night stay. The service was excellent every time, and we were even provided some extras such as an upgraded room upon request. The Bathhouse Spa was clean, comfortable, and professional. The rooms are also clean, well maintained, and the housekeeping staff did a great job during my stay. We even requested extra pillows and were given a choice of type of pillow. The hotel has a hip vibe yet is a pleasantly relaxing contrast to the din of the casino next door. ""Views"" are limited unless you are on an upper floor facing the Strip, because the Luxor blocks the Strip view of the lower half of this side of the property. The other side faces the desert. That means 3/4 of the hotel doesn't have good views, so be prepared to pony up if that's important to you. The negatives are the locaton and the unglamorous approach through a parking garage. The location is NOT what you want if you love the Central Strip -- you'll spend plenty of time in taxis or on foot getting to where you want to go. However, the taxi line outside The Hotel was quick, and there were taxis on que at all hours (including 5am). This is not always the case next door at Mandalay Bay, where I have stood in line for 15-20 minutes on the weekend for a cab. Also, there is lots to do at Mandalay Bay if you are able to resist the call of the central Strip. Mandalay Place has some mall-ish shopping (It's no Forum Shops for sure), there are 3 spas and a giant pool complex onsite, the casinos at MB and Luxor are both close, and there are tons of lounges and great restaurants. As for the arrival via parking garage -- it is what it is. It lacks the glamour of an arrival at Bellagio or Ceasar's or even the Wynn. It is more like pulling up curbside at the airport. Overall, it was a superior property and I would stay here again.

The Mandalay Bay is truly a wonderful Vegas getaway, with everything you know and love about Vegas. The rooms were outstanding, the casino is pretty much what you would expect (no low table limits) and the pool area is amazing. It's only downfall is the fact that it is so far down the Strip, it makes for some long walks.

Although I stayed at THEHotel as part of a free promotion and although THEHotel may be out of my price range most times of the year, if you have the money and want to make an impression, I could not recommend this place more. It is the nicest hotel I ever stayed in. The rooms are modern and huge. There is a living room with a desk, printer and internet connection for business traveler's, a bedroom a huge bathroom with it's own plasma and a small bathroom in the entrance hallway. The rooms are quiet and the bed is the most comfortable bed that I ever slept in. The staff is very accomodating and helpful. If you have the means, there is no other way to go. I also stayed at the Venetian and to me, THEHotel blows it away!!!

I arrived at The Hotel in the morning directly from the airport as ""highenergy"" did. I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and accomodating. I suffer from asthma and needed to make sure that my room was smoke free. The front desk staff sent me to a room that housekeeping was cleaning to make sure that I couldn't smell any smoke and said that if I did they have a machine that could help the situation. Housekeeping provided me with foam pillows and made sure that I was comfortable before leaving me in my beautiful suite. I couldn't have asked for better service. The architecture and atmosphere in a city of bright lights and neon is relaxing and beautiful. It is a great place to rest or get plenty of work done if you are on a business trip. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Great looking property. The beach at Mandalay Bay is a cool bonus, too. All the rooms are suites, and the decor is very hip.

Rooms were clean, but not perfect - water rings on the tables, and the tub took over an hour to drain. We requested a room on a higher floor for the view, but had to listen to the base in the nightclub above, as well as screaming voices.

We moved to a lower floor, which was quieter - but we were overlooking the parking lot and freeway. Upon our change, we were told by a front desk clerk, ""no one has ever complained before!""

I heard The Spa is excellent, but I wouldnt pay $50 for a manicure. Mandalay Bay has wireless internet; THEhotel doesnt.

THEhotel is at the very end of the strip. Unless you don't mind paying for cabs, I recommend staying somewhere centralized.

Unless you get a deal on a room, this place is over rated. At over $300 per night you would expect your room to be clean upon arrival....not so. You would also expect the staff to be professional....not so. I arrived on early in the morning directly from the Airport only to find a tempermental staff. I dont know people there hadnt had their morning coffee but almost everyone I encountered seemed a bit grumpy. Other than the room not being completely clean the amenities are very nice. Unless you get a great rate I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends. You get what you pay for but I feel I paid to much.

THE HOTEL is by far the best bang for the buck in the continental US.

The lobby is stunning, spanning 3 stories tall with extensive use of granite & warm woods. The staff is polite and accommodating, but they are not impressive. This is probably the only thing that prevents THE HOTEL from being 5-star.

The suites are among the best I've stayed in. Suites feature a wet bar, a moderately priced minibar, guest bathroom, two 42"" plasma TVs, and a 15"" LCD TV in the master bathroom. The master bathroom is large and luxurious with a seperate tub and marble shower. My biggest complaint is about the toiletries, which smell good, but are the same cheap brand that Holiday Inn uses.

Stay Sunday-Thursday for incredibly low rates. Fri-Sat the rates easily double. Request a free upgrade to a corner suite for a tad more space & better views.
