Ten - An Aveda Salon and Spa is horrible

First let me say that I LOVE Aveda salons, always have. But this salon should be kicked out of the Aveda club. I adored my hair stylist. She was fired (and once I tracked her down and got back with her, the reason was not only ridiculous but illegal). Got stuck with the manager (before I was able to track down my stylist). She did a horrible job and was rude and condescending to me - how hard is to make polite small talk with a client? Seriously. I was so uncomfortable. Aveda needs to find out about this salon using their good brand and clean house. DON'T GO!!!! You're risking your hair and risking spending an hour as a captive audience to an untalented rude woman who thinks that because she's the manager (or whatever she is) that she can treat the customers like crap.

I have been a client there for about 7 months and have seen two different stylists and have been very impressed by both! The front desk staff offered me a complimentary drink (including beer and wine!) and I received a heavenly smelling paraffin dip during my haircut service. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

I used to be a devoted customer of Ten. I went there every 6 weeks for a cut and color. My regular stylist quit to become a full-time mother and I had to find someone else to do my hair. I went in, after being blond for the summer, and asked to go down to a reddish-brown. My hair came out ASH brown and had this ugly green tint. I was told in color chemistry, green is the opposite of red...which makes no sense as to why they would add that to my hair when I asked for red. After looking at my reflection, in horror, when I got home, I decided that I had to get it corrected. They could not even fit me in until a week later to fix it. The owner was called over and told me that when there is a need for a hair correction, it can be categorized two ways. A redo, when the salon makes a mistake and a rethink. A rethink is when the guest asks for something and gets it then hates it. She said that I had a rethink because my hair went from light to dark and I didn't like it. I told her, "NO!" It was because I asked for red and got greenish brown. 4 weeks later I went in for a 2nd correction after the color washed out and the owner personally did my hair. She dyed it right back to the greenish brown that was beginning to fade from the first time. On top of that, I have now paid about $300 in charges for hair that I hate. I will never go back there. Beware!! If you get something you don't like (or never asked for), don't be surprised if they tell you it's your fault.
