I am fairly nerw to the area and I really hated the fact I had to drive an hour away to get my hair done! I tried a couple places and still was not satisfied until I found this salon. The customer services if FABULOUS! I was greated by the young lady at the front desk with a great additude and smile! The vibe was good as well. I had my appointment with Robert and he was AWESOME! I only went in for a hair color and he really listened and it came out PERFECT! I plan to do some minor changes to my hair in the future and this is the place I will go to from now on! I highly recommend Robert he knows his stuff!!! SO GLAD TO HAVE FOUND THIS SALON ;D

I highly highly recommend Robert. I don't just let anyone touch my hair. I am very particular about my highlights and my cut. Its really hard to find a stylist that I trust and that does a great job. I was looking for a new stylist so I went to my moms stylist and he turned my hair grey and it was just awful. I found Robert and he did an amazing job. He saved my hair and brought me back to the blonde I wanted. I almost cried after Robert fixed my hair because I was so thankful. And I had finally found someone I can trust with my hair. Not only that but this is the best my hair has ever looked. He not only keeps my hair healthy but he pays attention to what I want (which is hard to find a stylist which balances the two). I asked him to chop off my hair last month into a texturized bob and it was perfect. Without pictures, Robert cut my hair and gave me the hair I was looking for. He understands hair and what hair best suits you which sadly cannot be said about A LOT of hair stylists. Robert has colored and cut my hair both long and short and he has done an amazing job. Most stylists are usually better at one or the other but Robert is really good with both short and long hair.

Also Robert is really accommodating. If you really need to come in Robert usually will try to see you as soon as he can or coordinate schedules to help you out.

I found robert on city search wanting to be blonde blonde! I had asked my previous hair stylist to make me platinum blonde but that was not my end result. I walked in to this salon showed robert a pictire of what I wanted my hair to look like and he matched it perfectly! awesome hair stylist with amazing talent! I highly recommend him!!

I found Robert through Citysearch and wanted to pay it forward. I have gone to many different stylists in my 30 years living in Huntington Beach and have finally found someone who gets it. I went to him after a disasterous cut and after he colored my hair even the bad cut did not look so bad. After losing all my hair to chemo I do know it grows back, but I don't have to worry about bad or no hair days now that I found Robert. If you are looking for a great stylist look no further, go to Robert if you want to love your hair again.

For anyone new to the Huntington Beach area, and has looked for a new stylist through Citysearch, I like Robert. I felt very comfortable with him. He asked many questions before we started, and brought out a tablet to show me a long bob picture that Jennifer Anniston had not too long ago. He thought that it would look great on me, and it does. I'm happy I found him. Also, he was running twenty minutes late for my appointment, and the front desk called me ahead of time. That gave me time to run an errand. I totally appreciated that.

Salon Ambiance in HB is great! I absolutley love Denisse. She does an awesome hair cut that looks amazing and is easy to maintain. She's very fast too. I haven't been this happy with my hair...well ever, seriously. I highly recommend her.

I just wanted everyone to know that when you read reviews about Robert that they are true. My hair was dry and lifeless, and he said that I had a lot of breakage from my last stylist. He recommended a Brazillian keratin treatment after my highlights. He gave me some lowlights for depth, and my hair after the keratin came back to life! The only hard part was the highlights and the keratin took a little over three hours, but totally worth it. My hair looks like when I was 17. I think that his prices are totally reasonable too.

I have been friends with my old stylist for years, but she broke my hair off by leaving me under the dryer too long. I went to city search and read reviews. I'm glad I tried out Robert. My hair is a much lighter and prettier blonde than I used to have . He used a product called silk lift that is much more gentile on hair. Finally, He did NOT put me under a dryer. He told me that is was a last resort. I have had three friends tell me that they like my hair so much better now. I hate to leave my friend, but if I'm going to pay that much for my hair I want it to look like it does now, and not break.

What can't I say about Robert? First and foremost he took my colorless, limp, so-so hair from ""Good enough"" to ""Fantastic"". When I leave the salon, I am Transformed! I feel like a million bucks and look like, well lets just say people stop me while I'm out and ask, ""who does your hair""? I can't say enough about Robert, he is the best stylist I've ever been to ""and believe me"" I've been to a few. I am very particular when it comes to my hair. Robert is very current with the styles and colors, he knows what he is doing and does it with confidence. I've got brown/blonde hair and when he is done with the color, it looks so natural with beautiful blonde highlights. I recommend Robert Raymond-5 stars-I'll never go anywhere else again. He's also a great guy to know!

I am so pleased to have found Jill at Salon Ambiance. A friend referred me and i was so happy... I am a very picky blonde, and Jill has great blonde hair herself, and has been able to understand what i want and make my hair look amazing everytime!!

Not only is she a great colorist, I have never been as pleased as i am with my hair/bangs when she gives me a trim.

Jill gives great men's hair cuts! She makes me presentable every six weeks. Her hair cuts are the only reason I get dates!

I started seeing Jill when to my surprise when I made my first hair appointment after having a baby (it had been a long time!) I was told my old stylist had moved and that my appointment would be scheduled with Jill. I have been seeing her over a year now! My previously over-thinned out hair is now thick and long! She has supported me in growing my hair out long and never pressures me to get it colored ect. The Salon is always busy and the stylists always seem very professional and passionate about what they do.

I found Jill Vaughn at Salon Ambiance through various online reviews. My color looks so pretty and natural and the layered cut gave my fine hair the volume and style it needed. Being a blond herself, Jill really knows what she is doing. Jill is easy to talk to and really listens and pays attention to what you want and what will look good on you. I've had so many bad experiences when trying a new stylist (brassiness, ""tiger"" stripes, visible roots, etc.), so after moving back to OC recently I was extremely nervous to try someone new. Jill did an amazing job on my hair and I am thrilled that I never have to look for another stylist again!

He's just great. From start to finish I had fun, and came out with great hair. I have a little longer than shoulder length hair that was flat and straight. We changed my color and added some brighter blonde around my face. Then Robert suggested a styling product that has mad it easy for me to curl my hair, and stays all day long. I found him on Citysearch and this is my first review. I just wanted to pass it on.

Jill is a hair care Professional. She asked questions of what I wanted, made suggestions ... courteously yet firmly, explained what would make me look my best. I followed her advice and will continue to do so. I have gone to see Jill just once so far, after taking out my extensions done by someone else. My hair was a mess. Jill colored it, gave me a haircut, and styled it. I was very happy with the results. I can't wait to go back!

When I first moved out to California over 3 years ago I had such a hard time finding a hair stylist that could get my hair just right. And its not like I have a complicated 'do....all over color and a pretty simple cut. I bounced around from stylist to stylist. Right when I was about to give up and rock the Sinead O'Connor look, someone referred me to Jill. She nailed it the first time!! My prayers had been answered. After a few appointments she even had me trusting her to give me bangs....which I hadn't had since I was 12 years old. What I love most about Jill is that she listens to what I want and delivers every time. After every appointment she always texts me to check in and see how I like my hair. I've grown up with Jill Vaughan doing my hair. She styled my hair before all my school pictures, formals, and proms. As well as my graduation portrait. I have semi curly and frizzy hair, she just gave me a killer brazilian blowout and natural looking highlights. I LOVE MY HAIR! Especially during beach season. I do not have easy hair - thin, lifeless and not much of it! But Stephanie has a way of cutting and styling it to make it look great! She's been cutting and highlighting my hair for awhile and I always love the way it looks when I leave...and she has taught me different ways to style it so it actually looks good even when I do it! That was never the case in the past with other stylists...I could never repeat the way they had styled it.

Stephanie is patient, is easy to talk to, and really listens to what you want (or don't want) with your hair. Usually I just sit down and tell her to do what she thinks is best for my hair and she always hits the mark!

She's awesome with highlights too. In the past, I felt like I was always going back to other salons for a fix - color wasn't quite right, streaked, etc. I've never had to return to Stephanie to have it fixed. It looks natural...and takes half the time of what I used to have to spend getting my hair highlighted.

I've also gone to Stephanie for make-up and she's fantastic at that too! She showed me how to apply it (again, so patient) and it looks great both for everyday and for going out.

I went to Robert last night for the first time. Besides being adorable - he really knows his stuff. I liked his hair philosophy and how he really tried to work ""with"" my hair instead of ""against"" it. I have blondish hair and most stylists overdo it and parts become white. I have also had several Brazilian blow outs in the past year and I think it really damaged my hair. Between the bleach, straightening, flat iron, blow dryer, etc... It was fried!!! So Robert toned my hair to a much more natural ""golden blonde"" and is encouraging me to grow it longer and let the ends curl - not so severe straight. I will be going back to him for a long time. I'm so happy I read some of his reviews online and made the right choice - hope you do too!!!

Ok, so I'm sure we've all heard a million horror stories about extensions, right? I know first hand about those horror stories... so you can imagine I was a little nervous about trying a new technique! I was talking to my stylist, Stephanie, and she suggested the extensions that she does, which are call Hairlocs. She did an awesome job of explaning to me that they're just little beads that you slip on to your own hair, slip the extension hair in, close it and voila! So I decided to try it..

Can I just say, I look like a babe and a half now because of her! I have that awesome mermaid-like hair that I LOVE having, but am always too impatient to grow out. Seroiusly, Stephanie has changed my life! I feel so much more sexy and pretty JUST because of my hair! She did such a wonderful job, not a single one has slipped out in the few months that I've had them. It IS time to go in for some maintenance though. So I'll be seeing her again soon!

I have gone to the same stylist for 15 years and she would not change my style even though I brought her pictures. A friend of mine suggested City Search. I brought the same picture into him, and he nailed it. It seemed so effortless for him, Since last week four of my friends have complimented my hair, and they have said that I look a lot younger. Two of my friends are trying him out on their next appointment. I am so glad I went to him. It was hard leaving my hair dresser, but I don't regret it. He's just what I needed,

Denisse has been doing my hair for about a year now. And I call her my ""personal stylist"". First of all, I HAD totally unmanageable, ugly, frizzy, poofy hair. Basically every trait you DON'T want your hair to have. She regularly colors and cuts my hair. So as my ""personal stylist"", and seeing my crazy hair first hand she recommended Brazilian Blowout. Sure, I knew it would help. But it wasn't until we did it, did it actually save my hair's life. It was the best thing I have ever done to my hair. On the coloring front, Denisse can take an idea and run a mile with it. Make it so amazing to start, then when you color again, so much better than the last time. She also gave me the popular ombre color. I CONSTANTLY receive compliments ombre color, even for a darker head of hair, she made the ombre color look fabulous on me.

All in all Denisse is an amazing stylist, has a young sense of style with hair, listens to her customers and is just a beyond sweet person to work with. LOVELOVELOVE HER! Definitely check her out!

My hair is coarse and thick and had always had a hard time getting it tamed! Denisse introduced me to the Brazilian Blowout and I have fallen in love with it. It would take me up to an hour to blow dry and straighten my hair every morning, after the Brazilian Blowout it ONLY takes me 10 minutes!!\r

I had the same stylist for 8 years. She relocated to a different city. With gas prices as they are, I decided not to continue making the drive. I was concerned having someone new highlight my hair. I understand the chemistry involved not to mention the geometry required to actually cut someones hair properly. WOW, did SOPI come through for me. I love her passion for style. She made me look 5 years younger. I love her!

I have been to three different hair stylists after my girl moved to San Diego. I finally found my man. Every one else couldn't give me a neutral blonde that wasn't brassy. He knew what I was talking about right a way during the consultation. He comes off very confident. He gave me exactly what I wanted, and we had fun. I was looking for a new look and went to Paige at Salon Ambiance on a referral. She listened to what I wanted and described just what she was going to do to achieve it. I received natural highlights, a beautiful color and long layers that everyone is just raving about. Paige is so easy to talk to and even gave a great scalp and neck massage!

I randomly when to Paige because I was tired of the same ""do"" my old stylist kept cutting and coloring on me. Paige not only did a flawless color job, she also gave me a different cut that looked amazing for my face shape. I recently had to go into Paige with a hair emergency, ALL my hair was in a giant knot on top of my head. Everyone told me I would have to cut my hair off. With Salon Ambiance I get it all, convenience, high end products, courteous staff (they always give a reminder call) and, oh yeah, the best colorist, stylist, cutter AND his extensions are bar none. \r
For years, I have traveled between two worlds, L.A. County and The OC. With homes in both counties I had the flexibility of working with the best stylist in either universe. But, after the hundredth time my Pasadena stylist not just double booked but triple booked, I was done. \r
My search for the best in OC was very circuitous, but in short I followed the best hair on the street and ended up at Robert's door. He took me from extensions that were damaging my hair and needed frequent tune ups and replacements, to extensions that lasted over nine months. Additionally, he took me from a strawberry blond to a full rich redhead. I was hesitant at first, as I have seen the faded red look between coloring, not good. But, Robert's red doesn't fade ugly. It fades a little, after all it is red, but it doesn't look dead in between appointments. Keeping red looking vibrant, is no small feat. Especially if your natural hair color is gray! And I, with Robert's help, am going into old age kicking and screaming. \r
So, if you are looking for the greatest stylist in the world, at least he is in mine, follow the best hair on the street to Robert's door. \r

I am a new mom with a 2-months old baby girl who hasn't had a haircut since my former hairstylist relocated 2 months ago. I googled for a good salon in Huntington Beach and found Salon Ambience. After reading the bio of Jill, I decided to take a chance and made an appointment with her.
First of all, I was happy that Jill was ready for me at exactly my appointment time at 12pm. ( I used to have to wait for my last stylist to finish the customer before me) She gave me a great wash followed by the cut. Jill is a ""dry-cutter"" which means she actually blow-dry my hair before she cuts it. From the way she works, I can tell that she is highly experienced, well-trained and confident in what she is doing. I had fun sipping green tea while watching how Jill works, and chatting with her.
When she is done with my hair, I look so different than when I walked in! She then asked if I would like to have my hair curled and I thought why not? She curled my hair and made it looked so full and shiny. Even though this is the first time I met Jill, I already booked my next appointment because I know that I would like to come back to her.
What really surprised me is that after this haircut, I didn't wash my hair for the next 3 days! Then I washed my hair and it has been another 2 days..this is a miracle for someone like me who has been washing my hair everyday for so many years, even though I know that it is not good for my hair. I can't believe that I'm able to start a new, healthier habit to take care of my hair, and at the same time, less time consuming!
Last week, I had a massage, a facial and a haircut to pamper myself from being so busy taking care of my precious baby girl and I must say that this haircut experience TOPPED them all!!! :)

Paige is a true professional! She is really talented in hair coloring and has a gift of knowing what really looks good on her clients. Paige is really one of the best up and coming hair stylists around. If you have never had your hair done by Paige, you should probably get an appointment soon, as she books up fast!

I love Paige! I always have a problem with people not listening to exactly what I want and they always think they know better than me about my own hair, but not Paige! She really listened to what I wanted and gave me fantastic results on my color and haircut. I get compliments all the time! I moved to Huntington Beach about 8 months ago and got a referral from a neighbor and was greatly disappointed. My hair looked brassy and the cut was horrible. So after letting my hair grow out of the awful color I finally saw great reviews for Robert at Salon Ambiance. He colored my hair and my daughter's hair and our hair turned out AMAZING! Robert truly has a natural talent for knowing what color hair looks good for your skin color. I wish I could post a picture of my daughter's hair. She would be the envy of most teenage girls. I am so relieved to have found a great stylist. A stylist job is to make you look amazing and Robert did just that. Thank you so much Robert! You will be our stylist forever. Had my hair cut a few days ago by Eddie, and He is amazing!! I'm always so afraid to go to new stylist because of my hair getting cut too short. I told him what I wanted and he did the best job ever!. It wasn't too short just perfect! If your looking for a great stylist just ask for Eddie!

I met Robert when I moved fom Toranto a few months ago, and I want to let new people to the area that he's wonderful. He colored my hair again two weeks ago, and I have compliments from coworkers and strangers. I am grateful for Citysearch to be able to find such a great stylist without knowing anyone in Huntington Beach.

I got the worst haircut in my life at a salon in Westminster. I called Salon Ambiance in Huntington Beach and was booked with Shelly, I was nervous in trying someone new and I was afraid that I would have to cut off my hair very short. Shelly put me at ease by explaining to me how she would fix my haircut and yet keeping the length. She made a few adjustments to my cut and it was awesome!

Haven't loved my hair this much in a long time. He changed my hair color, and my makeup and skin look so much better. It's amazing what changing your hair color will do. I felt special when I left.

Lisa is a real artistic with hair, she takes her time and does a careful and precise cut. Always producing an up-to-date style and look which is also easy to keep up on your own.
Her style is relaxed and friendly. She also gives you a great neck massage at the wash bowl, which is a real bonus.

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO NATALIE FOR 3 YEARS NOW, AND SHE ALWAYS DOES SUCH A GREAT JOB ON MY HAIR! SHE LISTENS TO WHAT I WANT AND IS ALWAYS ABLE TO MAKE MY HAIR LOOK GREAT! I always schedule my appointments with Cory. I trust him fully with my hair. Cory is always friendly and tries to make you fell at ease when you are unsure about changing your style. He has a true gift when it comes to color. Cory understands the full color pallet of hair and what color(s) will accentuate a woman's natural beauty. He listens to your desires and makes them come true. I never knew my hair could look so great. If you want to have a fun and relaxing experience while getting color and a cut you definitely need to make an appointment with Cory.

I was scheduled with Lisa Livingstone for a cut and weave. Not knowing each other can cause apprehension at an initial appointment, however, Lisa was very patient, offered suggestions and listened to my concerns. She takes pride in her profession, loves her job and the studio. She is eager to learn and stay abreast of new styles and ideas. I was happy with the weave and cut and style as I left the salon. Since I did not want to do anything extreme at my first visit, it was enough of a change without being drastic. She cleaned up the color and the cut quite nicely. Lisa's very relaxing head/neck massage at the shampoo bowl were a bonus. Who doesn't love that? The prices are probably average in the industry - I am not used to paying quite so much, otherwise I would rate 5 stars. For the amount of time and energy Lisa gave me, it was money well spent.

I am terrified to let anyone touch my hair, and since i moved up to HB a year ago from SD i have not had a trim, let alone a haircut. Finally, it was time to pick a salon to go to and i did. Picking the Salon was pretty easy as I saw all of the good reviews on multiple websites. Picking the hair artist was the touch part... so i didnt choose. I showed up and had an appointment with Shelly...she immediately put me at ease about having a stranger touch my hair. She was so vibrant, and excited to cut my long hair. Shelly immediately won me over and i then trusted her completely. She gave me exactly what i had been wanting, yet i didnt even have to tell her. Not only is she exact, but she is very quick-i didnt feel rushed, and we still talked and had conversation, but she was so good she didnt need 3 hours like my hairdressers past. \r

Natalie is punctual, she keeps her appointments and is quick with the services she provides. She has been my stylist for 2 years now and does my cuts, color and special event hair! She is always available to serve her clients. I never knew blond could be so difficult for certain stylists but I never look brassy or yellow with Natalie. She can curl, cut and accomodate extensions. She is my secret stylist weapon when I want my hair to look extra fab on a party or special occassion evening!
