Sugaring, Skin and Body Therapy...

by Cata

My name is Coleen, I'm the new Esthetician at Blix, and would be pleased to let you relax while I whip your skin, brows or 'other' into meticulously groomed shape.

I'm super excited about our new products by Glo, the tried and true line by Image skincare and Cellex-C for top shelf performance ingredients. As well as the introduction of sugaring services here!

We have some really awesome promotions going on right now too:

Pre-booking sugaring appointments for next week. 15% percent off your first sugar, or 15% off any other second service booked with me--of any kind! Also, After 10 sugars your next is free, you can prepay or call in as desired.

Come by for $25 off the massage and facial package--2 hours of pure bliss and great skin to boot. Fall is a great time to renew.

Men's grooming package, ears, nose and brow for 30 bucks! Now there's no excuse guys.

Look for upcoming happy hours for all your grooming needs on Mondays.

I'm looking forward to pampering everyone in my new neighborhood!

Pros: Awesome skin

Cons: you'll have to beat people off with a stick, lookin' so good

My hair is gorgeous because of Tim...

Thanks to Tim, my hair looks amazing, and everyone notices!

Tim is my hair savior

by Lblakey

I'm very picky about my hair and how it's cut and colored. I was apprehensive about using Tim as all my stylists in the past were women but OMG... Tim far exceeded my expectations. My color is richer looking than I could ever have imagined and he knew exactly how to cut my hair to frame my face, using my natural wave. Tim is amazing and I am never going anywhere else. It took me 6 months to write this review because I wanted to see if he is consistent and he is, each and every time. Tim is so sweet, friendly and cares about his clients. You have got to try Tim. I guarantee you'll be back.

Pros: professional, friendly, great service, comfortable, clean

Cons: none

Looking for the best colorist in town? Ask for Michelle

by hmngbird

I have to say that I have tried a number of salons in the downtown Seattle area and Michelle at Spa Blix is by far the most talented colorist around! Every time I go to her, I am so pleased! She is FABULOUS! Definitely the best colorist in Seattle.

Pros: wonderful experience, a true artist!

Mia is fantastic!

by bumblebee

I've never been to a spa, much less had a Brazilian, so I was a bit apprehensive. But Mia was terrific! She explained exactly what she was going to do and what I could expect, and she was very reassuring. I think her experience definitely minimized the discomfort. The results were so great I'll definitely go see Mia again. Thank you Mia!

Pros: knowledgable, great service, nice setting, validated parking

Try it, you will love it

by Cricket

This place may look small, but it is big on services and expertise. I had the extreme pleasure to have Traci cut and color my hair. I have never had a better hair cut or color that enhanced my face and my personality. She is an expert at her craft and I highly recommend anyone looking for that "one" stylist and colorist to try Traci. You won't be dissapointed.

Spa Blix: Finest Skincare in Seattle

by carsonr

I finally found the right place in Seattle to analyze and repair my skin. I was in need of a skin "overhaul", and the professionals at Spa Blix provided the remedy.

Mia Drysdale, an esthetician at Spa Blix, diagnosed my issues and put me on the path to healthy skin. Mia's understanding of the science and chemistry of skin and skin care is what sets her apart from other estheticians. She asked questions about my daily treatment, product use, diet, and hydration. Then, she explained the science of the things that were harming me and the new habits that would help.

Spa Blix has an extensive menu of facial options, and my trust in Mia is so strong that I always let her choose each treatment. In addition to great care, Mia and other Spa Blix staff possess a charm and warmth that create a tranquil atmosphere, the kind of experience you expect from a premier spa.

Within two weeks, my skin improved dramatically and was no longer on the "good day" "bad day" cycle. Now, 3 months removed from my first treatment, none of the issues that plagued me reappear. I recommend Mia and Spa Blix without reservation.

Pros: Relaxed, Calm atmosphere;Friendly and attentive staff

Traci at Spa Blixx

by seatowngal

Not only are the spa services fab but they have now added stylist. I have crazy unruley curly hair. Traci ( formerly of Bocz salon) did me right. Not only did she take the time to sit down with me and discuss my options but she also showed me how to style it in a way that actually made sense to me. I got the best cut of my life. Doing my hair is now a joy and not something I dread. Go see traci.

Elegant and relaxing!

by RedmondResident

I had a massage at spa blix a few days ago and loved it!

I appreciated the elegance of the decor and the relaxed feel of the waiting area. The simple luxuries in the locker room - that robe has to be the softest robe i have ever been in - reveal the spa designer's attention to detail.

That the spa manages to create an upscale experience without getting pretentious (or pricey) is quite something.

Oh, and the massage was great. The IPod-piped music had some real relaxing gems that I heard for the first time. ( I will forgive that one tune that seemed a little too boisterous for a massage. No one can get everything right.)

This comes highly recommended.

Pros: accessibility from eastside, elegance, luxury, decor, services

Wonderful Experience!

by lolagirl24

I just have to say Spa Blix is amazing! The other day I went in to experience their Classic Facial with Mia (I had seen her previously for a wax and for as painless as waxing can be she was great!) After I was greeted with a smile at the front desk, I was escorted to the very clean, well appointed changing room where I put on a fluffy robe and slippers. I then proceed to the relaxation area and sipped on some warm tea. The facial was awesome! Mia is so knowledgeable and just a fabulous esthetician. Along with a deep cleanse and exfoliation, she gave me a wonderful massage. My skin felt so clean and hydrated when I left. I will definitley be back...maybe next time for a massage as well!

Extraordinary Experience... I will be back!!!

by Seaaura

I've had lots of facials but this, by far, was the best I've ever had. Just so you know, the place looks small from the outside but it's quite spacious inside. There are quite a few treatment rooms and a large bathroom, complete with shower. The atmosphere is posh yet very inviting and relaxing in decor. I changed into a comfortable robe, was offered tea and sat in a lovely formal "living room" area before my service started. Megan treated me like royalty from start to finish. The facial room was cozy and very inviting. The bed was so comfortable and she made it even better by placing warm pillows on my tummy and under my neck. I just loved the products she used on me, which smelled so good. She was so knowledgeable and I learned quite a bit about my skin. The facial was exquisite and included massages from scalp to feet, I nearly fell asleep. My skin felt wonderful when I left and I was so relaxed. Next time, I'm making it a full day of it with massage, facial and nails. I understand they also have hair services. Hummmmm, I wonder if my husband will mind my traveling with him to Seattle from now on? Spa Blix... I will be back!!!

Pros: atmosphere, friendly staff, clean, inviting. Great service!

Cons: none, I loved it.

Big Let Down for Spa Week

by janeydoey

I signed up for the $50 facial for Spa Week and from looking at their website thought I'd be getting the 'Classic'. This includes "extractions" and "a face and scalp massage".

The spa is cute, if a little cramped. My esthetician told me to remove my shirt and lower my bra straps as she'd be doing a decollete massage. She told me to lie on top of the blankets on the table. I'm not fond of the fitness level of my stomach and was not very keen on lying there with it exposed, so I asked for a drape or even a towel. She didn't have one so told me to get under the blanket, which then made me really hot.

She started the facial without asking me my skin type (dry, oily, sensitive, etc.) It seemed okay, but with certain product applications my skin itched a little. As she was doing the hot towel cleaning she said this is where she would normally do the extractions, but since the Spa Week facial is condensed in time she wouldn't be able to. I was *very* disappointed as this was one of the top things I was looking forward to.

The other thing I was really looking forward to, the scalp massage, also never materialized. There was no scrub, no exfoliation, nothing but an enzyme mask I can buy in the drugstore! This was as condensed and generic a facial as they could possibly provide. By the time I left my forehead was itching and I had to take a shower as soon as I got home to keep from grease slicking my couch from the oil all over my arms.

Overall, HUGE disappointment and complete waste of money.

Note to the management: Spa Week services should be used to draw new customers. If I had gotten a real facial for $50 I would have definitley returned and paid full price, told all my friends about Spa Blix and would have written a much different review. If you're not going to provide a valuable service at a discounted price, don't bother joining Spa Week.

Pros: Cute decoration

Cons: Terrible value for Spa Week

Best Spa Atmoshpere Yet!

by seattlechic8

I consider myself somewhat of a spa connesieur and of all the spa's I have been to, Spa Blix is by far the most wonderful. All the staff are so welcoming, and everything is so personalizedd, you feel right at home. I went in for my birthday and was treated like a queen, they even put together a little complimentary gift bag for me! The services were AMAZING (Massage with Libby, facial with Seth, and nails with Nozomi). Fire and Ice Facial immediately resurfaced my skin and made it glow, and I walked out of the massage and exfoliation feeling like I had a body 10 years younger. Again the overall feeling and comfort, not forgetting the phenomenal services (they have a wonderful range as well), is what really draws me to Spa Blix and wil ensure my return time and time again.

Pros: Services, general feeling

Cons: Absolutely None!

Fabulous

by lalalea

I visited Spa Blix for a pampering before my sister's wedding. Mind you, I am also 8 months pregnant. I got a spectrum of services done from a brow wax to manicure to a massage. Let me just tell you, the whole experience was fabulous! Carlie the massage therapist was incredible and treated my poor pregnant body so well. Her use of touch, aromatherapy, and general kindness was so effective in making me feel like new. Being located in the South Lake Union neighborhood right across the street from REI in the new Alley 24 is perfect and I am glad to have discovered this new spa in this new emerging neighborhood.

Pros: ambience, service

Facials and Massage are the best!

by georgia_lee_w

At Spa Blix you can retreat with the ultimate service, and shabby-chic like atomosphere. I have been going here almost once a month for a year now for facials and massage. It can't be beat. The locker room is served by a giant shower head with all the best products for sampling. The stone massage is heaven and your skin will thank you after a facial with the best treatment options for dry or tired skin. Love the plush body robes and the zen like massage rooms. You won't be sorry.

Pros: staff, value, location

Cons: none

Best massage ever!

by snowdiva

I have been to a number of massage treatments throughout the years, but none of those have come close to a recent experience at Spa Blix. When you talk about people having the "touch" one name should come up, Carlie. I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

My favorite part was Carlie's style. Most massages work on a certain part of your body and once they've moved on to the next, that's it. Carlie used a style of integrated massage that always kept me guessing, where she was continually working different parts of the body. It was great. I walked out and immediately booked another appointment. l'll definitely make a habit of going back to her.

Pros: Carlie

Best Urban Oasis

by spaforlife

I have been a guest of Spa Blix for 6 months (yes I spend a lot of time on my sanity and stress relief) and it has always been an incredible experience. The space itself is intimate and inviting and the staff is always attentive (they had hostess problems in the past but worked out those issues fast.) The massage artists are the best of the best. Each service was designed for ultimate relaxation or treatment value and I have always left feeling healed or revived. The facials are also top notch and the estheticians really know thier stuff. My favorite is the Fire and Ice facial for anti aging properties, but the Image skincare line rocks for at home care. The nail techs do a great job with feet and hands using an awesome marine mask even in basic pedis. And waxing services are a definite with this place. They just started a "brow bar" which looks interesting. I could honestly rave about the place forever and I will definitely be back SOON.

Pros: Validated parking, expert artists, beautiful place, excellent products

Cons: no side by side massage

Best treatments anywhere in the city

by 1smartgirl

Spa Blix is the place to go for beautiful skin. I have tried many medications and topicals to clear my acne but nothing worked for me. Aimee started me on a chemical peel regime and I can honestly say my skin looks amazing. The acne is gone and any signs of scarring have diminished. I use Image for maintenance and would suggest anyone wanting thier skin to look its best should head over to this spa. They also do great manis/pedis. The place is spectacular hand picked design and decor.

Pros: expert staff, parking, neighborhood

Cons: none

Great treatments, Average "spa experience"

by seeseattle

First let me say i will definitely go back. I went with friends and we all more than enjoyed our services. The practitioners were all top notch and experienced and the rooms were lovely. What was missing in the experience that prevented me from rating it a 5 was the overall relaxing spa experience. When booking, the front desk/booker didn't seem to know anything about the treatments. Once we got there, we felt that the support staff/front desk staff could use a little extra training. there were three of us. She took us in the back and said that there were robes and flipflops in the lockers and left. We then realized there were only two lockers available and only one had a robe (but no flip flops). My friend had to go back out and tell her. Then she only brought two flipflops and two robes, so one of us had no flip flops. Then we realized there was no toilet paper and no hand towels so we had to go BACK out and ask for that. She told us to help ourselves to water and when we went to do so found there were two glasses and only a splash of water in the pitcher. Each one of these things seems like no big deal, but when added up, it diminished the experience. As soon as she found something amiss, she should have checked everything else so we didn't have to keep asking. For the price of the services, I'd just expect a little bit more of a seamless experience.

Pros: validated parking, expert practitioners who LISTEN, nice rooms

Cons: disorganized, not relaxing outside of treatment rooms

Incredible experience!

by dachshund

Be careful using the map function on this web site because as of today it's sending people to the wrong place- but despite the difficulty in getting there (it's across from REI) it was totally worth it! Cute place, very quiet, great products and beautiful bathrooms. Best of all was the massage by NOVA . 90 minutes just kept going and going. Use of heated towels, packs and aroma was incredibly relaxing and she is obviously very skilled, yet does not make the massage feel at all clinical or rushed. Everything was so calming and refreshing I didn't want to leave. Having tried many spas in the Seattle Area this is by far my favorite and I can't wait to go back.

I just received a facial at Spa Blix by Mary and thought it was amazing. I do not get facials often, but this experience will keep me coming back. So I recently had a facial from Mary (not my first) and it was superb. She was kind and highly skilled. Not sure what that last review was all about but please know that Mary is awesome. Her knowledge base of product and technique are rare and absolute while her personality is calming and genuine. I will keep coming back to Spa blix just to see her and of course other artists like Salina, who by the way gives one of the best massages I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Spa Blix:)

Great!

by artgurl72

I am fairly new to Seattle and having been checking out day spas in the city. My experience at Spa Blix was great. The services were top notch and the facility is great, really beautiful and tastefully done. The showers are great too. It's very chic, maybe a bit too much so for my taste (example the VIP room seems a bit over the top but there's probably a market for it, just not my style). I had a great facial and sugar body scrub. My boyfriend had a massage and really liked the men's dressing room. And they have free parking! That's a huge plus in this busy neighborhood with tons of construction going on. THe prices are definitely high so I probably wouldn't go back very often, but definitely will for special occassions or when I need some extra special pampering. Great spot for special guests coming to town.

Pros: services, parking, showers, atmosphere

Cons: prices

Spa Blix is a nice and cozy retreat. They are into good personalized service versus the other places that just want your wallet . I highly recommend Seth for facials. I'd follow him anywhere. There's also treasures on your way to the spa next door and across the street. Located in an up and coming neighborhood (with soon to be cable cars). Take an adventure and give Spa Blix a call.

The best spa for busy professionals

by jjhaley

If you are a professional that is on the go, and can appreciate a fantastic spa experience....Spa Blix is the place to go! I have been to Ummelina's, Habitude, the Nordstroms Spa, Spa Scotta to name a few. They are fantastic spas but they don't allow the flexibility Spa Blix provides. If you like to go through the self service line in the grocery store, you will love the experience of scheduling your own spa services. No need to call, just log onto their website and schedule your own appointment. Take as long as you want to figure out what appointments work best for you. Change your mind, reschedule or if you are lucky enough to find a spot, schedule the day before.
The manicures and pedicures are very nice. Extroverts will enjoy an intelligent conversation with the technicians. The Huna massage is an absolute must, and for tea lovers don't forget to add a tea ceremony to one of your packages. The tea offered at Spa Blix is not an after thought, it is great!
