Mahak Indian Cuisine just moved from Greenwood and has opened its doors on Roosevelt Ave NE. Mahak service authentic food and offers dine-in, take-out, delivery, and catering options. "Tandoori cuisine" is an ancient method of cooking. Using a clay oven called a Tandoor, we cook our meats and breads to absolute perfection. Our curries are prepared with fresh Indian herbs and spices, tomatoes and onions. We have a lunch buffet and Sunday brunch. Vegan dishes are available. We also offer free delivery and parking.
Good place for a great meal.

Just found out about this restaurant. I've had the lunch buffet twice now. I've been to tons of Indian restaurants but this is my favorite by far. Very friendly people. The food is wonderful. My favorites are the naan, chai, tandoori chicken, and rice with chutney. Affordable and the service has been quick. Highly recommended!
Pros: The food is extremely good & the staff very friendly.
Cons: None that I have experienced.

Best Home Style Indian Food in town
by PatriciaBaltazar
I love this wonderful restaurant, the food is delicious and the peolpe are very friendly. This family owned restaurant has so many great dishes, is hard to go wrong with anything. I have tasted so many dishes and they are all so delicious. My favorites are Lamb ggoa curry, Okra Masala. Their Samosas and thir Nan are so fresh and right out of the oven. I recomended over any other. Personally I have eaten at other Indian restaurants some not even worth mentioning. However before I found this restaurant Bengal tiger was the one, I have been to The taste of India as well but Mehak is still number one for me. If I had to choose, this will be the order. Mehak, Bengal tiger and last Taste of India.

home made indian - the BEST in seattle, by far!
by wildpianist
we've been going to mehak's since they first opened up in wallingford many years ago. after two moves they still have the very best indian we've ever had. the staff is super friendly - we're treated like family there. definitely check out the lunch buffet if you're on a budget, but it's their regular menu where they really shine. i can't say enough about this place! we're always thrilled to go eat there.
Pros: best tasting food ever!
Cons: none i can't think of

Great Indian Food, Samosa.....
by Thuloketo
I just came out from Mehak Indian Cuisine, and it was great! I've been there several times. They have recently relocated in 123rd Roosevelt Way. I am a fan of their Samosa and Chatani. Everything is clean and homely environment with family run restaurant, unlike other experiences of my elsewhere. PARKING! Yes, it is free. The Nan was delicious and tasty. I usually love their Saag Paneer and it was really good. The cooks were a little bit traditional, but the flavor was so good. I saw one of the previous reviews, and agree that some times the communication is not convenient, but because of great Indian food you won?t be disappointed. I'm excited too munch with some great Indian food in a convenient location (I usually walk around this area with family). Oh, the Tandoori Chicken was yum-yum. Try it.
Pros: Great Indian food with affordable price

Great Food and great service with good price
by sheaik
First of all the place looks beautiful. It has changed so much since before. I absolutely love all the changes done to it. Can you tell i'm a regular?...yup, very much so. It's one of those places that you get so attached to everyone there that you can't help but kep going back. It's such a family oriented restaurant and great food offcourse to go with it. I love the special menu, everything is so exotic. I really recommend it for families or special occasions. The tikka masala is amazing and the Kerala coconut fish curry. I'll keep comming back.
Nice work Mr.Singh keep it up..

Disspointed in their communication...
by coffingirl
Don't get me wrong, the food here was EXCELLENT! It was brought out quickly, and I had a really good meal alltogether.
However, I went there for the buffet on a weekday, and ended up (due to a language barrier and my good nature) ordering whole meals for myself and my dining partner because there was NO buffet. Please don't advertise one if there won't be one!!!
Then, at the end, I waited nearly 45 minutes at the register to pay by credit card because they only had one phone line and it was occupied by someone discussing long distance plans. I was annoyed first at paying dinner prices for lunch, and then for having to wait so long.
I'm really torn. The food was great, but the service really dissapointed me. Chances are I'll not be going back because of that.
Pros: really good food, not hard to find
Cons: no lunch buffet, dinner prices for lunch, not enough paneer in the Palak Paneer

Awesome!
by olblueeyes
I agree with every other great review! Food was fantastic! Service was awesome, probably because there was no on else in there! We need to spread the word about this place and get it filled. It would be a shame to see this place close due to low traffic. It is easy to miss and I did drive right by it, BUT remember that it is right next to the Deli/ Minimart. Good eating!
Pros: Fantastic food..all of it
Cons: peculiar location

Excellent service, excellent food
by thubbard1977
I finally found great Indian in North Seattle! The food here was as good as any Indian food I've had in the Seattle area, or anywhere else for that matter. It's not a fancy restaurant per se, but there's plenty of parking.
The service was great, our food came very quickly, and nothing we ordered was short of great. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Naan was especially notable. Nice big menu, and the prices were very reasonable. It's worth noting that they offer takeout and delivery too.

Yummy Indian food
by tareha
We second and third the "best spinach nan" raves from other reviewers. The nan was stuffed fat with spinach, which was perfect for dipping in the yummy cilantro chutney. The food is great here and the service very friendly. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside (if you even notice it all). The restaurant scene is quite lacking in this area so it's exciting when there's good food available just a few blocks from my house. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food there.
Pros: Delicious food
Cons: none

Great!
by ladyheidijean
Great! The chicken tikka masala was mouth watering and perfectly spiced. I drove by the place though - it's got a lousy location on the corner. Cheesy looking from the outside and very easy to miss. The mango lassi was the only thing a friend of mine said wasn't all it should/could be. There was no one there when we got there at 6 on a Saturday but folks came trickling in after. The location is working against them - press in!

Great food, friendly environment, AND they deliver!
by Jasminett
This is a great new place! The food is delicious and the family run environment is very warm and friendly. You will love the spinach naan. It is the best I have had. I also love their prawn and lamb dishes. Their lunchen buffet is a major deal! It is a good way to try new dishes. Also, it is a large place, so you can always get a table. It is a great addition to the Broadview district AND they will deliver to your home or business! Now that is unique!

Best Indian Restaurant in Seattle
by una_enoch
Delicious food - the paneer tikka masala is mouth watering good. The nan is perfection. The lunchtime deli has several options for vegetarians. However, whenever I've visited, the restaurant has been almost deserted. Where are the fellow Indian food lovers in North Seattle? Please support this restaurant - i'm going to be devastated if it closes due to lack of customers (yes really).
Pros: The food is the best in Seattle
Cons: Too few customers! Please support this restaurant

This IS the best restaurant for India cuisine
by august2007
I encourage everyone to give this place a try. My fiance and I love this place! The owners are very welcoming and gracious. The are very sweet and nice. The prices are very reasonable, and of course, the food is excellent! You get seated right away. You can make additional requests on items you order. We love the spinach naan, lamb vindaloo, and many of their chicken dishes (too many favorites). We are always encouraged to come back by the owners before we head out the door. Mehak offers a very welcoming and cozy dining experience at a very affordable price.
Pros: They have a bar in the back for the after dinner crowds!

Best Indian food I've had in a LONG time!
by l_wins
I agree with the other reviewers. I found out about this place through Citysearch and am VERY impressed. The food was really good. The family that own and run the place is very curtious and polite as well.
Kind of cool that they are open late on the weekends and deliver too. I'll definitly go back to this place. Hopefuly, it doesn't get too busy and stays a hidden jem!
Pros: Amazing food and service

Chicken Tikka Masala is Awsome
by patmonks
Whatever you do, make sure to order the Chicken Tikka Masala.
My wife and I sample this dish at just about every Indian restaurant we find and have never tasted one as good as the Mehak's. You will "need" to order some Naan or Garlic Naan so that you can dip it in the Masala sauce to get every precious drop. Trust me.
If you have two or more hungry people in your party the next thing to order is the Tandoori Mixed Grill. This is a large sampling of chicken, lamb and seafood grilled in the Tandoor oven and served over sizzling onions and peppers. When it comes to your table squeeze a little lemon juice over the top and you have a flavorful feast. If you ordered this for one person, you also have lunch for tomorrow.
Mehak is a run by an Indian husband and wife and their son. They are very nice people and will even teach you a few words in their language.
Find this place and try it out. You will find yourself going back often.
Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly Service
Cons: Simple Ambience

Yumbo-licious Indian
by spritelygolightly
THIS PLACE NEEDS YOUR BUSINESS. Easy-to-miss location, wedged between Piper's Creek Pub and a convenience store on Greenwood, just north of the intersection @ Holman. Their lunch buffet is deceptively small; you'll find everything you want on the line. Several vegetarian dishes and 2 chicken dishes- and they have the BEST mint/cilantro chutney I've ever eaten. Fresh-baked naan comes with the cost of the buffet and is better than s*x or ice cream.
I don't think anyone knows about this place yet, so I need to get the word out. Great, attentive service (of course, my lunch date and I were the only ones in the place for a while...) parking available.
Pros: All major cards accepted, attentive service, incredible food, large menu
Cons: Location- you might drive right past it
