I have wanted to try this place for a long time based on the recommendations of friends. From the outside, it looks like a tacky little storefront, but once you open the door, you step into a tropical paradise and could be anywhere warm

Our bartender was so rude, we will never be back. She was yelling from behind the bar about a concert at the place next door saying..."Those Christians are rocking out again, can we turn up the music on here?!?" Regardless of the religious

Pros: Nice Decor

Some friends introduced us to Thatch and we are hooked on the delicious tiki drinks. Drinks are expensive, but strong, and the food is better than what I would expect in a bar. It can fill up on weekend evenings, but is worth the wait.

This is the coolest and most fun place to get a drink in town. If you are a Tiki enthusiast this is must see! This is a shaker, not blender, bar and Zorn the head mixologist is a master of his craft. He has created drinks for the menu that you can find nowhere else. They just came out with a new drink called the baby eater, which comes in a signature glass that can come home with you. The volcano bowls are a must to get any visit started. A dash of cinnamon sparks the "volcano" for an exciting effect that will impress any date. The decor is tikirific, full of vintage statues and beautiful velvet paintings. Saturdays fills up, because this is a quality not quantity kind of place, but if you are expecting a crowd, you can always reserve the hut.

Pros: atmosphere

Cons: Service, wait time, did I mention the TERRIBLE service

The service was very casual but excellent. It is a fun venue. Every time I go we are generally with a large party and they never bat an eye about separating the checks. The food is limited but very tasty and every time I bring some one new

I've come in several times on a Sunday night to find many locals and regulars. That's a good sign in my book. The bartender takes the time to welcome everyone even if she's busy. \r

I was excited to hear about this place as it was being built. However, when I finally visited, I was kind of disappointed. The space itself is TINY. The "pond" you cross over as you enter, don't blink or you will completely miss it.

I really can appreciate some forms of kitsch, but being a Hawaiian - sometimes I just get irritated with the whole TIKI thing. Okay, lesson of the day- the Hawaiian people basically had their land, culture and lifestyle stolen from them

Note to the reviewer before...get a sense of humor, and go back to school and learn to spell! Thatch is just what it's meant to be...a funky Tiki Bar experience! The drinks are strong, the PuPu's tasty, the music is hypnotic and the atmosphere is all-out island...the Tiki Gods are most happy! We've brought friends there several times and always had an outstanding time!
It's a cozy party atmosphere for those with a love of island kitsch and a fun sense of humor! Call after 5:00 a few days ahead to reserve the Tiki hut for a larger group...the bar fills-up quick!

Pros: Strong drinks for a good price during Happy Hour!

Cons: weird atmosphere, cheaply put together, smells funky
