I came to Studio Blue after purchasing a Groupon-the Groupon came and went, but I am still coming to classes! Ive been doing yoga and Pilates for a little over 2 years, and I had been looking for a class that incorporates the relaxation

Before happening upon Studio Blue, I had taken pilates and yoga classes at least four other studios, but I never really felt totally comfortable. Dan Walton and the Studio Blue team changed that.

The mat room is handsomely designed, spacious and at the same time, cozy. Everything about the studio is aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, but that's not really why it's so great.

Dan, Wendi, Angelina, Ishbel, Rebecca, Tami... I've taken classes from all of them, and each class is special in its own way. I feel really motivated by each of these teachers, and it's what keeps me coming back.

I also think the classes are well-priced. The monthly unlimited mat classes are a steal, and because I feel like I'm getting so much (I go 5-6 times a week) I can splurge on extras, like the special weekend workshops they offer, or sweat in the 6-week Boot Camp.

Studio Blue is far and away the best pilates and yoga studio I have ever encountered.

I discovered Studio Blue after taking a yoga class from one of its instructors, Angelina Vasile. Angelina's approach to conditioning is unreal and her attention to detail is impeccable. I started with a private reformer session with her and started exploring the mat classes offered. I have been nothing but impressed. The staff are top notch, facilities are clean and well maintained, classes are small and I am always greeted like family. I love that the staff truly cares about me and asks how my injuries are healing. This isn't a factory-style approach to fitness. My hands-down favorite class is booty camp taught by Tami and Dan! Its an hour of weights-cardio-pilates fun. Its transforming my body and is addicting. I've never had so much fun getting in shape. Can not tell enough people about this wonderful studio.

Studio Blue has made me realize how important it is to take care of your body for best overall health. I am a professional cook and pilates has helped with chronic back pain, bad posture, and sore legs and feet. The instructors at Studio Blue listen to what you do and what you want to accomplish and take an invested interest in helping you achieve your goals. I started out taking mat classes only and have progressed into equipment and private sessions. In one year I lost 13 pounds and had to have my wedding dress taken in two sizes. It has been worth every penny and is a better deal then belonging to a gym or yoga studio. I would recommend this to anyone, and I have!

I love Studio Blue. Every teacher i've had is motivating, kind and full of good energy. The space for mat classes is very small, but there is a maximum number of people who can sign up, so space is not a problem. I like that classes start on time and that they close the door if you're late. Who wants to be interrupted five minutes into their practice, anyway? For me, pilates has meant one hour a day where my I am focused solely on my body and how it works, instead of always living in my head. I leave class feeling a sense of clarity in my mind, my body feeling strong and balanced, the stress of my day gone.
And really: the people who work there are super, super nice. I don't ever get the feeling of being judged; rather, it's more like, "Woo hoo! Good job for coming to class today! Let's sweat!"

For years I've been a card-carrying "gym rat" but I shortly after moving to Portland I decided to look for a new approach to keeping fit, staying strong, and improving my overall well-being. I found it at Studio Blue. I have to admit that their 'one-week free trial' got me in the door, but their class variety, positive attitudes, knowledgeable and friendly instructors have kept me coming back. I'm now addicted!

Because I had never done pilates before, I was worried about "doing it right" and not hurting myself in the process. I am always appreciative of the personal attention I get from every instructor, in every class I've taken. They do a wonderful job making sure you have a great (and safe) experience.

The Studio Blue team has built a great community and I can't imagine a week without a visit. It's definitely worth your time to drop in and talk to Dan and Joanne to see if pilates is right for you. I'm sure their enthusiasm will make you a convert :)

Taking classes at Studio Blue has totally changed my body. After 30 yrs of being about 15 lbs heavier I've kept the weight off now for nearly 2 years(even that last stubborn 5 lbs) and I believe I have an even BETTER body than I did when I was a teenager. In no time at all I reduced my waistline 2 pants sizes and can see muscle definition I never dreamed I could have. I've tried other yoga/pilates/exercise studios in town and stayed with SB for several reasons: the small intimate class sizes where I get personal attention, the way I've always been welcomed and treated like family, and the EXTREMELY reasonable pricing (better than anyplace else I've tried in town). Dan always greets me with a smile and his enthusiasm is contagious. I never dread going there to work out -- instead I look forward to classes that are fun, and trainers who take the time to get to know me. There are so many different classes/times to choose from that I can easily fit several workouts per week into my schedule, and every class is a little bit different so I'm never bored. Dan, Ishbel, and the other trainers do a great job of making you feel comfortable in class regardless of your previous experience/fitness level and I find the workouts challenging but never intimidating. Great location and easy free street parking too. I tried the "first week free" offer (which allows you to choose as many classes as you want to from the 20+ available each week) and have been devoted to Studio Blue ever since. I would encourage anyone who is interested in pilates, yoga, or just getting in the best core shape of your life to stop by and try a free week. Oh, and they also have TRULY private Private Instruction so I'm in a room of my own with my trainer (rather than a group setting with other trainers and clients) which is great for those of us who tend to be self-conscious!

I have been going to Studio Blue for over 2 years now. All of the instructors, Dan, Wendi, Angelina, Tami and Ishbel are great! They are all unique in their style. The one thing they all have is a true love for what they do and great knowledge of the body. When I first started coming, I had hip and back pain.
After doing privates on the pilates equipment twice a week for just a couple of months my 10 years of pain was gone. I would recommend Studio Blue to anyone!

Thank you Studio Blue!!!

At 70 I want to be able to stay at least as fit as I am and the staff at Studio Blue is atune to my needs and limitations and excellent with their detailed and clear instructions. I would recommend this for 'gentle' as well as advanced pilates or for anyone who is just beginning and needs to get to know the techniques.

I really like the range of classes that you've added to the class schedule. I've noticed changes in my body/core... They each offer a challenge in so many different ways...all of that ongoing classes/trainings are paying off, I feel like you are developing your awareness and increasing your knowledge of how to make your students practice more effective.

Coming to classes continue to be something that I look forward to in my schedule each week.

I love this place!
I have been to a few pilates classes elsewhere, but this was the best experience that I have ever had. The instructors were knowledgeable and welcoming. During my week free, I went to 2 pilates classes, a yoga class, and a springboard class! Also, the place is very stylish, and I loved the feeling of comfort and relaxation as soon as I walked in the door.

The environment at the studio is very welcoming and the staff is very smart and friendly. I have been going to the gym for years and just started using the pilates machines. They are intense and I was sore for days, in all the right spots! I will continue to go to Studio Blue and recommend them to all my friends.

I have been working with Dan at Studio Blue for over a year now. When I first started, I was not very flexible, my abs were weak and I was suffering from low back pain. After the first week I could feel my abs getting stronger. After the first month I could see my posture improving. And after 3 months, 40 years of back pain is now gone. Studio Blue and Dan will forever be in my life. Thank you!!!

Studio Blue has the BEST staff---Make sure the start with the introductory privates! They make a huge difference, and I finally learned the RIGHT way to do pilates. The mat classes are fabulous---every instructor has their own take, but everyone has the Studio Blue "feeling." At the end of class, my body is energized, and I get a special spring in my step. I love the Studio Blue work out, and I feel better than I have in years!
I recommend Studio Blue Pilates to EVERYONE! Plus, the PRICE IS REALLY GOOD

I have been going to Studio Blue for about a year and a half now. I do privates and Springboard class with Dan, who is just amazing. Pilates has improved my flexibility and given me amazing core strength. I also feel taller and leaner after Pilates, which was confirmed after my last doctors visit. I have grown 1/2 an inch, from 5' 5.5" to 5' 6"!

I love coming to the studio because no matter how bad or tired I feel, Dan has a wonderful way of tuning my workout to exactly the level I need that day. I always walk out of the studio feeling lighter, more centered and energized than I did when I came in. Dan also knows how to push you past where you think you can go to help you get stronger.

I'm one of those people who doesn't really like "going to the gym"...but I love the feeling and results I'm getting with Studio Blue Pilates! I highly recommend you stop by to see for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

I was convinced to try Pilates for the first time at Studio Blue a year ago. I am an athletic girl, but I am not much of a "yoga person." But, after my first class, my soul was sold to Pilates. I have been coming to Studio Blue for a year now, and it has become my second home. The studio is friendly, personal with class sizes that max at 12. Every instructor is talented and different, and over this past year my body has changed for the better. I am more flexible, stronger, and without a doubt, have more energy. Pilates is seriously for everyone.

I have always avoided any sort of exercise because a) it hurts, b) it is not fun and feels like work and c) its embarrassing/intimidating for me to go to a gym. So, with much trepidation I made my first private Pilates session w/ Dan. I was warmly greeted in a lovely, cozy space and felt so comfortable, I hardly knew that I was about to work out. Dan was kind and patient and has a passion for his work that is infectious - he has always been able to target my sessions to my unique needs. He is knowledgeable and an inspired teacher ? he has a gift for positive motivation.
I have been going to private sessions since this summer and my bod is transformed! How, you may ask? Well, not only can I touch my toes, but two weeks ago, I touched the floor ? a feat I have never been able to accomplish. Beside that, my butt looks smokin? and I have abs ? me! But the most astonishing statistic of all is that I have gained ? of an inch of height- all confirmed by my speechless and very impressed physician. (I should say regained after losing it from years of working at a desk and poor posture). If you love yourself, go to Studio Blue and let Dan and Angela help you create a new fabulous you.

I found Pilates three years ago; I was over weight and experiencing chronic
knee pain. As a chef, I spend ten hours a day on on my feet. My body was
failing it could not handle the physical stress. Through the training
Pilates offers, I lost seventy-eight pounds and changed the way I move. I
have new energy for life, and no longer have knee pain. Angela is an
inspiring instructor that helped facilitate the changes I have experienced.
I believe that everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, can benefit
from Pilates.

I started going to this pilates studio a couple of months ago, just trying to get in better shape. I had never tried pilates but heard that it was a good workout. And it was hard to pass up a free week of classes! I could feel the results even after the first class! I can touch my toes now too! And I've been told my butt is looking (and feeling) better! :)

Dan and Angela are great instructors! They're so warm, friendly, and encouraging. The small class sizes are great. They're getting so popular (with good reason) that some of the classes fill up though (but they're hoping to expand). I love the personal attention and the variety! There are so many different classes to take and they're offered at multiple times so you can usually find one to fit your schedule. Some of the classes are great for stretching. Other classes are more hardcore. But even though it can be tough at times (it's good pain!), Dan and Angela have a way of making it fun so you want to keep coming back!

This is a great studio for anyone, even total beginners like me!

Pros: Great instructors, good location, ample parking, relaxing environment, good prices/value, small class sizes, pretty much everything!

I started with a bad back that pills and massage didn't fix. A friend recommended Wade the accupuncturist and with skepticism I surrendered. Low and behold, I was cured. I now go every week for spiritual energy flow and to keep my back from hurting due to marathon training and long sits on chairs. Then I discovered Dan and pilates. I had no idea what pilates was but I tried it for fun. After a week I touched my toes!!! This is very exciting for me. I touched my toes. I'm so excited about my future growth here. I feel really good. thanks. Ish.

Pros: One on one training available

Cons: I can't think of any right now.

With such amazing energy, compassion, and detail, Dan has helped me
shape my body, seeing results in less than six weeks. The studio has
beautiful feeling when you are there, makes me feel part of the
family. I am enjoying my mat class so much I feel so energized when I
am finished it sets my day in a stronger positive outlook. I look
forward to my classes each day. Thanks so much for reshaping and
balancing my life with what I do.

I have been impressed with Studio Blue from the first time I walked through the doors. The studio itself is a wonderful space that exudes tranquility and relaxation. The owners, Angela & Dan, are exceptionally nice and show genuine care for each of their clients, no matter what their fitness level. They actually make classes really fun and enjoyable. Overall, you could not find a friendlier staff or better prices anywhere else. You will not be disappointed.

Pros: Good prices, highly knowledgable & friendly staff, wonderful relaxing ambience

Cons: Class sizes are getting bigger due to popularity and more floor space would be great

I sing shape note music where volume is prized above music ability or pitch. Since I've started taking Dan's class I think I've become even louder than I was before. Core strength!

I was so excited to hear about Studio Blue. As a professional dancer pilates is the perfect combination of strengthening and stretching. Dan and Angela have been so fun and supportive while kicking my butt. Thanks to you both for helping me get back into dancer shape. Bree

I was introduced to Studio Blue by my friend Johnnie. Going into it with a photo shoot a week away and not knowing what to expect out of class, I was pretty excited. I needed that edge to cut up my stomach and harden my obliques, with no time to spare. The combo work out covered every essential aspect of fitness including strength, balance, endurance, and most importantly flexibility. It was just what I needed. The results were instantaneous. I will remain in pilates indefinitely.
