Worse treatment I've ever experienced in a hair salon 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I too left Diadem even though I was very happy with the way my hair looked and felt when it was done.
Not only was the wait time several hours but the owner and her mother were rude and unprofessional. As a professional working woman my time is too valuable to spend hours in a hair salon waiting to have my hair done.

Even after complaining about the long wait several times I never received an apology. To make matters worse, I was blamed for scheduling an appointment that wasn't "first thing in the morning!!" Well that makes sense "BLAME THE CUSTOMER!!".

And let's not mention the unprofessional catty whispering that goes on between the owner and some of her stylists. If she expects to run a professional business she needs to understand the meaning of "conducting herself in a professional manner."

And don't mention the prices. They are like the soup du jour! How much money does Diadem need to make today??? Prices will be set accordingly!

Professional women are not being fooled. This means only one thing...Follow the money trail!

Straight to the IRS!! News flash! Cash only business??? Fluctuating prices??? They probably aren't paying taxes!

Pros: Stylist did a good job but it was outweighed by poor customer service
Cons: horrendous customer service, fluctuating prices, rude immature owner

Observations 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Lisa has been my stylist for quite some time and I'm happy with her. As for the salon, it is very nice, clean and comfortable. Everyone seems to be nice and I haven't noticed any laughing at clients but i tend not to pay attention other people. I'm usually in and out in a reasonable time. However, I have noticed people sitting for hours with damp heads. . Everyone in there is a good stylist. I think some of the comments lose some validity when you "hate" on Dez and her $300 jeans. What does that have to do with the service? Nada!
I can't put my finger on why it takes peopele so long to get out of there. At my old salon, the assistants could do a lot more (spot touch-up, semi-perm color). This way you didn't have to wait for your stylist to finish up a client before she starts on you. This is just a theory since I've never managed a salon but I do create workflows/processess for a living so I think someone needs to take a look at their areas of oppurtunities. Every business has things they can improve upon. Do you have to be nasty about it? NO. Do you have to continue to patronize an establishment that you aren't happy with? By all means, NO.
Since the wait times are a recurring theme, why not take that as an action item and make an attempt to remedy the situation. In this economic climate, some people may not be to afford to come as often as they used to or get the services they once did . So when they do come, they want to feel welcome and they want to feel like you value their time. There are many good/great stylist in the Phila metro area. How can Diadem differentiate themselves from the others? Service. Diadem could invest in a consultant that could observe and make some recommendations on how they can improve and be the best salon they can be. Diadem is on the cusp of being a magnificant salon. I wish you well and much success.

Pros: Hair Care
Cons: Wait Time

would prob recommend to a few stylist there 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Let me start w/ saying I luv my Stylist Lisa, Lisa been manageing my hair for some time now..She's really down to earth, will let you know whats good for your hair and what wouldn't work for your hair, she 's respectful of your time, keeps your hair looking great as do the other stylists.. the music is relaxing, salon has a nice decor, which made me think this is an upscale Salon, after reading the reviews some are on point and the others.. well you must know the owner Desi and tend to keep her in business, because I've heard and witness clients complain about sitting for quite sometime and she looks at you as if you can't look as nice as her-(speak sometime to other stylsits clients instead of staring at them- a smile can go a long way sista.. we make your business/w/out the clients and other stylists there would be no Diadem)..I also notice on one of my visits ..Desi and Ron having a laugh fest at some of the clients-which one happened to be me-GROW UP..YOU 'RE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN DRESS..YES I AM A DIVA..PROFESSIONAL DIVA W/ A COLLEGE EDUCATION..tHE ATTITUDE WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL..WORK ON KEEPING YOUR BUS TOGETHER AND GETTING CLINTELE OUT IN A TIMELY MATTER..BECAUSE WE VALUE OUR TIME AS WELL..LISA KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND GO FAR IN JOURNEY OF HAIR CARE..

Pros: music is good, good hair care ethic
Cons: some unprofessional attitudes of stylist

I'm out 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

My stylist Lisa just left the salon. I enjoyed going there while she was there, but I'm out now that she is gone. Her new salon is much more relaxed and the wait time and price is lower.

Her new salon info is:

Pros: Lisa, Healthy and Stylish Hair, Great Conditioners, Customer Service
Cons: Price, Long Wait for SOME stylists, SOME stylists are scissor happy

customer svc is more than just smiles 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

yes, yes, yes, staff is so friendly and courteous (most of the time, start questioning them about prices..). I was a client for several years. The wait time was always frustrating so I would alternate salons depending on my schedule. After awhile I began to really pay attention to the source of conversation of the staff and the whispering back and forth (w/o going into detail I will say they are immature and get a kick out of laughing at others) I also noticed staff would get upset if you were late for your appt. but they can start your appt. three hours later! There has been no efforts to improve the time scheduling issue (ie: high end salons do not have you waiting for hours and there is a grace period for late customers b4 rescheduling). I convinced myself to leave this establishment, felt as if i was giving my time and money to a place that was all smiles with no regard and respect to the customers.

Pros: nice place, music & smiles
Cons: indirect disrespect
